PATCH THIS TO A CLEAN RED ROM. DO NOT PATCH IT TO OLDER VERSIONS OF BROWN!
PATCH THIS TO POKEMON RED ROM WHICH HAS (U) IN THE NAME, NOT (UE) OR (J) OR ANYTHING ELSE!
Download 4.2 (http://www.rijon.com/hacks/PokemonBrownFinal.zip)
Compatability Patches (http://www.sendspace.com/file/nj09zp) - Patch these to Second Generation games and you'll be able to trade with Brown!
Website (http://rijon.nintendo-net.com/brown.html)
Stuck? Check this out. (http://pokecommunity.com/showthread.php?t=120156)

Update 4:
With 4.2:

- A new dungeon is released, complete with an original music track (besides battles)! If you've beaten the Rijon League, check out the house west of the Hayward Mart. It has several items and high level Pokemon, including some new ones! Be warned though, you need a good team to complete this.
- For some reason, seven secret items have been hidden around Rijon. Nobody knows of their usage yet, but I can tell you that they will be useful later. If you're eager to find all seven of them, you'll have to search throughout all of Rijon to find them all. One of them can be found just by completing the new dungeon.
- The "evolution with stats glitched until you level up once or deposit" glitch is fixed, however the glitch still affects only a few Pokemon. Mostly Sinnoh Pokemon.
- Due to high demand, I have changed Mew's moveset. Mew will not learn transform until level 51, meaning when fighting Mew, it won't transform and ruin your chances of catching it.
- Prof Tim's Aides will now count Pokemon past 151 as "owned".
- 4th Gen evolutions now have the same movesets as their previous evolution stage, instead of learning nothing at all.
- People cannot find the other location of the Gold Leaf, so I have made it so it always appears in the Ilex Forest Shrine
- Text strings for Route 61, Snorlax, and the Owsauri house have been repaired.
- Steelix is now a Steel/Ground type
- Certain Pokemon can now learn TM's that they couldn't learn before.
(As of 8:30 AM Tuesday July 28th):
- Rare Missingno's removed in front of the building.
- Ledge in cave replaced with rocks, you can't walk on top of them.
- When you deposit TM's they won't have glitchy names. The names will just be blank (as usual with Brown, I can't find a way to make them display the TM names when depositing, Red is REALLY badly coded).
- And one other glitch
(As of 7:25 PM Tuesday July 28th):
- Botan house fixed AGAIN
- Tangrowth now has a sprite.
-
- House in Botan isn't glitchy anymore.
- Lvl. 0 Gastly's don't appear in Slowpoke well anymore.
- Now works with TGB-Link. Trade away!
- Hayward City's music fixed
- Metronome and Mirror Move are now Fixed, and now Metronome also randomizes on the new moves!
- Sludge Bomb no longer uses Pokeball animation, the music won't get weird.
- Marts have been changes around a bit. Check out what they sell, you'll find some of the items very useful.
- Sneasel now evolves into Weaville with Razor Claw instead of Razor Fang
- Gligar now evolves into Gliscor with Razor Fang instead of Razor Claw
- You can now bike in Castro Forest, Haunted Forest, various Route Gates that wouldn't let you before, and in Johto.
- A few new battle animations to accuratly fit the new moves.
- The encounter rate for Clefairy's in Merson Cave were ridiculously low, so I increased the rate a bit so people can stop wasting hours just walking around it.
- Some super secret stuff added for the final quest. You'll find out what these are next patch![/B]
- Pallettes of Back pictures are fixed
- I redesigned a few parts of the caves so you can't walk onto the top of the wall when exiting a ladder.
- Meganium's cry is fixed
- Larvitar and Pupitar now learn the correct moves
- You can't walk over the ledge in Ilex Forest anymore
- Those complaining about a magical fence near Jaeru won't have to worry about that anymore.
- Crabhammer's animation is fixed
- Metal Claw doesn't crit everytime anymore.
- Wing Attack's base damaged has been increased to 60
- Charziard can now learn fly via HM, while the Totodile family can't anymore.
- Poliwhirl doesn't evolve into ????? when given a King's Rock. It now evolves in to Politoed
- Espeon's Pokedex fixed.
- Bulbasaur is green once again, and squirtle's palette isn't as messed up.
- Fainting in Safari Zone glitch fixed
- You must now fight Bugsy before getting one of his gifts.
- Fixes Trainer Glitch, he won't send out ????? anymore.
- Pokedex own glitch is fixed.

Compatibility Patches updated and fixed!

To update it, simply redownload a clean Pokemon Red ROM, and patch it to that, and rename the ROM to the exact same name as the older version of Brown.

Author: Koolboyman
Pokemon Brown is a classic hack that takes place in the region if Rijon. It has been refurbished after five years of it's original release. Not only is it improved with less spelling errors and errors altogether, but it has new areas, new music, new challenges, new twists, and of course, about 70 new Pokemon.

Notes:
How to Patch IPS files. (http://www.pokecommunity.com/showthread.php?t=73966) - Click There
- If you have a save file from the original brown, you can continue where you started off. However, due to memory shifting, your current progress in the Pokedex will be different. This was kind of unavoidable. If you want me to change your Pokedex back to normal, please upload your .sav file to sendspace.com and then PM me the link. I'll send it back to you with your Pokedex back to normal
- Pokedex won't update "own" when traded. This will be fixed in the future, and when it does, to add your traded Pokemon to the Pokedex, simply trade back and forth.
- There are a few minor glitches, such as the bottom right tile of some Pokemon missing.
- Pictures may be glitchy if you simply go to the Pokemon menu during battle and exit it.
- Some emulators have weird lines through the Pokemon pics.
- You can't hop over the ledges in Johto
- You can go through cycling road's check line like in Red. I don't think I can fix this
- If there's any other glitches, please PM me (don't reply to the thread pointing them out please), and I can most likely fix them up fast.

Features:
- Ten cities in the region of Rijon, one in Johto, and over 20 routes to explore.
- Pokedex is now up to 220
- Over 40 new moves
- TM set has been changed a bit
- Seven new types that weren't in Red
- A wide range of characters.
- A few new music track, including tunes from Johto
- New Pokemon will be compatible for trade with the second generation games and Prism once a special patch is applied.
- A quest after you beat the Rijon League
- And much more!

Working with TGB-Dual to trade!

MAKE SURE YOU HAVE APPLIED THE COMPATIABILITY PATCHES TO THE SECOND GEN GAMES OR ELSE THE TRADES WILL NOT WORK SUCCESSFULLY!

1: Run TGB-Dual, then close it. This will create a save folder.
2: Copy/Paste your Brown .sav file into this folder.
3: For the second player's .sav file, copy/paste it in the sav folder, but rename the extension .sa2 as well
- If extensions aren't showing up for you, google yourself a solution.
4: If your ROM is in gb format, rename the extension to .gb format.
5: Run TGB-Dual again. Under file, there's GB1 - Load, and GB2 - Load. These load the ROMs for player 1 and player 2. Load the correct ROM's up. If there is no continue option, you did something wrong, so start over.
6: You should be able to trade. When you're done, copy the save file's back to where you first copied them from. Once you copy back the .sa2 file, rename the extension .sav

Swap Sav files with your friends, you might need some help completing the Pokedex.

Anyone here know if pokemon movesets were edited?

A lot of pokemon were hard to use because they had hardly any moves. Koffing, for example - Until he turned to Weezing at like 30, he wouldn't learn a single attack other than his starting Smog and Sludge right before evolving

Da Man
April 12th, 2009, 04:09 PM
Charmander can learn Metal Claw, good thing it learned it cause I was almost done for in the first cave.

I'm glad you're all excited. I hope you're all having fun.

I just released the Second Gen Compatibility Patches. Download them here! (http://www.sendspace.com/file/f5gat9). Simply patch one of these to a second Gen game and you'll be able to trade. Future versions of Prism will come with this ability standard in the future.

Some movesets have been edited. I can't remember if I did Koffing or not though.

It is our old friend, missingno in a new outfit. Isn't it springlike and cheerful.

It's kinda like he put it there on purpose. I mean, there is no more glitchiness anymore! It's like a normal pokemon (the only glitchiness is it's cry and pokedex entry are the same as Blossom).

Sweet. Coincidence that I stumbled onto here on the release date, and, well, I'm obviously impressed. Kudos to KoolBoyMan, the effort put in is ridiculous. The only glitches i have stumbled across are minor ones such as the enemy palette screwing up when you enter the menu in battle. Really nothing serious.

My team of Charmeleon, Bellsprout and Porygon are doing me massive favours. I'm hoping I come across some second gen Pokemon soon. Also, some of the things that the regular citizens say crack me up.

I have a few questions:

1.how do you continue from an old save file? When I try it says that it can't load a red save file because the rom I'm using is brown.

2.For the prism compatibility patch, do you patch gold, or prism, because prism's a hack of gold and...

3.Do the 2nd gen patches do anything besides just making them compatible?

4. I heard you were going to make 1st gen patches to make them compatible too, is this untrue, or was it just too much of a pain to redo all that work three more times, when all that's needed to complete the dex is brown and prism?

First off, thanks a lot CBM for making this great game.
Second, do pokemon that normally have to be traded to evolve now evolve by level like in some hacks? If not, the game doesn't appear to work on VBA Link or TGB Dual...

Duuude i was about to download the original when i found out about this. So i waited waited and now its out I cant wait to start it. Got a problem tho.... i downloaded the pokemon red rom for my VBA (on a Mac) and it like speeds through everything. Like it starts up and everything goes like lightning fast. The patch does the exact same thing. Any help on how to slow it down to normal size?

and i know theres no discussion on roms here, i just wanted to help give a clearer image on my problem. thanks to anyone who can help me out!

Another problem... On the Prism thread it said on the type chart that fighting has no bonus damage against abnormal, but when a Machop used karate chop on my Porygon, it was super effective.

Another problem... On the Prism thread it said on the type chart that fighting has no bonus damage against abnormal, but when a Machop used karate chop on my Porygon, it was super effective.

I'm not sure but my guess would be that Karate Chop may not be a Fighting-type attack in the game. There are a few moves like that, for example Gust is neutral on my Porygon2 but Peck is super effective.

I'm having a rocking time on this game. I was curious as to how happiness-based Pokemon would evolve in this game, but I wasn't keen on using a Golbat to find out. I've just beaten Giovanni in the warehouse and so far the only glitches I have encountered were being done damage by Focus Energy one time, and my Croconaw temporarily having infinite heatlh.

Some people in-game are pretty darn creepy, too. One trainer tries to kill you with his Fearow (which he didn't actually battle me with).

hinsburg
April 13th, 2009, 02:31 AM
Two glitches:

1. Azalea seems to have some movement issues with those jumpable things that I still don't know what they are for some reason. The ones by the well are unjumpable and there were some other ones that I forgot that were near there.

2. Somewhere along the way I got a PP Up (as opposed to a PP UP) that only says "there's a time and place for everything" when I try to use it.

I'm not sure but my guess would be that Karate Chop may not be a Fighting-type attack in the game

Well actually that wasn't something CBM changed. For some strange reason, the developers overlooked that fact that Karate Chop should be Fighting-type, and instead made it Normal. This was fixed for all gens past RBY.

Also, FYI, Gust is Wind-type now.

Hey everybody I'm new here, but I was hoping I could have some questions answered...

1. I just began Pokemon Brown 1.0 about 2 weeks ago

-Do I wait until I finish the game before I apply the patch or do it now?
-How do I evolve trade based pokemon? (Alakazam, MaChamp, Golem, etc)

How exactly do I go about applying the 2nd patch? I use VisualBoyAdvance, does this affect my savefile?

Are there any missing pokemon in the original 1.0?? If so...can I trade between brown and red/blue?

I'm not sure if this is only my problem, but the third trainer in the basement of the Safari Zone (or whatever that park is called) has a glitch Pokemon known as ?????. Everytime I face him, the game just freezes completely.

Do I need my Silph Scope or something? Even still, the game completely freezing the first time lost me quite a bit of data ; _ ;

Trade evolve Pokemon have to be traded on Brown 1.0, but on Brown 2.0, you find trade stones.

Patch to a clean red rom

Your save file will not be affected. This same save file will work for any pomemon red based game, try loading it up with another romhack like Team Rocket Edition to see.

Edit - Also, make sure you actually load up from an in-game save. Using a savestate when switching between the old and the new might not work

If your save files are .sgm, does't that mean you're using savestates? Don't use them, use the in-game save on the start menu

One question how did you make crystal pokemon into red & blue?

flygonbreloom
April 13th, 2009, 09:10 AM
I'm making guesswork here, but I'm guessing he simply (Used loosly) added them to the table of Pokemon already existing, Red/Blue have room for 256 Pokemon, but 105 are not used and effectivly create what are 'glitch' Pokemon due to garbage data, same thing happens with moves (Don't gurantee me on the 256 number, it COULD be 255, cannot really be bothered finding out the value of FF right now).

The other games in the series use much of a similar method, except post-3rd gen uses tables with the capacity of over 65000 Pokemon.

Anyway, like I said, it is guesswork but I would guess it is how he did it.

Read the notes, it explains your problem that I couldn't avoid.

- If you have a save file from the original brown, you can also start where you started off. However, due to memory shifting, your current progress in the Pokedex will be different. This was kind of unavoidable.

manrae
April 13th, 2009, 04:43 PM
So, if the pokedex is messed up, and I'm in the middle of trying to finish this game...

Doesn't that render problems when Prof. Oak checks my pokedex???

I mean, I'm not sure which pokemon are missing in either 1.0 or 2.0 version, I'm not sure if it's (owning all 151) required for anything special...is it? If so, then there's a major problem wouldn't you say?

If capturing them all gains nothing special (kinda like the US version where all you got was a certificate) then it's not too bad of a problem, although prof. oak/timmy probably won't recognize your hard work and give you rewards (HMs/Itemfinder/etc)

This pokedex thing is a problem for sure

However, if owning all 151 is not required for anything special, then I can just finish up 1.0, then switch up to 2.0 after getting all the items from prof aides...for me (as long as Kool didn't change anything from red/blue) I only need the Exp all (50 pokemon) since I already have flash and the itemfinder

HOWEVER, if Kool has added a special bonus for capturing all 151 (or 230 for that matter) then there's a big big problem

2) If we need to re-patch, can you patch it again with the pre-patched rom or do I patch a fresher Red Version?

Thats because I had to move the data around for the hundreth time. With the update, your pokedex will be 0, but when you catch Pokemon in the future it'll be updated . I can't really do anything to avoid that, it's just how the memory of the game works.

No, what I mean is that the Pokedex own will be 0, but when you catch Pokemon in the future, it'll add onto the total. If you catch a Pidgey, it'll be 1. It just won't screw up the Pokedex when you withdraw Pokemon anymore. So yeah, your Pokedex had to be reset with the update, but with the way the memory works, theres nothing I could have done.

EDIT2: I decided to catch Mew with Ultra Balls, and I did, but it wasn't a Mew.

Only I know why that happened, but I'm not telling!

Anyone up for writing a walkthrough?

I see, well that's cool, I understand, after getting 50 pokemon from 1.1, and getting the exp all (I'd appreciate it if someone can tell me where the aide is with that) I'll switch over to 2.0

I downloaded the patch approximately 24 hours ago, so I believe it's the updated version, and I put it on a new Blue ROM. However, using the PC still reduced my Pokedex to 0. Great game otherwise, but this is a rather annoying issue...

EDIT: 'Doh-I just realized that I did indeed use a Blue ROM, and this of course is supposed to be a Red hack. Could that be the issue?

When I caught Mew, it turned into a different poke, is that another glitch?

And the trainer in the "Hole" in the safari zone that leads with a Kingler, glitches when it uses crab hammer only.

And in Azalea town, you can get a poke before beating the leader.

1. It transformed so when you catch it it's a ditto. It happened in Red as well. It makes catching it more challenigng anyway, these Pokemon should not be easy to get.

Hey ^^, I actually just registered to post in the thread eith a question, I was wondering whats the deal with the Punches (Ice/Thunder/Fire) in Pokemon Brown, they're special, right? Would it be possible to convert them to physical as I'm having major problems with movesets for my physical attackers, where my Starmie can use Ice/Noise/Water/Psychic, my poor Hitmonchan only has Mach Punch and Body Slam in his physical array.

I recently got Sneasel as well, it comes with Ice Punch which would usually be a great move for it, however it being special sort of ruins it >.>

Thanks anyhow, loving the ROM ;D - Reizo

So I was happily playing Brown today when I came across a very curious glitch. :L

As you know I was having trouble trading so I decided to see if it worked between yellow and borwn. So everything went smoothly, I traded my ivysaur from yellow for hitmonchan from brown and traded back again. When I got out of the trading room I checked my Hitmonchans stats...
http://www.fileden.com/files/2008/8/5/2036178/Pokemon%20brown2.0_01.pngHuh!? I could of sworn I was at level 26 before I traded it and it had a name as well!

http://www.fileden.com/files/2008/8/5/2036178/Pokemon%20brown2.0_02.pngHmmm.. This isn't right...
http://www.fileden.com/files/2008/8/5/2036178/Pokemon%20brown2.0_03.pngWait... Bubblebeam? At 61/20 pp Oh and Thunderpunch didn't have any PP. BEFORE I traded it only had Comet punch and Agility.

http://www.fileden.com/files/2008/8/5/2036178/Pokemon%20brown2.0_04.pngWasn't I at level 47 before?

http://www.fileden.com/files/2008/8/5/2036178/Pokemon%20brown2.0_06.pngHmm lets go heal and see what happens :)

http://www.fileden.com/files/2008/8/5/2036178/Pokemon%20brown2.0_07.pngOoo no glitcheyness anymore, but I still don't have a name!

http://www.fileden.com/files/2008/8/5/2036178/Pokemon%20brown2.0_08.pngHuh. I still have bubblebeam.........cool!

The screenshots are from the second try. The first time I was fighting an oddish which turned into a beedrill wich got poisoned when I bubblebeamed it then got frz then got burned all in the same turn. But that wasn't all then the beedrill had an hp bar similar to my hitmonchans which would of taken ages to get depleted but luckily i had the speed up button :D When the beedril fainted the game froze so I had to reset it but I was sooo sad that I didn't think to screenshot it.

So all in all I had a pretty fun half an hour with this. Apart from the oddish/beedrill thing it hasn't affected gameplay at all really. Im not complaining about it, just merely informing you of it, because in my opinion its glitches like these that make the 1st gen games soo hilarious!
And my bubblebeam gifted Hitmanchan will probably become a major part of my team now! Im just sorry that it aquired thunderpunch instead of Ice punch :D

Yeah, if you watched Datai's vids you'd know about that - the stats are messed up due to a bug every time a pokemon evolves. When they level up next, the stats are corrected.

Okay, a bug to list, if you go south of the ladder in Merson cave, you walk into the rock. Minor but something to report.

Love the effort put into this hack, a nice breakaway from Platinum, I plan to play it more. A minor issue to report, probably the fault of Lameboy DS, but the colour palettes don't really work properly in it, it also affects the border pretty badly. Anyway, like the effort put into the hack, Lameboy does not like it, but I like it. ^.^

Phanpy has a red backsprite and I think there might have been one or two typos with a couple people (Not sure though). The ledges in the ilex forest tileset don't jump, you simply bump into them like they were boulders or trees. Also this has been pointed out I'm sure but some of the pallets appear wrong on either the front or the back sprite, because the lighter colour and the darker colour were swapped when the pic was inserted is what it looks like

If you play it on a vbagx on the wii through the homebrew channel, the in battle sprites are messed up, similar to what missingno did in the original red/blue except it happens when tim introduces himself before you pick your name. The player's front sprite is ok though (not the backsprite) [and this only happens on vbagx, the hack works fine on my pc though]

Also, this is a little off the topic of glitches, but I asked this a few times before, and was never answered. This is the last time I'll ask:
Are you going to release patches for red blue and yellow that make them linkable with brown? I heard you were before, but they aren't out yet. I always thought it would be cool to play yellow with new pokemon (or for that matter, the original red and blue also).

edit: another glitch: You can get past the guard that blocks cycling road the same way you can in red. If you need more details, like how to "encounter" this glitch, pm me or google it. You might want to search pokemon red and blue glitches. When you get on cycling road, you're on a "rented" (or stolen, which ever you feel like calling it at that time) and can continue up cycling road, which wouldn't mean much if you couldn't get into the gate house at all until you get a bike.

edit 2:if you go to the pokemon stats screen while fighting the ice type gym leader is using jynx, it's sprite will change to charizard's
I'm using the 1st brown 2.0 patch and am not sure what you ment by the sprite glitch, so this may have been what you were talking about, and/or fixed
Also when I deposit ITEMS into the pc, it just says " was stored via pc" It never said the name of the item.

edit 3:sorry I just saw in your 1st post that it said to pm you glitches, so I'm going to pm you this entire post. :)

Update 2:

Issues I know about:
- Some emulators have weird lines through the Pokemon pics.
- TGB-Link isn't loading Brown for some reason.
- You can't hop over the ledges in Johto
- You can go through cycling road's check line like in Red. I don't think I can fix this

This has been the first time I played this hack, and I have to say that one thing I like is... being able to actually look at the backsprites for more than five seconds. :D

No, but seriously. It's fun. I guess my real favorite part is having all those new Pokémon in. Or maybe just having a new challenge. That sign that moves the rocks tricked me, because of course you can only talk to it from the front, but because I am used to talking to signs from wherever, so I thought it was just random that it was there when it didn't say anything. I never thought to see if talking to it from a different angle would do something. I might have been stuck there forever if I hadn't seen somebody mention it when I was looking for help. XD

Anyway, thanks for all the work you put in to make this such a fun game.

Found a new glitch. When you save in Azalea (or any part of Johto), sometimes when you turn the game on the map gets garbled (an example would be in Datai's vids but it happened to me too).

Porygon never did evolve in Red and you can use a Trade Stone to evolve Kadabra.

You can evolve Porygon into Porygon 2 but you'll need an item

I'm in the safari zone trying to catch an Electrabuzz and it's impossible , I'm trying to keep throwing balls at it and it keeps coming out after 1 twitch and if you throw a rock it runs immediatly and above all : it's more rare then rare .

But this isn't Red, it's a hack based on Red where you CAN evolve Porygon.

Ok back up. Read the thread. Someone said "Can you trade evolve Kadabra and Porygon in Brown or do you use items?" I replied "Porygon never evolved in Red" then someone said "He evolves by leveling up" and I said "No he doesnt because he doesnt evolve in Red".

How do you think Datai has a Porygon2 then? In Pokemon Brown Porygon evolves with a Upgrade which is in Silph Warehouse. So Porygon does evolve in this Pokemon Red hack.

XD, lol I have the Porygon 2! Let me sum this up for you all.

In the first 151 Pokemon in the original RBY games, Porygon had no evolution. Then, in the GSC games, Nintendo decided that he needed an evolution: Porygon 2. Porygon evolved in the GSC games by trading it from a GSC game to another GSC game while it was holding an up-grade. However, obviously you could not trade any of the GSC Pokemon back to the original games. When Coolboyman made this hack, he decided to edit the game so the GSC Pokemon were included in the Red hack, for the sake of epic hacking. But since, you really cannot trade Pokemon with friends on an emulator like on a Gameboy, he made special items for the trade-evolution Pokemon. He put in data for Porygon 2 in the original game and made the up-grade a useable evolution item instead of a hold and trade item. Thus Porygon 2 is available in the hacked game, not the actual Red version.

ashandmisty:

I understand what you were saying, although to most people it was coming across as you saying that since this is based on red Porygon can't evolve in Brown. Obviously we all know Porygon CAN evolve in Brown, and you would never have been saying it can't. But there is no need to get bent out of shape, it is a misunderstanding on both parts. In all honesty, this is exactly like.... 95% of the arguments me and my ex girlfriend used to have XD We were both right, and making two completely different arguments, we just both perceived it as one calling the other wrong.

Anyways, to sum it all up:

In RBY: Porygon has no evolution
In GSC: Porygon evolves by trade while holding upgrade
In Brown: Porygon evolves when you use Up-Grade (Found in Silph Warehouse)

Ashandmisty was right about it not evolving in red.
No one ever actually said you cannot get it in Brown.
Everyone was confused.

Okay, back to Brown now!:)

Many props to Koolboyman for creating such an amazing hack. Two problems I just noticed, the former being minor, the latter being very broken, are
1) Weavile evolves with razor fang instead of razor claw
2)After Weaviles stats change back to normal, it becomes invincible, whenever the opponent attacks, HP goes to a random glichy #, so it never faints

It might be just me and my game, but it might be worth investigating. Sorry I couldn't get a pic, I really don't have the tools and the know how to do so.

Nevermind. The Weavile problem sort of fixed itself. Still might be a problem, not sure. Sorry for wasting your time. Still an awesome hack, though.

The second one is part of the evolution glitch as explained in the notes. It obviously had lots of HP when evolved, so it had more than max when its max HP returned to normal next level. If that happens to anyone, a simple trip to the Pokecenter will fix it.

The first one was probably my bad. Remember, I had to put in over 70 of these things in with raw hex, so it can't be perfect. I'll make sure to fix it next time.

*Sigh* I give up. Keep on believing Porygon evolves by trade in Pokemon Red...

actually it can evolve in red, but you need to trade a porygon holding an upgrade FROM g/s to red. This may be like trading glitch pokemon from r/b/y to gsc, so it may not work everytime. My friend did this once, but I can't remember if this was the trade he used the trade cloning glitch with it, so you may need to do that. I don't remember if, in red, the porygon2 had a porygon's sprite, or a glitch sprite, but it did say in the stats in red that the species was porygon2, and in the 2nd gen game it had a porygon 2 sprite.

anyway, I thought of an idea to make it so you can't get on cycling road w/o a bike, but it WILL involve making a new script. You could make a guy that stands in front of the c.r. gatehouse and only moves if you have a bike with you.

also, I just found a glitch on accident, I don't know if it was posted before, and it was in the update 1 version of brown 2.0. It is attached.

No. It cannot. If i recall, G/S/C don't allow you to trade pokemon with items attached to R/B/Y/G. Now enough of Porygon and how he evolves.

I don't think I've posted here since Brown 2009, so I'd just like to say congratulations on fixing the hack! It was good enough last time, but now it's near perfect. All the language and map oddities are fixed, there are no significant gameplay glitches, some of the lower quality content is replaced...Brilliant. I don't think the psychic gym was...the way it is now in the original Brown, but I really like what you've done with it this time. Incidentally. has the "PP Up" in the warehouse been fixed with update two?

Just as a side note, I'm impressed with the increase in online maturity with people my age...no offense, but two years ago I could barely understand anything anyone said :P. Just noticed that reading some of the posts on this page. Kudos to them. ^_^

Depends on your version. If you got Gold just as it came out you could trade Pokemon back to R/B/Y with Items (and when they traded back, it still held the item). I can remember trading my Kabutops to my friend's Silver version and it held an item (a berry or something).

When I got my Gold it was like months after release and I couldn't trade Gold Pokemon holding an item.

Demo123

R/B/Y did not have hold items, hence not being able to trade Pokemon with held items to them from G/S/C.

But stop this conversation, it is spam in this topic.
