Pretty nifty title, eh? XD; Anyway, I was wondering, if I traded a Pokemon from RBY and tried to breed it with one of it's type ( Field type, right now, I'm breeding a Pikachu -traded- with a Raticate witn no luck) a Pokemon from GSC, would it produce an egg? o.O; I just keep getting "PIKACHU is being friendly with Raticate". So urm ...
HELP!!

Yes, it will still breed if you trade from RBY. The message about the two being friendly is a good sign, it means the egg will appear faster (if they don't like each other, it would take longer)

In the hopes of getting a baby with Thief, I bred my male Ludicolo and female Shiftry. But the baby only had bind and growth. Is that normal?

Yes, it is normal, because Thief is not an egg move or TM move for Seedot (the lowest form).

Oh, right. Cool. What can learn Thief from Ludicolo then?

about the theif thing

I thought to pass on the move it didn't matter if the lowest evolutions didn't
get the move so long as one of the higher ones did

Unfortunately, that's not the case. If the lowest form cannot learn a move, then it cannot have the move breeded onto it. If a Pokemon learns a move at all evolutions, then it can gain the move.

EDIT: And there is a large list of Pokemon who can learn Thief from Ludicolo, I will get around to making a list of the TM breeding chains.
