Since the 2nd Gen remakes are confirmed, you think Pokemon Special should have a HG/SS arc with Gold, Silver, and Kris back?

Discuss.

I hope so, Crys is one of my fav characters, and her arc was brilliant. I think yes.

They better. I'm slightly annoyed at the DPP arc so far...mostly because I haven't played the game and really don't feel like it, and I also don't think it's got a good storyline coming.

I think there will be a HGSS arc in Pokemon Special, but it probably will not begin until next year when the Platinum arc reaches its climax.

I don't see why not. They had a FRLG arc, so why not HGSS?

I hope so. The arc was the best I´ve read so far. And Johto is my favourite of the Pokemon countries, too.

(Quite funny... Nintendo confirms that remake... today, I guess, and immediately such a discussion starts. xD)

I really hope that there's more character development in that arc.... and I just want it to become a more of a adventure/romance as the arcs continue.

They will have an arc, as long as the HGSS has a sidequest that GSC doesn't.

i hope it does, i want to see the other 9 pokedex holders with some sinnoh pokemon. but there's got to be some radically new feature, not just another battle frontier, or its just a repaet of emerald arc.

Hmm... I don't really think the 10 will be back again in HeartGold and SoulSilver. I believe only half of them, not all 13. At least Kanto + Johto Pokedex Owners. Like FireRed and LeafGreen. They only have Kanto + Johto since they are not third installment of the games. A high chance that all the 13 Pokedex Owners will reunion in Platinum.

I'm pretty sure it'll merge into the DPPt arc as FR/LG did with RSE.

Well, out of all the Dex Holders, the Johto members have probably had the least amount of screen time (I mean, we never did find out what Gold has been doing these past several arcs), and then there's the deal with Giovanni. And I'm not sure that the Dex Holder's reunion will be in Platinum, since I suspect Miss Berlitz is trying to free the Sinnoh pokedex holders at this point. Oh, and I was rereading Emerald and found something interesting-there's a panel where Guile Hideout talks about how he's going to try to find the 'Sea Mirage Pokemon' after he takes over the battle frontier. Behind him, Manaphy appears as a sillouhete. That could be a possible plot. Then there's Pryce. I do so hope he'll be back :).

Yes the Pokemon Special writers do leave a lot of plotholes.

I think that the Pichu-Colored Pichu and the Notched-Ear Pichu will be featured in the HGSS arc of Pokemon Special since they were shown in the HGSS game screenshots, but this is all just speculations at this point.

I do not think it was reveal what happened to Dia and Pearl at this point?

I hope it does, but at the same time, the HG/SS storyline will stay the same, so there'd be no point in re-telling the same storyline over again in the manga, obviously. >_> Although it would be cool if some of the characters at least made re-appearances, even for a short time.

@ Mika555: Considering how much attention those two Pichus are getting, that's a good chance. I'm still going with Manaphy, though.

Hmmm...I wonder which Dex Holders would appear? Gold, Crys, Silver, obviously...Maybe Ruby, although I hope the arc wouldn't follow the exact same lines as FR/LG did.

Yes I cannot wait to see Gold, Crys, and Silver again although I am enjoying the DP arc and the Platinum arc. I can see Ruby being in their too since he was said that he was from Goldenrod City and to visit his hometown for some reason. The rest of the character might appear later on and it might led to them being incoporated in the Platinum's arc.

I believe there will be, but I'm more curious as to if the new girl will be put in. I'm fairly certain she will be, but what will her name be? It can't be Gold, Silver, or even Crystal. This may be the first character named after something other than the primary versions. If so, Heart or Soul?

Clover Cat
May 28th, 2009, 12:41 PM
@ Crystal-Walters: If they do put her in the manga, which I'm hoping they don't, I'm going to assume her name would be Heart. I still think that fits her better.

@ Mika555: They might not incorporate into the Platinum arc, though. My guess is that since the Platinum arc started first, it would end first. Either that, or the D/P arc ends and the HG/SS arc starts up in it's place.

Mmmm...Siiiilverrrr...@_@

Oh, umm...anyway...I'm sure they would, but if that creepy girl is in there...I'm going to explode. O_O Even I prefer Crys over her, and that's saying something. But what could possibly happen in this arc? FRLG had Deoxys at least. Arceus wouldn't work for HGSS since it resides above Mt. Coronet, which sure ain't in Johto.

@ SilverSmeargleSplatter: Again, plot-wise, I'm going to go with Manaphy. It's like the only legendary egg, and Gold is the breeder. It makes sense. And there's no way that Pokespe would just insert a panel like that for a wonderful plot device and never use it. Either that or those Pichus could go to Crystal and Silver and they make up the Johto Pichu trio! -shot-

And if that's not enough, Nintendo introduced new pokemon in FR/LG, why not in HG/SS? All we've got to go on right now are like...10 scans from CoroCoro, not many of which refer to the game plot. There's still room to expand.

Nice to see you on this thread, by the way.^^

I wouldn't mind a GSDS arc for Special, I personally didn't like the original GS arc that much so I'd like to see something new in the region to make up for that. The problem is really what the plot is going to be, but I guess that will be sorted out once the actual game's out.
I think the new girl's gonna be a Gold admirer, kind of like early Yellow. It kinds of fits her cute and girly design.

Concerning the new girl, I think the name Bronze would fit her well, to go along with Gold and Silver. Plus Heart/Soul seems kind of out of place with all the other characters' names.
Her having the name Bronze will probably never happen though, but I like it more than Heart or Soul.

RubyJB88

This may be the first character named after something other than the primary versions.

Not exactly true. The very first games had this same issue, with Red, Blue, and Green. In Japan, the male rival was Green. Elsewhere it was Blue, and "Green" would've been the name for the girl had she been in those games. For the remakes she became "Leaf", for both Japan and everywhere else, to avoid confusion. Here with the new girl they're following the same example.

If so, Heart or Soul?

By following the games, it would be Soul.

The writers tend to follow the names from the game. However, since the Kanto girl was known as Blue (and in other translated series as Green), she kept her name. This time it's different because it is a brand new character.

Ya'll can just call me Silver to avoid using that treacherously long username I have. xD Anyway, sounds like a plan to me. Well, Silver, would it really be so bad to ship her with him? If she does appear in the manga, I think I might ship him with her...*hides behind a rock*I mean, if I like her personality. THEN I will ship him with her. But that's a big IF.

They are probably gonna make "Soul" (new girl protaganist) be kinda like Yellow and have her main pokemon be pichu. And since gold has a pichu they could be connected in a way...

If they don't put the new girl in they are probably just going to change their outfits like what they did in FR LG

I'm pretty sure that new girl is going to be Crys with a new, arguable, ugly, outfit. If she isn't though, I'm already shipping her with Gold, since from the art I've seen they look pretty cute together. And I don't like Crys with Gold. She's better off with Silver imo, but then again, that's the shipper and gaame-fangirl in me.

Well that is your opinion I do not consider the outfit of the girl character in HGSS to be ugly and I actually taking a liking to it. I am starting think that they are most likely is going to happen is that Crystal will just wear the girls clothes. She already had brown hair in her debut in Pokemon Special it is shown in the Netkun's gallery (http://netkun.com/pockemon/gallery/gallery.html) in the 01st, 03rd, 04th, 05th, 09th, and 54th pictures. The official source never state that the girl was a new character as of yet nor did they state whether the boy was the sameone from the GSC game even though he resembles him greatly. They did not even say that the rival is the same either even though he resembles the rival from the GSC game greatly as well. People could idenify them very easily because of massive similarities they share with the character from GSC. I think that she should wear the clothes anyway even if this turn out not to be a redesign of her game couterpart or not. Not only will they have to think up a name of this character even if she becomes a dex holder but they will also decide what game version to name her after since there are no more fourth generation games left, color her eyes would be based off that game version and what Pokemon starter she will receive based on region, and they also have to develop a personality for this girl. I wonder of why Crystal had brown hair initially, was it because her game counterpart was originally intended have brown hair, was it because her brown hair was inspiration from another character, or was it simply for a random reason? I am not trying to be mean or anything but it even has not been decided in the games whether this was a redesign or her gamecounterpart and I see it as a more relevant to debate if the girl in the HGSS games is a redesign for the Crystal girl or if she is a different character in the game canon since it is the original Pokemon canon and compare to the game canon Pokemon Special is a very distinct canon even more distinct than the anime in terms of relationship and it is not even the only Pokemon manga nor was it the first Pokemon manga.

Yellow is actually the name in the game version and she was most likely created because the Pokemon Special writers all of the rival and protagonist have been used from Pokemon Red, Green, and Blue and they wanted and they want to create another character and name her after that game version. Pikachu was actually a starter in Pokemon Yellow unlike Pichu is in this game. There are two Pichus who play major roles in the HGSS games but they are not starters. Emerald was create because decided to create another character to name after the third version of the third generation games instead using Wally.

Then again it is all up to the Pokemon Special writer what they should do with the design. I was just voices my thoughts on the situation based on my analysis.

of course they will have a G/S remake

I do not think that even the girl's name will be Soul in the games because in the game the screeshot shows Soul as being a placeholder name meaning it is a default name for the playable character and the male character and the female character appears in the same story unlike in the FRLG games. I do not want to go indepth about the names though at the moment though but was an intense discussion about it on bulbagarden.

In the FRLG pokemon special, Red used Charizard and Green used Venusaur and the names "LeafGreen" and "FireRed" were born.
However, Leaf is the GIRL in the games.
This may happen again, and Crystal will still be crystal.
I don't like soul either.

You know, I did say the word "arguably" for a reason. It mean that whether the outfit is ugly or not is an opinion that people have said. I never said that I thought the outfit was ugly. I like it too. I'd actually cosplay it if I could somehow make the hat.

I already know about all of the Netkun/PokeSupe art. That's why I said that they are probably going to make them the same person. Her hair was initially brown because they wanted all their hair colors seem natural. Notice how they decided to go with Ruby wearing a hat instead of Ruby having white hair because it means that his hair color is a natural shade of black. I also think that whether this girl is totally new or a complete remake is up to debate. Bulbapedia is edited by fans. This does not make the speculation they write confirmed. If it's still Kris/Crystal, then I'll be plenty happy, even if her hair color isn't the same.

You're really presumptuous. In a bad way. Not that I'm trying to be rude or anything, but you took a small comment, not even my full opinion, and decided to practically almost rant on it. I choose my words carefully. You should take note on that.

I'd happily love to point out that the pixel art used for the trainer for Yellow, is the exact same one for Red in Mt. Silver in GSC except recolored and flipped. This shows that Yellow is supposed to be Red, but the manga creators decided against it. The creation of a new character was pointless, but whatever gets your ratings up man. The problem is that is new girl really is a new girl, she needs a name, not a persona. She wouldn't really have a starter either since you can't choose Pichu as one.

Oh dear...I sense the makings of a flame war here. >.> Guys, this isn't a thread to talk about the new girl, or any of the characters specifically. This thread is for us to talk about the possibilities and plots of a HG/SS arc in the manga. There is another thread to debate and talk about the new girl. While I know we have to mention her in conversation, since she IS part of the game, she shouldn't be the topic of an entire post.

I'm sorry if I seem rude, but that's the way it is. Now onto better things!^^

In general, the new Pokespe outfits didn't appeal to me at first, but I have to admit I'd love to see Gold in those new pants of his...XD

Other then that, I wonder which legendaries will appear in this (Hopefully) new arc? My guesses would be Manaphy, maybe Arceus. Although whether or not he will appear at all is debatable...I mean, how the heck would the writers try to fit 'Creator of the Universe' into a manga? O.o My brain aches just trying to think about it...

I apologize I was just frustrated about the fansites announcing that the girl was a different character, but when I found later that it has only been their assumptions that kind of irked me because they posted unverified claims. If she is a different character I am willing to accepted it on my own if it is actually proven though. I really do not intented to sound rule, but if I did I wil try to be more himble when I am discussing topics.About the of the part of the conversation I was just until the next quote I was talking in genaral. Yes I know that Bulbapedia is edited by fans and is similar to wikipedia, but it was actually a discussion on a forum, but I did not argee with everything that was said, but I will not go into detail about the discussion on this form though. By the way I am not a man.

I will go search for this pixel art that you speak of for Pokemon Yellow though.

I think that Cythnia would appeared in the Shinto Ruins as well with Arceus in the Shinto Ruins and the Notched-Ear Pichu and the Pikachu-Colored Pichu might have a role since they are even Pokemon. How will Jirachi appear in the arc. Manaphy could appear in the HGSS arc somewhere, but I would what role it would play. I think that Phione could appear in the arc as well if Manaphy and a Ditto are together. So since Blue has a Ditto it could work somehow.

Not necessarily and since Team Rocket are the villians in Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver they will most likely be in the Pokemon Special adaption and there really is no 100% certainty that Giovanni has change and even if he is not the villian in the HGSS arc they could use someone else though I am waiting to actually see if Giovanni returns in the HGSS games or if someone actually takes over Team Rocket to come to a final conclusion.

I think that the Pikachu-Colored Pichu would be the ones to Travel with Gold at the beginning before the Notched-Ear Pichu appears and somehow he comes across an egg and it hatches into the Pikachu-Colored Pichu.

By the way there is already a separate called 'What's going to happen to Crys?' thread to talk about the 'new girl'. It is a couple of threads below this one.

will all the pokedex holders reunite in platinum and when will the three pokedex holders of sinnoh get the rest of there pokemon

I think some of the dex holders may appear in the Platinum arc while the rest appears in the HGSS arc if it happens which it is mostly likely the case just like some appeared in the FRLG arc and the rest appeared in the Emerald arc, but who knows may be something different and all of the Pokedex Holders do appear in the Platinum arc and the HGSS arc decide to take place a year late.

Dia has caught a Licklicy a couple of chapters ago and Bryon gave him his Shieldon. The Luxio at the beginning of the Diamond and Pearl arc evolved into a Luxary and aid Pearls to stop Team Galatic and eventually joins him and in the most recent Netkun magazine Pearl has caught a Buizel and two other Pokemon which are currently unknown. Platinum has said to caught some Pokemon after her gym battle with Candice, but they are unknown as well.

At this point, we still don't know what the real plot of Platinum is, since D/P still isn't finished, but I agree with this. Although I can't really see how some of the Dex Holders would show up, the way it's going. I mean, yes, in FR/LG Silver appeared, sure, but that was near the beginning of the series, wasn't it? I don't think that if the other Dex Holders were going to appear, in either Platinum or D/P, they would have waited this long, at least not without some kind of mention. So far both series have only focused on their respective Holders.

My theory is that Platinum connects to D/P in that Dia and Pearl are somehow transported to the Other World during the final battle by Giratina and Platina is on a mission to try and find more information about it. Although I'm not really sure why she's going around the BF, but it makes the arc more interesting. ^^; Anyway, that's not what this is about. I really don't think that, with what we've seen so far, the Pokedex Holders are going to be making an appearance in Platinum. I mean, I know it's somehow been established as a tradition, but I just don't see them reappearing in this arc. I think it's more logical to believe that the other Dex Holders, who I am going to assume are the Johto Trio, the Hoenn Trio, and maybe the Sinnoh Trio, will appear in HG/SS, and the final meeting would be in 5th Gen. But my theories are usually wrong. :P

Blue/Green(Girl) is 17 by that arc. D/P may take up one year, then the platinum arc may take another year.

What about the Kanto Dex Holders? I know that Red, Green, and Blue will be 17 or 18 years old when they appeared but was it ever stated that they will retired from being a dex holder when they reach 18 years old and what about Yellow as well. I could see the Kanto dex holders making an appearance because the residents of Kanto and Johto has close ties with each other. I also could see Ruby going to visiting a someone in Goldenrod City since it was his hometown. the lines and Sapphire could accompany him or something along the lines. Emerald seem to have a close relationship with Crystal so I do not see any problem with him appearing either. The question is how are Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum will make an appearance in the HGSS arc? I guess we will have to find out.

Red, Green, and Blue are three years older than Gold, Silver, and Crystal. Emerald arc took place at the beginning of July of that year, which was two month after the FRLG arc meaning that the FRLG arc took place in May of that year. Crystal is 13 years old since her birthday is on April 30 in the Emerald arc and Gold and Silver is 12 years old since Gold's birthday is July 21 and Silver's birthday is December 24. So in the FRLG arc Red, Green, and Blue were 15 years old in the FRLG arc instead of 16 years old since Red birthday is August 8, Green's Birthday is on November 22, and Blue's birthday is on June 1 the FRLG arc, however Blue was 16 years old in the Emerald arc since her birthday has pass though. I am going to assume that Gold, Silver, and Crystal will be 14 or 15 years old in the HGSS arc.

I've said this before on a different thread, but I'll say it again-just because Kanto is close to Johto does not necessarily mean that the Kanto Holders will make an appearance. Certainly, it's liable that they will make an appearance, a cameo or a mention of some kind, but I don't think, based on how much screentime they've gotten in the series, that they would. I'm pretty sure that they'd have to eventually based on the tradition of "Have all the Dex Holders gather together at the end of some kind of arc" but that doesn't mean they would appear in HG/SS. They could just as well appear in 5th gen. And personally I'd love to see the Dex Holders grown up and having jobs, but also still taking on their responsibilty as Dex Holders. Green would, at the very least, since he's Oak's grandson.

And wow, where'd you get all that info, Mika? O.o Well, either way, Gold and co. will be older and more mature then they are now. That's all that matters to me. XDD

Actually the anime never follows the manga/game. HGSS will contain Gen I dex holders without a doubt(Actually its pretty doubtful:P?). I think that Gen I dex holders may just do something like they did in Crystal or in Emerald in the end. I hope that Gold, Silver and Crystal(probably the new girl too) will get enough space in this manga.( I would be dissapointed if red and co. don't make an appearance though as Red and co. are my favourates, specially Red!) In the end I just want to say that the creators of the manga always surprise us and will definitely surprise us this time too!

It still depends on how the game version of Red and co. is woven into the game's storyline.

In a way, Gold dragging Red with him at the end of the GSC arc can be said to be inspired by the Red vs Gold battle at the end of Gold and sliver version.

We do not know the who story of the DP arc so the Kanto dex Holders could make an appearance in either the Platinum arc or the HGSS arc. They do not have to play a major role either to appear for all we know they could in the last chapter of the HGSS arc and still make an appearance. I got the information about the Pokedex Holders birthdays from the Pokemon Special magazine. Also keep in mind that we still have yet to know about the Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver games meaning that Red or Green (meaning the game character) could aid the player in some point of the game and it could be a possibility that it could be incoporated in Pokemon Special as well.

EDIT:
I just remember Byron mention in the magazine version of the DP arc that someone from other region won 8 badges in 80 days. I think could have been refering to Sapphire. If this sentence is released in the volume version then one of the first 13 pokedex holders would have been mention.

Like I said, Mika, I think that since Kanto is close to Johto, they might get a mention or a cameo or something, but I also think an HG/SS arc would focus more on the characters I stated earlier. And if Platinum and Emerald are anything to go by, then I think it would be more likely to believe that Pokespecial will incorporate a new area from the games. It already placed Red and Green back in the original arc.

Really? Hm, you could be right-but there's also a chance it could be Red, couldn't it? I agree with it being Sapphire, though; it would fit better with the newer generations making appearances in HG/SS.

Okay I see what you are talking about though it could be a possibility that Red and Green (the game characters) could make brief of appearance in the additional areas.

I wonder how the new Johto dexes and PokeGear will be distribute. The question is how will they be distribute. I have some ideas that they could already have their update Pokedexs and PokeGear or they will get a notification to pick it up. On the wallpaper for the official site I so something that resemble an Ancien East Asian setting. I know you all might think this is crazy, but anyway I think their is a possiblity for a couple of chapters that the writers could have the Johto dex Holders trap in the past it could rewind or fastfoward to another point in time to show some series of events. Then the timewrap could occasionally rewind or fastfoward them to other period of time.

Certainly, if they do something like move the final battle with Red to a new area, then it's possible.

That is actually an idea I've had myself. O.O I also thought that, if they do any time traveling, it could mean the return of Pryce (Not to mention his Piloswine might evolve). What? It could happen--recycling villains is something Pokespe does. Not to mention if they keep the Serebii event (Or update it somehow) then I think that possibility will increase.

As for Pokegear+Pokedexes...Hm. You're right, they probably WILL update them, based on their new appearances, but how to do it...Maybe if Elm is brought back (Which, you know, he probably will) then they could create a new plot there? Yeah, lame idea...^^;

I like the idea of time travel but I wonder if the Johto Dex Holders will interact with people of the past if so I wonder how it will it affect the future. That is if they are able to communication with people of the past.

I would not be surpise if Pryce could return since he has been lost in the vold of time and I would not be surpise if he was a villain again either because as you say Pokemon Special does recycle villains and Pryces Piloswine becoming a Mamoswine by ancient power could mean that it would be a stronger opponent. I think that there is also a possibility that Professor Elm will come back though I am wonding what role would he play in the HGSS arc?

Something that I realized recently is that Pokespe never had a flashback or reference to Gold's past. See...
Red-He was well known as a strong battler before Pokespe began
Green-His training at Chuck's
Blue-The whole of the G/S/C arc was a flashback for her.
Yellow-When they revealed her reason for disguising herself as a boy
Crystal-They had that flashback when she was training as a kid
Silver-Same as Blue in FR/LG
Ruby-The flashback with Sapphire
Sapphire-The flashback with Ruby
Emerald-When they revealed his reason for coming to the BF
Dia-He and Pearl are childhood friends
Pearl-He and Dia are childhood friends
Platina- This is from the recent summary, but apparently she's been to lake Acuity before but lost her memory there (Uxie perhaps?).
As you can see, Gold is the ONLY one who's past hasn't been elaborated on. I think that in HG/SS, this could be a chance to utilize his past and time travel in some way. That and Manaphy--His 'Breeder' ability hasn't been used much either.

Yes, Pryce might return. But I can't really see him as a villain--remember, at the end of the G/S/C arc his heart 'melts'. So, technically, he's a good guy now. Maybe he could come back as a sort of...Helpful character? And if they do another, "Proffessor gets caught by the bad guys and held hostage" I will scream. That was the only thing I had an issue with in FR/LG.

Okay, please don't laugh at my theory. So, we don't really know much about Gold's past, but the title for the games is HEARTGold, right? Maybe Gold actually has some kind of dark past that he needs to get over. I told you not to laugh. >.>
Anyway, perhaps Pryce landed in the time when Gold was younger? Then the plot unfolds from there...somehow...^^;
Well, what I really want to know is whether or not Pokespe will cross dimensions with the Pokemon Rangers manga, like with a reference or something. That could explain where it came from. And since Gold's always travelling around on his own, maybe he goes to Sinnoh and comes across the egg by accident? Maybe the Hiker gives it to him? (You know, the one who gives you Happiny in the game-I haven't seen him appear yet)
Oh yes, new thought--isn't one of Manaphy's moves called 'Heartswap'? And it's HeartGold? I could totally see that working with the name thing in some way. I feel even more certain that Manaphy will appear now.
EDIT: Another thought-With the new event for HG/SS, where you can get either Dialga/Palkia/Giratina, do you get them in an egg? If so, then that could be something for Gold's ability. Also, it's been rumored that other legendaries (Latias, Latios, and Mewtwo) can be gotten in the remakes. Do you think this will be brought into the manga in some way?

But Heartswap is more of a move, temporarily switching stat damages (or in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, temporarily switches the body of the user with another player). I was expecting to see Manaphy in Sinnoh (from what happened in Fiore).

I was just thinking what reasons would Gold have to go to Sinnoh? I was just thinking since Professor Elm traveled too Sinnoh in the Diamond and Pearl arc then he could have been the one who came across Manaphy's egg and takes it back to Johto and somehow gives it to Gold. Anyway if Manaphy appears in the HGSS arc 'Heartswap' move could work if it let's Gold switch bodies with temporarily with one of his Pokemon though, but what reason would he need to do it for though see how has Pokemon feel or to feel how it is like being a Pokemon if so what Pokemon would most likely switch bodies with? If Latias, Latios, and Mewtwo are brought into the manga they could play a minor role where if all of the Legendary Pokemon come together to stop an sinister force of some sort.

Though the I was wondering in general how would the word's 'heart' and 'soul' connect with Gold and Silver respectively as it relates to the tell of Ho-Oh and Lugia since the writers incoporated the words 'fire' and 'leaf' with Red and Green in the FRLG arc? The legend said that Ho-Oh leaves the Brass Tower to search and find a trainer pure of heart though is there any human without flaws meaning person most likely does not have to be perfect, but have a good heart. Anyway Lugia leave the Brass Tower to goes to leave deep in depth of Whirl Island which could be related 'soul' because Lugia the emboidment of the sea.

Wait, Elm comes to Sinnoh in the games? When? I thought that was only with Prof. Oak. And I have this image of Manaphy using Heartswap on Silver and Gold and they switch bodies. XD -shot for idea- The fact that you might be able to get Mewtwo in the games might mean his return in Pokespe. Did he get caught by Sird or not? If not, what the heck has he been doing? And I can't see Latias/Latios coming back, since they had that whole scene in Emerald where they say goodbye. Why bring them back at this point?

Oh, the legends said that? Then maybe that's what happens. But I don't know...At the end of the G/S/C arc the narration goes, "The two legendary birds returned to their towers and were never seen again." or something along those lines. Although they brought Raikou back, and the dogs were supposed to stay away along with the birds, so...I still want to see Manaphy. :3

See, they could say Manaphy originally came from or was brought to Sinnoh, but came to Johto in the course of events in the HG/SS arc. Whatever they may be.

I meant to say that Professor Elm appear in Pokemon Special at a press conference something like that Chapter 355 'Vs Unown II'. Maybe something drastic will happen again in Pokemon that cause Ho-oh and Lugia to leave the Brass and Tin Tower respectively. That is a brilliant idea if Gold and Silver switch bodies maybe they will get to know more about each other that way, however we know more about Silver than we do about Gold though I think it is still a good idea and they might elaborate more on what happen to Silver's mother. They could also mention something about Gold's father some possible storylines being that Gold's father died, that he is a illegitimate child, or parent got divorce. Now you mention something about Crystal meeting up with Euisine in another thread I think that might work somehow though I have to see what role if any will Euisine play in the extended storyline of HGSS. I would think that the Johto dex holders would be together through most of the story though, but it is possible for these events to occur in a couple of chapters though depending how the arc will be. I am not sure about Mewtwo returning maybe he will, but we will have to see? If he gets caught by Sird, she might brainwash him to do her evil work.

OH. Yeah, maybe...And lol, I think the Preciousmetalshippers would love that. :3 But yeah, maybe some event happens and Silver realizes something about Gold's father...Like...Who else do we know who gambles and can use a billiard cue?...I don't have a clue. ^^;
Yeah, I guess. I can see him coming to a BF like area, if there is one in the game. (Although, you know, since I love Mangaquestshipping...>.>) And I just want to see them travel together, if only for a while. I would love that. XD
I honestly think that Mewtwo is a sort of back up plot device for future chapters/arcs/whatever. That way, if Sird is somehow decided as the main villain in HG/SS, they can say that Mewtwo WAS caught by her at the end of FR/LG. Although I don't want to see him be evil anymore...D8

Very funny. I think they would love that too. Anyway it makes me wonder want kind of person Gold's father was. Maybe he uses he could have been a business tycoon and his mind was clouded with so much on wealth, power, and money or something like that and he let it get to his head, and it lead him to his death is somwhere else and the manison they live in was burned as well and so was the money, but I am not saying that he did not have a good side though. I am just saying that I suspect his father to have flaws. Gold and his mother was the only ones that have survive the fire everyone else died or were they? Let say that the fire was start intentionally by someone and it is reveal later in the arc by who the cooporate is. Though his father was believe to have died from the fire and is somewhere else but feels shame and regrets. That a possible backstory I can think of it is probably think of at the moment.

I think that maybe Gold's father had some sort of flaws, yeah. It would explain why Gold's personality is the one we know and love. XD (Or I love, anyway. :3) Did they ever show the underground of Goldenrod City in the manga? Maybe he was a black market waiter there, or something like that, if they didn't. Isn't a black market a place were illegal goods are brought and sold, but think it could be a possible idea. There are some other that I have thought of. I think that his father could have been a casino manager though that is too predictable. How about an economist of some sort? Though if they do mention Gold's fatherhis occuption could be something that we did not expect. I wonder if Manaphy appears in Johto will and switches Gold and Silver's bodies that when Crys is traveling with them that she would be getting confused. Then again I really do not like the idea of Gold and Silver having their bodies switch for the entire arc though. Do not get me wrong I like the idea of Gold and Silver switching bodies, but not for the entire arc. Manaphy probably will only decides to switch them back until they have learn about the deep meaning heart and soul. I can also see Sird as the main villian of the arc because at the end of the Emerald arc Crystal it is reveal that Guile Hideout who is known as Archie was given the armor by side and Crystal is probably searching for the culprit but no has no luck to the point where the HGSS arc beginning and it seems like Sird has some connection to Team Galatic as well but what is this connection. Is she just using Team Galatic and is going to end up betraying them and goes to Johto for some reason.

Well, yeah, it is. That's why I think that if Gold's father gambled, or something of that sense, he could have worked in the black market. Still, the only reason I brought it up was because I don't think the Goldenrod underground was used/talked about. Although I'm not entirely sure about that.

Oh no, even I don't think Kusaka wouldn't have them switch bodies for the entire arc. Maybe for a chapter something. And imagining it...LOL, emo moody Gold and playboy Silver. <33 -shot-

The whole Sird thing is really a possible future plot device, nothing else. If they use it, they do, and if they don't, they don't. I don't see Crystal looking for the culprit, though, unless they somehow tie up the D/P/Pt trio in HG/SS. Even then, they should already know about TG anyway, and said TG should be destroyed/eliminated/broken up by the end of the arc, so I don't think it would. A lot of people seem to think that Sird is actually Jupiter in disguise, although seeing her in scans, it doesn't really click for me. And if she DOES flee from TG, then why wouldn't she go to Hoenn? That's where the BF was. And Johto is even less likely because it's right next to Kanto, where the Sevii Islands are.

Yes, that would be a good time to elaborate on Goldenrod underground and explain the story about Gold's father since he could use a back story.

Now that would be interesting to see though I can find that Silver would be ticked off at Gold if Gold does something that make him furious while their bodies are switch, but cannot lash back at him at the moment because he does not want to injury his own body. Though went they switch back it could be a different story.

Good question why would Sird have fleed to Hoenn, but maybe there is something in Johto that we do not know about will be in the games and the writers of the manga decides to use it as a reason of why Sird fleed to Johto instead of Hoenn if she will be used as a plot device. I am not sure maybe that Arceus event where Cynthia in the game go to the Shinto Ruins, which are located in the Ruins of Alpha and you either have to choose Dialga, Palkia, or Giratina could be incoporated in the arc somehow. Dialga is said to make time go rapidly or slowly, Palkia can warp space create alternate dimensions, and Giratina can control dimensions about time and space. Maybe this would have something to do with the Johto Dex Holders coming across the Sinnoh Dex Holders probably most likely about in the middle or towards the end of the arc, but I really do not know exactly how since we the DP arc has not finish and it never really explain yet about how the Platinum arc is connected with the DP arc, but I know that Platinum said that she was search for information about the Distortion World . Though I am trying to think of how it would tie to the time travel theory. Maybe if both time traveling and dimension traveling is involve it could tie into a possible plot for the HGSS arc.

Well let's see Darkari's abilities were induce sleep and control dreams. So it has to happen at on the night when when the Johto Dex Holders are sleeping for Darkai's abilities though which the sleeping person to have nightmares. If Darkari appears than it is a possibility Cressilia could as well. Cressilia abilities is to bring peaceful dreams and heal emotion. Of course Cresslia could appear later than Darkari. If Sird, has gone to Sinnoh on New Moon Island and she could catch Darkrai and use it on the Johto Dex Holders as a way of attacking them use of course this is if Sird is used as another plot device, but they could use someone else as the main villain of the arc though that same tact could still be used though.

Also there is another thread to debate about whether Crys will wear the outfit or not. It is called 'What going to happen to Crys?', which is almost at the bottom of the page.

I don't think the Dragons would, actually. I do not mean that they will play an important role and I am thinking that their role would be minor in the HGSS arc. I was just saying that since Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina appear in that Arceus Event, which could be an adaption of a possible plot of the storyline. The ruins that Cynthia was in the game Shinto Ruins, which is a part of the ruins of Alpha is considered to be a well known religion that is practice in Japan. So let's say they after they go back in time for ten years in a time warp that they go back farther than that and finally lands back in the time where the Ruins of Alpha were no longer ruins. here is a possible purpse Notched-Ear Pichu is from the past and is met in Ilex Forest by Celebi's Shrine when the player has the Pikachu-Colored Pichu. So what if the Notched-Ear Pichu was sent to the future to get help to stop some sort of sinister force, but they do not know what she is trying to tell them since most of the dex holders cannot understand Pokemon language except Yellow. Also I just thought about the fact that if Sird is made the main villian then she could follow them into the past and noboby suspects it at the moment.

Yeah, but they wouldn't make a real appearance. Although I agree that the Shinto Ruins is definitely a possibility, seeing as it's a new area, and in the D/P arc the Alpha ruins are mentioned as well. But we still don't know what the NE Pichu does in the games, so that's open to theory.

Yes it is true that we do not know what the Notched-Ear Pichu does in the game. Here is my theory if the Johto dex Holders go to the Shinto Ruins in the HGSS arc the Notched-Ear Pichu uses a move that causes them to be sent back in time though Arceus and either Dialga, Palkia, or Giratina has something to do with it as well and the move that make could be a combination. I know for the event said that you have to choose one of the three dragons meaning that only one of the dragon trio will appear at the ruins, if so which one will the writer choose to appear this is assuming that time travel is involved. I though of something since Shinto is actually a religion in Japan and the new area is possibly named after that my theory is that the Shinto Ruins a could have been shrine where people of that time go and worship in the Ruins of Alph and which may have impact with the heart associated with Gold and soul associated with Silver. Of course the ancient people would not refer to them as the 'Ruins of Alph' because 'ruin' in term dwelling means demolish and abandon. They probably would call something along the line of the Kingdom of Alph, Alph Kingdom, or simply Alph. Also when was the Ruins of Alph built. I know it say that the Tanoby Ruins were built over 1,500 years ago though it is a pretty short period of time compare to when ancient civilization arosed in real life because 1,500 years ago in real life speak would be around 500 C.E. I hope the Ruins of Alph was at least built at least 2000 years old. Although their earth could be younger than our earth in age. I notice that the Brass Tower and Twin Tower was built 700 years ago so I want to know where were Ho-Oh and Lugia prior to that time. I have a theory since Ho-Oh is the 'guardian of the sky' and Lugia is the 'guardian of the sea' so may be their task watch over the sky and the sea.

How do you know Sird is knowledgeable in Sinnoh? Where does it say that?

Well in the second to last chapter Sird recited the Veilstone's Myths, which is part of the Sinnoh Myths in the second to last chapter. The follow quote that I have below is from bulbapedia.

Veilstone's Myth (Japanese: トバリの しんわ Tobari's Myth) is about a young swordsman.
A young man, callow and foolish in innocence, came to own a sword. With it, he smote Pokémon, which gave sustenance, with carefree abandon. Those not taken as food, he discarded, with no afterthought. The following year, no Pokémon appeared. Larders grew bare. The young man, seeking the missing Pokémon, journeyed afar. Long did he search. And far and wide, too, until one he did find. Asked he, "Why do you hide?" To which the Pokémon replied... "If you bear your sword to bring harm upon us, with claws and fangs, we will exact a toll. "From your kind we will take our toll, for it must be done. "Done it must be to guard ourselves and for it, I apologize." To the skies, the young man shouted his dismay. "In having found the sword, I have lost so much. "Gorged with power, I grew blind to Pokémon being alive. "I will never fall savage again. This sword I denounce and forsake. "I plead for forgiveness, for I was but a fool." So saying, the young man hurled the sword to the ground, snapping it. Seeing this, the Pokémon disappeared to a place beyond seeing...

I am just wondering how will the Johto dex Holders meet up with the Sinnoh dex Holder's though. Maybe I should wait to see at least the end of the Diamond and Pearl arc though I can only could to a more better conclusion after the Platinum arc is finish though the HGSS arc is probably going to be a magazine with the Platinum arc, but a different grade.

Remember we do not exactly know if Platinum is trying to rescue Dia and Pearl, if Dia and Pearl are already or Battle Frontier, Dia and Pearl has gone on a trip away from Sinnoh.

By the way did we call the Ruin of Alph the 'Ruins of Alpha' which is exactly the correct spell because on bulbapedia it is spell 'Alph'.

O.O I don't really get how to do the math for time travel (My brain aches just thinking about it, ARRRGH. *Clutches head*) but that sounds pretty logical. Honestly, I'm hoping that Pokespe dumbs it down so I can grasp the basic concept for it. ^^;

Speaking of time travel...I was rereading Volume 15 at the local bookstore (Because I hate to buy it and then carry it around >.>) and you know that scene when Gold is sitting on top of the shrine? And how Crys goes, "G-G-Gold! How...?!" Gold just answers that he's really stubborn and how dare the others kill him off so easily (Love that scene, btw <3). But, see, why didn't they EVER explain how he got out of the time vortex? I mean, if Serebii did save him (Like it did with Pryce and Ruby) then why didn't they insert another page or something to show it "Exerting it's time power" or whatever? They did it for R/S, so why not for G/S/C? POSSIBLE PLOT POINT PERHAPS? 8D *Shot*

Well in the second to last chapter Sird recited the Veilstone's Myths, which is part of the Sinnoh Myths in the second to last chapter. The follow quote that I have below is from bulbapedia.

Ah, okay. That makes sense, with the FR/LG ending. So if she knows the myths...Does that mean that she IS going to appear in HG/SS with the Ruins? Hm...

Well, whether or not they'll appear will probably depend on the end of the Platinum arc. We'll have to wait another year or so for that.
Yeah, but I think that it's fairly logical to assume Dia and Pearl are lost in the Other World and Platina is trying to save them. The way she wishes they were there seems like a good hint to me, and then she's trying to get information on the Other World, which I can't understand why she'd do if they were just on a trip or something. So, if Platina does manage to save them or Sird returns in Platinum, I think either of these could appear in HG/SS.

I think it's Alph. Although I'm not a very reliable source for information. ^^;

I hope they can break the concept of time travel down as well. I do not know why the writers did not elaborate on how Gold got out of the time vortex maybe they will explain how Gold got out of the time vortex in the HGSS arc.

Well, whether or not they'll appear will probably depend on the end of the Platinum arc. We'll have to wait another year or so for that.

That could be a possibility and could give Sird a reason to make an appearance in the ruins, but one will notice her present at first but after the time vortex is create she and her the Johto dex holders into it. There is a possiblity that she could have henchmen and henchwomen who will follow into the time vortex as well.

You have a point about that. I pretty sure the writer will figure out a way to connect the Platinum arc with the HGSS arc. If Sird does in the Platinum arc I think that she would apppear towards the end of the Platinum arc, but I could be wrong. the Hoenn dex holder could show up in mid-way of the arc though I wonder how they are going to aid the Johto dex holder. Ruby use to have Celebi, but he released it near the end of the RS arc so how will they aid the Johto dex holder unless the Johto dex holder return to the prsent at near the end of the arc or if Ruby meets up with Celebi again and ask Celebi to take them where the Johto dex holder are. Also whether they include the Kanto dex holders is the writers choice. I wonder how the Sinnoh dex holder will react to meeting the other dex holders. I alway picture them meeting up with the dex holders from other region, and wonder what it would be like to interact with them.

I think it's Alph. Although I'm not a very reliable source for information. ^^;

Yes I think it is Alph as well. Sometimes I get similar words mix up with each other.

EDIT:
What if some archeologists and was present at the Ruins of Alph and has recently made a discovery about found some artifects belonging to the ancient people and found some ancient text, and a skelton or at least a skull and it would be brought to the anthropologists for analysis of live there in the civilization which could be by the relate to the plot later on. Okay let's see if the Johto dex holders were to go back 10 years ago as you mention early in Johto would they meet will meeting their past selves affect but while they are ten years in the past they could also assuming that Pryce is ten years old then he would be willing to accompany them as, well however are reluctant to trust him at first. While they are ten years in the past I think that a previous discovery related to the Ruin of Alph should be mention as well. Though this all depends on if the writers will decide to include Pryce in the story. Then they could go back 150 years ago in Johto to witness the buring of the Tin and Brass Tower. Then they go back 700 years old when the Towers were built in honor of the relationship between humans and Pokemon. Then they go back farther then that until they land in the ancient civilization of Alph which could possibly be where the Notched-Ear Pichu is form or they can go back in time first get warp to a later time. Also I wonder if the writers would have Cynthia accompany the Johto dex Holder in a time vortex since she does appear in the Shinto Ruins in the game because they almost alway have supportive character accompany the dex holders on their journey.

EDIT:
By the way I think it would be good if the writers incoporate the Pokéthlon would be incoprated in the HGSS arc somehow.

*Is too lazy to quote and instead points at Mika's post* ^

Maybe Pryce comes back due to some Time/Spacial accident by Dialga/Palkia. And that's another thing, how does the time vortex relate to space in itself? If it's just "Time", as in a timestream or something, I could sort of get it, but it's warped space in the time vortex, according to Gold. So, is IT the Other World? Which makes no sense, because that concept shouldn't have existed in the manga at that time. ERGH, too confusing...*Brain implodes*

Maybe Sird's henchmen/women could be the TR executives that...Well...Disappeared at the end of the arc. You know, the other masked children other than Silver, Blue, Will, and Karen? (I can't remember their names. >.>)

Again, I don't understand how time travel works, but the that seems like a good theory to me. ^^; Although the one thing missing would be HOW they travel through time, but that could always be some random Legendary that hasn't been brought up yet.

And speaking of the Shinto ruins...Maybe they could have some connection to the Alph ruins? I mean, Platina does mention them (I think it's her) when they show up in the D/P arc. At first I just thought it was referencing to the HG/SS upcoming game, but looking back it seems kinda weird that the manga would hint at that if it was going to become official in only a few weeks.

Maybe the Pokethlon could be something like an event where the story takes place. Either that or the building itself is TR HQ...Which would be a ripoff of the previous arcs, so I wouldn't like that.

I know this sound strange but it is possible that they would travel a reality-like world. I got that idea from seening those cutscenes from Arceus, but if that does happen I hope they do not put real people in it and yes the time and space process it difficult to grasp and it can make a person brain exhausted. Even I have a hardtime think about it. By the way the Team Rocket executives names were Chermaine and Keane. Yes maybe that could happen like that if the writer choose to have Pryce come back and it does cause someone to keep into deep though about time traveling and maybe we should stop talking about how time and space travel process. since it is kind of difficult to grasp at the moment. I could see a good chance that Chermaine and Keane joining Sird because their designs were are based off the executives in the Pokemon Gold and Silver so they will most likely get the new design of the Team Rocket executives. Though the two administers, who could be possible new villains in the HGSS arc, will appear first before Chermaine and Keane make their possible debut in the arc itself though the writer make Chermaine and Keane shadows first. I would not go by the picture below as a definate appear of what Chermaine and Keane will look like because the Rocket executives and administors designs have yet to been post on the officially HGSS website meaning that this could be a protype of the characters.

I wonder what their Pokethlon clothes will look like and I wonder if the writer will give them the game character's clothes or create their own clothes. I can imagining that they would look atlhetic. The special attributes Pokethlon are speed, power, technique, and jump. The events that are listed are Dash Hurdle, Ring-Out Fight, Shooting Show, and Bounce Field. I wonder if their are different levels to those competitons such as beginner, intermediate, and professonial. I wonder if the battle would be a battle royal or a battle against different regions?

*Takes the time/space subject and locks it away* Yes, this shouldn't be discussed until either the arc comes out and actually USES the concept and explains it, or it comes up at another time. (And everyone knows what I mean there, cough cough.) Anyway, where did you get that picture? Well, it's a Pokethlon, and the Pokemon participate, so I'm pretty sure that the characters wouldn't get new clothes just for that area. I could sort of understand it for contests, but I don't see it happening for the Pokethlon. And a battle against different regions could be a way of bringing in other characters in the manga, but I don't think they'd do something like that in the games, would they? Not that it matters, since the manga could always do something like that anyway. Oh yes I got that pictures that came off of imageshack and you aredoes not even look like an artwork from the video games though I think it is the artwork from the Pokemon Trading Card game. I am not sure about the female Rocket Executive being Silver's mother she looks to be to young unless she had some affairs with Giovanni and they had Silver out of wedlock and yes I saw a clearer picture of the Rocket executives designs.

Wouldn't that mean that Chermaine would be Silver's mother since Chermaine is based off the character design of the female executive in the original games and therefore will most likely get the design of the Rocket executive in HGSS. Silver was currently about 13 years old in the Emerald arc making Chermaine 28 years old so that means that she would have been 15 years old if she had Silver and Giovanni would have been in his mid or late 30s that could make things seem kind of distrubing becaues remember that this is not a seinen or josei manga.:\ Though I wonder what would happen if the Chermaine was revealed to be Silver's older sister though? Though the female executive would have to be hinted to be the Silver's maternal half sister but like people said that his mother does not neccessarily have to have red-hair meaning that one of Silver's grandparents or even great-grandparents and so forth could have had red-hair but was skipped a parental line such as the red-haired trait could have been given to that great-uncle or great-aunt instead of his grandparent. The gene could also skipped a generation entirely as well.

Really? Could you post some pictures for me to see?
I saw the picture on movie clip on another site, however the site is in German not is English. The link is in spoilers below. I cannot really tell what the characters are wearing from just look at the site though, but I can tell they are wearing something different from what they usually wear in the game.

Speaking of which, seems like the Pokegears got an update as well, along with the Pokedex. Remember how they received the new versions in the FR/LG arc? I've done the math. Chermaine was kidnapped when she was 14, so at the time of GSC, 9 years later, she would be 23. Depending on the time period, all you have to do is add the years since the GSC saga.

Oh, and also, having Pryce, Chermaine, and Keane back would be AWESOME!!!!! I LOVED them in GSC.

Good question, what if Professor Elm decides to give the Johto dex holders new Pokedex and Pokegear somehow and co-develop them with another Professor.

Well, this is the reason why the thread exists. XD Do you have any ideas?
Well Pryce picked the either mask children to be three years apart and went by gender meaning that Silver would be the youngest who was 2 years old, Blue was 5 years old. Will was 8 years old, Karen was 11 years old, Keane was 14 years old, and Chermaine was 17 years old at the time.

I think that Will and Karen would come back as well, but not be villains but instead play a supportive role like Lorelei did in the FRLG arc. Also I would like some minor characters from other regions to participate in the Pokethlon. By the way do you think that the Wi-Fi Event which is called Yellow Forest will be incoporated in the HGSS arc somehow?

Speaking of Will and Karen...What happened to Koga and Bruno? I mean, apparently Bruno trained with Brawly at some point...But Koga just disappeared. So did Agatha, come to think of it. And she looks a lot like Bertha...Hmm...Family relation maybe? And I'd like to see Koga meet his daughter. Now THAT'd be interesting.

The Yellow Forest could always be another name for Viridian forest in the manga. Yellow was born there, after all...Not that the possibility is zero.

Well Koga and Bruno formed the Johto Elite Four with Karen as far as I heard. I Bruno could have already trained Brawly prior to the RS arc but I do not think we know when. Brawly mention it in the RS arc meaning that he has already trained with Bruno. If Agatha does appear I wonder if they will use her design from the FRLG games if she does not make an appearance in HGSS I also want this manga to incoporate the idea of Agatha and Bertha being related. I think that Agatha and Bertha could be twin sisters not only do their names sound in English but in Japanese and some other languages as well. I am looking fowarded to see Janine again. I would like for her and Koga to meet up again if they have not already because they could have meet up and the readers of the manga do not know it.

Yes there is already a chance that Yellow Forest could be Viridian Forest, but what if the Johto Dex Holders get sent Viridian Forest in the past and at the time the forest was inhabited by Pikachus. We could say at that time the people in the past called it Yellow Forest but it was renamed Viridian Forest for some reason and the writers could say in the arc that Yellow was named after the previous name of the forest which was the 'Yellow Forest'. Though you probably want me to stop talking about time travel though.

Here is a chart that I got from bulbapedia

Agatha

Language
Name
Reference to
Japanese
キクコ Kikuko
菊 Kiku, chrysanthemum.
English, French, Italian, Spanish
Agatha
Ironically means good and kind, but likely chosen for similarity with aghast, ghost or hag.
Korean
할멈 (Halmeom)*
국화 (Gukhwa)*
Literally means old woman.
Means chrysanthemum (菊花), in Japanese kiku.
Chinese
菊子 (Júzǐ)
From 菊子 Kikuko.

Bertha

Language
Name
Reference to
Japanese
キクノ (Kikuno)
菊 Kiku, the chrysanthemum (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/chrysanthemum). Sounds similar to Kikuko (http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Agatha).
English
Bertha
Means "bright and famous". It's similar to "earth", and is also similar to "Agatha".
Korean
들국 Deulguk
Combination of 들 deul, Field and 국 (菊) guk (in Japanese kiku), Chrysantemum, which is also a reference to 국화 Gukhwa, Agatha (http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Agatha).
Chinese
菊野 Jú Yě
From 菊野 Kikuno, a name.

I notice that both Agatha and Bertha were originally named after a plant in Japanese but how does the 'ko' and 'no' at the end of there last name differ in meaning?

Ah, okay then. Had me confused there for a while. ^^;

Yes, Mika, the reason why they joined up together is because in the games they make up the Elite Four. But what I want to know is what they did in the manga. They weren't mentioned, other than the Bruno thing. And I wonder if Jasmine will reappear? I hope she does. (You know, since she probably reappears in D/P...)

Well, the time travel thing isn't a bad idea, but I really hope that the Pikachu thing isn't used. <= Was scarred when she saw the anime with that episode

'No' and 'Ko' are basically just syllables, since they're written in Katagana. If they're written like they were in Chinese, though, then it could be that Bertha's 'No' means 'Meadow'. Agatha's 'Ko' means 'Child'. Although I really don't know what that could mean. And Agatha and Bertha look too similar; When I first got to Bertha in the game, I mistook her avatar for Agatha (Based on what I remembered from Pokespe).

Yes I would like for the writers to make Jasmine appeared since we have not seen her for a while, and it would be a good time for the writers to let her make an appearance in the DP arc. I wonder if her Togetics will evolve into Togekisses. If the Pokemon Special writer decide to incoporate the Pokethlon in the game and make it a regional battle then I hope they bring back some supportive characters that we have not seen for a while. Though it would be impossible to focus on all of the supportive characters at one because there are much more supportive character then they were since the GSC arc if you count the ones from Hoenn and Sinnoh. I really did enjoy that gym leader battle in the GSC arc. It would be great if they let the Gym leaders from Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, and Sinnoh face off against each other. Though there is a little chance of that happening and it probably happen in the GSC arc because Kanto and Johto share Pokemon Leagues. I would also like if the Elite Four from different regions battled each other as well although Kanto and Johto Elite Four are one in the same. I would like it if the writers did make Agatha and Bertha twin sisters. I do not think that the writers really did not went into character depth on Agatha's background. Bertha has not made an appearance and that appearance as her being a shadow in the lastest magazine does not count either because she did not appear in person.

Personally, I want Gold's Togepi to come back at least as a Togekiss. Just imagine what it could do in it's evolved form. O.o That and the other baby Pokemon...
Agatha just disappeared. I mean, what the heck has she been doing ever since the Yellow arc? And Bertha was in the magazine? On the netkun site? Must check.
According to the latest CoroCoro scans, it revealed that the Apricorns, Bug Catching Contest, and the Battle Frontier next to Olivine that was in Crystal return. There's also a Safari Zone next to Cianwood City in the new area. I'm going to assume that the BF as well as the SZ will appear in some way. (Don't know how, but they will.)

The Battle Tower was in Pokemon Crystal but will be extended into a Battle Frontier in Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver. Though I hope that the final battle will not take place at the Battle Froniter because it would become an overused plot. I hope it would end somewhere in a different time or dimension. I just thought about something while the Johto dex holders are traveling along the timewrap they meet a young Agatha and Bertha then that way we would know more about Agatha past. We could also learn about Bertha as well? I wonder how the Poketholon, the Battle Frontier, and the Safari Zone the HGSS arc plot? Maybe the writers will make the HGSS arc last longer than the FRLG arc.

Ah, right. Still, it's in the same area. Agatha and Bertha in a timestream...If they actually are related. I'd like the arc to focus more on the Pokethlon and SZ than the BF this time round...And if the HG/SS arc is longer, all the better. <33

I hope they focus on the Safari Zone and the Pokethlon more than the Battle Frontier as well, but it is all up to the writers. Do you think that the Kimono Girls Naoko (Koume), Sayo (Sakura), Zuki (Tamao), Kuni (Sumono), Miki (Satsuki) will appear in the HGSS arc since they have a more significant role than they do in the GSC games. Some people also theorize that there will be two more Kimono Girl because Leafeon and Glaceon has been introduced. Also I do not get why the English game translators dubbed their names as different Japanese name when they already had Japanese names.

Hm...maybe. The fact that they're battling against TR could be useful, storyline wise. And they could, but I don't think they will. Glaceon and Leafeon weren't originally in either G/S or Crystal, so I don't think that'd be an addition in the remakes. And the translators always do stuff like that, you learn to live with it. (Not that it doesn't bother me, but whatever.)

Yes I guess I would have to learn to live with it. Now is a possiblity that their could be new Kimono girls who appear much later on games themselves after the player. receive the National dex. If so they will along with the rest of the Kimono girls will be incoporate in the arc and would appear much later on than other five who might appear close to the beginning of the arc. I just thought about the idea of the Eevee evolutions relating to nature elements, which water, thunder, fire, light, darkness, grass (or something like that), and ice and it could be relating to decipher an ancient text of some sort which could a warp to allow a person to travel to and from different times or dimensions or they could relate to defeating a sinister.

I could see them appearing if they appear in the games after the player completes the game, yes (i.e., once TR is disbanded again, the E4 is beaten and the player gains access to Kanto). Then again, if they only appear after the end of the game, it'd be kinda pointless for them to appear post-game. Besides, the elements/ancient text thing could easily refer to Arceus' plates, especially if it includes time/dimensional travelling.

You have a point about Arceus' plates though, but I wonder how exactly the ancient text will be decipher would it be the Notched-Ear Pichu and the Pikachu-Colored Pichu that helps unlock the mystery. I saw the Johto Battle Froniter on the Official Japanese HGSS site and it looks identical to the Sinnoh Battle Frontier. That could mean that they would have the same facilities and the arc will thus most likely become repetitive, but some people did say that a tag-battle of could be present at the Battle Frontier though that really is just speculation though. Remember that we discuss earlier about Sird not going to Johto because there was no Battle Froniter in the GSC game. We can eliminate that choice since there is one in the HGSS games and could be incoporated in the HGSS arc.

About the two Pichus, if their use in the arc (If they even appear) is anything like their use in the movie, this is going to be terrible. The NE Pichu didn't even DO anything, it was only a side character.
If the Johto BF is identical to the Sinnoh BF, maybe that would mean Scott would come back? But I agree with you, that would be fairly repetitive.
Tag-battle? What? With who?
And the reason I said Sird wouldn't go to Johto was not only because the BF would be there, but also because Kanto and the Sevii Islands are so close. She literally has nowhere to go--if Jupiter IS actually Sird in disguise, of course.

The Pichus could have been hatched by Gold as he is the Breeder. Hopefully they could bring back Pika and Chuchu.
Scott didn't show up in the Sinnoh Frontier only the Hoenn one(I think?)
(The frontier art for HGSS is indeed the same as Platinum's)
I think I don't want another battle frontier either
I feel like, even though this region was used before, it still has a lot of area that can be revisited
same question: Tag-battle? What? With who?
I'm not too sure about what you mean about her having nowhere to go however

Like I said before, Gold needs to be shown using his ability more often. (He used it twice, guys. Even Silver's ability has had more attention than his.) This could be with the Pichus, as you said (JOHTO PICHU TRIO!!! <3 *Shot) or with Manaphy, which is what I predict.
Geez...It's exactly the same? Why'd the game creators do that? Well, the BF shouldn't be used, now, seeing as how Platinum is where it takes place...And yeah, I think the Underground Market, for one. That and they could show us who the new Gym Leader is to replace Pryce (Come on, it's been more than 3 years since that incident, I THINK that they ought to have found someone else by now.)
What do you mean? Sird (I am going to assume we're still discussing Sird) can't go to Hoenn, with the BF incident, nor Kanto, with the Sevii incident. Johto is next to Kanto, and would no doubt be an unwise area to hide in if she's a wanted criminal. If Sird really is Jupiter (this is still speculation, but I think the possibility is high) then she can't hide in Sinnoh because of her activity there. True, Johto is probably the best place to run to, but it's still not a smart decision on her part.

Or even worse... Gold ends up staining his Pichu with a Pikachu color...(I haven't seen the movie, so I don't know if there is a story behind the Pichus)
The gym leader... I have almost no idea... But you'd think it'd be someone kinda Evil, it'd be no fun if every one was good
As for Sird, why wouldn't a criminal be in Johto. As long as they are stronger as those around them, criminals can resist. Sird may think highly of herself in no one defeating her
And just clarifying: Its been 3 years since the last Johto Adventures (as opposed to 10 for the fans), right?

If not the only person I can think of as his replace is his wife in the games who has not appeared in this manga so far. I asked the same thing about the Battle Froniter and why didn't the game develops use a different Battle Froniter entirely. If Jupiter is Sird in disguise are the same person then maybe Sird could be a master of disguise and her disguise herself again as she go to Johto and there is alway the possibility that both Sird and Jupiter are her disguise and that her real name is something else. Though that is deep thought though. By the way I do like the title 'The Johto Pichu Trio'.

I agree that the writers should put Gold breeder abilities to test. Though I know that in the games that the Notched-Ear Pichu appear when you have the Pikachu-Colored Pichu in your party so I am think that it would be the Pikachu-Colored Pichu and Manaphy that hatching from the egg and one day Gold goes to Ilex Forest for some reaosn near Celebi Shrine and the Notched-Ear Pichu appears. About the BF stuff, I'm pretty sure that was just a placeholder image to show what features are coming back, so I doubt GameFreak will use the same exact BF as Platinum. Most likely, they're waiting until the game comes out to reveal it. So there won't be any confusion in Special since the BFs in both games are most likely are going to be different.

Also, PCP and NEP are baby pokemon, they can't breed. *shot* I don't think Sird and Jupitier are the same person, Sird is in her 40s-50s while Jupitier is in her earlier 20s, they might of met in the past or have a spirtual connection of some sort.

I don't care if the BF has the same buildings (Not that it doesn't bother me), the problem lies whether or not the leaders are the same. If they are, then I am strictly against the BF being used, unless for a very good explanation/reason by the writers.

Also, PCP and NEP are baby pokemon, they can't breed. *shot* I don't think Sird and Jupitier are the same person, Sird is in her 40s-50s while Jupitier is in her earlier 20s, they might of met in the past or have a spirtual connection of some sort.
Yeah, but that doesn't mean that their parents couldn't breed. *Stares at Pika and Chuchu* And Sird, like I said, is still under speculation. Personally, I do think that she is Jupiter (Blue can manage to look like a person 30 years older, so why not Jupiter/Sird?).

Yes, but who's participating in the tag-battle? Are you talking about the Lance/Main character double battle? And if Scott appears in the Sinnoh BF, it might be...Interesting. Although then I'd be fairly convinced that it would not reappear in the arc.

Oh, and someone asked about the roles the Pichus played in the movie. I've seen it, so I'll say this: The PCP does not appear, period. I hope that you are right about the Battle Frontier.

Here is some other theories Sird and Jupiter could be Jupiter's mother and they were put under a curse to cause them to feel the same pain, Sird drunk some potion to make her look younger, or Sird is a shapeshifter.

The only one that had an appearance in the movie was the NEP, and like I said, she was a side character. Besides, the anime/=games, so this shouldn't really be important anyway.
I really do not know who will participate in a tag-battle if it is at the Johto-Battle Froniter. I have not seen the Movie 12 of the Pokemon movies as of yet, but they the writers in this manga could give them a more important role such as being used in the Pokethlon battles or the Johto Battle Froniter. What could be a possible plot scenario for the Safari Zone in the HGSS arc though?

I hope that you are right about the Battle Frontier.

Here is some other theories Sird and Jupiter could be Jupiter's mother and they were put under a curse to cause them to feel the same pain, Sird drunk some potion to make her look younger, or Sird is a shapeshifter.

Well it is basically most likely will be based on the additional features that are present in the HGSS games that was not present in GSC games.

Okay, no offense Mika, but those theories don't really sound very logical to me.

Yep. Remember FR/LG? Those were remakes of the original R/G/B games, so it would make sense for them to make another storyline for HG/SS.

Wait, so what were you talking about earlier? And I guess...It's just, I don't really see them being that useful...Besides, there are plenty of other legendaries that still need to be shown. Maybe you could catch a new Pokemon in the Safari Zone? Lame, I know. >.> Personally, I'm beginning to think that Arceus will be shown...And Manaphy. I'm too stubborn to give up that theory.

Well Sird could have shapshift using a Ditto if not on her own and their is always the case that Sird could be a person who has special powers granted to them at birth.

Well I was think that a scene could take place at the Safari Zone and it is under an attack and someone could possibly brainwashes the Pokemon in the Safari Zone and give them commands to do their sinister work. I notice that Cynthia is interested in mythology and history and she research and explores sites with related Legendary Pokemon so that be a reason of why Cynthia would go to Johto and the Shinto Ruins in the Ruins of Alph in the HGSS arc. I really think that this could support the time and/or dimension traveling theory. In Pokemon Platinum Cynthia goes to the Distortion world but I wonder how would it connect to the HGSS arc. I have a theory that Cynthia studied some ancient artifact, skulls, and/or full skelton and theorize that the two groups of ancient people from the Solaceon Ruins and the Ruins of Alph had some kind of alliance or rivalry with each other at one time which could be a reason to go to Johto to do some analysis on that theroy.

I also wonder if she mentioned that she have been to the Tanoby Ruins on the Sevii Island, but that depends on if the Tanoby Ruins is present or at least mentioned in the game. I know that it is very unlikely that the Hoenn region will be in HGSS but do you think that the Hoenn Ruins will be mentioned in the arc which are the Desert Ruins, the Ancient Tomb, and Island Cave as well as the Rock Peak Ruins, the Iceberg Ruins and the Iron Ruins, which are located in Sinnoh since those are the Ruins where the Legendary Golems Regirock, Regiice Registeel is seened at in the games. I know that Brandon had the has the Legenary Golems in the Emerald arc but prior to that the Regis could have migerated to and from Hoenn to Sinnoh depending on the seasons.

I know that the Arecus Event in the games have something to do with creating Pokemon and either a level 1 Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina hatches from an egg. So do you think that it would be said in the HGSS arc that Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina sacriface themselves and died in an epic battle that took place in the Platinum arc and only one of them is reborned or do you think that they will be more than one Dialga, Palkia and Giratina though that seems kind of illogical in my opinion.

Is it possible that the Unown could have some connect to the ancient writting system used by the inhabitants of the Ruins of Alph, Tanoby Ruins and the Solaceon Ruins. I notice that Unown ? and Unown ! are do not have any information that is known about them unlike the other unknown due to the fact that they have appeared after generation II and the Unown dex has not been present at that time. I am theorizing that the Unown are present in the Shinto Ruins maybe the secrets of those two unown be unlock it will open a time and/or space portal. Also I notice that the Braille that are found by the Regis chambers in Hoenn and near the Ruby and Sapphire stones on the Sevii Islands contains a period and a comma if there were unowns called Unown . and Unown , are introduce in HGSS then they could also led to creating a time and/or dimension portal. I figure that the ancient people living in either Tanoby Ruins or present day Hoenn could have invented the Braille system based off the Unown alphabets and the system involved and it is still used in the present day.

Here is the Table for the Unown dex in spoilers below followed by the Braille Table. I got both of these for the bulbapedia pages.

Like with the BF Pokemon? But I agree with you about Cynthia, except for the skull thing. I don't think something like that would be included. (Now, if we're talking POKEMON bones, that's another story.)

Tanoby Ruins? Doesn't ring a bell...Was it in the games? And about the Regis, I don't know. Really, it depends on if the ruins are used, period. Still, it would seem kinda weird if the Regis weren't included...

I think that in the games, you getting to choose one doesn't mean that only one of the Dragons lives and the others are sacrificed--I think it just means that Arceus will allow you to choose one to raise. Now that could bring up some questions of it's own...

Ergh...I don't really get all this about dimensional things. For the Unknown, I guess it's possible, but I really don't think the manga would be that in detail. It might be, but I don't think so. And even if the time/dimensional portal thing would be real, it still brings back the questions of why they would go back to the past and what they would do there. IF we're even right about our theories.

Like with the BF Pokemon? But I agree with you about Cynthia, except for the skull thing. I don't think something like that would be included. (Now, if we're talking POKEMON bones, that's another story.)

Yes like the Battle Froniter Pokemon was being controlled, however the Pokemon will do something more drastic such as the Pokemon may be the army of the evil antagonist and will reeking havoc towns and cities or even worse the evil antagonist find a way to time travel and the brainwashed Pokemon from the Safari Zone reek havoc on ancient town and cities which could have some affect on the present-day time. The people would think that they are under a curse and would try to find a scapegoat. If it is dimension travel they could go to a two-dimensional world, a three-dimensional world, a reality world, or another animated world and the Pokemon reek havoc on those world and the people in those world would come to believe that Pokemon are sinster creatures that must be destroyed at all cost.

Okay then let's say that Cynthia did went to Johto because she discover some Pokemon bones it would be one of the Pokemon of myths bones which are not quit considered Legnedary Pokemon such as the pseudo-lengendary dragons, Gyarados, Milotic, or Togepi/Togetic/Togekiss.

Yes it would be I am hoping that they include the Regis and explain how they were found in both Hoenn and Sinnoh.

Yes that does bring up some questions of it own and I wonder which Dragon would the writers of this choose in the HGSS arc for to raise? Though that is probably something that we will not know until it is shown in the arc if the writers decide to use that as a plot device.

Well I know that we mentioned earlier that the Notched-Ear Pichu would be from the past so what if she went to the future which it is the present time and the Pikachu-Colored Pichu is want attracted her attention she battle PCP and when he defeated her she decides to join the group. Though since Pokemon cannot speak any human language no one will know what she is saying unless the NEP could have Psychic powers and can communicate telepathically or if someone could read her thoughts such as Yellow.

If our theories are right maybe completing the Unown dex in its entity along with Arceus and one of the Dragon Trios could open some kind of gateway to time and/or dimension traveling.

You know, I hate to reference back to the anime, but I think that in the...7th? 8th? Movie, there was a past scene where Pokemon were used as war weapons. That could be an idea (Not completely the same, of course, I just thought Pokemon warfare might be interesting to see.). And as for the scapegoat, maybe one of the Dex Holders could be a resemblance of someone in the past and...Get...Chosen as a scapegoat. >.> Maybe Silver? (I don't dislike Silver, I just think he might be the best type for a scapegoat. *Shot by Silver fangirls*)

I can't exactly imagine Gold (or Green) trying to raise a miniature Dragon, for some reason. Something that all powerful (and previously used in plot, I am going to assume *Stares at D/P and Platinum arcs*) shouldn't be given to teenagers. Or adults, at this point, whichever. Maybe this whole summoning act could be a kind of Legendary meet? I wish...

Speaking of that it was said that Suicine subplot is going to be extended and I was wonder if the Tanoby Ruins on the Sevii Islands would be related to it in someway. It is also said that Eusine story from Pokemon Crystal will be expanded meaning that he might get some kind of supportive character role in the HGSS arc just like Cynthia probably would. YOU JUST GAVE ME A NEW CRACK PAIRING. CynthiaxEusine=Trackershipping. *Shot repeatedly*

Getting serious, they both track legendary Pokemon (Eusine tracks Suicune, and Cynthia tracks down the Legendaries and TG in the games), so maybe they would. You'd think Eusine would know more about Johto's legendaries then Cynthia would.

That could somehow tie into the heart and soul concept that is associated with Gold and Silver respetively. It is known that the soul pertains to a person emotional and moral nature though heart deals with the soruce of emotional life as well as an individual vital character. So Silver attemps to sarcrifice himself that meaning could be incoporated and Gold tries to convinces him not to.

...Really? Idk...I don't think Crys' Arcanine is THAT old...

I wonder what is an average Arcanine life spand or are they immortal. Anyway Crystal Arcanine could have still have some connection to the theorized Arcanine bones whether he live during the period before Ruins of Alpha came ruins such as the Arcanine could have belong tribe of Arcanine in which he descendant from.

I wonder if the there will be ruins in Johto in the HGSS games located somewhere in Johto were the Regis are seen since they have almost all of the legendaries being in Johto. I heard the news about Moltres, Articuno, and Zapdos being in HGSS as well. This make me think that their is a possibility legendary Pokemon reunion is going to take place in the HGSS arc though it most likely would be taking in the arc somewhere. Though how could Jirachi be in it if it has gone to sleep for a thousand years unless this reunion is going to take place 1000, 2000 years, etc. in the past.

That is a good idea Lance could be the one that reads the Notched-Ear Pichu thoughts and I agree that they should bring Lance back because he like some other character have not be seen since the GSC arc.

I like the idea of that shipping. Though I just thought what if Cynthia and Eusine actual met each other a long time ago in some sort of Pokemon school academic though it is unknown by us readers. Though it could be mention and hinted in the games as well though.

No suprise that the new arc is coming. ;) Now it's just a question of what will be in it and when will it come out.

The Pokemon sprites look different. A little off if you ask me. :/ But everything else looks excellent.

Really? The Pokemon ones do? I was more impacted by the Leader/Trainer/Elite sprites. SPEAKING of which...

GIOVANNI IS BACK. And not just him. There's now a Gold & Silver vs. Clair & Lance double battle, Wake from Sinnoh is here, and Steven Stone from Hoenn is also present. I can't wait to see all this in Pokespe, it'll be SO. EPIC. 8DD

But there are two things that worry me. The first is that the BF from Sinnoh is completely unchanged, including the Brains. Building wise, this probably wouldn't have been that important, but if the Brains are still the same, how's Pokespe going to deal with it? Maybe I could understand Palmer, but still...He has a family back in Sinnoh. How's the manga going to be able to explain the Brains being in two places at once?

The second thing is what I view to be slightly more important: Pryce. He's still the Mahogany Gym Leader, albeit with a slightly revamped look. But in Pokespe, he's gone, dead, nada, zip. Or at least he vanished into the voids of time. They can't just ignore it, because he IS a gym leader, but how can they bring him back? Or rather, would they bring him back? Because the game is now doing what happened in the manga. TIME TRAVELLING. With Serebii, and with both the main character and the supporting character delving into the rival's past. Now THERE'S a plot in the making.

System!

My, clover, you're quite enthusiastic over the HGSS manga ;)

Quite a lot of outsiders visiting the older regions, I must say. Whether this will be addressed in Special or not is up to Kusaka.

Giovanni's back? Hm, interesting. Even if he didn't reappear in HGSS, he still needs to reappear in Special. I forgot, is he dead or something?

About Pryce, there's a chance that they might pull him out of the time vortex thingie. Time travel seems to be frequently addressed now, with Celebi and Dialga leading the way (speaking of, how long is it until we actually see Palkia and Dialga in DPP?).

I'm not exactly the best when it comes to theories, so I'm planning to sit back and watch read the show manga.

I am hoping, however, that the older Pokedex holders finally get a break after the HGSS manga. If they're in their late thirties and they still have to save the world-*headdesk* I like them, but they have to be laid off sometime.

Heh, you mean Celebi. ;)

As for the Battle Frontier and Pryce, I'm sure there's a way the writers will work around that.

My, clover, you're quite enthusiastic over the HGSS manga
What gave it away? The fangirling or the screaming or the hyper speculating? XD

As for my theories...Lol, I'm just going to copy and paste them from what I've already said (yeah, lazy, I know):

At the end of GSC, they do get sent back more than three years, because it was when Pryce was young and when Glacier had just been born. Unless you're trying to say that Pryce aged very quickly because of mental shock, but the Daycare Couple, Oak, Agatha, and Kurt all prove that more than that much time has passed. To heck with it, Green probably wasn't born back when Pryce lost his Lapras.

Sunny's theory sounds good. Maybe some other villain (*side glances at Sird*) finds out what happened in the time vortex and tries to alter what happened three years ago. I think that, if they do succeed to a certain point, it could be a liable excuse in bringing Pryce back. If Pryce is still the Mahogany Leader, Pokespe can't just ignore that gap. So, if Pryce was saved by some...outer force (*again looks at Sird and the warped space behind her in Emerald*), he could still be alive, but the Dex Holders don't know it. The main problem with this is that his heart melted, so I don't think he'd be a villain any more...

Besides, Gold should hurry up and explain what happened in the vortex afterward. 8D Serebii has to have something to do with it, and seeing as time and space go hand in hand--ARGH, no, I brought the concept back when I locked it away! >.< *Clutches at head*

AND I JUST SAW SOMETHING UTTERLY SHOCKING. Or at least mildly surprising. Apparently, the NE Pichu does serve a purpose in this game; it seems you can find out it's backstory if you take it to Professor Elm. That backstory being that...

THE NE PICHU WAS EFFECTED BY TIME TRAVEL.

...

O.o What? WHAT!?

Okay, let me get this straight. The NE Pichu time travelled with Celebi, which is how it came to be in Ilex forest. This is also why it won't evolve and why you can't trade it to other games. And who came up with this explanation? Why, Professor Oak, of course!

OMGAAAAAH. That must mean that Oak begins to research time travel extensively in HG/SS, right? And that would mean the NE Pichu appears, right? And then, and then...MAYBE WE COULD FIND OUT WHAT HAPPENED TO GOLD IN THE TIMESTREAM. Oh Mew, with this and Silver's time travel backstory, I'm sensing some very epic moments in the coming arc. Not that we didn't know that already. XD

So there's what I think on Pryce as well as the NE Pichu. Yeah, time travel really is starting to become a major point in the games, isn't it? But it just means more epic plots in the manga, so I don't mind~ <3

I believe he's ill. His time with TR is almost over.
You know, that cave where he's supposedly in exile in the games...Isn't that a lot like what Silver's hideout could be where he took him in the manga? But either way, I don't want him to die. D8 We still haven't seen a father/son confrontation! It would be so touching.

Yeah, their angle looks different. :/
Eh, I don't see any difference. Oh well.

But yes, Palkia, Dialga and Giratina have opened the door for the return of Celebi and even Pryce. And time traveling is effing awesome, and stuff.

About Sird (or Storc, whichever) -- I kind of think she's going to be Jupiter. Albeit I saw Jupiter as a comic-relief type of villain, while Sird is just flat-out epically vicious. But, whatever, I'm not looking as forward to the end of DPP arc (because I pretty much miss the gang) as I am to the begining of the HGSS.

If you ask me, Crys' part will be down played a little but she definitely won't be "replaced". Her role in Emerald was decent even though she was hardly a Gen III character, so there's no question it'll be stronger than that.

I do think that Kotone will be introduced though, possibly with the name Heart or Soul, as she has no colour to name her after, that would be a first wouldn't it?

What does worry me is if they decide to make her Crys, as in make Crys change her costume to match Kotone's, or if they don't put Kotone in at all...
Surely it wouldn't go so against their usual naming habits that they can't even make a new character?

Kotone will undeniably be the main female protagonist in some form. Either Crys' role will be smaller than it would be, or Crys will "become" Kotone, which I absolutely do not want to happen. They are two different characters, and changing Crys' design would make her a different person to me.

It's not that I don't want her to be the main character, because she's one of my faves, she just won't be in any form I'll be happy with.
I'd rather they have her as a slightly more minor character than have her change forever.

You're confusing Kris in the game with Crystal in the manga. She's still there, recently in Emerald. With a HGSS arc she will be there again, and Kotone will be a new character. They wouldn't just suddenly remove Crys. That's bad writing.

I wonder how will TR be handled.

Giovanni's TR is defunct. After finding Silver, Gio has no point in being a villain anymore. He indeed should appear but not as TR Leader again.
Pryce's TR is long defunct, Pryce is lost in time and reformed. I'm positive that Pryce's unfinished plot WILL NOT be ignored and that Pryce WILL reappear. But not as Masked Man anymore.

Chermaine and Keane, who are now called Athena and Apollo in HGSS (I wonder how will this be handled, maybe aliases?), should reappear.

TR-Lance and Lambda both have to appear.

I think it would make no sense to have TR led by Giovanni, yet it wouldn't make sense to have TR as it was in the games (we already had that during Neo TR times in Johto). So, they have to remake the TR plot completely.

As for leadership, there is one solid candidate. Sird.

As for the Rocket Executives, I think Apollo and Athena will be introduced as new characters since I can't see Keane and Chermaine returing even though they are the same characters in the game. They could be aliases of Keane and Chermaine; it's likely. But I don't want them to. *shot*

I agree with you about everything else. Sird being the leader is pretty obvious, Pryce's plot will be finished, and both Lance along with Lambda have to appear. (Especially, these two. They are my favorite Rocket Executives. D:<)

Then going by that logic, Gold will be replaced by Hibiki since he is also playing as Hibiki in SS.

The HGSS male's name is Hibiki, not Gold. Kusaka has a tendancy to roleplay as the main character's Special counterparts, if Kotone was going to be introduced as a new character, then he would of named her "Special counterpart" Heart/Soul not Chris. If Kotone is introduced in Special, her name certainly won't be Kotone. A dex holder shares names with the games, is there such thing as Pokemon Kotone version?

You all prove excellent points; I believe that the characters will remain the same, unless they pull off "the missing twin plot" and ruin PokéSpe's awesomeness. I think everyone will remain the same. Personally, I think Gold will wear Hibiki's clothes, Crys will wear Kotone's, and Silver will wear..Silver's clothes. xD By the way, Silver and Gold aren't wearing new clothes either in the silhouettes (and they still have their old pokedexes). Plus, it's not really fair to say the silhouettes confirm the fact they are the same since (HGSS-related) new characters shouldn't be introduced nor should they receive new clothes until the HGSS arc. And if we're going by the silhouettes, Kotone isn't a new character since she doesn't show up in the picutre.

You're correct, except did you meant to say Blue instead of Kotone? :P (Kotone=Leaf, wut? *shot*)

The prototype girl in RBG was planned to be in the originals, but for some reason she wasn't and didn't make an official appearance until FRLG where she was dubbed Leaf. (If appeared in the originals or HGSS, I bet her name would of been Blue, but she wasn't in the real thing, so she had to be Leaf instead.)

Then again, her real name could be Blue, since Leaf was just a name in the internal data and GF were just planning on naming her such, but didn't actually do so.

Look, when I posted that I was trying to say that, to me, it seemed that Ni****a sensei prefers the characters from Pokespecial (which, logically speaking, could even be counted as his characters, at least in terms of personality and character development/background) compared to those that are used in the actual games themselves. And, to me, this could also prove a point that he intends to use the manga characters over the game characters (i.e., not replace any characters or introduce new ones). I could always be wrong, and there could be a change in storyline or something, but that's what my point was.

Then going by that logic, Gold will be replaced by Hibiki since he is also playing as Hibiki in SS.

Thanks for pointing that out, as well as describing what I was trying to say. Also, going by this, it would mean that Red should have been replaced by the FR/LG male character (their facial features are nothing alike, remember?), along with all the other characters who don't look like the in game counterparts. But they didn't, which is why I don't think Crys would be replaced now.

No, I think manhattan means that Blue is like Kotone in the sense that both weren't in the original games (or were planned/included, just not in the same form as Pokespe), but both ended up being in the remakes for their version, and Blue wasn't abandoned for Leaf, just given an updated look.

Hmm, that depends whether or not Kotone is a heavily redesigned version of "Kris" (game), who didn't have a name in the first place. It wouldn't really make sense to plan to include Kotone in the original GS and then introduce a different female in Crystal and later replacing her in the remakes since the boy is in GS, appeared again in Crystal, and was redesigned in HGSS. It could sorta compare to Blue if her game counterpart is Kotone, GS was originally going to have a female choice and who I think was "Kris" (with brown hair which would explain why Crystal had chestnut brown hair in her debut) similar how Leaf was planned for RGBY except the Gen II girl debuted in a third version rather than a remake and was heavily redesigned similar to Leaf/Blue in FRLG. Though you could say that both Hibiki and Kotone are new characters based off of the original protagonists from GSC. Nevermind. This is way too confusing and we're talking about the Special characters, not the game characters. No need to bring my fanwanking here.*stabbed*

In my belief, Leaf is to Blue what Kotone is to Kris. For example:

Leaf is a different name than Blue (which is the canon-game name, I believe?), but the PokéSpé character was only revamped: no adding characters.

In that sense, Kotone won't be a new character. Unless, of course, they decide to pull off "missing twin" (oh, I'd laugh so hard). x)

But yes, I can see that if they remake Crystal, Kotone will still be there.
(Ugh.)

It looks to me this was made before the HGSS announcement, so they might not be wearing their updated outfits. So it's given that Crystal's in the picture between Gold and Silver.

The sad thing is, people actually think that is a great and original way to introduce her in the manga. >>

I think they'd come up with a better way to introduce who she is, not just some long-lost twin. It looks incredibly cheesy on the writers' part. Their reputation in this manga is too good for something like that to spoil it.

The prototype girl in RBG was planned to be in the originals, but for some reason she wasn't and didn't make an official appearance until FRLG where she was dubbed Leaf. There was not enough space in the original games to keep the "girl" there, although she was supposed to be in it. But Blue (Green for U.S.) would not be in HGSS or its original games because there are new characters for those games. Blue was intentionally for Generation I Kanto.

LeafGreen is to FireRed. They wouldn't want to confuse "Green" with the Japanese Green, the rival, so they put her name as Leaf instead to avoid confusion. But yes, her actual name isBlue.

Not to mention stuffing Crys in new clothes is much easier than introducing a new character (and a new dex holder) that looks a lot like her.

My problem with this that it wouldn't "fit" Crystal's character, if you get what I mean. They look really "noobish" on her. :/ Gold's and Silver's is okay. Even Crystal would balk at her new outfit, because it's not like her.

Hmm, that depends whether or not Kotone is a heavily redesigned version of "Kris" (game), who didn't have a name in the first place. lol I wish you made this a bigger size with no strickethrough. This matter has already been discussed months ago after the big reveal, and recently was found out that Kotone is entirely a new character with no relation to "Kris" from Pokemon Crystal. Kris was just a new idea back then to have a playable female character. That's all she was, nothing else. So she's preserved in her own element in her own game. HG/SS fuses Pokemon Gold, Silver, and Crystal to form a new type of game that is both a remake of the original games and holds Generation IV components (specifically the Platinum standard) with new stuff here and there. So Kotone is a brand new character to complement the player Gold and the rival Silver. Her default name is Soul, just like to avoid confusion with Silver (as I explained before with Green).

No, I think manhattan means that Blue is like Kotone in the sense that both weren't in the original games (or were planned/included, just not in the same form as Pokespe), but both ended up being in the remakes for their version, and Blue wasn't abandoned for Leaf, just given an updated look.

But I'm probably wrong. >.> *Facepalm*

Lol'd very, very hard. Although I can see her completely not caring with whatever she's wearing. She just seems the type that chants off "it's the inside that counts".
So I guess they can just slap the clothings (albeit in a cooler style, because, come on, it's still shonen and SuperMario!girl isn't that awesome) into Crystal and move on.

LeafGreen is to FireRed. They wouldn't want to confuse "Green" with the Japanese Green, the rival, so they put her name as Leaf instead to avoid confusion. But yes, her actual name isBlue.
Actually, it's unknown. Leaf is just a dummied name for the female trainer, Blue doesn't show up in the data.

My problem with this that it wouldn't "fit" Crystal's character, if you get what I mean. They look really "noobish" on her. :/ Gold's and Silver's is okay. Even Crystal would balk at her new outfit, because it's not like her.
Who cares if she hates it? *shot* Her mother will probably force her into it and Gold will mock, then she'll get over it. The clothes are pretty fashionable going by Japan standards, so she might like it. I prefer her clothes over the old ones too.

Blue's FRLG clothes didn't suit her personality, but she still liked them.

lol I wish you made this a bigger size with no strickethrough.
First off, her default name isn't Soul. Her default name is randomnize along with Hibiki, but their official names are Hibiki and Kotone. Second, Silver's default name is either Heart or Soul depending on your version. Third, the male's name is Hibiki, not Gold. Fourth, the matter is neither denied or confirmed in the games. It doesn't out right say "THEY ARE DIFFERENT CHARACTERS!!ONEONE!!". Fourth, in the japanese version, "Kris" didn't have a name and neither did "Gold", which might apply for the english version as well. "Gold"'s name isn't Gold, it's Hibiki, but I don't see anyone screaming he's a new character. For all we know, he could get a new anime counterpart since I doubt we'll see Kenta again since he is an expert and Kazunari shares the same VA as him, which is odd that they would prefer introducing a COTD rather than Kenta himself. Not to mention, no one has been replaced in the games, let alone a playable character. But a lot of people have been vastly redesigned or got an entirely new set of clothes in the games. (Morty, The Rocket Executives, SABRINA.) Even if she is a new character, it's not really fair to say "she has no relation to Kris" because it's pretty obvious that she was at least based off of her.

Basically, the "matter" isn't confirmed or denied and probably will never be since it appears Special and the anime are going seperate ways. *shot*

.....That was pointless. xD

I don't get why people would even want them to stick Crys in Kotone's clothes. For one, they don't suit her, and I don't think they can turn Crys into Kotone without (imo) changing her forever, which I don't want, and I don't see why anyone would want that unless they disliked the current Crys.

Green was lucky in that Leaf looks a lot like her, near identical hair style and overall look, minus the clothes. Kotone is different. People may say Kotone is a redesigned Kris, but if May had never been seen before and was to appear in a GSC remake instead of Kris, people would say the same things, "She looks exactly like Kris except with brown hair and a slightly different hair style!" Heck, while we're at it let's just say that all the male characters are the same character with different coloured hair and a slightly different hairstyle too!

So is Dawn the same character as Leaf now, just because they have similar hairstyles but differently coloured?

The point I'm trying to make is, Kris is Kris and Kotone is Kotone. Crys will not be replaced, but Kotone will be introduced as a new character named Soul or Heart, because they coincide with the new version titles. Either that, or Crys will change her costume to match Kotone's, not to mention likely her personality, with which I will never be able to see her in the same way again, because as far as I'm concerned she will have become a different person.

Since we're talking about this canon, Special had Crystal with BROWN hair. May looks nothing like Kris IMO. And you can't even see the male characters' hairstyles because their hats covers it.

So is Dawn the same character as Leaf now, just because they have similar hairstyles but differently coloured?

Red and Fire are different characters, they have different hair colors and slightly different hair styles. The Rocket Executives are new characters as well! "Morty" and "Sabrina" aren't really the ones we know, they are imposters!oneoneon!!!

So changing your clothes changes your personality? Wut?

I don't get what's the big deal if she changes her clothes. I put on new clothes everyday. END OF THE WORLD!!! I dress "goofy" sometimes DOES THAT CHANGE MY PERSONALITY? *GASP* It could be from her mother, who would probably like those kind of clothes. She doesn't have to like them, they are considered fashionable in Japan, so she could. If we're judging by clothing, then Platina would of been a fashion-obsessed girly girl, but she's not.

Yeah, people irl change their outfits all the time, but what about in fiction? Almost never, it helps us identify the character. It speaks to us about what they're like.

Kris appeared to be smart and mature, and Crys was made to reflect that, being the more serious of the GSC bunch, but Kotone is made to seem young and cute.

I can't see them being the same person. It just really wouldn't feel right. The anime has them as seperate characters and although I hate to admit it, the anime is closer to game canon than the manga is.

Red and Fire's colour schemes and clothing is more or less near identical anyway, as well as their hair styles (which were never really notable). Why would they make such minor changes to Red and Gold and not Kris? Because Kotone is a seperate character.

Actually, it's unknown. Leaf is just a dummied name for the female trainer, Blue doesn't show up in the data.

It looks like what I said is more plausible than being unknown. I believe that's what happened. Blue wasn't shown in the data for the original games because she wasn't there. There was no room for her to be in there.

Blue's FRLG clothes didn't suit her personality, but she still liked them.

No, Blue's new look is more mature on her than what she had on before. She looks...vibrant in them. Crystal would look more younger and would seem like she'd lose her "intelligence" trait.

First off, her default name isn't Soul. Her default name is randomnize along with Hibiki, but their official names are Hibiki and Kotone.

Please don't confuse or mix the game with the anime. Her name is Soul in the game, in the anime it's Kotone.

Second, Silver's default name is either Heart or Soul depending on your version. Third, the male's name is Hibiki, not Gold. Fourth, the matter is neither denied or confirmed in the games.

Kotone is the name for the Japanese version

Gold was shown as Jimmy in the anime. I highly doubt there'll be a new character based on the same design. He's only Hibiki if you don't choose him in the game.

Red and Fire are different characters, they have different hair colors and slightly different hair styles. The Rocket Executives are new characters as well! "Morty" and "Sabrina" aren't really the ones we know, they are imposters!oneoneon!!!

Why is this a big deal? They got a different design by color, but does that mean their personalities change? You're mixing the game or anime to be same as the manga. These three have their own variations of the character. So it's okay if the manga or anime alters their design by a bit.

Then why did Kusaka name her Crys rather than Soul/Heart?

Is this a confirmation? Is it final? Isn't the volume still in progress?

So changing your clothes changes your personality? Wut?

Ironically I ask you this question.

Also, are we forgetting about Crys' Mom and Emerald? She could force her in those clothes even she hates it and will probably get over it. And Emerald could give it to her as a present, she wouldn't care how "goofy" they were, she would still like them because they were from Emerald.

Not to mention, they are consider "fashionable" in Japan, Special is a japanese comic, so she might like them and consider them pretty.

No one's forgotten about CM or Emerald. It's a full possibility that they might be involved, but we dont' know that yet. And the main problem is that this new outfit doesn't match up with Crys' personality, as stated before. And to this I say: has everyone forgotten the sheer genius that the Pokespe mangakas have pulled off before? Revamping/touching up outfits isn't illegal, and Pokespe does a fantastic job at it. I don't see why the manga can't slightly change her outfit to make it slightly more suitable for her.

But you're right about it being fashionable in Japan-although since fashion changes practically day to day, who knows?

His name isn't Gold period. It's not even one of his default names anymore, nor is Silver. His version default names are Gold and Silver. Why would he have a different name if his NPC appearance confirmed it being Hibiki?
In the FR/LG games, the hero and heroine were both given different names, and they were in pretty much the same situation as the characters are now (that is, both genders are playable, although G/S/C didn't have NPCs), so I don't really see what the problem is here. Besides, these are remakes of GOLD and SILVER, not Crystal, so if anything Gold and Silver are practically guaranteed a spot in the coming arc compared to Crystal.
I'm not talking about the anime and mangas, I'm referring to the games. Have you *seen* Sabrina's new design? It's more than a simple color changedrastic as well as the Rocket Executives as well as Red's FRLG design as well as Morty and so forth.
I've seen her look, and...I don't think it's impossible to give her an updated look, if she even appears in the remake arc to begin with. The biggest change is that she cut her hair, and seeing as people do that all the time...I really don't see what the issue is here, either. People's appearances change as time passes. So? And like I said, the Gym Leaders were hardly given any focus in FR/LG, so I'll be kinda surprised if they even reappear in HG/SS. Happy, but surprised.

The only real confirmation we've gotten from the Netkun site is that the HG/SS arc IS coming. What's been stated on Crys and Gold's characters is purely based on Kusaka's opinion; nothing's been confirmed on this topic in the actual manga. Although since Kusaka's opinion is most likely what creates the story of the manga, I guess this is also debatable. Still, since the chapters for this arc haven't even been released yet...

Wouldn't that be based on your opinion, though? Not that I'm disagreeing-I do think it makes sense to give them new clothes/update their present ones. Just because I don't think it makes much sense to wear the same outfit 365 days a year. Plus it helps show the passing of time in the manga.

I wasn't talking about Special here, I was talking about the games and I was trying to explain the names....Red retained the same name in those games, so did Green. Leaf didn't even have a name back then because she didn't officially appear.

I've seen her look, and...I don't think it's impossible to give her an updated look, if she even appears in the remake arc to begin with. I wasn't talking about Special here. I was talking about the games trying to explain that in the games Kotone could be Kris as well since no one has been replaced but plently of people have recieved massive redesigns. Kris didn't have a japanese name FYI. No one comment on this please, I'm dropping this.

Okay, this is Special related. True, the chapters haven't been released yet, but it's still very likely for Kusaka to put her in new clothes. I can't see him that thinking their game counterparts are the same but give her two seperate Special counterparts. (Someone don't correct me and say that their game counterparts aren't the same, its what KUSAKA thinks.)

If he changed his mind RIGHT in the middle of doing the HGSS would be pretty messy, Yamamoto probably would have to redo scenes if that were the case. Why would he do that and make Yamamoto go through all of that trouble?

Since there isn't much to discuss on this and it's unconfirmed, I say we should drop the topic for now and wait to see how she's handled.

There are some other topics we can talk about, such as Pyrce.

There are some other topics we can talk about, such as Pyrce.
I thought we'd already discussed this. Nyah, I'll answer it anyway.
Pryce, as has already been stated, is a plot hole just waiting to be filled. Pokespe, it seems, has a trend for tricking the reader into believing a villain has disappeared from the story forever before bringing them back.
Let's take Archie, for one big example. He and Maxie were supposed to have been trapped in a another dimension by Ruby at the end of the R/S arc, yet Archie came back in Emerald under a different name and identity. Not to mention Maxie hasn't even been shown as dead, we're just assuming that on what the storyline, Sapphire, and Archie himself are telling us (although I would love to see what kind of plot could possibly bring him back from the dead). Other than that, we have Giovanni and Sird. Neither is dead, but both were villains in previous arcs and have been used in later arcs (RGB and FR/LG, FR/LG and Emerald respectively). Based on this, I'm going to bet my...well, I'll bet my week's worth of homemade cyber cookies that Pryce is coming back. If not in HG/SS, then definitely in some other arc.

And Pryce is most certainly not the only topic to be discussed. We've already brought up Chermain and Keane (HA, I remembered his name this time!) and their remake counterparts, but what about Lambda and Lance? (I'm talking about the TR executives, not the one and the League Champion, mind. Cheese, that's going to be confusing until his English name is released in the translation, I just know it.)
Correct me if I'm wrong or I read this incorrectly when I battled him the first time, but didn't Lance say..."I am the Rocket considered the most cold and cruel in all of Team Rocket."? -laughs- I'm sorry, I'd forgotten that there was someone other than Sird who likes to manipulate others and see both humans and Pokemon suffer. Mew forbid should that happen. Seriously, what? Sird indirectly brought about the (supposed) death of Maxie, and she knew that one of them would have to die. Compared to that...I mean, if Lance is actually going to be in Pokespe...I don't know how he'd get along with Sird, honestly. Especially since he's supposed to be the weakest of the four executives. And if he would be her subordinate...
Dunno about Lambda, I'm not that far in the game yet and I don't intend on spoiling myself. Looks a lot like Pluto, though.
...And what is it with the Grunt hair, why is it pink? Wonder if they'll keep it that way in Pokespe.

Also, one more point I noticed on Serebi was the Ultimate Moves. Apparently there's a new Move Tutor in Blackthorn who can teach them to you, but does that mean he'll show up in Pokespe? Or could Brinca just have something to do in Blackthorn as a plot point?

Not saying Crystal would look dumb but more of a new trainer.

And Emerald could give it to her as a present, she wouldn't care how "goofy" they were, she would still like them because they were from Emerald.

Even if it's a gift from Emerald, she wouldn't wear it all the time (I doubt she'll wear it even once).

Have you *seen* Sabrina's new design? It's more than a simple color changedrastic as well as the Rocket Executives as well as Red's FRLG design as well as Morty and so forth.

Right, so what seems to be the problem?

*is confused* No, why should it? I don't think you're giving a proper response to what I'm saying.

Also, I hope you know that the developers at Game Freak had nothing much to do with Kris in Crystal.

The only real confirmation we've gotten from the Netkun site is that the HG/SS arc IS coming. I'm honestly hate your debating about Blue. if shes in the manga, she's in it. k? :/

The Anime was okayish, too many fillers compared to the game. The Game is straight-forward and doesn't need the damn "Silver Cup" or Whatever they called it in Johto.
Kotone just looks fail. No offense but I liked Crys alot better and Kotone should just be a supportive character or much worse is a clone D:
I would rather just see that Special will not make a terrible story. Each and every volume is terrific in every way and doesn't need to be criticized about its character whether they showed up in the game/anime.

What I want to see is Giovanni reshowing in this manga to help and not become the "dictator of the world." He deserves a better role than this and deserves his son back with him.
Ironically, 10 PokeDex Owners were at the battle frontier. So, they just left and went back home after that, hm? Sounds a bit cheesy to just participate, hang out, then take a boat back home and done.

Places have been edited, there's seems to be a kind of sidequest for the Pokethlon, the overall TR plot's also been changed...And let's not forget the Wi-Fi bonus events. Holy cheesecake. Sabrina's costume change is a decent argument, but Game Freak have made it obvious that they're one and the same person. If they wanted Kotone and Kris to be the same person, don't you think they would have made it more obvious? This is Game Freak we're talking about, their games are designed to be understood and followed by all ages! If they don't make it obvious that this new girl is in fact Kris, then she probably isn't. I mean seriously, if they were meant to be the same character then why make her hair brown? All other redesigns have kept to more or less their original colour schemes, especially with hair.

As for the manga, who knows. By now I've had a while to think about it and I'm fairly certain that some fans are going to be greatly disappointed no matter what happens. The only way I can think every fan would be happy is if they have Crys and Kotone as seperate characters but have them both with central parts in the story. I don't see it happening though, this manga belongs to the writers, not the fans.

Right now I think the most likely thing is for Crys to get Kotone's clothes and change her personality to match.... I don't see a trainer with those cute clothes and huge hat being a pro catcher or a serious trainer of any kind.

Well in all probability they'll do something along the lines of what they did with FR/LG and make it up as they go along, no necessarily linking it heavily to any games in the series. They could be involved in the Pokélthon and use the Pokéwalker for various things, as well as more about the Rocket Admins and possibly Giovanni.

I'm sure they'd think of lots of things.
