I think, pokemon in R/S don`t look good. Golbat, Mewtwo etc. I preffer Yellow much more, because in Yellow all pokemon look like from anime.

^Is so true.
Anyways., one thing i don't like is how you have to train your pokemon a lot for each gym. And the gym leaders are too high leveled.
Kairi

I miss that in RBY.
The gym leaders these days are too easy, and far too low level. GSC's were a joke. The worst thing of RBY?

I didn't like the beginning of Yellow. You -have- to start out with Pikachu, and almost all the pokémon you're able to capture at the beginning are weak against Brock's rock pokémon. So you have to train super-super-high to beat him. Then Misty comes along with her level 20's. xx;

Well I hate Brock and Misty... They killed my Charmadner so i Use Butterfree instead fior those two gits.

Nah.. The worst thing is the whole game. No Eggs, No Genders, No Time, Can't battle people again, No Hold Items, etc.

Even though R/B/Y has bad graphics and stuff, its still the best of the GB games, just look at G/S/C and R/S, their all just a repeat of the original game, with new pokemon, new gym leaders, and a new places, just with new added stuff, whats so good about that?
Its only really the graphics thats good in the newer games.

RBY was made and balanced by people who didn't know how to make the metagame. GSC and RS are vast improvements in that department, competitive play on RBY was limited to about thirty-two Pokémon, had a broken type, and countless flaws such as Ghost not being the anti-psychic as it was intended.
The change in the balance of competitive play is where the real heart of the game is, not the graphics or features.

I am with Kairi on this one. RBY was good and lacks those other good features and stuff but just think, you cant get those SUPER cool Pokemons on RS and GSC. You cant get Charizard, Blastoise, Venusaur, Mew, Mewtwo, etc. And the fun part is are the glitches which the others lack! Those glitches are cool. Most ppl hate Yellow cause of Pikachu (dont blame em') but after awhile you can do neat things and stuff. ANd what I hate about RS is that it is on GBA!! Why cant it be on GB still. People got to but GBAs and stuff.

True, but i dont really like to keep playing the same type of "Get all Pokemon, become a pokemon master, beat all gym leaders, and beat the league"
although it is rather fun sometimes with competitive and new stuff but still, if it keeps going this way, who knows, we might just have 5 new pokemon games, all looking the same.
And i do agree about the part with all the flaws, i found alot in R/B/Y but, that was just some more time you could waste on them, trying to find new :)

The whole point of the game though doesn't lie in the cart. the adventure to capture or raise the Pokémon, it's in the potential that's found in the online metagame using the engine. The battle engine and its applications are where GSC and RS make bounds over the others. Everything else ~ The graphics, the Gym Leaders, the adventure are all just pretty wrapping over it.

The worst part of R/B is that you cannot battle people again. To train the pokemon to get all 150, I have to battle wimps or the Elite Four. G/S was just as bad.

Am I crazy? Nooo...I think old one is original and fun all time...(no migraine when you find a gender that you want or found a shiny one...)

unless they introduce new TMs that RS do not have, i see this remake thing as near pointless... all you get to do is check on how the gym leaders are doing (and if it's a remake with exact plot and everything then it would be... boring...)
new TMs will be the "new" feature i'm looking towards the most. It may introduce new archetypes and etc... more movepool for every pokemon = better to some extent

The graphics for R/B/Y were pretty bad. However I liked that you had to train hard to beat the Gym Leaders. It was more of a challenge. Comparison (Red to Silver) Brock has a Geodude and Onix. Darn, I forgot the levels. Oh, I think Level 14 for each and in Silver, Falkner has Pidgey Level 7 and Pidgeotto Level 9. I like R/B/Y but don't like the graphics, pokémon, the places, the color (no color practically) and the things you can do. (Lots more in Ruby and Sapphire)

I disliked the bag system... well, lack of. Only hold 20 items, I always ran out. And you had to manually pull out a TM to find out what it was. My least favorite part about RBY was the extreme favoritism to psychic.... that whole Saffron scenario and the two rarest, the mew's, were both pure psychic. I am happy GSC introduced special defense.
The only good things about RBY was rock slide as a tm, razor leaf's power, and the missingno glitch (so you could clone items).

There's a lot of bad things in R/B/Y... Such as bad music, bad graphics, lack of good tm's, to easy to beat, too many glitches, no color, surf is too slow, hold's only 20 items....
I could list so many bad about R/B/Y.
But then again, newer games are usually better.

a thing i hate about allll poké games are that after you beat the elite four and want another shot at them , they say excactly the same thing as before. they should say different things, like "back for another go? you won't beat me this time!" or something.

There's some horrible flaws in the game. Ghost attacks are ineffective against Psychics, despite being advertised as Psy-beaters (well, the only Ghost attack was Lick anyway). Damage against dual-type monsters also isn't calculated correctly. Thunder is not very effective against Dragonite, despite his Flying dual type. Gyarados is weak against Ice, regardless of the fact he's part Water. Ground isn't very effective against Venusaur, even when you take his Poison type into account. The list goes on.
One of the worst things about Red and Blue though, were the in-game trade only Pokemon like Mr Mime, Jynx, Lickitung, Farfetch'd and Tangella. They all had nicknames that you couldn't alter, which I expect put most people off raising them. Luckily, Pokemon Yellow made all of these monsters become available in the wild.
Like I always say, R/B/Y will always be the 'respected' original titles. But for me, G/S/C took everything that made them great and multiplied it by ten. R/S have nice updates in the visual department, with some decent new Pokemon and moves, but they're not a patch on Gold and Silver in terms of fun.

I liked Red and Blue more than Yellow because of a couple of things:
Pikachu!!!
Why another version? Wasn't just R/B enough??!!
No cheats.. You have 2 train!

Less Glitches!

lol, both a blessing and a curse, the RareCandyCode! missingno himself. It's cool, and helpful, but many a trainer hath over used it. I know i did several a time.
Then there's the images, the pokemon just look funny! LOL, especailly when the game became popular after the show, you'd think they'd look more alike? (Tangela looks like a huge cube...Chansey is just sad...)
But a few look good. I always liked bulbasaurs intresting pose.

Yellow lacked Jynx, period. A bit upsetting being a Jynx fan who hated "Lola". And Mr. Mime was still trade only. But Farfetch'd is wild-found, not sure of the others.

I hate the fact that the pokemon from your side looked so awful...... I can still recognize my charmander and bulbasaur and squirtle...even if they look so ugly... but once they evolve, they look ok from the front but doesnt look like anything from the back! Like charmeleon, when i look from the back, he sortta looks like a hanging light bulb to me...

The worst thing from Red/Blue was you have to keep on opening the menu bar and go to your pokemon to cut trees, :tired: headbutt, surf, etc. This especially annoyed me a lot in a dungeon where you have to keep on using strength and rock smash. :D
Another thing is that the game was too easy for me *cheeky* :cheeky: , nah......
I am also disappointed by the lack of storyline compared to GOLD SILVER CRYSAL FIRERED LEAFGREEN................ :bandit: :bandit: :P :D
The graphics were awful, the pokemon sound was squeeky :D and the battle effects are really poor. :tired:
Even so, I still love it bcause it one of the first pokemon game that came out and one of the first game that I played... :knockedou :knockedou *proud of the constructive comment*
Any irrelevancies above are not the responsibility of Raveberuk a.k.a. Dodomaster. Terms and Condition Applies.

(I've already commented) but I like the newer comments. I don't like in yellow, Bulbasaur! I *LOVE* bulbasaur, (if ya didn't already know that, lol) and out of like, 9 tries, I've only gotten it twice! Over the past 4+ years! Bulbasaur bud, you rock, but yer to hard to get in Yellow.
And when you get squirtle, his levels to low to be to much help. So ya either have to train him, or poof, he goes into the box never to be seen again. (Most people I know train him to bLastoise, then box'm)
And there's the things already mentioned again n.n
But, for the first game, I think they did pretty good. Of coarse the advances are gonna have more, cooler, options then the first, but that's what makes it cool right!
and...
Go to an image place, and put your image on there (if your not already doing this) like, Photobucket. Then copy the [IMG] One on there. It might be to big, and to much info also.
Words may contain bad language, or are not being coded right. But it's probably the above mentioned problem. Go to Photobucket (search for it if ya have to), sign up, load up the pic you want, and paste the img thingie on the Signiture thing in use prefs. This doesn't belong here i might add, put it in questions or something.

This is another thing that bugged me about red/blue/yellow. Anyone notice that the moves were a lot less accurate? I've had rock slide miss 3 times in a row, and Tackle seems to miss every 5 turns (both have 90 accuracy I think, give or take). Even moves with 100 accuracy like Psychic would miss once in awhile. And for some reason, Brock's Onix is immune to Poison Sting, but that move should actually do minimal damage, not zero. In GSC and beyond, I've never had a 100 accuracy move miss unless the enemy was evasive of course.
Oh yeah, and a lot of dual types had messed up weaknesses. Fighting was strong to Jynx but weak to normal/flying types, but Fighting should do normal damage to both. Dragonite was strong to Electric, Bulbasaur was strong against Poison but weak against Ground, all of those should take normal damage from the respective moves. Also Gyarados was weak to Ice but resistant to Grass (I think Aerodactl was grass-resistant too), and Nidoking and Tentacruel were also resistant to Grass, once again, all should take normal damage.
