Articuno was always my favorite legendary bird in Gen I, and Lugia was my favorite in Gen II. I don't really like the Gen III/IV legendaries, so I'll go with those two.

Latios' type is formidable. Plus Giratina's and Palkia.

Hmmm...It's close between Lugia, Latios and Celebi x3. I have to choose Latios though, it's so awesome.

I fail to see how Dragon/Flying is very unique - but it's still awesome :)
Rayquaza, hands down!

Jirachi, just because it is so damn adorable. :3 Though I also love it for its unique and awesome signature move which not only has a good name (Dooms Desire; how can you not love that name? :3) but it is like Rain Dance but only lethal. :D Its typing is good (a few resistances thanks to steel :D) and gives it good STAB bonuses. Plus, I have one. XD

Heatran is my favorite dual type legendary by a landside. It is resistance to 10 types and it is immune to 2. One of them is Fire thanks to its ability and it gets a nice bonus when it gets hit by a fire attack.

Lugia is my favourite legendary of all time. New legendaries like Giratina, Dialga and Palkia aren't very good because it looks like whoever designed them tried too hard to make them look cool, but Lugia's simple design is what makes him so epically amazing! =D

Latias. Let's face it, Dragon and Psychic typing is just plain cool. Ghost/dragon typing is also awesome, though, so Giratina is also up there for me. ^^
