September 22nd, 2004, 4:22 PM
Blake Ross writes: "The Firefox Preview Release is now available, bringing the browser that Maximum PC called 'a revelatory experience' one step closer to its greatly anticipated public release. Three large new features Live Bookmarks, the Find bar and a new plugin installer have landed since 0.9, along with a host of critical bugfixes. The final release of 1.0 is expected in the fourth quarter of 2004.

"Along with the Firefox Preview Release, we are pleased to announce a preview of Spread Firefox, the new community marketing portal that will house a variety of outreach campaigns in the coming months. We still have plenty of work to do on the site, but you can sign up and get your very own Spread Firefox blog, add a special button to your website that tracks the referrals you generate for Firefox, and join one of our many growing marketing teams. Our first campaign is an effort to get a million downloads of the preview release in the next ten days, and a number of exciting efforts and contests will be rolled out over the coming months."

I downloaded it when I installed my new hard drive. o.o; I like the plugin installer feature... although I can't figure out how to make oekakies work. ><;; It can't automatically find it, and I'm not quite sure how to install Java. o_O So that's really bugging me. Otherwise, I like it ^^;

I never bothered with the 0.9 update since people said it didn't work well... I'm waiting for full stable release of 1.0 before I download it. I HATE Firefox themes! They always crash my computer, and they slow Firefox down... at least, the ones my brother insists on using do... I had to create my own profile so I could use default.

0.9 worked on the upstairs computer, it never worked on the downstairs one. >_> I had to reinstall 0.8 a couple times...

And I'll wait for the final before I install it on the downstairs computer, but this oen seems to work good on the upstairs one...

You have multiple computers to test it on. I don't. I have to be careful considering that this one already crashes at least thrice a day.
