After you beat Whitney, she could say how she's still a new Leader, and that she got her Miltank from the old Leader that moved to Hoenn. This would also sort out the question of where Hoenn falls in the timeline.

But I don't think Jasmine will mention her trip, as the Red Gyarados has already appeared at the start of DPPt, so Gold has already beaten her.

If that were to happen, then the Supporting character better be tough, because there is a habit that supporting character's Pokémon are sometimes weak. So, to go up against two strong trainers like that in a double battle, it'll have to come good.

Hate to rear off-topic, but I heard that the reason why Red's team is made the way is is in G/S/C is b/c its based off the manga

Red was a reference to the Pokemon Specials manga Red.

Red's team in that is:-

To me, it doesn't matter who shows up as a cameo, as long as they have a purpose in showing up. For example, in DPPt, Prof. Oak appeared so he can upgrade our Dex and give us a few items. As well as how Jasmine showed up to give us the HM Waterfall.

Manga cameos should be as follows depending on where HGSS is in the timeline
If its the same as GSC then,
Ruby should be fought in goldenrod (he'll be in one of the houses that had no doors in GSC)
Sapphire would be there too but you won't fight her
Blue and Red would stay in there old positions but you should be able to have rematches with Blue whenever you want. (note: I am using the US names)
Green would be fought at the Power Plant, Seafoam Islands, and Indigo Plateau (or Mt. Ember if the Sevii Islands are included) After you beat her in one place she goes to the next place sort of like the tv reporters in RSE (forgot there names)
If they expand the plot a bit further Yellow can pair up with you in Viridian Forest.
Crystal is in Earls Pokemon Academy in Violet

Now if the timeline is after DPPt,
Red, Blue, Green, will stay the same
You battle Sapphire this time
You compete against Ruby in a contest
You compete against Yellow in the Bug catching Contest
Emerald tags with you in the Battle Tower

What you said about Volkner has a strong point to it, and would be great for him to give you the egg of Elekid, that was a nice idea you mentioned if he were to have a cameo.

Also, you do have a point that anyone can make a cameo, but for me it is more than likely Prof. Rowan to have it, because of his significance with the Johto and Sinnoh games being compatable this time.

This will probably never happen, but just expressing my thoughts, it would be so funny if Barry were to show up and challenge you in a battle, trying to show off his toughness that he tried to prove back in the Sinnoh to Lucas/Dawn. Then, he starts blaring about some Battle Tower of the sort that was recently put up in the Kanto or a nearby island. Highly unlikely, but just a simply thought.

I dunno...personally, I don't like the idea of a R/S/E remake. It just seems too soon, even to be talking about it. The 3rd Gen seems to current to have a remake JUST yet. Maybe it'll hit the 15 year mark, rather than 10 years, before a remake comes. But really, what more can be done to it? Increase the difficulty so that most people don't beat it in under a week and make it full 3-D instead of 2-D sprites? Maybe revamp the music somewhat? That's just me though.

As for the cameos in general...it depends on how they do it. They can't mess with it too much or the old fans of G/S/C would throw a fit.

Somewhere (cannot remember the source), it said that he supposedly just left Sinnoh. Say he ran into Jasmine beforehand (both Steel trainers; they understand each other or something), well--it's a few in a thousand chance, but speculation doesn't hurt. And, seriously, stone collecting is all that fuels that enigmatic man to travel around--wouldn't be too surprising for them to pull something like this. Nobody saw Jasmine coming.

If you think about it...

Volkner could be with Jasmine in the Lighthouse, as a 'Love' sort of thing.

I also think that Rowan should be there at the start, just visiting elm before he goes back to Sinnoh.

I wouldn't say all he might do is talk, because seeing as the PokéRadar was in DPPt, it wouldn't surprise me if he showed up to give you just that. It wouldn't be bad to have either. It'll give those who never got DPPt a chance to chain and get shinies of their own, or simply to help with EV training as well for competitive gaming.

Steven is also a good point, since we "may" have underground on this remakes, so, as a stone and fossil collector he would induce you to visit the underground or even giving you the starter kit.
Note that this is just my speculation.

Also, Volkner does have reasons to go to Johto, although Flint and the other gym leaders doesn't, he is "linked" to Jasmine either you want or not.


About Rowan, as a good friend of Oak, he could perfectly be on Kanto at some point, and giving you an extra device/feature (This game is said to have new features never seen before, so).

Anyway, now that it is mentioned, having Steven introduce the Underground wouldn't be such a terrible idea either, it'll make a lot of sense if it were made that way. Especially seeing how he enjoys his rock collections and stones and such.

I think that Mask of Ice should definately make an appearance- maybe because I enjoyed beating Pryce and would like to do it twice. (Rhymes- lol- how sad!!). Yes, I would think the Johto time in the game happens like a few weeks before Sinnoh in DPPt takes place. The reason why I say this is because the reference of Elm and the egg back in Hearthome City. It was said an egg was discovered there before, so I would say Sinnoh was a little bit behind. If this is so, then it'll definitely make it a possibility of Rowan making a cameo in the game.

Birch, I'd see him coming only for a possible reference to the Hoenn remakes, but it was stated recently that GameFreak isn't looking at making nay new remakes at the moment. Plus, I don't think GameFreak really cares of the personality for who would to show up, that'll just be the fan base who cares more on those things. GameFreak is more intended to show someone that'll have a purpose to be there and more than likely reference to something else that could have a possible matter later on [/sometimes not though]. Having a simple appearance from someone though will be a plus afterwards as it'll be new and maybe add in some new twists for the players.

For the starters, it shouldn't be considered hard to get as yet, because we can still have accessible trade with the DS and DSi. So, those who have a previous Hoenn or Kanto starter in RBE or FRLG, can migrate it from the DS into DPPt, and then afterwards be traded to HeartGold and SoulSilver. I don't think this will matter much though as the Hoenn starters aren't as popular or as uncommon sometimes compared to Kanto starters. Which for one Kanto is right next to Johto, so it'll seem more probably to gain one of those starters over one given by Birch.

You make a good point about Jasmine. Except, I don't see any need for her to get much attention to just because of her visit to Sinnoh. Actually, come to think of it, if Gold and Silver's timeline were a few weeks before that of Sinnoh's then Jasmine would have never visited Sinnoh at that time. So, she wouldn't be mentioned as visting Sinnoh and neither would she be given a bigger role. For contest, I see the supporting female intrducing that to us for some reason. If not her, then maybe another surprise cameo, like said before Fantina. This would make sense as Fantine as gone off to contests and exploring around before coming back to the Sinnoh Hearthome Gym as well. It was stated that Kanto and Hoenn run in the same timeline for the games. It is also said that Sinnoh and Johto run in the same timeline as well, except some speculate that the Johto games happen a few weeks before the events of Sinnoh. So, with this information, I don't think Norman will be seen, because Johto happens 3 years AFTER Kanto and Hoenn. This would mean that Norman is already in the Hoenn Region as the Gym Leader in Petalburg City. Though, because of this, we may still recieve a few people talk about him, like someone mentioned a dialogue before.

About the White Rock, I wouldn't doubt some cameraman would show up, if it is an important event in the game that is. To see it is the same guy from what we had in DPPt would be pretty cool. Though, I don't think the White Rock has anything to do with Glaceon, as it was mentioned with Shaymin I believe. That we'll just have to wait and find out later.

Even though some have not known about it, there were small references about Johto back in FireRed and LeafGreen. They referred back to another [possibly the same] Red Gyarados located back in the same Lake of Rage. They also hinted off some more on Silver having some kind of father-son relationship. The remakes don't necessarily need a person appearing as a remake. The reason I say this is because cameos appear in different ways, whether it be mentioned, an item, a person, etc. So, even though we may not have an actualy person show up [might though], we can still have some kind of normal person saying things about the other regions, other people, and more. I'm sure Hoenn will be mentioned somewhere in the game, it just seems probable to me. Though, just because it may be mentioned doesn't mean it is hinting off towards a remake of RSE either. Like you said, if they plan on remaking the Hoenn, more camoes from that region will appear in the next generation.

Jasmine will only refer to her Journey in Sinnoh if HeartGold and SoulSilver's timeline is after that of Sinnoh's. Crystal could have a possible cameo and I think it would defintiely please all the Kris fans who want her back over the new female protagonist. As for May, I wouldn't expect it, because she's in Johto in the anime. The game doesn't run with the anime that much at all except for with Yellow Version. If they were to change this though and put May in just because, well I'd sure be a happy camper that's for sure. She could be put into for the introduction for Contests in Johto and/or Kanto, but I presume someone else might take that role sadly. Its possible that they would have her have a cameo, but probably not as a cousin of the new girl. She might appear in Kanto, like in the copycat's house (or whatever his name was, the one that looked just like you).

That would be kind of interesting to see. I'd more see them discussin about Team Aqua and Team Magma more than Team Galactic as the events of Johto I believe are a few weeks or so before the events in Sinnoh. Plus, Team Aqua and Magma would have had to be caused three years ago from this point, as Hoenn runs with the same timeline as Kanto did. Though, I don't see much of Team Rockets wording changeing too much as Team Rocket in FRLG was never altered much before. Actually, in Sinnoh it was said that one Team Galactic member leaft to go back to his old country when we had to get the certain key to go in the Galactic Warehouse later in the game. Maybe this country could have been Johto and we may see him before he ever joined Team Galactic, now that makes sense and would be interesting to see.

Seeing as we've gotten new scans. It has been seen that Cynthia might make an appearance along with Arceus. This is speculation on what was seen in the newly released scans of course. If this is true, then there might definitely be a new event and possibly a short or more mid side event involving Cynthia. I think this is pretty exciting, and not to mention the appearance of Groudon, Kyorgre, and Rayquaza not only to make a cameo in the game, but also available to be caught. I think the game will have a lot more than expected, and there just may be a chance that some cameos that were lsited before, may indeed have a slight higher possibility. Though, I'm just speculating on what I see that is released.

I'd still like Prof. Rowan to show up in the game though, as it'll be nice of him to introduce us with some of the newer features that were brought to us in DPPt. For example, the PokéRadar, and other things like that I think were nice and it'll be very beneficial to have again in the remake I would think.

I would like steven to make a cameo in HGSS. He may come to jhoto to find some rare stones or he could even visit jhoto in order to find more about super ancients groudon kyogre rayquaza are doing in jhoto. Steven was my favorate champion so I want to see him back in HGSS. I understand that there is a very weak chance of him making this cameo but I hope it happens.

I would love to see a cameo done by Steven as I think he is the coolest champion. He can come to jhoto to find some rare stones found only there or perhaps to gather more info of what jhoto legendaries are doing(roaming around :D) in jhoto.

Steven would be a logical choice to explain why there were suddenly superancient Hoenn Pokemon in Johto. The fact they are there CLEARLY hints at a Ruby and Sapphire remake sometime in the future. Just think- one day there may even be a Diamond and Pearl remake... how strange!
