View Full Version : PC clock off?

It seems to me PC’s clock is off several minutes. Being an apt stalker, I frequently watch what certain people do. XP And…even if they just loaded a page, it says they did it two minutes past th real time. Now my clock may not be entirely accurate—but it should be within a margin of error, and I’ve had other people complain about it. So…how does vB get its time anyways?

I allways though Vb got it's time from itself? I heard that it used it's own time chart going by the time zones, so it might be on. It's only off about 3 min for me.

Yeah, me too. But it’s annoying when I’m stalking people to do the mental conversion. x_x;

Stop stalking...comes to mind ^ ^;;. You kinda remind me of myself as I'm allwways checking to see what people are doing once there on...you do some odd stuff every now and then,lol. I'd say you might wanna take it up with VB itself.

It's fine to me, I just checked someone's profile (mine XD) and it showed up as it should be. Unless you are talking about something different X_X.

It's an internal thing. Sometimes (like now) the thing is way off...by 34 minutes at the moment. So it's allways gonna be changing I guess.

Yeah, the clock is off two minutes for me, and my clock is always synchronized, and never altered for anything other than daylight savings time if I live in a place where that applies.

I can’t post at vB since I don’t have access to the license. ^_^; But I thought maybe it got it from the server, or something. Would give us a lead. Of course I’m a total ditz about servers and…well, anything online, so what I’m suggesting could be off. o_O
And blue…nuu. Stalking is what keeps me happy. <3

Think I take after you then...just not to the "insainely mental" degree...

Hehe, it’s the little bit of Abby that shines through Kairi. But anyways. o_o;
I guess I could try to look into it tomorrow, it’s really annoying me. <<

Unless it can be somehow done from the panel, I can’t. I don’t have access to everything ya know.

I'm out of ideas then...just use a real watch?

Eww, no. Cause like I said I have to do a quick transition in my head. Like if it says Lightning is viewing a thread @ :03, I have to remember that’s really :06, or in other words now, not three minutes ago.

...you said "ewww" like using a watch is nasty...well then take it up with a admin? I'm kinda tired and I got school in four hours so I'm not thinking straight.

The clock in "Who's Online" lists their last activity. vBulletin doesn't get time, it's all to do with the server's time (Steve's server clock settings).

its off two minutes here. and Kairi, you scare me.

^_^ It's not that scary... you'd be surprised how easily you get used to it. But yeah, all scripts get their time from the server. Although, I know you can offset the time (most likely through the CP, although I don't remember where), I think you can only change it by hours, and not individual minutes. =\ So Steve's server's time is off.

<_< My computer's clock is never right, so if I'm ever looking at the time on vB, I compare it with the vB time at the bottom of the page.

Steve needs to update the Linux server's time and sync it. It is 2 minutes slow.

My clock is synced to the atomic clock... or if not... then it's 2 min fast. =/
