View Full Version : Do you feel like the main person in the world?

December 5th, 2008, 4:58 PM
This is a question I have always wanted to know. I mean I feel that way and everyone else are just robots that do stuff to entertain me and stuff but I want to know how you "robots" feel. lol

Haha, I'm sure this is a feeling is common amongst everyone else in the world. Needless to say, when you're confined in your own world of thoughts and emotions, and are experiencing life through your own persona, it would be quite hard to see everybody else as anything but additional features or "robots" as you like to put it. I admit, I used to feel a lot like that when I was slightly younger and more unaware of people around me. It...isn't the best feeling in the world, it can make you feel alone and isolated at times, as if nobody else could comprehend the kind of emotion you're feeling like you do, and it can also make you yearn for security and identity; it's quite a lonely feeling.

I've pretty much changed a lot from the way I used to be since I've gotten to know people and learned more about their life and obstacles. When you learn more about others, you start feeling as though you're a part of them; and there's no greater feeling than knowing you can actually belong. So I don't really feel that way as much anymore. From my experience, feeling as though you're the centre of the universe is like not being able to understand other people, therefore you're more confined to yourself. I could be wrong in some aspects, but it's generally the way I see it.

the bitter end.

I used to feel like this, till I saw a thread similar to this on another forum. If other "robots" have this feeling perhaps they are people?

Not mush help, I'm sure, but...

That's exactly how I feel everyday. I sometimes believe is is just some kind of test. This topic sort of goes into the debate of whether a soul is real or not.

I feel that too. But in other way, I feel like everyone is spying on me. o.o

I can often feel like I'm the only sane person in the world. ._.;

I mean, I dont feel lonely. I mean I get so much attention and special treatment its like other people recognize who I am or something. I dunno, Im not trying to say that anyone else is less important than I am, its just a feeling. Also I feel like I know everything I need to know and I only know everything happening in the world ya know?

I'm convinced that I actually live in a sci-fi future-world and I've been wiped of my memories and sent into a parallel existence via a thought-process experiment gone awry. Furthermore, none of you actually exist, but I'm dreaming you.

I don't exactly thing everybody else around me are robots are anything but sometimes I catch myself thinking: 'It sort of feels like stuff just revolves around me.' But that's just a self centered way of thinking.

I've heard it said "everyone is the hero of their own story," and it makes sense in some ways. Signomi summed it up really well. Everyone filters life their own way. But I don't really feel everything pertains to me very often -- almost never. It's hard to when I know about so many people who have done and are doing so much more, and just how much there is in the world. I might sometimes feel separated from the world sometimes and but when I'm like that, I don't feel like the main person in the world; rather, I just feel lonesome and left out of the world. =(

I have my hopes and dreams, but I don't think I'd ever be, like, the most important person in the world. I think it would be nice just to be an important person in a few people's worlds. <3

O.O..Wow, ok yeah i do sometimes I feel like i'm the main character in a sitcom/manga and stuff keeps ironcally and randomly happening to me..wierd enough my life feels like a book too...and who ever is reading this book better write a better sequel..i mean most of the bad funny stuff happen to me and all the good moments happen too..but seriously its like a win/lose situation to me being main character

Of course everyone is thier own main character.

Everyone questions it.
but it always comes out false.

Well I used to feel like I'm the only one not knowing that this is all an act. I still even think about it sometimes, though I always get slapped by reality.

Reality sucks!

I try to live by the philosophy of "there's someone out there that's better than me", so I try to be modest and try to think that I'm not the center of the world... but sometimes I kinda get overboard.

December 7th, 2008, 5:12 AM
Nope. I acknowledge others who are both lesser and superior to me. Not doing so otherwise would be stupid.

December 11th, 2008, 3:52 PM
No, actually, sometimes I feel like the opposite - like a robot-gone-wrong who can actually think, instead of being a robot for whoever the dude in charge is.

I've thought about that a couple times. It's a little weird to think that everyone is like me in some shape or form. They feel what I feel, do what I do, and are what I am. I certainly feel like I'm a "main character" at times, as it's a stretch to apply your being to six billion others. Sometimes, I don't even believe I really exist, like something is just going through my mind and just my soul is created. Like, well, almost a kind of mind game that a higher being is playing with me. I don't know, though. It's weird.

So to answer your question using all tenses, yes I have. Present tense? No.

December 11th, 2008, 5:20 PM
Sometimes I get the feeling it's all about me (which is quite selfish, but we all are at one stage, right?) and no one else. Usually I try to remain aware about the other people around me and that I should take their thoughts and opinions into matter. Sometimes when I think about all the people in the world like me, looking through different eyes, having a different shaped body, different hair, different personality and different everything it feels weird.

So, yes. I have got the feeling before, now? No.

Lol fabulous question,

Yes sometimes I feel like world revolves around me.

I feel exactly like this

Hi, I'm Angela. You know, a lot of people died in the tsunami, but don't worry, I didn't. And I'll be here to entertain you and love my life for many, many years to come. Me! ME! MEEEEEEE!

But doesn't everybody feel like that ones in a while:D,

Tho most people feel like that rather often then less.

No why did this happen to me!!! Because you did not put money in the meter
What did I do to deserve all this, first foxy runs away, then this ticket, dam you god!!! dam you to
Gasp!!! A naughty word

"Wroooom" *A bus hits him*

December 12th, 2008, 10:25 AM
Well duh, this is my world, your my toys, once I'm done, you go in the toy chest.
The world revolves around me, when I'm not somewhere, nobody else is either, because everyone is where I am to make my story.

December 12th, 2008, 12:56 PM
I actually think like that all the time.
Other varients of my strange thoughts include:

.If I'm not there, is it really happening?
. As I'm typing this, will you read it as something else? Is this a completely different thread, and this reply changes to fit the topic?
. Lots of others that would take too much explaining.

And when I was a kid, I used to treat my life as a TV show. Weird, I know. I thought there was hidden cameras following me, lol.
