It's that time of the month again!♥ You have 20 more days, until the first of March, to vote for your Hack of the Month. The winner hack's thread will be stickied for a month, until the next month's winner is announced. The winner hack will also be added to PokéCommunity's official ROM Hacking Hall of Fame (http://www.pokecommunity.com/showthread.php?t=56279). Oh well... I'll vote for... POKéMON... er... Black n' White 'cause it shows great scripting and the storyline's really nice, plus the updates are outstanding, making us impatient to play it. ^^
edit: I forgot the most obvious reason... I like it because of the amazing tiles as well... :P

I really couldn't decide but finally I voted for Never B&W. Why? Both TE and B&W have incredible scripts, battle BGs and tiles. After a close thinkabout I voted for B&W because the maps are better this time.

I'm voting for Black & White, since I consider it as the "most balanced of the three", solid scripting which creates a mysterious storyline, awesome graphics which make it stand out a bit from the rest, and a few ideas for puzzles and that kind of stuff that are unique.

I'll be voting for Pokémon Never Black & White because of its quite superb and well thought out scripts, as well as the very dark, philosophical (in some ways) and fantastic storyline which make the game more of a mystery to play, and the beautiful, solid graphics that make the game a more interesting experience.

I would definitely pay good money for it to play on any system, and I'll wait eagerly for its next release. ҳ̸ҲRichie, or SkOria (on WAH) is a very respectable ROM hacker, and I slightly regret not being able to translate the first beta on time, and leaving him to translate it wholely after I failed. I hope he wins the Hack of the Month. ^^

I must say, this month's choice was very difficult. In the end, I knew I had made the right decision but I had to do some research to justify my choice. Last month's choices weren't balanced, as in the best hack was obvious. This time, however, I really had to take the time to consider each hack. It's a shame that White hasn't received many votes though, which I think is, unfortunately, due to the fact that it isn't very well known compared to Never Black & White and Thunder Emblem. I'm afraid this is going to turn into a popularity contest :\

Because it has the best scripts out of the three hacks, it's very well planned out, has nice tiles + palettes and it had a great release.

To those of you who voted for Thunder Emblem, I am interested in hearing your opinions on why it deserves the HotM award. Mac_Mini and Scalfittura didn't give reasons and pokedialga's reason for not voting for NB&W isn't a valid reason. 1) There is an English translation available and 2) even if there wasn't, the language that the hack is made in has little to do with the overall quality of the hack in my opinion.
Anyways, I would like to hear some opinions from the TE supporters. I believe that this thread should be used for discussion, rather than just a place to publicly announce your vote. If any of the 42 people (at the time of writing) who voted for Thunder Emblem could tell us why they voted the way they did, it would be most appreciated.

P.S. If you voted for White, you can also share your opinion on the subject but I am specifically looking for responses from people who voted for Thunder Emblem.

Seriously, if you aren't aware that there's an English version available, chances are you haven't even checked the NB&W thread. If you're going to take this competition seriously, you should at least look at the first post of each eligible hack. Your vote shouldn't be valid if you just vote off of the top of your head. Take some time to consider each hack's positives and negatives before voting please.

Exceptional scripting? You've gotta be kidding me.
From what little I could stand of the first part of Beta 1, I noticed that the scripting was far from "exceptional". The textboxes used multiple instances on "\n" and "\l", there was a noticeable lack of sound (especially when I received a pikachu without even the jingle), and I found several scripts that were left unchanged which is just disgusting. On top of that, when I opened up the menu in Oak's lab, it caused a glitch that forced me to shut off my game and start over. The scripting in both NB&W and White is light years ahead of Thunder Emblem's scripting.
I can't argue with you on the graphics not because they're good but because art is interpretable and everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I know that I, for one, enjoyed Never Black & White's graphics MUCH more than I did Thunder Emblem's. Even White's graphics appealed to me more than TE's.
Still, you've got your opinion and I can't change that. I hope for your sake you believe you made the right choice.
