Pokemon Crystal Redesign and World

These are hacks which changes looks of all areas and trainers are edited and these hacks are much harder than normal pokemon crystal. Text and scripts aren't edited. Redesign story line:
You begin your journey in New Bark Town in Johto to become the best pokemon trainer. You travel in Johto to get 8 badges and then you can travel to Indigo Plateau in Kanto. After you manage to beat Elite Four you're able to go through S.S Anne to Vermilion City in Kanto. There you can beat all 8 gym leaders which you haven't beaten yet and if you can do that you might be able to access the sacred Mt.Silver.

For Crystal World story will be quite different:
It goes just as in redesign until you get your 8th badge. After that you try to enter pokeleague but what will you see !
There is a man blocking the entrance to pokeleague and he won't move if you can't prove yourself worthy to gain all 8 badges from Kanto region as well.
You continue gymbadge hunt to become the pokemon master and may find some epic pokemon in the way towards your destiny: To become the pokemon master.

I hope you like to play my hacks. Crystal World is better than Redesign hack because it looks just much better. See download link in attached files and download also Hints.txt file. It tells which pokemon you should choose at the beginning (Hints is for redesign only !) and also other good things to know. Also notice that there is a BUG in this game. When you change an item to other item that pokemon is carrying the game crashes. To switch items you need to remove the item that pokemon is carrying first and then give it a new one. Now enjoy playing my hacks:)


Crystal World hack:
There is a place called glitch world in crystal world hack and don't save when you go there. YOU CAN'T RETURN FROM THERE!!!!

Bugs in both games:
You sometimes need to have HM's teached to your pokemon when entering places like Whirl Islands (the cave where you can find Lugia). So see that your pokemon know strenght, waterfall and surf always so you won't get stuck.

So about Redesign, anything else new apart from the new layout and harder trainers? New wild pokemon locations maybe? I notice a high-leveled Jigglypuff in that youtube video.

EDIT: Yep there are new wild pokemon, I seen Bulbasaur and Butterfree in the first 2 routes O_O. Plus Hoothoot in the day. I wonder if all the starters and their evos are in the wild now. Be fun fighting wild Charmeleons :D.

You can catch all pokemon in redesign and also in my 2nd hack when it comes. But in Crystal World you need to trade to get bulbasaur, charmander, squirtle and some more legendary ones :D

I perhaps said it in pretty weird way. There are 7 people in the game which you can trade pokemon with and in Violet, Goldenrod and Olivine City you can pokemon red/blue starters.

Man Crystal just got much harder, even though you level up very quickly. I only just got to Violet city.

Is it possible if someone could make a wild pokemon locations list? I seen too many pokemon on one route sometimes.

Great hack though, something different compared to those HOTM (hack of the month) ones.

On the first route I found Bulbasaur, Rattata, Hoot Hoot, Natu, and Yanma during the day =p

Second - Beedrill, Butterfree, Spearow, Pineco, probably something else I missed

I think it's the third next, it had Weedle, Metapod, Skiploom, Bellsprout, and probably something else

Sprout Tower I just noticed a Rattata, didn't get around to battling there.

In Dark Cave I found a level 42 Geodude, and decided that now is not the best time to explore it =p

It's just a gym which has 3 floors (two upper entrances should be verandas). And to get to Elm's lab your Rival is always kicking you there in the game :D

Hey I'd like to tell one thing which is important when catching pokemon:
Usually (not always) you can find 6 pokemon in every route. And in morning, daytime and at night you see probably same pokemon or even nearly same.

The greatball appears always - that's a bug which can be seen with different items on some places.
Also which house were you talking about (sorry I called it a gym because I posted my redesign one month ago in Zophar's Domain and there I had a picture of Olivine Gym). When you get there you can compare.
You must be good to win Falkner :D. And to get to Union Cave I just recommend searching for "secret entrance" to top of the mountain in the bottom of the route. That really can be difficult to find if you play with strong turbo mode and I can tell that secret entrance doesn't look perfectly like normal mountain's edge.

Oh I just checked my pokedex in redesign and saw that you have already gotten past first Sneasel location :O.
It's still rare because you can get it only in Sprout Tower or in Ice Cave.
I just don't recommend searching it in Sprout Tower because there are different pokemon in each floor.
To get Houndour just go to Dark Cave and search for it ;)
And there is also a big puzzle in Azalea Town to get to Kurt so you need to solve it also :)

Also I love how the Pokedex changed with the new Pokemon locations since it uses the Johto map, maybe Kanto too.

And finally where Charmander :)?

Houndour is also lv40+. And you can get charmander bulbasaur and squirtle in Johto map by entering a right room in one cave. I won't say where they are but those are only pokemon in that room so when you get there you'll find them for sure. But you can't get them yet. It takes still time to get there.

:O. You sure played fast. You can get to sabrina in saffron gym by going through the right warp. The entrance is inside gym but in a place where you couldn't even imagine it to be (you still can see the entrance to that warp). Hey you should go and find mew and mewtwo to get a bit better party.

I found Bulbasaur on route 29 and 32, and I do notice a lot of Pokemon coming from the Burned tower (or somewhere near Ecruteak) when I checked the pokedex. I'm guessing they are there.

Crystal World contains 3 elements that aren't in Redesign hack:
1. New starters
2. New trading pokemon with people
3. Pokemon type changes (does major changes to some pokemon's stats for example Kingler is Steel/Water type)

So yeah, I'm really enjoying it so far. What convinced you to make these two hack?

I have edited pokemon crystal also before but then I only made hard hacks from it (that's why these are maybe hard too). I've a crystal map editor in my computer and one day I just opened it and opened first route at left from New Bark Town. I just began doing something (changing tiles to each other) and after 15minutes I realized that's this is damn fun to see true new routes.
Then I just started editing routes and I finally got a true hack for crystal.
Making cities wasn't that fun because they took much more time to make (editing warps and signs and so on..). After a week when I had finished my Redesign hack I had nothing to do on my computer. Just speaking with Windows live messenger and that's it. Then I just began to make another hack :D:D:D
Also I have a friend in youtube which wanted to get my crystal editors so he could also make a hack for it. If it turns out like these probably it may come here too if you like :)


I uploaded my Crystal world beta here now. Play this first through and download it then.
It will take probably over a month before final version comes.

Man I'm struggling too much, Lvl50 pokemon in Ecruteak and I only got 3 under-lvl40 pokemon (Typhosion, Nidorina and Pigeotto). Route 42 is cut off completely by water so I can't get to the Lake of Rage early like in GSC, and Route 38 has a trainer with a tough Slowbro. And the wild pokemon don't help me level up quickly.

I may have to use the lvl100 cheat just to check out the rest of the game :S. Hope that's ok.

And yes great hack, just a teeny bit too hard.

I really can't edit myself. I suck at romhacking.
But I joined here about a month ago and in toolbox I found some interesting utilities to make even better hack than redesign.
I use CrystalMap editor to edit maps and wild pokemon (compare GoldMap).
Trainer editor to edit trainers and here I found pokemon type editor and starter+trade editor.

Also I'm nearly same as you. I don't like much to play newer hacks (I've never played DS pokemon games for example). I also like RBY and GSC games (that's why I watched pokemon in TV when those were on..probably).

This hack took me 1,5 months to make but it took a week before I started making World hack. Crystal World will take probably 2-2.5 months (paths and cities are made looking better).

my lv100 mewtwo could hold against him one attack - I teached mewtwo Zap Cannon and then tyranitar came with earthquake. Also my mew knew earthquake technic.

Yeah a easy version would be good, maybe make the trainers pokemon 10 levels lower, but keep the wild pokemon levels the same please.

And maybe add a few more wild pokemon locations, like example the starter's evolutions (like i said: I would love to fight a wild Charmeleon) and maybe Charmander and Squirtle in 2 more areas since Bulbasaur appears on the 2 routes I mentioned earlier.

You sure find most just going through paths. No need to search for them.

umbreon lvl 180 : night shade swift mud slap and something else
charizard lvl 190 : flamethrower fly and 2 other moves
raichu lvl 210 : t-bolt surf jump kick and another move
blissey lvl 200 : earthquake fire blast t-punch and solarbeam
squirtle lvl 250 : body slam rock slide surf and blizzard

for bulbasaur i used zapdos with fly
for blissey i kept stalling with zapdos and when he solarbeams i attack
for charizard i used suicune when hes gonna hit you with fly use surf
for umbreon i stalled him with mewtwo recover
for squirtle i kept stalling him with mewtwo and forretress (you need lots of revives)

he has :
bulbasaur lvl 250 : solarbeam dig and 2 other moves
umbreon lvl 180 : night shade swift mud slap and something else
charizard lvl 190 : flamethrower fly and 2 other moves
raichu lvl 210 : t-bolt surf jump kick and another move
blissey lvl 200 : earthquake fire blast t-punch and solarbeam
squirtle lvl 250 : body slam rock slide surf and blizzard

for bulbasaur i used zapdos with fly
for blissey i kept stalling with zapdos and when he solarbeams i attack

No, pokecenters don't have any computers :D
Hey that was also a good question since I noticed a terrible bug with it:
If you have 6 pokemon and none of them can learn cut then you'll be stuck in Azalea Town.
I added a computer in Azalea Town in Charcoal's house so you can't get stuck that way.
Also there was another bug in Tohjo Falls just in front of pokeleague so I fixed it also.
(0.61 is available)

Anyway you won't believe what I'm saying now. This hack has about 1000-2000 players now and yesterday I got a message in youtube from somebody that I'm loving your hack and I just started playing and making a video walkthrough of your hack and beginning of that walkthrough can already be found in youtube :D

You can always beat mahogany town leader first and then return to olivine if you like. I really made it to be like that.

There are computers in some houses and also in final version I must add that second floor available in PC:s where are computers also.

Also Crystal World 0.65 is finished now (I won't release it though :P). I added 2 very fun things to the Indigo Plateau and in KANTO map.
When I release final version I suggest you start game from beginning because you shouldn't have won Pokeleague in final version when you've beaten JOHTO map.

You can't beat the whole game now even now but you can already access Lavender Town in Kanto. I wonder how you will get there without S.S Aqua being available ;)

The reason why I uploaded this is that I don't want that people go to Indigo Plateau anymore because that isn't accessable in final version. See more information about this release in 1st page. Hope you enjoy and just one more thing:
PLEASE DON'T TELL PEOPLE ABOUT THAT SECRET POKEMON YOU CAN GET IN KANTO !

And changes to version 0.80 is that I found 2 bugs in the game which I fixed later.
-There was a leveling up bug in Mew so you probably want to change that (works only if you don't have Mew)

I think I didn't mess up. Advisor should look red and bugsy green and they're copies of each other and advisor is just bugsy that way :)

EDIT: By the way crystal world is going to have a new look. Now I'm modifying tilesets and that will really be the final version which comes.
I'll say now that I won't edit scripts and text so tilesets changes more and that's it then.
Also redesign is going to change but after I finish crystal world hack.

You can follow pages 1-2 to find pokemons before union cave but there isn't any guide. You can find them all pretty easy (or even over 200 if you want).
(if you meant redesign hack)
It may turn out really hard also if your computer doesn't run fast so download easier version then (+1000%).
I usually battle only with 1200% speed.

Well not much have been changed so flash hm is in the top of sprout tower like usually and fly is still in Cianwood City...but getting Fly isn't that easy really :P
And if you want to try to get out without dieing follow the path to left-below corner and you may be able to find the exit.
There is an edge where you jump to left in front of the exit (you'll jump to exit from it).

EDIT (A minor bug in Crystal World):
I found out that there was a bug that you couldn't use PC's which were put inside houses and I fixed it now.
Nothing else done.

Well it is hard to get fly if you don't know that you can get it in cianwood (I thought that people knew that so I didn't think it was too hard).

okay sure ^^ i'll try to be quick, but i'm hella slow, because i'm not playing on an emu, but on my r4 with max speed x4 or something. When testing hacks, I usually play on an emu, but it's more fun to actually play them on a flashcard without speed x1000. Don't worry tough, it won't take THAT long. I play hours and hours a day, I'm extremely addicted :P If things start to take too long, i'll transfer my sav to my emu so I can finish it quickly, but for now i'll keep playing 4x speed.

And no I didn't know where da heck to get fly :P Everything is very different from crystal in your hacks, so I assumed when there was no npc giving it to me in sight, it must've been somewhere else. Guess I was wrong :P

Anyway, I'm at GMT+1, so I've got to go to bed soon. I'll see if I can get my crappy team good enough to beat that rocket with a 75 machamp, a 78 tiraniator and four other impossible to beat pokemon with a 68 moltres 46 sciter 58 vileplume 53 polywhirl 52 rhydon and a 67 Crolbat... Oh man... this is going to be a long night :P

Crystal is really underdone, so brownie points to that, and good on you for doing so much; but Rome wasn't made in a day. Work a little harder and these could be excellent.

Some major flaws I found were:
The tiles (the plain grass/road) are really bad. Like, eye-bleeding bad.
The map designs are really irritating.
Glitches galore, mainly concerning flight points and unedited scripts. People like the Cherrygrove man and your rival spring to mind.
Legendaries as starters is bad. Especially the birds.
The game itself is way too hard. Not so much of a problem, but it's there.

I don't mean to be harsh, but honestly, it seems like you're being babied far too much. My intentions aren't to scare you off, or be mean, but to give some constructive criticism. Please take it as such.

This game is hard but you don't really need to even train your pokemon between gyms.
I'm making a walkthrough of world hack and I have about lv60 pokemon and have beaten 8 gyms and I'm just in Viridian City now.
You'll just need to struggle to beat trainers.

Also I didn't know about playing my hacks any other way than with VBA in computer so I made it like that it's hard even if you play with 1000% speed.
Pikachu Edition won't be too hard though.

Also I would have made these hacks look better but I don't know how to script so only maps and trainers are changed and poketext doesn't work with crystal so I couldn't even edit any text. That's why hacks look too much like normal crystal.

Oh and I found Blazichu's scripting tutorial somewhere and I tried to give new script to one person...only thing I managed to do was to remove him from the area he was.
I think I managed to make a new script to the game (I filled new script to 00 00 00 00...00 area) but I sucked something when I tried to make that person use that script.

The sprout tower is glitchy by a reason that I wanted to make it look like that. Also Violet Gym is there...you have to go through Ruins of Alph to get there.

I put it in Lake of Rage...there is a man blocking the entrance to it but you can get in when you've beaten rockets in mahogany hideout.

It didn't happen when I tryed to rebuild the exact same situation with another save tough. The pokemon in battle are still in colour. Since it didn't happen to any other save I use even when trying to get the exact same situation and doing this a hundred times in a row, I guess it's such a small bug you shouldn't bother trying to find the weird bit in the coding since it would take ages.

Yeah that would really take ages to repair since I don't even know how to do it. Weird bug :S
Also the first thing you said really isn't any bug but the stupid thing about it is that you can walk to the door and you won't warp anywhere.

SS Aqua doesn't exist and you can't fly anywhere in kanto since you haven't visited indigo plateau yet --> The game thinks that you haven't been in kanto yet.
If you try you can glitch the map in kanto (before going to indigo plateau) by opening worldmap and tapping the key which makes you move left/right.

It was over pretty swiftly!

If you're talking about crystal world I've mentioned the bug when you head left from ecruteak and I left that "glitch world" in the game since I think it's fun. About the elevator, I haven't even noticed it.

Sorry I think I'm not going to fix these glitches because these aren't so advanced hacks so I don't want to make them perfect (takes a lot of time and overall it's a bit waste of time).

AND about pikachu edition I'm going to move the thread in hacks showcase in no time and patch file will be removed as well since final version is up soon ;)

So what is the difference between the three games? I see Crystal Redesign, Redesign (easy), and Crystal World.
I assume they are all the same game but Redesign (easy) is easier than the original. Normal Redesign is about the same difficulty, and Crystal World is the "you need to level up to 100 to beat Red" game.

I assume they are all the same game but Redesign (easy) is easier than the original. Normal Redesign is about the same difficulty, and Crystal World is the "you need to level up to 100 to beat Red" game.

They're all just mapping hacks, 2 redesigns are the same but the another one is a lot easier. Crystal world is a different mapped game

I actually suggest that you play Pokemon Pikachu Edition instead because it's my best hack and I just finished it. It's here in hacks showcase as well.

EbaFanReborn made a document which contains types for all of the pokemon in crystal world and many of them all totally random and they surprised me too.

and by the way, can you obtain all the pokemon in redesign? are gengar evolved through level?
do they evolve in higher levels like pikachu edition?? and is the accuracy normal??
