Bagon, and shelgon are dragon types, and salamence is a dragon/flying, so they learn dragon and fire moves but not water. If you breed a bagon/shelgon/salamence with a L50 gyrados who knows Hydro Pump, the baby will know hydro pump. Its impossible for them to learn any other water moves.
Here's some good pokemon couples to get good babies:
female Jigglypuff + male shroomish = Igglybuff
f Mudkip/Marshtomp/Swampert + m Whiscash (L40) = Mudkip with Eartquake
f Blaziken + m Absol = Torchic
f Sceptile + m Whismur = Treecko
Marill + Marill (one holding Sea Incense) = Azurill
Wobuffet + Wobuffet (one holding Lax Incense) = Wynaut
Note: If you give the incense to the male parent, all babies will be female and vice versa.
Post all your breeding know-how here!
PM me for more breeding tips!

All very useful information, thanks for offering it.
The egg moves guide will get around to adding the Bagon family egg moves, so don't worry about that.
Babies and parents are covered in the Egg Groups section.
And the Wynaut and Azurill are already mentioned in the FAQs section.
All in all, this post is useful, but all the info has been covered already.
And any breeding tips should be posted here, cos this is what this section is for (not your PM box).

The gyarados doesn't have to be level 50, It learns Hyrdo Pump at 40, so any level after that will work.
But thanks for the info, I'll definately do that.

A legion of Shiney Pokemon of different types can be created without having to go everywhere looking for them! Once you find a Shiney Evee, or it's evolutions, breed it with another many times over so you have six Shiney Evees, then you give 3 of them Thunder, Ice, and Fire stones, and train 2 of them Day and Night. Now you can have a well-rounded team of 6 shiney pokemon of 6 different types! Fire, Lightning, Water, Dark, Steel, and Normal! All thanks to the Wonders of Breeding!

If only it were that simple. Unfortunately, even breeding with two shinies doesn't increase the odds of getting a shiny Pokemon.

I think it used to be a higher chance (1/16 i think) in GSC. But in RS they took it out.

yes the chances were increased in GSC and the odds were nerf'd severely in RuSa. Meaning that as Toothache said, EXTREMELY good luck because to my knowledge, shinys from breeding is practically unheard of. Also, in F/R L/G the odds are changed yet again. Attaching the code to binary statistics within the in-game coding. Now your chances of meeting up with a shiny are approximately 1 in 8172. There are more various sites floating around that explain more on the shiny topics but i figured i'd throw that out there for any who may need it.

Is there a chance that two normals can produce a shiny?

Yes, the odds are the same as finding a wild shiny.

i'm just wondering if it is possible for your starter pokemon to be shiney. also, i just caught a gold magikarp, will it evolve into red gyarados?

No, it'll evolve into gold gyrados, as far as I know.

Actually, it will be red, because the shiny colour changes with evolution (it's basically a palette swap of two different colours). But overall, any shiny which evolves will stay shiny (but not necessarily the same colour as it's pre-evolution)
