Unhappyly the new beta of was cancelled, for the reason that my computer was adjusting in these last days therefore was with a very strong virus, and had that to be formatted thus I lost all my data of rom hacking including the most advanced rom of LIGHT PLATINUM, the one that I have now I am one old way and will have that to remake many things in it, I was without computer in these last 15 days and the beta did not walk nothing, I am now in a LAN HOUSE, and will need 15 days more to launch the beta, I am running with the works in it without stopping, am nights and more nights waked up to recoup everything and the new beta already has it a new appearance with many new features that I will only go to disclose in the day of the launching of the new beta, waits! To all fãns I wait that support they can me at this moment of crisis, and that they help me, to continue growing with this project, it is my life! Please they help me and I do not criticize me more I am frustado of what all therefore beyond delaying the launching of the beta, I lost all my data of my computer, soon the new beta waits they forgive and me.

Man I know how u feel... Well not exactly 'cos my problem is much smaller than urs.... I was working on a project that I had to submit in school and my computer got a worm called Win32.Bronkok which stapped me from using firefox and IE so there was no way for me to find info and I was alreasy half way through..... Then the computer engineer who came to fix it said there qould be no need for formatting so I didnt take a backup and then He did format it and I felt so angry...

I think that some legendaries are easier to catch then others as it depends on how easy the pokemon he replaced them with was easy to catch(e.g Dialga/Palkia, correct if im wrong it was an assumption).

Yup Delta, that's one of the things I'd like to do for the hack. I wanna fix some grammar mistakes in the Portuguese version (I'm a Portuguese/English/Linguistics/Literature student on university, and I'm taking classes on text revising ;) ) and help Wesley make an English version of the game. I'd also like to help him with the resized backpics of the 4th generation pokémon, we all know when they're ripped from DS they look awfully big in comparison to other pokémons' backpics, what is kind of a turn off.

The problem isnt releasing a deadline. The problem is meeting it. Something always comes up that delays the progress (RL, boredom, annoyance etc.) which leads to people complaining, being dissappointed and altogether nothing good.

Of course not meeting a deadline is part of the process but those things happen. Sure people are bound to get frustrated, but that just makes it that much better. You cannot doubt the amount of attention this hack is drawing from all around the world. How can you say nothing good. this hack definately has the most hype. But i can see where you are coming from Huaojozu (http://www.pokecommunity.com/member.php?u=83527). We all cant wait.

I have quite easily lurked for a long time but i have allot of respect for wesleys work yet i keep seeing all theses people complaining. Hes trying really hard and he lost allot of that hard work. It takes a lot of hard work and many hours of the day to make a hack, and being in college makes it even harder. Wesley is working very hard, he has to insert every little sprite and tile and translate the whole hack into a language that is foreign to him. It doesn't bother me at all that he is taking a few extra days-in fact, I'm glad that he is. It will give him enough time to make this hack as good as it can be.

Awesomeness. I gotta say though, the bad dialogue really turned me away from this game but I was wrong to judge. It's a very good game and the translation isn't horrible seeing as how the creator's first language isn't English.

As has been said, you can travel by boat on every Pokémon game, but the train is much rarer and therefore feels more original. Of course it would mean a lot more work than boat so that's part of the reason why it wont be implemented.

That sucks. Only Johto have Magnet Trains. 'Cause Johto doesn't have a lot of beaches. However, in Wesley's created region, there are a lot of beaches, palm trees, and everything looks a-ok to travel with sea.

Well, that might not be why the thread was created. It might be created for people to talk about the game, get help about the game, and also for releases for the game. Unless Wes specifically says, we don't know. I'm not saying don't suggest, but at least think of the theme that is in the hack - a Tropical Theme.

Not really, if done right... Light Platinum is in a Tropical Region, like Ruka Prince said. There are many rivers, and water seperating many things, a boat is just easier, and fits more into the Tropical theme. A train would work in an urban theme, but not a tropical one. I would like to see a train in a hack, but not this one, as the theme gets... Well, ruined a little bit.

Why not?
All you had to do is include the location of the file OR make a search program in it, but that would require standby status of the virus creator.

Those things are easier to create than you think.

6. You don't quite get the patching system, do you? Ips patch will modify the changed data on the original ROM.

Why not?
All you had to do is include the location of the file OR make a search program in it, but that would require standby status of the virus creator.

Those things are easier to create than you think.

I agree that it is no that hard as I have a few of the programs that can do that.

I works fine for me. You might try downloading lots of ruby roms from 4shared and patch it to all of them. aside from that I don't know.

I just downloaded a Pokémon Ruby Rom(An American Version(U)), downloaded the Ips file, downloaded Gbata(Google it), then I patched the Rom, opened it up in VBA, changed the save type to 128k, restarted and then it worked fine :)

I am liking the look of it but I'm gonna wait for an English version :)

I too am getting the white screen just as it boots up:( But seeing as i can only read english, i will wait even more patiently, which brings me to my question for anyone to answer...Just how long will it take to translate the new beta to english, just a ballpark number/time?

I thought I'd upload my VBA settings file for those having problems with the white screen(For VBA only)

Put this file into the same folder as your Light Platinum and Vba and it should load fine :)

The controls are set to how I use them so you may wanna change them ;)
