Another song I wrote. This was influenced by my father, who asked me a few weeks ago if I ever wondered what the story was of one who stood alone at the cemetary. What was their life like? This song sorta depicts that.

Lone One and the Grave

One goes through the cemetery gate
His loved ones all have met their fate
He's left alone in his life
He's lost family; kids and wife
He'll never understand why or how
But nothing else matters now
A grave stone marks where they lie
The lone man kneels down to cry

[chorus]

The world has left you all alone
Memory remains on a tomb stone
The air around you feels so cold
Your knees are glued to the ground
You don't make a single sound
You just wait for fate to unfold
and take you away...

She stands alone at her son's grave
Her child's life she could not save
He never told her what went wrong
But it wouldn't be revealed after too long
His room was locked from the inside
He then performed his suicide
Cut his life before it was done
He was his mother's only son

[repeat chorus]

The soldiers stands in full uniform
He ignores the oncoming storm
A life was lost within the fight
The memory now a cross of white
It was nothing he would wish or desire
A death caused by friendly fire
There is nothing else he can say
The soldier turns and walks away

[chorus]

The world is said to be unfair
There's life you can no longer share
You feel more upset than you can tell
You sleep all alone in bed
Your entire life now feels dead
You alone live on through this hell

The world has left you all alone
Memory remains on a tomb stone
The air around you feels so cold
You stand here year after year
Each time, shedding a few more tears
Waiting for your fate to unfold
And then you walk away...

(This song is dedicated to all who have lost loved ones who have died too early, those who have lost loved ones after years of partnership, or those who feel at fault of the death of friends. I pray for you.)

The soldiers stands in full uniform
Small typo.

I like your song and would willingly buy whatever disk contains it. ¦D
