Alright guys I have a major problem. I saved before the 3rd gym leader, and after I beat him the water levels went back up and now I cant get out. Im stuck and starting the game over from the beginning does not sound too appealing. Is there any way I can fix this? Im playing this on gpsphone on my iphone.

Guys, MAJOR problem here! I trained my elekid that I picked up at the beginning of the game, it evolved to Electabuzz at level 31 I think. Everything so far went pretty well.

Then when I got Electabuzz to Electivire at Level 40, he evolved but also went DOWN three levels, to a Level 37 Electivire? Now this didnt seem like anything more than a minor glitch, so i saved afterwards anyway. Now, My Electivire is a level 38 and no matter how I level him up to Level 39 (Rare Candy, trainer, wild battle, etc) the game freezes when his level 39 stats come up on the screen. Which basically means that my electivire than i trained all the way throguh the game up to Groment City (where I am now) is completely unusable! Is there any way around this problem?? and will the same thing happen to Magmar when he evolves to Magmortar?! :O

As a second and less-pressing question, where can i egt a Carvanha? I really want Kingdra for my water type but all i get when fishing around the city is Wailmer (Super Rod) and Magikarp (Good rod)... :(

well, you can get kingdra in and carvanha in seanport city, but you have to use surf, no need the rods, and for the elekid, there is a glich in the game that causes this but im not sure about the freezing... mine is level 69 and when he evolved, his level went down, but i still trained it

Create a text file on your computer and give it the same name as your ROM. If your ROM is called Pokemon Light Platinum.GBA, call the text file Pokemon Light Platinum.GBA.cht. Open the file and type in the following:
Walk Through Walls
CE2CCCB25D8D815D
Then save the file and place it in the same folder as your ROM on your phone. Open your ROM in gpsphone and click Toggle Cheats, then select your walk through walls code.

@Impergnator - if you don't want to train another Kingdra, you could always edit Seadra's evolution in YAPE.
@HeroesAndCons - you can catch Carvahna in Marfeny Lake.

Everywhere where water is present, I think Seanport is the best place.
And it's Gyarados, not Gyaradose...

Well I've FINALLY got it working, and after just 15 mins playing the game I'm already extremely impressed! Definitely an amazing hack! 9/10 so far XD

How do I evolve eevee into espeon?
I think it's the same as always and since LP does not have DNS you must edit the evolution in YAPE in order to obtain Espie.

Finally beat that chestnut and now I am stuck trying to find the 7th gym leader..found her in south of mt winter then lost her again.
You need to find her 2 times in Mt. Winter.

It's a known glitch... unfortunately there is no known sollution as of yet.

Erm hey guys I think something retarded happened to me @.@ I was playing this game till I reached the part where I needed to use Lava surf and I realised I ENTIRELY SKIPPED THE 2ND Gym. I have the 1,3 and 4 badges but not the 2nd. This is not a glitch just that I missed it out. Problem is, for now with all the moves I currently have I cannot go back to esmerald city because no boat is there to fetch me back. I don't want to replay again is there anyway anyone can help? Why don't you simply evolve your Magikarp ? It evolves at level 20, it's not that high. Besides, I think it would be quicker than spending hours fishing for a Gyarados. I don't recall finding wild Gyarados until late in the game (like 7 badges or something)...

Guys, I need help with the last stage of the game. I've just beaten the Lauren league and I'm stuck. I've got the World Pass, but i don't know how to get to the world Championships and I don't know what to do. The only thing i've found since then is a fight with Steven in Snowce City, but nowhere else has given me anythign to do yet...
Also, how do you get the tickets to use the Aeroplane and Train?

This game is just a normal Ruby hack in the way that it follows the old attack forms - ie. all attacks of a type are the same:
All fire, electric, water, ice, grass, dragon, dark and psychic attacks are special.
All poison, ghost, bug, flying, steel, rock, ground, fighting and normal attacks are physical. ;)

After beating the 3rd gym in Lauren League, where do you go then? i have gone to Flamery City, but from there i am only go back to the town where you get your first pokemon in Lauren, and there I was allowed to select a starter again, and had to talk to the first gym leader in Lauren to get her back to her Gym again, but couldnt fight here, and then it went in a loop like that, and i could select again, so now i got all the 3 starters(a bug it seems like, and hope i am not stuck in an infinite loop), but i don't know where to go, where to use that Ice Smash, or to get the Aron that is blocking the gym in Flamery to move.

So wtf just happened? I was all the way up to team steam in the town where the 2nd gym was, saved for the night and then this morning my save file opens for me in the first time having not completed the first badge yet. This is where I saved like 2 days ago, and I have probably saved 3 or 4 times since then, and even turned the game off and reloaded without any problems. Its like the game suddenly reverted back 3 or 4 saves.

Any clue what happened? And way to prevent it from occurring again? I have been playing since Wednesday without any issues until now, but I don't want to keep playing is I am randomly going to lose 2-3 hours of game time.

Try using the GBA Tool Advance. Either before or after you patch your rom with the IPS file, patch the rom using the SRAM patcher included in the GBA Tool Advance.

why are u trying to mess around with the saves on mobile? all u need to do is hit the menu button on ur phone and click save. choose an empty slot and click it and it will save for u. at least thats how it for me if ur using the gba emulator by yongzh.

Wow, after 6 different roms, I've finally found one that works... well that was annoying. Not your fault, I know. Just very frustrating. I suppose that's what you expect when you play hacks, though! I love what I'm seeing so far, the tile set is great and I like the story so far.

Only thing I would suggest is that you state that a v1.0 Ruby rom is needed, because that was part of my problem. I didn't have a clue that a specific version was needed until I searched, and even then I read 10 posts before I found that info. As I said, I know it's not your fault but it might save people the frustration, that's all. :)

Definitely a 9/10 so far, though! Will be putting a bar in my sig if this is the standard all the way through. Good work!

I believe what that guy meant about the final version is the one with graphical edits like to the Pokedex and opening intro. The version Ash is talking about is the translated version from Snakebyte. Since Wesley hasn't updated in a while the translated version is technically the final version.

I'm trying to get into this hack but seriously, I don't like the plot whatsoever... it feels childish and cheesy. A "voiced" protagonist doesn't help either. Also, The first trainer I battle already has 4 pokemon? No way to heal my starter except for a single "max potion" (??) that I get from a random girl at the very beggining. After that, well, full teams of level 5 pokemon feels weird. Everybody seems to give you rare or uncommon items (or pokemon) for absolutely no reason. A lot of things the NPCs say make no sense at all.

Sorry if I sound like a jerk, not trying to be one, it's just that the whole idea of this hack, I mean regions, leagues, gyms, the pokemon variety, etc. is so awesome that this could be better game than any of the originals... it's kinda disappointing that a variety of small fixable things cheapen it (for me). I have to give (a lot of) credit to the designing and the size of the project though, it's awesome. I may have to understand that this is a hack after all, and for that I apologize. I know it took a lot of time to be made and I praise and thank the creators for that.

Trust me, it does get better. I felt the same at the beginning, and after discovering that a lot of the 4/5th gen Pokémon weren't programmed correctly (cries, exp given etc.), I wasn't sure whether to keep playing. But I did, and even though the hack isn't perfect, it does gets fun after you get fast the first few towns.

I totally agree with all of these things, it would be wonderful if they could be fixed. Wesley is still active on these forums, but I don't know if he reads these posts. If he does, I hope he realises we would really appreciate an updated version! Obviously it requires effort, and if he doesn't want to do it then that's up to him, but I know I would really love if Wesley could attempt to fix some of these things (changing the exp given isn't that hard, but changing the cries is ((Chaos Rush is doing a great job inserting all of the 4/5th gen Pokémon into Ruby, with correct cries and new moves)) and I don't know how hard it is to fix the problems with the new Pokémon). And by the way, a lot of the trade evolution Pokémon like Lampent, Seadra, etc. can be obtained through in game trade. :)

I already went to the Pokecenter and the ranger chick (never played the ranger games so I don't have her name memorized) told me to go find the gym leader in Mt. Icestorm. I went and found her and the gym leader left for the gym, but she's still not there! I did use and escape rope and flew back to the city. Please don't tell me that doing that glitch my game cus I already saved before entering the gym -,-

I already went to the Pokecenter and the ranger chick (never played the ranger games so I don't have her name memorized) told me to go find the gym leader in Mt. Icestorm. I went and found her and the gym leader left for the gym, but she's still not there! I did use and escape rope and flew back to the city. Please don't tell me that doing that glitch my game cus I already saved before entering the gym -,-

Alright, this is my last try... That download I found was a different version of LP and it was glitched, after the fourth badge I couldn't leave the town through the south or enter the Sky Tower. I liked this hack, though I didn't get a chance to play very much of it. I thought it was sort of neat to get lots of free stuff and lots of rare encounters right off the bat, and using TM Thief on trees outside of battle was pretty neat. Central City was a pretty neat location, and it appeared to have everything so that players would keep returning.

One thing I did notice (and it only dawned on me after obtaining the next starter lineup from Professor Oak) is that you can use your Pokedex in the Safari Zone before you even obtain it. Perhaps Central City wasn't the best place?

the hack is good, but i am seriously aware of the mixed up experience table on a line of evolution, which for whrilpede had 1056980 exp tabl, while its final evolution had 1640000,

and beating salamance / metagross yield puny experience, as it is because the catch rate AND base experience is mixed, and thus is not rewarding to beat those beasts, which is the other point unnerving me.... :(

i had hacked through the experience table to make it plausible, however, when i meet the pokemon at latter internal number, such as ralts (which the game number > 386) and freezes.

If there any possible way to hack through the pokemon table without triggering error, i will be very happy to play that (a rant from an amateur pokemon rom hacker)

for the experience spilt, you can apply the jambo451's ruby split physica/special attack code to there to solve the problem. i used it and it sounds working, as i tried with my bayleaf's razor leaf on a sandslash, she cut a half HP in first strike, but when sandslash used defensive curl, she only can cut him about a quarter of total HP...

So are you creating a 'fixed' version of Light Platinum? I know that grafixt made a version with the fixed Exp. rates, perhaps he could help you?
And if you're using Chaos Rush's physical / special split patch, he said:
...it includes my unreleased font patch. So, in theory, it would work fine with hacks that have the font unchanged. But with hacks that have the font changed, such as Light Platinum, it would make the font look glitchy, but it shouldn't be hard to fix, as you would just go to the font offset in TileMolester and copy+paste from either my patch (which uses Emerald font) or a clean Ruby rom.

And Mt. Kyurem is the narrow path close to the watefall where you met Solana (who was standing in the front of Victory Road cave).

So I have just beaten the 8th gym badge and I am currently fighting the Elite 4. This hack is definitely one of the best. I have noticed some bugs but nothing that has really struck me as experience changing. For the most part everything works well enough to enjoy the game at a high scale. In case there is another version you are working on I will go ahead and post some of the bugs ive seen thus far.

-If you pass the 2nd gym and continue to head North and get a ride on the "Sideways Boat" lol, then you will be stuck without the 2nd badge unless you use the walkthrough walls cheat. Really freaked me out at first.

-There are many impassable spots that are actually passable. Not a big deal just makes for a less polished hack.

-metang family gives no experience hardly and neither does salamence. Again, not big of a deal, so far I havent came across too many of them.

-Some pokemon will get to level 40 (Electivire and Krookodile for example) and will immediately decrease in level to about 35-37. A little aggravating but its whatever. I am sure this isnt the only 2 pokemon it happens with either. Although its the only 2 I have witnessed it with.

-The first time you use dive and you dont have a pokemon equipped with it, it will read out the dialogue in what i suspect Portuguese. I am guessing this goes for all the dive spots when not equipped with a pokemon that knows Dive.

That is really the only things I can remember at the moment. Right now this is my team going in facing the Elite 4.

-Electivire (59)
-Blastoise (63)
-Deino (47)
-Jynx (49)
-Lampent (49)
-Abomasnow (43)

Probably going to have to train everyone up to level 55ish to have a chance seeing how I got to the 3rd Elite 4 person (Steel Type) and got my butt handed to me.

If you're in Serenity, he's in the back of the Power Plant on top of the hill. He doesn't always spawn the first time, so just be patient.

If you're in Snowce, Lunick or Solana (forget which one) will stop you from entering the Pokemon Center to tell you that the gym leader is in Mt. Winter. It's easier to fly back to Serenity and start the whole mountain over since you have to talk to the gym leader twice.

Lampent evolves by trading if I remember correctly.
And you won't find Dusk Stone. This does not have any 4th gen mechanics.

Actually, when you tried to use YAPE to modify the experience table, there would be some mixed up moveset for the last pokemon on the list, include electrive, where their move are around the glitched move instead of normal level up moves.

The proble why electrive dropthree levels while evolution is that due t the mixed experience table problem.............from 1,000,000 to 1,640,000 base experience an dtherefore some mixing would occur............

We can use the pokemon editor (a complete editor developed by hackmew) which can fix the table without many troubles.

i have fixed my rom there and the problem is so far so good, (just had to wade through the hex codes of pokemon, they had got no names....) I also tried to include the new pphysical and special split, hovever, forgive me the buggy counter/mirror coat and hidden power had the problem unresolved, and i replaced it with some shinoh moves including the Aura sphere and dark pulse, which add some special moves for those types with physical only moves.

The nwe mon, i speculate they use up some unown spaces, and i suggest taht if it is possible to replace the original unown with some gen 4 mon, like togekiss, as the unown is not found at wild when i flick through the maps with advanced maps.

For soem ranting about unable to catch bagon in draken mountain, i add a little patch of grassland there so that you can catch them,.l

For further details, i will upload my modification ips, and hope you guys engpjoy. ;)

Sorry Minti, it's just that it's up to you to decide. On one hand you have a high level kadabra, on the other you have a lower level alakazam that has higher base stats, I would go with alakazam, it needs training but is as far as I know alot faster and has high special attack. It's still your decision though. P.S. Thanks alot ash493, I will just keep playing through and hope I will unlock it. I wanted to trade my female jolly onix holding metal coat for my friends male adamant scyther holding metal coat.

Use walkthrough walls if you cannot make that guy disappear by normal meanings.
Mt. Vulcan has kinda messed up flags so it can happen.

First you need to edit LP's header to the same header as normal Ruby by using RHEA.
And editing the original Ruby won't help you since it would not be present in the "patched" ROM ;)

Um, this game isn't working. I tried multiple things too, like a straight GBA file from some website.
When I mount the IPS file to Ruby, then turn on the VBA, all I get is a white screen.
So, I thought I just had to change the save type to 128, and that didn't even work.

boopin, I think you have got a version 1.1 rom, to fix this,
First download a clean Pokemon Ruby, Second Download Lunar IPS patcher. Third download Pokemon Light Platinum ips file. Fourth patch the original ruby file with the
ips file. That should be it!

A bug from this hack that make me quite angry is the bug at Mt.Draken after Lauren league, it makes me can't enter Mt.Draken so I can't capture Trio Bird (although I met all other legends). What a terrible thing. =="

Edit: I've tried twice now, and I can't get the hack working. It just gives me a grey screen. I've patched a few other ROMS, and they've worked perfectly, so I can assume that the patching isn't the problem. I'm guessing the English version either has a bug, or that the Ruby ROM I'm using isn't up-to-par. I've only patched FireRed ROMs, so my Ruby ROM could very well be the problem. I see that some other people have has this problem, but I haven't found a fix to it yet. Thanks for any help. :)

I Was Playing The Game And Found Berry Trees And Im Wondering How Can YOu Get The Berries From It ?

also that berry system is not the best. i would prefer the standard ruby berry picking rather than that.Mostly because you must have a pokémon with the move thief,then if you're lucky you will obtain some super-extra-rare berry ( liechi,durin ,watmel) or if you're unlucky you will get the " seems that this tree has no berries "

This may be a really dumb question...but does this rom follow with the new battling style, i.e Special Moves and Physical Moves being split apart from their element. (Leaf Blade doing Physical rather than Special)
