The name of the hack: Pokemon Pikachu Edition
Hack of: Pokemon http://members.optusnet.com.au/soanevalcke/famepublication/badge-crystal.png

Story:
There is no specific story so it's same as in pokemon crystal.
Also there are no new scripts but there are still major changes.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

-I highly recommend that you play this on computer with +500% speed since it's very difficult to beat this game without using VBA
-You've to go through Dark Cave in the beginning of the game
-You've to pick up bicycle in Goldenrod bikeshop
-You can never get to Violet PC !!!




Changes:

Pikachu has 3 evolutions !
You can catch all pokemon expect: Mew, Mewtwo, Togepi and Togetic, Cleffa and Igglybuff - If you want them you've to trade
New trainers
New looking areas (names will remain but areas are a lot different)
New tiles
New sprites
20 new TMs !

Pokemon that normally can't learn for example HM Cut or Fly can learn it now (for instance Heracross and Magnemite can learn fly and Meowth and Nidoran can learn Cut, also some fire-type pokemon can learn Flash now).

Nearly all pokemon have their stats and types as in normal crystal (expect Stats changed: Smeargle, Magikarp, Pichu (+ Teddiursa and Phanpy are a little stronger) --> Types changed: Charizard, Aerodactyl and Gyarados (they're now part Dragon instead of Flying)
Every pokemon needs higher level to evolve since you get high level pokemon soon as in my other hacks too. Also pokemon like Machoke, Kadabra, Graveler and Onix are able to evolve now without trading.

Hints:

Slowpoke evolves with Water Stone into Slowbro but Slowking is a lot more powerful than Slowbro and you can get Slowking by leveling up Slowpoke to certain level and it will evolve - Poliwhirl evolves exactly the same way
Pikachu has 3 evolution forms (Pikachu --> Raichu --> X ?)
Power Plant can be found by going through Mt. Moon to another direction than the one which leads to Cerulean City
Brock can be battled in Johto (you can get to him from Blackthorn City)

The beginning of the hack is quite a lot easier (wild pokemons are stronger) and you'll get levels way easier in the beginning.
Also you can catch Houndour in Dark Cave if you don't want to use Geodude against bugsy

Diversity? The first trainer I fought had a Machop, a Bulbasaur, a Slugma, a Dunsparce, and a Hoothoot. How's that for diversity?

It may feel strange but you need to go to Dark Cave

I pretty much played through it all today, using only my Pikachu.

One question though, why does Pikachu evolve into Raichu and THEN Pichu? Did you change Pichu's stats to be stronger than Pikachu or Raichu?

When your pikachu is lv40 or so he usually will turn out weaker and weaker in your party compared to other pokemon you've.
Then I just wanted to make him evolve into Raichu.
And I just thought it would be epic if Raichu could evolve so he can too but if your raichu evolves before you get kanto-region finished you're simply overleveled.

EDIT:
One of my friends in youtube asked where to get bike and I just wanted to make sure to you that you can get it in Goldenrod City and you actually need it in the future (you've to go through bicycle road in kanto)

UPDATE !

I remaked one route in kanto because there is a little sidequest to do and now you have to explore to find it. Also there was a bug that Nidoking and Nidoqueen learned Flash instead of Strenght and I fixed it. (v. 1.01)

3 people here were enough fast to download version 1.01 which I released a few hours ago but now I noticed that there is a major bug with Cerulean City mart:
You can buy glitch items there + other stuff which shouldn't be gotten from mart at all :S
I seriously apologize for having bugs like that in a released hack :(

Version 1.02 is downloadable above and I'm sure that there won't be glitches like that in future.

I meant that if you've Pichu before you've beaten all gym leaders in kanto you've overleveled.
Usually your party should be lv 65-70 when you've done that

Also I beta-tested it through (thrice) now and didn't find any bugs so download patch file 1.02 if you haven't yet since there will be only minor bug fixes (TMs)

I didn't like it too much but it was fun playing it. I couldn't beat Bugsy with his high level bug Pokemon.

Worse is I can't beat Rival either. Even with his Level 24 Pikachu.

Don't you use VBA to play it ?

Water Gun and Thundershock should NOT be missing as often as they do. It's like I'm playing Persona 3 again.

Scyther evolves in this hack just like normal pokemon, I won't tell you the level though :P

Attacks should have lost 8% accuracy but I think they miss more often.
Probably with 80% accuracy or so

I've noticed that Johto starters are obtained through trading, Gastly -> Chikorita (Violet City), Mr Mime -> Cyndaqual (Olivine City) and I'm not sure where Totadile is but you can trade your Ho-Oh for a Celebi on route 14

Search for Lunar IPS in google and open it and maybe you'll figure it out.

Well I made Brock a special gym leader who can be battled in Johto instead of Kanto.
Brock can be found by going inside the northern cave from Blackthrorn City (Union Cave)

Please don't take offense when I say this, but I find that to be very absurd.

Attacks like Flamethrower and Thunderbolt have always been popular over Fire Blast and Thunder because of their greater accuracy. Furthermore the AI as usual gets far more lucky breaks than the player, as I've only seen it miss with attacks far less often than I do, I'd say they miss 1/10th of the time compared to myself. Double Team and Sand Attack's usefulness isn't any better seeing how those don't make much of an effect until three or more uses, and personally I'd rather have reliable attacks instead.

This is so far my only complaint (and the only thing I can really give Constructive Criticism on) with this hack, otherwise it is terrific.

EDIT: Ooookay. I'm a bit confused as to how I'm supposed to get at the Red Gyarados in Lake of Rage. I've been wandering around the place looking for a path to the guy, but I can't find one. I see trainers and items on high up ledges but I can't reach them X_x

DOUBLE EDIT: I think I sequence broke the game. Despite not being able to fight Red Gyarados, I was able to beat the Mohagany Gym and now I can go to Goldenrod City. I'm a bit concerned that I can't get the Whirlpool HM.

TRIPLE EDIT: Dude, your TM edits kick major ass. Sacred Fire and Cross Chop being buyable from Celadon City (I'm guessing, since they replace Sunny Day and Rain Dance)? Holy crap yes. Only thing to make this better would be Aeroblast as a TM.

So you didn't find red gyarados ?
Well there is a "wall" in the mountain in lake of rage and you can go through it. If you can't find it I'll give you a pic of it (PM me of that).

I think I changed Celadon Mart a little so they're probably not Sunny Day and Rain Dance...but I'm not sure of it though.
And about Aeroblast, there is a TM called Aeroblast in the game :D
You can get it in Celadon Mansion but it's a bit tricky one:

1. You can only get it at night
2. You have to get to the backdoor of the mansion :P
3. You have to get to the top (isn't too hard but the mansion looks a bit weird)

Very good hack. But... my pikachu could learn surf, while slowpoke couldn't... it kinda ripped of part of the team -.-
Good thing though, is that I can still use slowpoke as bulk/psychic one. And... well... pikachu has more special attack and second gen has no stab... poor fire types LoL

I don't know how to explain it but the difficulty levels in battle tower are lv10 20 30 40...100. You've to battle with three pokemon and beat all the trainers there. Try it if you want but it's not necessary.

Also, I wasn't able to find Violet
Violet City was in the game at first but afterwards I got a major bug and I had to remove it from the hack. You can still enter there with "walkthough walls" code and glitch the game.

With Farfetch'd when it is in front of the shrine you've to make a weird decision and head right and jump of the ledges there.
Then you can return to place where the bird is below it.
Then just talk to it and follow it where it flies.

Go back to Mt. Moon and head the other direction than to Pewter or Cerulean City. Then it will take a while to get there :P

Last form of Pikachu is Pichu, you'll get it at like lvl 75

The problem is that you either have slow computer or you can't waste time training.
Chikorita evolves at lv30-32 if I'm right and haunter evolves to gengar at lv60 or so. I don't remember the evolutions levels clearly so it may evolve already at 54, probably later though.

Actually "the cuter the stronger" doesn't exist anymore but since pichu is cool and pikachu was the starter I wanted to make pichu STRONG and I think it's stats go even higher than the legendaries' ones.

K so chickorita evolves at 30-32 but i dont play on a computer i use my R4 with Lameboy (L button speeds it up to like 3x-4x the speed) and I do train for a while but I do have 5 people in my team

In dragon's den you've to go back where you came from when you get to the second room. If you go up you'll get back to the first room.

To get to red gyarados in lake of rage there is a "secret entrance" (it's visible) to the mountains. You can see where gyarados is in the left part in lake of rage.

yah, i have gengar and no trading is needed..

u don't need a thunderstone to evolve pika to raichu, i think u only need to get it to lvl 54? if i remember correctly...


and btw, pichu is awesome!!!!! XD

Yep all of them can be obtained.
You can get Zapdos and Moltres pretty easily since they can be found by just playing the game through but Articuno is a harder one.
However if you like to explore all areas you'll find Articuno for sure.

No I don't remember but I played it through once with slowking and I got him before indigo plateau. Probably at lv40 or so...
Water stones can be bought in goldenrod mart if you want to change your mind but slowking is more powerful than slowbro.

There is a minor bug in route 41 which you just saw;
first suicune goes away and when you return there it's there and says "object event". I've no idea how to fix that so I haven't tried it.

To get suicune you've to get to the another section of Ruins of Alph which can be accessed through Union Cave.

I guess I shouldn't have put places with doors in them which can't be accessed but there is no warp anywhere behind that swimmer.
The same goes with my other hacks as well, for example there is a trainer blocking a cave in legend version next to saffron city.

So if you use walk through walls -code and go past the swimmer the cave entrance will just send you back. So Articuno's is not there :P

have you meet the team rocket who stole the machine part? it's on the left side of the city, and you need to surf to go there. after you talk to him, he'll tell you the machine part is in the gym, and fly away.
if you've already met him, then the machine part is in the upper left side of the gym. just explore that part, and you'll find it easily.

by the way, is there a cross chop TM in the game??

Because the first two generations are the hardest to hack. They're a big challenge. Gen 3 is easier to hack, since its code is more organized.

The hack looks Ok, but I've got two things to say:

1. Some map connections doesn't make sense. You exit a house, and you appear standing near a couple of trees, for example.
2. The text isn't edited. So people keep talking about old stuff.

I've been thinking of making own walkthrough of this as well but there isn't one yet. Anyway there is the Basement in the upper-right corner of ecruteak. Go there but make sure your pikachu knows surf before that (I think it does).

Return there with Flash and you will see it's not a glitch.
They're actually flashlights guiding you the way so you've at least a simple idea where you are.

it's not over since this is complete game but are you stuck in lake of rage ?
if so you've to manage to find red gyarados there and when I did this hack I assumed people had played crystal redesign which is a crappy hack done by me as well. there you had to go sometimes through "walls" to go to the top of the mountains. there is a wall like that in lake of rage (on the right side of the area). look for it and then you can find gyarados and go further.

btw there is that union cave in blackthorn city so go there as well so you won't have trouble finding a specific gym leader who has to be fought if you want to face Red in the end

I spent so much time leveling an Abra to 16 from 5, finally got it, guess what doesnt evolve. But i've seen that evolutions have been changed so i continue, get it to level 18 and starts evolving (yay)
Then it learns disable, and not confusion(EPIC FAIL!)
Alakazam is my fav pokemon and always a part of my team. This has REALLY disappointed me and it should be fixed. Either make the Evolution level 16 again or make it learn confusion with disable at 18

edit: Meh, continued to 21 and got psybeam so its okay but it was definately long and frustrating getting him to 21 considering the lowered accuracy rates...
