You need the program called "Lunar IPS", or LIPS for short. On it click Select Rom button, then Aplly Patch, and you're done.

You can't get those stones in the game. This is a Pokemon Ruby hack so evolutions will be done differently. We will have to wait until the final beta comes out to find out how the Sinnoh Pokemon, that are as of yet unobtainable in Beta 2, to see how they will evolve.

Uploading ROM files on Pokécommunity is forbidden. So jsut download the patch and patch it to a ROM. It's not that difficult.

It should be an Omastar, 'cause you know, some Trainers in the Hack are quite hard to beat (Due to me messing around.), so Omastar will be a better opinion. Also, for the "Yes" and "No" case, Wesley did that on purpose.

You're supposed to get the Pokemon. If you say "No", then you'll not get it.
For example: A nice person tries to offer a whole bar of chocolate to you.
What if you said "No"? Will that person continue to stand there until you say "Yes"? No!

Umm its a ips file go download ips from whack a hack then go download a rom from google then get winrar if you have it just excract it and patch it to the ruby verson 1.0 verson and volla you got the hack

By the way when I play Light Platinum I start with Cyndaquil and have Shinx from Route 402 along side it and by the time I got to the Thomas' gym in Dardusk City they are a Typhlosion and Luxray around Level 40. Interesting for me since I have a Luxray in DPP alongside Infernape and in HGSS I have a Typhlosion alongside Ampharos. By the way what are the new names of the gym leaders? I forgot them so I am using Beta 2's names.

First of all, Wesley intended to have an Omanyte as the Pokemon hidden in Prof. Jasmine's lab. But why did I leave it as Omastar? That's simple - I messed with Beta 2's data, making trainers stronger. But don't worry, I won't do that on Beta 3, unless you want to play the X version of it.

Oh, and by the way, here are the new names of the leaders.

Bug Girl - Ariadna
Grass girl - Florence
Water guy - Laike
Ghost guy - Auric
Ground guy - Silas
Electric guy - Wyre

PET, to be honest, is not very good. I always use A-Trainer. Hack Mew's tools are of high quality and awesome.

Hmm... if that's the case, then I think that I should change the way Roselia evolves. In Beta 3, Roselia'll evolve via Leaf Stone.
There's no guarantee that it's gonna work until you try it ;)
So try it now and then report whether it worked or not =)

Even if you make it evolve via stone it may still do that, in the old Explorers of the Sky hack when you change Shaymin to sky forme via evolution by Gracadia flower it reverts from level 45 to level 41. Some of these glitches just can't be corrected.

Chill, man. Honestly, i don't know how. Haha. whats threads? Anyway, i wasn't asking for the new beta3, i was looking for the old beta3. Peace.

I dont want to offend Ruka Prince or Ash 493. But I can't help myself in pointing out some grammatical errors in the game. For example, in central city, a yellow haired lady outside a house said "there's a important building which is...." the "a" should be "an"
There's also a girl outside the pokemon center who says something about "using a ultraball" which should be "an ultraball"

And in the train station, a lady in white says "i wonder when will my father return....." which should be corrected to "i wonder when my father will...."

I know this doesn't affect the game but just to let you know.

But the game has really been improved a lot, at least now i can understand what the people are saying. appreciate your work. Bye.

These are the best tiles I've ever seen, hands down. They are incredible. I noticed a small glitch -- I fainted after the flying scene and got reset at the previous Pokemon Center, where I was then trapped in that town (a guy says it's "dangerous" to leave, and there's no way to fly back).

Gameshark is only fun if you have beaten the game you're using it on. Well kinda...Anyways Wesley hasn't posted since August meaning one of these four.

1. He took a break for a while then came back.
2. He got done scripting and is now beta testing.
3. He got done beta testing and is ready for download in a few days.
4. He could be preparing something for October 26th the 2 year anniversary when the new Light Platinum is made.

I guess I shouldn't be speculating but these could be some of the things he's doing. But I know he did log into his Deviant Art profile on October 18th. I already downloaded a Ruby ROM for whenever it is ready which is either soon or a LONG while.

Well it's October 26, 2010 and two years ago the thread for new Light Platinum was made by WesleyFG. Next year in August Beta 1 was released, and in November Beta 2 was released. We will wait for Beta 3 as it is exiting with 16 gyms, 3 Pokemon Leagues, and old rivals like Lucas, Ethan, Red, Ash, Lunick & Solana. This ROM Hack will even be more fun to play in English when translated by Ash493 and SarcasticPrince. But for now we wait patiently.

That is the old beta 3 which is more similar to Ruby and the tiles weren't that good. You could use a walkthrough walls code but I'm not sure if it will work. I only play the newer version so that's possibly why I don't know.

I can't get it to work, i've tried to patch multiple clean ruby roms, all v 1.0 but everytime i play the rom it just goes white screen! Please help me!

First of all I would like to apologize to people who follow this game for not having updated for so long.
But I also want to say that it is not MY fault, for which succeeded a lot in my life and my university, so my time was greatly reduced for hacking.
All my friends know this because long ago that not use the INTERNET.
But enough talk I want to talk about what is already done and what was prepared, much has been changed and much has been made in POKéMON LIGHT PLATINUM HACK.
And if any problem does not occur surely COMPLETE FINAL BETA, be ready by December (not sure one day) but provalvelmente complete and ready for play.
I'm working on my own in the game at all because I do not have a team because I lost my long contact with my great friends spriters so much time was lost per min to make spriters, making tiles, make maps, and thinking in history many other tasks so I can make a decent hack and good gameplay.

The Rocavely City Leader reminds me of Roark in Platinum's Battleground since the leader has a Ramparados. The types of the leaders are interesting for Lauren. Oddly enough I played Light Platinum today...

When I was playing Pokemon Light Platinum today I had a hard time finding a wild Shinx. A suggestion would be to raise the encounter rate of it? It would help people who start with Cyndaquil but they could catch Seedot too for help. I like how trainer sprites are custom like an example being Yougsters have their Fire Red pose but Diamond/Pearl colors or female Swimmers (oddly named Lady?) resembling a GSC revamped pose.

A great update as usual!
The best thing is that Steel GYM is the last one - it'll be difficult, I'm looking forward to playing the game :D
But one point - 8 HMs and 8TMs that work as HMs. It's an interesting idea, but I would say that 8 attacks are enough "must-haves", double that and you have lowered a variety of attacks twice. It's like if 4 Pokémon out of 6 had only HM attacks. On the other hand, TM attacks can be removed, so it might not be a problem, but still it's a little too much.
Well, never mind, good luck with the hack :) I can't wait to play the complete version :)

The reason on why the Swimmers are named as "Lady" is because they are

HM01 Cut - Cut down small trees

HM02 Fly - Have the ability to fly to towns you've visted

HM03 Surf - Have the ability to surf on water

HM04 Strength (If I underline the letters, it means that it's spelt incorrectly.)
- Have the ability to move boulders

HM05 Lava Surf (I've split it to 2 words, so it'll be grammatically correct.) - Have the ability to surf on lava

HM06 Rock Smash - Have the ability to smash small rocks

HM07 Waterfall - Have the ability to scale through waterfalls

HM08 Dive - Have the ability to dive underwater

Ah... the memories of Pokémon Light Platinum. A hack that started way back in late two thousand and eight. I remember when this hack first started... and when it was very basic at that time and was in the Hacks Showcase, at that time... the Hacks Showcase was less strict back then... and we had the Scrapbox forum (which was removed due to too much SPAM and hacks that would never get finished). Since nowadays we have a more stricter Hacks Showcase and a Progressing Hack. It just amazes me how much this hack has improved so much. Now it has better tilesets and alot more things added to it. The storyline feels more improved as well, I am just absolutely amazed, well done! ^^

Oh my goodness. Why do people always play the old version instead of the new version? It's really outdated. Tell you what. Grammar correcting services are not needed because the Hack is now in a very different language - Portuguese. And there's no such thing as "Beta 4". The final version of Beta 3 is now being worked on. And I can assure you, such things like "bad grammar" will not exist in this Hack as long as I'm here.

I don't think so, because Portuguese is a language that I never learnt.
I know how to speak three languages (Cantonese, Putonghua/Mandarin and English) and write in two languages (Chinese and English).

The upcoming version is the final version. Beta 2 ends in that "certain town", which is, a town called Darkdusk City to be exact.

Yes, I'll change the evolution methods of some Pokémon, for example,
Feebas evolves in Lv. 25; Eevee can evolve into Espeon by using a Sun Stone, et cetra. Anyways, a complete list of new evolution methods will be listed on the 1st page when the translation of the final Beta 3 is completed.

Oh yes, it'll be fixed. The descriptions about the Sinnoh Pokémon will be changed to D/P/P descriptions. We'll be sure to edit the Pokédex if Wesley is too lazy to edit it.

Could you post a picture when you are able too? Obviously after you battled Lucas you saw the bridges disappeared right? I haven't encountered that glitch before, but you don't get surf until the final beta probably around Groment City since it has the fifth gym.

That happened to me too. it will always happen if I'm in the gym and then save, close the game and start the game again. all bridges will be gone. so if i save at the point for example in front of Lucas and close the game and start again all bridges will gone and can't go out. However I use the Walk Through Wall cheat and get out easily. :)

Really? Is that necessary? That'll make the Hack too easy. I plan to do the above changes as well, except for Lunick and Solana having Pkmn Rangers as their Trainer Class. The reason is because they're people who follow you just like Rivals. So, they should have their Trainer Class as "Rival".

And yes, I'll be doing the Platinum entries for Sinnoh Pokémon only.

It's Lucus, to be exact. His name will be Lakey in Beta 3.
To solve the above problem, DON'T use the in-game save. Use savestates.

The source rom used is fine (cant remember which one is used for yours, but for several hacks i have used the correct source rom which i have tested), and for EACh hack that i patch the source rom with, all of them result in a whitescreen. 64 -> 128 does not work, at all.
The source rom, nor the VBA are at fault here. Only when i patch the source rom, do i get the whitescreen which i can't get rid of.

Changing the savetype won't change a thing.
Resetting the Rom right after changing the savetype from 64k to 128k
changes the whole thing.

Sorry to bust your bubble, but that would be a great step in third gen hacking, if it was indeed true. WesleyFG replaced some of the existing pokemon with Sinnoh ones, and did not add them. The effort put, though, is still quite a lot.


Anyway, I'm going to setup a review system, and thinking about trying it first on this hack. So, wait for me, Light Platinum! I'm going to give it a vast playthrough!

Actually as miksy pointed out you can have 0xffff pokemon (or more easily 0xfff), but that would require repointing. I've got a clean Ruby Rom downloaded
I'm using SNESTOOL to patch my Rom with the ips file.

I'm still getting a white screen at the startup. Will anyone help me out?

This question has flooded this thread so many times. There should be a new thread for it. I use python smartips in my mobile to patch this game and still it runs proper.

i think its true as many ppl say, the rom that wesley is using may be glitchy :).

at last my exams are over. Eagerly waiting for the final release.

yea... i'm getting a black screen after the initial rom intro thing. said to use the muds version i think, have it, it works, and it simply goes black after that. any help would be appreciated.

i found the way to fix it. it's on page 87 of this thread towards the bottom. follow those instructions and it'll work fine.

wesley this hack is amazing, i have went through every update it has ever been through. I have to say this is amazing truly an amazing hack, a few questions though?

1) will most Unova and sinnoh pokemon be in it?
2) how did you get 2 regions in one ruby rom?

Wesley said there will be 20 Unova Pokemon in his ROM Hack. Probably in the 25 Pokemon space where you can add new Pokemon? Anyways the final beta didn't come out today but WelseyFG will probably have 3-5 updates before it is released. Also he said it would be out in December, maybe around January or February it will be out....... When it does come out though I will be playing it and having fun, but right now we can wait. :)

Its because that is the old beta three, what I mean is that beta one,two and the new beta three are revammped and better.

Exactly, but we are waiting for the new beta three, the current new one is the new beta 2.

Wesley probably has an a lot more stuff to do even when everything else is done. He has to beta test it or get beta testers and probably fix other stuff. He's probably around 89-91% done but that's only a guess.

When he last updated he was at 83%, so I'd say about 95%, but He probably hit a kink in one of his scripts, or planned events. If you've ever tried anything really complicated you know that it is very easy for it to go wrong.

Try patching another rom. Maybe the one you have isn't quite clean?

VBA is programmed to work only on PCs.
Try playing it on PC instead of your iPod Touch.

i just finished pLaying POKEMON LIGHT PLATINUM B2 ( which was awsome by the way :D )

i hope that the next beta will be more awsome than the last beta i pLayed , i pLayed this quickly because when i finished the 4th gym , it's DONE , i cannot go any futher down the road because it's been cut off .

It will be a while before the final beta is out. Also you got 2nd place again in HotY, oh well. You did try your best though to make an improved version of your ROM Hack, and you did! This ROM Hack and Flora Sky are the only ROM Hacks which I don't mind graphics but I've said that before and kept on saying it.

no i do not want him to make an update...but to tell us something....he know that we are a lot of people that waiting pokemon light platinum beta 3 and some of us log on EVERY DAY and see if it is released. i am not asking him to tell us the release date....but to tell us something.

The theme changes when i play also, how about you download another pokemon ruby from a different website, then use Lips to patch, then check if it works. it should work

Ok, the pokemon ruby base rom i got was from cool rom, so, on google, type "cool rom" download the pokemon ruby and patch, i guarantee it will work, well i hope so. oh, and about the theme, right click on desktop, personalize, then click theme, change it to windows vista, now try to play your game.

Oops, sorry, i just tried it myself and it turned white also, but i have two ruby roms and when i tried the other one, the game worked, I'll give you the website where i found the correct ruby rom, on google, type "pokemon ruby download rom" go to page 2 and click the website that says "rom freaks" the correct ruby base rom is there, i would post the website on here but i cant because i need 15 posts before i can put hyperlinks.

i just downloaded the new beta 2, and it has a different beginning than the older light platinum, and i just realized that...should have downloaded this a long time ago, now I'm looking forward to playing this tomorrow.

This is a good ROM Hack, the second beta ends after you get the fourth badge in Dardusk City just so you know. I believe the beta most likely will be finished by the end of next month or March since it does take a lot of work on this kind of thing.
