Group discussion post too long? o_o

That's what it says and I did post along post but it's because its for this group called ASD, by a new friend of mine. I was just wondering if there was a way of making this longer maybe? I mean could it be a glitch maybe? D:

I can't understand it having to say that before and I thought that the character limit would be just like the posts you make in threads on the forum, but it's the opposite.

Can this be fixed or is it permanent? D:

This is what says:

"The text that you have entered is too long (1747 characters). Please shorten it to 1000 characters long."

Such limits are made by the database, as certain field types can only store a maximum amount of bytes.
Posts can't be longer than the field limit either.

I...don't understand what you are trying to say. o_o I always thought that it would have the same character limit as when you post in a thread. It would make things so much easier because people are obviously going to post long walls of text. D:
