What is Fire Emblem?

Fire Emblem (ファイアーエムブレム, Faiā Emuburemu?) is a tactical role-playing games franchise developed by Intelligent Systems (specifically Shouzou Kaga), the makers of Advance Wars (which shares some of Fire Emblem's strategic elements), and published by Nintendo Co., Ltd. The Fire Emblem series is well-known for its innovation and for being one of the first tactical role-playing games, with a strong emphasis on Western forms of medieval folklore. The series is also renowned for having deeply developed characters, as well as the fact that most units' death—or defeat in battle—is permanent in the game until the end of the playthrough. Trivia

Eliwood, the protagonist of Fire Emblem 7, is the father of Roy, the protagonist of Fire Emblem 6, even though Eliwood's game appeared later than Roy's. Many of the characters of Fire Emblem 6 return in Fire Emblem 7 (although a few years younger)
Fire Emblem 7 is one of the few games to actually have the player join the game as the Tactician, which has it's own sprite.
The Fire Emblem from the title, returns in all games as a slightly different thing, but always as something very powerful, tide to legends.
Gant from the manga based on FE6, is based on the spear you get during one of the chapters in the game. (Gant's Lance)

Yeah, probably, tactical games usually miss the excitement and 'action' of the other games. And it requires a mind while you're playing. XD
As for me, I absolutely adore Fire Emblem. Still playing 7, 8 and 6 (with a patch) and still stuck on some chapters, but I absolutely adore them. Ever read the support conversations between Legault and Heath (FE 7)? Or Wil and Rath (FE 7), Wil and Rebecca? Matthew and Legault? XD They're hilarious. XD

Wow, that's great. =D I would love to play the earlier games too. But only when there's a patch. The game itself won't be that hard to understand since the gameplay itself is quite easy to understand. But I'd love to understand the story as well.

Yes indeed... that's why I'm going to take japanese classes.... xDD I seriously need to learn so I can play the other awesome looking games for my PSP.... hahahhaa...

It's a good thing Lyn isn't too hard to draw for me. She is probably the best female character in ALL of the FE games... Yes I mean ALL of them. hahaha... but that's just me... Most of the other girls are good looking too... makes me wanna go virtual.... MUWAHAHHAHA!

Talking about drawing Lyn... I'm drawing her at this very moment. Well, not just her. I'm adjusting Sain now. XD You could say that Florina is the only one (perhaps Erk too) who's finished now. Sain's face was wierd so he needs a new head. XD And then I gotta do Eliwood again. I hate to draw his face. D: I love the guy, but I hate to draw him.
Perhaps that Serra's done too. (For those that are wondering, I'm making a FE drawing on A3 paper with Florina, Sain, Eliwood, Tactician (yeah, I know there's no actual design for her -made her female-) but I'm doing my best), Lyn, Erk, Serra, Heath and Hyperion). I simply love FE 7. |D;
But you can easily judge that by my theme, no?

About the female fighters, Lyn is indeed a very good character. :3 But I think Eirika (FE8-SS) might prove to be awesome as well.

I've never tried drawing Lyn before. The only one I've drawn in FE 7 was Eliwood, that was like 5 years ago. XD It doesn't look as good as it I thought it did. -_-

I have Path of Radiance.... Beat it four times... I have all the Kings of the three Laguz tribes... too bad I can't use the Goldean king... xDD The King of Beasts is probably the best one... in my opinion... 50 Str!!! O.o!

Hahhaa... I'll give you a small *cough*summary... xD

GBA cartridge game Fire Emblem(AKA The Blazing Sword):

It starts off with a Sacaen(Sacae: the land where nomadic tribes originated) woman by the name of Lyn nursing you, the Tactician, after you fainted or something... She is the only survivor of her tribe called the Lorca Tribe who were slaughtered by some ruthless bandits (I forgot the name of the bandit's group.). She is intent on getting revenge and sets out on a journey with you to improve herself. Lyn is a Lord class character that is similar to the Myrmidon class but I think she's better... XD She meets two knights of Caelin, Sain and Kent, who are searching for the Marquess of Caelin's grandaughter, who is Lyn. They bring news of her grandfather's illness and persuades her to go back with them. She agrees after they defeated some bandits sent out to assassinate her. She then goes to a sacred shrine of a sword of spirits to pray for a safe journey and surprisingly gets the sword of spirits known as the Manni Katti. She then travels towards Caelin, meeting many people who join her on her journey.

People who joined her are: Florina, a timid pegasus knight who is terribly afraid of men but very friendly of Lyn and the youngest of the three sisters whom you'll get later in the game, Wil, a cheerful archer of Pharae, Dorcas, a fighter fighting for his sickly wife, Erk, an uptight and surprisingly clean mage, Serra, the egoistic and loud cleric that Erk is escorting, Rath, the quiet Sacaen bow-wielding horseriding nomad, Matthew, the mysterious yet cheerful thief, Lucius, a surprisingly feminine looking Monk who aids others, Nils, a young and mysterious bard, Ninian, a dancer and Nils' sister(she isn't playable until later), and Wallace, a knight that eventual turns into a general class and former Commander of the Knights of Caelin. Lyn also meets Eliwood, the Marquess of Pherae's son with a guest appearance of Hector, brother of the Marquess of Ostia if you enter a certain house on the map you get Lucius. They march towards Caelin and confronts Lundgren, the Marquess of Caelin's brother and next in line of the throne...if he dispose of Lyn, and defeat him. And so on...

That's the first part of the game... You should try getting it on an emulator or something... It's very good...

That is indeed the summary of the first part, which more like an introduction to how the Fire Emblem games work. Let's not forget that Fire Emblem 7 was the first game to be introduced to the people outside of Japan. And unlike the Japanese (who had already 6 games with similar game play), those folks had never played Fire Emblem. That's why I suggest to new Fire Emblemers to start with either 1 or 7. I have not yet played 1 (guess I'll leave that to Shadow dragon), but I'm happy I started with 7. It's an awesome game. ^_^ It gave me very high hopes for 6 and 8 (gotta do it with those on VBA), but I was a little disappointed by the absence of the Tactician. The little sprite was quite adorable~ (made me wonder what the Tactician would look like) The player was more connected, more a part of the game, instead one who just controls all characters.

Anyways, about the pairings in FE7. I have two (or three) that I'd love to see happening~
1) Heath x Priscilla - The proud Wyvern Rider and a shy troubadour~ perfect combination. Her clothes match with his hair. XD
2)Rath x Lyn - They're both Sacaean. Meant to be together. And Sue (FE6), Rath's daughter looks a lot like Lyn.
3) Pent and Louise - Okay, they're already married, but who cares. They're adorable together. XD

I think either Micaiah and/or Lyn would be excellent additions to Smash Brothers. For one thing because I've been peeved as to why there isn't more females(with the ones in it either being in pink dresses or too-tight suits, XD), and because I like their style. ^^

And on the topic of Smash Brothers, I still believe its best quality is the fact that it is what brought Fire Emblem to North America. =D

Yes indeed! If Fire Emblem had never come across the seas... We'd still be basking in other unfulfilling SRPGs.... hahaha... And I wouldn't have able to play the OTHER Fire Emblem games and be intrigued even more by the different versions... and along with the SSMB Melee & Brawl series, Fire Emblem has gained even more popularity! Though they don't even know that those Fire Emblem characters came from the Japanese verions... Lol!

But I do believe Lyn would be a good candidate and on Micaiah... I only know she can heal with her touch so her battle experience is unknown to me... hahaha... But if u insist Alakazam then I wouldn't see why. I've still yet to play RD... so yeah...

Okay, back on topic. It was the same for me, I discovered Fire Emblem with Super Smash Bros. Brawl. =D Or rather finally decided to play it. I had seen PoR and RD before in stores, and the covers were pretty cool.
But Marth being my main brawler, Fire Emblem got in my sight again. Wee~ And off I went with FE 7.

As for a new FE'er in SBB:

I wouldn't mind seeing some more Fire Emblem characters in the SSB series. =)

To accompany Marth and Ike in their Swordsplay: Roy (FE6) or his father Eliwood (FE 7), Lyn (FE7), Eirika (FE8)
Those with lances/Axes could do long-range attacks, but they are more vulnerable when they throw their lance/Axe: Ephraim (FE8), Hector (FE7)

Their final smash would either be a devestating move, or an even more devestating move in their promoted class.

Or while we're at it, why not throw a Wyvern Knight or Pegasus Knight in as an Assist Trophy?

Oh, wait. Just like TOA said, magicians would be a nice add on too. Their final smash could be engulfing the whole battle arena to deal maximum damage instead of damage to only one person.

Oh, talking about Pegasus Knights, the three Pegasus sisters, Fiora, Florina and Farina could be like the Latios and Latias assit trophy. ^_^

I discovered Fire Emblem while browsing through random GBA games... Thought it looked cool and decided to buy it and now I'm here... Total FE fanfreak... xD Though I'd have to admit it was hard at first... units kept dying and all... but hey... I was a middle schooler... xD

OH! (Blade Lord) Lyn's finishing move can be when she criticals with Sol Katti... Now that would be the bomb... but it would only target one person... T-T Her regular weapon critical might work too... xDD

Roy could also do his critical with the Sword of Seals and blast a wave of heat straight across the screen... ^^;

Cavalier and Blade lord? Both seem like a very nice choice. But I think I'll stick to the magic~ Mage I think... I don't picture myself as a monk like Lucius, and not as a druid like Canas (although I'm a bookwurm as well. 8D ) I don't like to attack directly, but rather from a safe distance. And magic is just plain cool. I'm not saying I wanna be like Erk, nothing like that in fact. (although Erk is pretty cool...)

If I could not be a mage, I'd love to be either a Pegasus rider, a nomad (à la Rath) or a Wyvern Rider. I can't picture myself as either one of them, but they're pretty good classes. (not the mention I'm a total dragon wyvern freak). Or the tactician in FE7? XD


The reason why I made that rp-thingy, is not because we are going to rp, perhaps in the (near) future, but not yet, but because I've been stuck with this character in my head. (seriously, it's annoying)

Hahaha... Some like it and MOST don't... I think they find strategy games a bit too much for them. But I'm an anime fan so the art drew me in... and then I was baffled by the gameplay. Then after weeks of playing, I understood almost all of that game... Lyn and Hector were always level 20 with the exception of good o' Eliwood. :P Too bad my Tactics rating is always a 1 star... xDD Fire Emblem was cruel to me.

Fire Emblem: TSS now... I think I have it somewhere... My units are all maxed out in stats and levels with all the relics still intact... xD The zombie dragons though sure pack quite a punch but still simple to dispatch. I finally finished the chapter in FE 7 where you have to fight Kenneth and NO ONE died this time. :3 I only didn't use Merlinus and Hector did all the Kenneth Killing (with a little help from Sain and the female Paladin to do the rescuing and from Priscilla to do the mending/healing) Rath did a little shooting, but didn't help much. =3

It's sad how Lyn comes in when Rath dies... and all he says is "..." Makes me feel as if Lyn and Rath care lot for about eachother (at least SHE about him). Must be a pretty emotional scene when Lyn sees Rath getting hurt badly and she tries to run towards him, but one of the other males (guess that would be Eliwood or Hector) holds her tightly so she can't run into the fire and get hurt herself. [*Imagination runs wild now and then*]

Well, probably the other reason why I don't like shooter games. =d With Tactical Games you have to use your brain, instead of doing all, you know mindless killing... In Fire Emblem you kill too, but you have to know your team's weaknesses and strengths. Will you send that character or rather that one? Will you use someone as canonmeat (rather not) and make sure that your other character that will do the finishing blow, reaches the spot on your next turn? Or will you make sure that someone with high defense will protect those that are weaker? There's a whole plan-making going on when it's your turn. Most games really are a "break from all"
Well, at least that's what I think. =/ Don't mind do differ.

I don't have advanced as far in FE8 to make a full comparision between Seth and those from FE 7. I'm not sure who can promote to Paladin class, but after taking a (very) quick look around the net, I came up with these guys:

Of these guys, Sain would be the one I use most. But I don't know why for sure. =/ At one point, I guess, I found him better than his companion Kent. xD

Hahaha... I tried not to use Seth too much so I could level up my other characters (Eirika, Franz, Gilliam, etc.). He was indeed a powerful shield... That is until Gilliam walked into the picture for me... hahahaha... The general skill is pretty cheap too... full protection from an attack. Shesh...

Sain for me... his support conversations with the ladies, (Ahem, yes almost his whole list is of women hahaa...) were hilarious and some were just weird. But I think he is a good cavalier to use early in the game... it's just his skill is a little sloppy, which sometimes does not get the work done but his sword/lance arm is very powerful. I think it can be up to par with Marcus'... if you managed to level Sain up to lvl 20 before promoting him (Which was a total pain in the crotch! Did it in Lyn's story...).

It has been a while since I last played my Fire Emblem... if only I can find it... Going on, I think a good character always to use is Raven. Mercenary stats are pretty high for STR, SKILL, and SPD, making them ideal front line warriors but Raven's Defense a bit on the low side... Regardless, I still think Raven's cool... just a little cold sometimes... hahaha... Good O' Raven. Compared to Gerik of the Sacred Stones, Gerik has more dominating base stats compared to Raven. Gerik's defense is better and his constitution is a high 13 making him weild weapons like sticks and no reduction in avoiding and the other negatives from overweighted weapons. Overall Gerik is better than Raven but after both have become Hero-class characters, the going gets tough there.

Oh! There is also a very cheap trick to leveling up your characters in FE 7 and it involves Ninian and the Ninis' Grace, and two pegasus knights perferably Florina as one of the two. That's all I'll tell you... oh and you need an arena as well... hehehehe... think about it... hard. I'll tell the answer next time... maybe...

(forgot how much for a female druid) whoop-dee-doo... and they have high skill and speed as well... very dangerous them druids.... though his light blue and red colors were a bit annoying... hahahaha... You're a Druid for goodness sakes!

I actually made Neimi go into a Ranger class rather than the regular Sniper class... The extra use of a sword is good and all but... the beauty of a female sniper is so much more enticing to me... I always have a female sniper(Neimi, Rebecca, etc,)! Hehehe... they look sexy in those skirts...

1) I DO read the Fire Emblem Manga. I have yesterday read chapter 34 of the Hasha no Tsurugi (FE6) Manga, and I have read ALL of Marth's manga that is available on Mangafox
It's not because I'm a shoujo fan, that I don't know when I have a good Shounen manga in my hands. :3 But you could say that I'm more of a fan of the character devellopment then the mindless killing. ^_^

Oh yes, almost forgot! I'll even put it up here hahaha... Support conversations are very easy to get... But a bit tedious if you ask me and will bring down your overall ranking of certain things in the game (You know the Tactics, Survival, blah blah blah. Yeah that...). You need to place two characters with the possibility of making a support conversation adjacent to each other (no not diagonally if you're thinking that... xD). Then you must wait around 50 turns (some pairs take less...) and then you'd get the support, but remember that you can only get a total of 5 support conversations and only one in each chapter. Always aim for the two you want for an A conversation, in Kippy's case HeathxPriscilla (I won't lie but I always do this one xD), and place them next to each other. A good place to get 50 turns is a boss guarding a throne/gate since they need to stay there thus won't move to attack meaning a lot of turns to wait and do nothing... Lol. If you really want all the supports, then you must play through Hector's story as well since one key character can only be obtained in his chapter (Hint: She is a sister of the sisters... =D) and possibly a few more times since the list is huge and... yeah. Okay if you need any more advice or something, post it up and I will gather the most of my knowledge and aid you however I can. Now I feel like the Tactician... Hahahahaha! Erm... not sure if I should spoiler tag this.... but whatever.
After checking online once more, you can actually get two key characters from Hector's that you won't get in Eliwood's story with them being Karla and Farina.

@ Kippy- I do caution on this small bit under here. It is a small opinion and a slight spoiler about Nino... But I suggest you read nonetheless... since I took the liberty and time to write it... Ahem! xDDD

When you DO get Nino... she will be weak as crap... but do try to level her... She has a total 30 magic power as a Sage! O.O! (Women these days... overpowering the men with their intelligent minds... :O) She's speedy and her skill is above average and you might get lucky with a high resistance with her... I tend to get so-so resistence at about 18-22... but she was by far a very good Sage in comparison to Pent and Erk... even almost the Archsage... hahaha.... But he's cheating because he's got the Dark magics as well... LUNA PWNAGE!

Lucius is very very powerful if you managed to train him in Lyn's story (I didn't bother because I had trouble finding light tomes... :D).


Pent is technically a Sage, which Erk becomes if you promote him.


LOL! I didn't mean that... I know he's a Sage... It's the part I said about him being the Magic General... Read this! Pent is the Mage General(I found it! Hehehe!) of Etruria, one of three of Etruria's most powerful generals . There's also the Knight General, a Paladin class character that was never revealed, and the Great General, a General class character also never revealed. (This info's from FE 6: The Sword of Seals. XD)

Yes, I did get Ismaire. I jacked her Wind Sword and gave it to Marisa... Hahaha... She was okay but Marisa was better trained.

Easier for the opponent... I don't know... In the beginning, I'd say Lyn because she has terribly low defensive stats (Blame the Myrmidon class!) even with her great speed, almost two attacks from a General-Boss could kill her... assuming your Lyn got some good stat gains in Hp and Def. But if she is well-trained... she can own a General-Boss as well (Manni Katti is an almost godly weapon!).

Anyways... Time for a little more input and discussion.... on my part. =D
Hrm... I thought Hector was a major tank because his class is related to the knight/general class so he was unable to get hit as much with his high defense plus he has higher speed than a regular knight, however, he did lack speed very much... until he gets promoted! :O

Lyn was a speed god and only the best lancemen could edge in a blow but just barely. She is just too godly when she promotes to Blade Lord being able to kick major butt against air AND infantry... Darn her godly Sacaen prowess! XDDD

Eliwood was always great at the beginning but then for me, he begins to become a shadow behind Hector and Lyn in the later parts since both their class can outmatch Eliwood. Overall though, Eliwood is a very balanced lord but I think he's the weakest of the three... :X If only I could had gotten his lance mastery up to B... hahaha...

Compaired to how Lyn, Hector and Eliwood are now in my game, I'd say Hector outranks them all. With major attack and defense, he walks through everything, well, almost everything. XD
But his movement range is not that big. =/ Compared to Lyn's and Eliwood's. Heavy armor really must slow a man down.
Lyn's attack is superior to Eliwood's at this moment. [ I should really train Eliwood more >_> He's awesome and I fail to train him properly X_X]

Okay to answer Blazeavile's question, it is actually a bit complicated (Heh!) but I'll do my best to explain...
Before reaching that chapter (chapter 24 i think...), there will be a combination and then more-or-less than scale for your magic users' levels and your hero crest characters' levels (basically those who uses a Hero Crest to promote. ex: Myrms, Mercs, Fighters). If the magic users' combined levels are more than the hero crest user's than you will get the map with Kenneth(Bishop) and the possibility of getting Karel(Swordmaster). If the hero crest users' levels are greater than the magic user's levels, you will get the map with Jerme(Assassin) and the possibility of getting Harken(Hero). Yep... that's about it for the explanation... I think... Urgh... my brain is hurting now... hahaha...

Talking about Handheld to console, my first experience with console (on tv) was quite good. :3 I can't say which one I like best. Handheld has it's own benefactors, and same for tvstuff. It's nice to see the characters 3D, though. :O

Nah, I don't think that's the reason why they like Soren that much. As a girl, I can see why girls tend to like him. He's not your usual Bishounen (Shinon's one as well, but he's an usual one), since he's got quite the femine site (at least on the outside), compared to other Laguz like Rajaion (see spoiler) who is far more masculine built.
But Soren's an underdog, with quite an interesting history as I have heard. Add to that his long flowing hair and glare, and you got a nice base for the fandom~

Reyson is another sort of Laguz, while Soren, Rajaion and company are Dragon Laguz (weredragons if you want), he's a Heron. And you got the Tigers, Lions and cats (Ranulf, Lethe)

Nope... I have only 'started' playing FE 8... I'm stuck somewhere across Eirika's route... (I'm lame I KNOW >: ) I'm 'stuck' in FE 7 as well... there are way too many bad guys in that chapter. Either Rath, Sain or Hector dies... (buh, I want them promoted, Hector is lv 18, Sain 17, Rath is lower, but I dun wanna loose him >: ) I want them promoted in that level, but they all die too soon. Me: *resets VBA*)

Talking about FE8, I found a drawing by a Japanese Artist featuring Ephraim, Eirika, Tana and Innes. The girls aren't drawn that nice IMO, but I like how she drew the boys. It's hard to find Art where Innes looks like who he is, but not too different. =/

Erk's awesome as a character and fighter. :O Serra is cool as a character and I used her until I meet Priscilla. XD

FE 4 is actually my favorite FE. One, 90% of your units use horses so hit and retreat tactic is a pleasure. Two, a lot of the characters are overpowered to the point that the chars in the later game look like a joke. A certain swordmistress goddess can hit 20 times. ^^;; And three, I am BIG fan of supports so in FE4, any female can support with any male in the game (except the main char since he's canon with a certain light mage), get married, have a son and daughter, and in the second half of the game, you get to play the kids. ^______^ So matchups are very important in the first half to help stat boosts in the second half. Oh and best of all, too many male candidates for the females. ^^ Haha.

That conversation between Hector and Eliwood brings back memories, more so because I am a 100% Lydia/Eliwood fan and that conversation is reeked of it. XD The Serra/Erk one is of course love because they are my favorite FE couple of all time. :)

Does anyone agree with me that the Manakete (those who can morph into dragons) are pretty much like the Laguz? Well, the concept at least. From what I've heard the history of the dragon Laguz is a lot more complicated and sadder as wel. :0 I'm not up to date with the history of the branded (I've only played 7 chapters of FE 9, and none of FE10) and I'm certainly not up to date with the earlier FE games. But that's what I think. =/

@Rosewisteria Mages ftw! When I heard it's best to put mages behind the defenseline, I had to lol... seriously. I always let Erk, Lucius and Canas go ahead. XD Erk's defense (and his avoiding ability as well) was good. :O

On Lyn/Eliwood and Roy thing: IMO, I don't see any of the girls in Roy. Roy seems to have strictly inherit from Eliwood. This is the same with a lot of the other chars as well. I see a lot of Rath in Sue, a lot of Nino in her twins, etc. This way, I believe, they can make the partner as ambiguous as possible, which benefit them as a whole since it's no fun to give an official pairing to games like this. The only character (again IMO) that even suggests strongly for a certain partner is Hector/Florina and Lilina. At the end of FE7, Hector says that Lilina is a lot like her mother and Lilina is a shy, yet mature woman, which reminds me of Florina more than Lyn or Farina. Other than that, I believe they try to make every pairing as official as the next.

I don't hate many pairings. I either love, meh, or neutral with them. Now, Ninian/Eliwood I hate. :P So I won't try to discuss this one at all. XD

Well, there are people who beg to differ. I wouldn't know, I've always been a Wil (now I am) and Rath user (he takes way too long to come back ;-; ). Many Fire Emblem analyst's (aka players with too much time on their hands) prefer Rebecca over Wil. Apparently she's way better than him when trained. But as I said, I wouldn't know. =o

*shakes head* I don't see Ninian as a little girl. Nils, who is her younger brother, is at least 13,14. 15 wouldn't be a surprise either. I think Ninian would be 17,18. =/ Which is not that different from Lyn, is it? Eliwood, I guess, is in his early twenties. So they don't differ that much.

Ugh. The sight of Ninian's name just makes me cringe. Don't ask. She is one of my least favorite female character out of ANY video game. And that's not the only reason why I despise the Eliwood/Ninian pairing either.

Oh. I know Wil/Rebecca can be argued as canon by how Wolt looks. I have no problem with it. :) I like the pairing just fine. I just prefer Raven/Rebecca and Wil/Florina. And then I like Hector/Florina over Wil/Florina so.. XD I don't know anymore!

And as one of those people who have too much time on their hands and play FE7 10 times by now (it's been 3 years since I picked up the game though), I can safely say I prefer Rebecca over all the other available archers. ^_^ But Wil's personality is cool. Heck, most of the characters in FE7 are so loveable. Except Ninian.

Agreed, most characters in FE7 are awesome. Eliwood, Lyn, Hector, Sain, Wil, Erk, Heath, Priscilla, Raven, Canas, Serra (!), Erk, Lucius and many, many more. :3

Oh, hey, anyone who played FE9 -PoR and can answer this question?

In chapter 10 -Prisoner released (chapter where you can hire Volke), you get to meet 4 people in prison.
Nephenee, a knight, and a mounted unit who's sworn that he'd be Oscar's mortal enemy (or something like that), and a pilgrim named Sephiran. You can talk to the latter one, but he won't join you, right? Well you meet him later in PoR? Just a yes or a no is enough.

This is when Naesala rescues Leanne from the tower and that old raven was with him. That lion is one of the Laguz that were brainwashed and experimented. The term for what they were called was used during that chapter(I forgot the term but it's after you fight the Black Knight and get Ena or Nasir(Super Godly)

You miss A LOT if you don't play PoR first hehehe... It's pretty sad some parts... But I just go for the girls! *Laughs maniacally* ^^; From what I heard, RD is more tougher in terms of tactical battle than PoR but I think PoR is tough in it's own ways. (I haven't lost any units in any of the story modes except on one Ashnard battle when he went demon god mode. I fell asleep and moved my Astrid up to him when Ike, Nasir and Giffica were fighting him. She died of course and I woke up mad. :P)

-You will ALWAYS need two mounted units (one preferrably Florina(unevolved) since she can carry anything = or lower than 16 build{meaning everyone xD} and maybe another flyer or a cavalier/paladin), Ninian with Ninis' Grace, and an arena.
-The next part is to clear off all enemies except the boss(most maps with arenas will have a boss).
-Now have *the desired unit to lvl up* with Ninian and the other 2 said units (peg. knights are preferred due to their flying status) around the arena.
-Make sure all units are able to do an action. (End your turn if necessary.)
-Use Ninis' Grace on the unit and then make him/her do the arena battle. (Ninis' Grace will have effect and increase your unit's Def&Res by 10)
-After the unit is finished, let one of the two units rescue the unit. End the turn. The unit will retain the Ninis' Grace while being rescued.
-Next turn let the OTHER flyer/horseback unit drop the unit by Ninian so she can REFRESH that unit so it can move again.
-Then repeat the process of going to the arena and duel for money & exp.

Fire Emblem is a fantastic tactical RPG; I love the characters and battle styles so much. Path of Radiance was good, yet I didn't spring for the sequel because I heard it was intensely long and gets pretty complicated. (Should I go back to get it?)

I'm so psyched for Shadow Dragon coming out in February, though.

You might as well try to draw existing characters (I wouldn't recomend to start with the FE characters... they're quite detailed.) But they're good for anatomy. :3 The FE anatomy is quite neutral. Not too long like the shoujo, not too short like the shounen. (if you get what I mean. That long/short thing is a huge exaggeration. But Usually shoujo guys have longer bodies compared to shounen guys. I know what I'm talking about. XD)

I agree with you completely. And I'm pretty fond of the idea that FE isn't mindless killing. you have to think. :3 And you don't wanna loose your units, because they're more than simple, "flat" pawns. They have a history and a personality. =D

I haven't played RD yet, I only just got PoR, so I'm gonna finish that one first. I wouldn't mind playing RD, just for the experience. But I too, heard that RD was probably one of the hardest FE games of the series.

Yes, there is actually. (I think you'll find it later in PoR but I'm not too sure.) If my memories are correct, El- would be the C-level of the anima spells.

Well~...... I've still no clue on how we are going to decided on the classes... How about we create our own mix?!?!?! I have ideas swarming in right now... Like a Magic wielding Pegasus Knight! (I'm lame hahaha...)
They should bring in some classes from FE4. (I like the Mage Fighter(can wield S-class thunder spells and A-class for Wind, Fire and Sword xD) for Tiltyu and Tinny but the Master Knight is so.... overpowering? It can use all weapons!!! Lol.) Since they have a third-promote classes now in RD, we COULD do something like Jr. Lord--> Lord --> (Insert) Lord (SNIPER LORD!!!) ^^

We could do levelling up with a certain amount of post. Having 10 or, perhaps rather 15 or 20, posts will allow you to promote. And if you're not happy with what you are, you can change class after another certain amount of posts. And you can switch weapons (with posts). XD
We could do a lot with this now I think about it, but it's just a question how to realise it.

We could do random number draws after two post (or after every five posts since two can go fast)... Maybe 1-100? And you pick five numbers and maybe Kippy or me do the drawing to see if the number is drawn (I actually have numbers on index cards up to 100). If no than they recieve (insert) amount of exp (dunno about that part yet), if they get a number than they level up! That is probably more reasonable than rolling some dice or any other thing... (Unless someone else comes with a better idea hehehe). Goal to level up will still be 100 exp... but that's my little idea.

ah... Hm... I might have to get back to you on that tomorrow... I have to go somewhere so I'll reply on some tips tomorrow... So endure! (..... Uncle is actually lagging so I'll throw some stuff on you to help out.)

First and foremost, you will need a hefty amount of mounted units to compliment your slower walking units with rescues when needed. The floors will disappear quite quickly (maybe 5-7 turns after they appear) so your goal is to hit fast and hard while keeping your moving momentum. You don't technically HAVE to use the max amount of units but feel free to. (I always use the max for the hell of it hehehe...) One thing for sure is if you can manage to get your crew of airborne units over to the far right side where Sonia is and obliterate the bottom units, all of the connecting pathways will appear permanently.(I forget sometimes since I have NOT attemped this in a while. Hehehe...) Only attempt this if you reached the middle of the map since it's a huge risk for your air units to just go bravado and hope to reach the far side unscathed while trying to evade all those units, especially the dragonriders and dragonlord. (I'm starting to sound medieval hahaha...)

You probably might need some tankers in front most of the time but keep another in the back in case ambush units appear, which will be later. If you go around the top side *which u probably will*, a good choice would be to keep Jaffar in the back with a healer(not technically needed since Jaffar can evade pretty much any lower level unit *Ahem except possibly high skill myrms/swordmasters and heros, mercs are so-so*) and another tanker to engage the ambush units. If you're lucky, you will get 2 peg knights and a falcoknight instead of the dragonriders(which is a *PHEW* XD) that spawn in the bottom 3 staircases and use your flyers to intercept those, if they can manage. (I'll need to know what units ambush you.)

Be careful of the berserk-using Bishop in the mid-right side of the map. Usually he berserks my Jaffar (a total pain since Jaffy can 1-hit with Silencer sometimes) or any other unit within his range of the staff, so keep a handy whatcha-ma-call-it staff to restore whoever gets hit by it( and turns mad). You can always steal it with some of the other items around carried by units but be careful since Merlinus will NOT join you in battle hence the need to carry only a few items into battle. (I suggest giving Jaffy a lockpick since he can still use them for the top-right treasure hoard later.)

Uh.... Use these for the time being and then report ot me your results... If there is no progress... Then SEND ME THE SAVE FILE! (I assume you are using the VBA lol.)

Thanks for the hints, Naruto, they really helped. Putting Hector and Jaffar on the rearside really helped to do away with the inforcements. Luck helped a little as well. I managed to beet Sonja with Oswin, who had only 2 hp left. I didn't get all the chests, but ... whatev.
And now I'm really out of healing staves. x) I hope that in the next chapter, I can get to the stores quickly. Sell and buy stuff. 'cause I need it. XD
But hey, I got Lucius and Rath promoted. So it ain't that bad. XD

Hehehehe... Linus is actually hard... (then again I'm thinking he has a tomahawk and a Light Brand) since his strength, skill, speed and defensive stats are pretty high. (Not as high as Lloyd though (skl/spd wise) if you fought him.) Lyn will get a major workout in this stage and you can even pit her against the bandits and fighters on the left side. Training Nino is highly advised... She will be a major hitter until the end chapters (assuming you managed to level her up decently on the earlier map.) She is the only female character to reach a 30 Str/Mag stat plus her overall stats are above average (excluding defense but if you're lucky... you might hit around 20ish...) Good luck on your clash against the Mad Dog, Linus!

If it comes to it, Sacrifice someone to keep him busy.

Just power through on to the castle and always check his attack range..

Yeah, should keep that in mind. XD From the moment the area is starting to get quite empty, I'll send Eliwood back. x) He needs to gain another level before I finish this one.
But for now FE7 is pushed a little aside, seeing as I can finally fully enjoy FE9. I'm quite interested in the Laguz, and I think the story of FE9 is quite awesome. 8O Not to mention the bird kings are hilarious (well at least Naesala WAS hilarious untill he did that thing with the thing that everyone thought was extinct... >_<#) He's gotta do some serious good bussiness if he wants to get back in green with me. x) Reyson seems cool. :O He reminds me a little too much of Krad (on the outside at least), but I'll ignore that. (On the other hand, Naesala's smirk reminds me of Dark. x) <- I got an emblem for thinking these things XD )
Tibarn seems like the most trustworthy of them all, the most relaxed, confident king... Although this is just my first glimpse judgement. I'm about to play chapter 17 (Day Breaks). Unfortunetally, I was unable to recruit one of the knights in the previous chapter. I seemed to have picked the wrong person... Gah. >.<

Oh, and absolutely adore Lethe <3 She's an amazing unit. =D As I said, I'm very interested in the Laguz and she's fantastic. And it's so cute when she's about to do a critical. She purrs or meows a little. So cute. XD (*cough* I'm repeating myself...)

Ike is a decent lo-... ranger as a character. He's totally the opposite of Eliwood, or Marth (I think) as well. Ike's a loudmouth, rude at times and quite a hothead. But his intentions are pure, but it's like Nasir says: "You're convictions are that way because of your youth and innocence. Someday they will be tested." It's the hard thruth. And not just for a Video game, but also in real life. :B
And he's a good unit as well. Quite the swordsman. XD Got him to lvl 20, so he won't be far from promoting... unless it's like Eli and he's gotta wait until a certain chapter?

Anyways, the artwork never ceases to amaze me. And I think the characters are amazing as well... But I keep thinking I love the characters of FE7 much, and much more.
Rath > Astrid, Erk > Soren (he ain't that bad, but at his current level, Erk pwn'd everyone, Soren doesn't. Soren is a 1-hitter, Erk a 2-hitter), Guy,Lyn, Karel > Mia, Zihark, Florina > Marcia (lol, when you recruit her brother), and so on. I can't say I dislike the characters of FE9, no not at all. Just, those of FE7 seem more special(?), dunno how to put it. ô_o

To get Stefan.... (If you didn't look it up in the net yet lol) In that desert stage by the top right corner, take Lethe/Mordecai there and count from the very upper corner left 2 and down 3 spaces (or left 3 and down 2 spaces, I forget which one it is) and put them in that spot. And then... TADAH! Stefan for you...

Oh and I'm surprised you didn't know Lloyd was a nice guy... Hehehe... He was pretty cool.

Oh and about your characters on FE7... All my lords were level 20 when I hit the chapter where you fight Lloyd/Linus (Ahem if your lord's levels < or = [40 or 45, since I forgot], you fight Linus and vise versa for Lloyd.) Not sure how I did that but yeah. I had a promoted Rebecca, Raven, Fiora, and Oswin(never used him again lol) before that chapter and then on that same chapter fighting Linus, promoted Heath, Priscilla, Rath and Guy. (Lol... I'm surprised I can still do all that...)

D: And when I wanna take out the archer, my units come in attack range of Naesala who happily attacks them. (I still don't hate him, but that can change... XD)

Hehe, I did some bus traveling around the city because they were free last week. Anyway, I had a few things in mind that I was looking for, including Fire Emblem: Sacred Stones. And after searching through 4 EB Games, 1 Microplay, 3 Zellers, and even a Wal-Mart(lol), I finally found it at a GameStop in Orleans! For only four dollars and change! :D

I bought it, obviously, and immediately started playing when I got home, and I am at Chapter 6 currently. I had almost forgotten how much I loved these games *le gasp*. And as always, I refused to let a character die, which caused me to restart Chapter 5 like half a dozen times so that I could keep Vanessa breathing. ^_^

Oh! That's awesome news. I've been dreamed of Marth, Ike and Eliwood teaming up, but I suppose that if they'll do it, they give Roy priority, since the he got into Melee. =/ I suppose that if two games follow each other directly (like 6 and 7) they'll choose characters of one game? Although it'd be cool to see Eliwood and Roy fighting side by side. One minor problem: if Eliwood dies, Roy's a goner as well... But still. You know, this thought gives me an idea for a drawing. :3 I'll entitle it "His father's back", to the song on the FE9 OST (which is great, btw).

IKE! 8D That guy's awesome as a lord. 83 He rarely gets hit (even by magic) and his Aether Skill is awesome! Kills even a heavy-armored Knight in an instant. It's a funny sight though. Ike has risen on my FE Character list. :3 Although I'm not an Ike user on Brawl, he's still awesome. XD
People hate him because he replaced Roy, I don't mind. Path of Radiance is awesome. Uh, I realised how much I used 'awesome' in this post...Well, gets the point across, no? XD

Uhm, if I have to choose between what Ike I think looks best, I'd say Lord in PoR. It's good it isn't black, but a dark green. Ike wouldn't look good in black. It'd curse with his hair. And I think in RD, the artists overdid it. -sigh- only three years have passed and he looks "overtrained?". Gawd he's like 20, and he looks much older. Although... it seems better in the actual game (go to the first page for a screenshot) It's like they got his outfit by choosing several things from his previous outfits. :3 OF course the red cape from the Ranger Class, the thing around his leg from Lord and so on.
*grin* Compared to Ike, Eliwood looks like a real softy. *snort* Even though Eliwood is probably a little older than Ike. XDD

Ike is luv! He's amazing. 8D Ok. He can take out a general with his Aether as well. The only one -that I know of- that comes close to Ike's awesomeness, is Hector, because, if you give him an axe he goes on a rampage. XD

Support conversations are a mighty invention. Probably one of the best things in the whole series of FE. Support conversations are hilarious, sad, crack, informative, boring, not necessairy, great, wonderful and offer a great deal of hidden information to get to know who it is your fighting with. They give a (pixel)sprite a personality, which is odd to say, but to me, one of the major reasons I like FE. The characters exist. They have a name, a face, a personality, a history. They're not mindless killingmachines.
Remember Jill when she had to fight her father? She told Ike she wasn't feeling 100% (she meant to say that, but Ike took the words out of her mouth), Heath surrendered because he couldn't bear watching how Bern killed innocents, Haar came to visit Jill in the Crimean Camp to help her (his personality is awesome. Bloody serious, but oh so sleepy)can't wait 'till I get him at chapter 23, and so on. =O The character devellopment is amazing. I didn't know Oscar could cook until Ike told him that he wanted to eat some of his food. And how Shinon did something that was SOOOOOO out of character....

No one beats Erk or Pent. Not even Soren can stand up to the Sages of FE7, but his character is more complex than Erk's or Pent's. He's a main character in FE9, whereas Pent (and surely Erk) are side characters. Pent plays a role, but ain't a main character. =/

The way I pronounce "Haar" is almost impossible to explain. It'd be something along the way of "why" but without the "y" sound on the back. =/ Don't know how to explain it otherswise.

And as a sidenote, my next theme wil not be Fire Emblem, but SaiunkokuMonogatari. I just finished the series, and it's awesome. <3

The Magic you get in shadow dragon sucks...Merric is awful compared to past mages/sages.

And the Bishops are only good for healing and dealing a bi t of damge to protect themselves...Only one archer is good...Jeorge...OTherwise they all suck..Seriously Shadow Dragon is a big Close combat game.

Truth is I'm a veteran tactician(heh!) so I accept both ranged and melee combateers. (BUWAHAHAH! Splitting my bet! ;)) I like aerial units more so than others though... hence the fact that I use all air units in my games hehehe... Sometimes melee doesn't develop as well as ranged units and vise versa. It's all a matter of LUCK! stupid % multiplier....

Archers don't do well in close combat. But mages can become tanks in attack and avoidance if you're lucky. Like Erk in my FE7 games. x) I put him in the frontline instead of in the back, like Soren suggests in FE9. XD

Hahahaha... Well... If you can ever get to the point where you can use him... you'd find that he is AWESOME! Possibly another great Lord class (with a base lance!) but I think he's awesome with his lance.
