So who do you think is the best Pokémon Manga Artist?
Mato is my favorite!
Nobody can draw Yellow better :)
Kagemaru Himeno (Pokémon KAADO ni natta Wake) is a very good artist too.
But the worst Pokémon Manga artist is Toshihiro Ono.

I think each of the artists have their own unique style...Toshiro Ono's style was more mature. The Pokespecial artists had really, really cute chibi style drawings. (Well, they changed artists so now the style is a bit less chibi-ish but it's still cute)

My favorite artist would be the guy who illustrated "Golden Boyz" this short series about Gold/Silver/Crystal. I forgot his name though.

Mato is THE Best. Best with a capital B.

There's one about some trainer with a Clefairy and a Pikachu. Don't know the names, but it sucks. I mean down to the bottom. It's not even worth LOOKING at.

Quiet Fixi, Yumi Tsukirino did Magical Pokemon Jurney (I think thats it...) her style of drawing is really cute!!! (but its as shoujo as it can get XD)

But for me, its Mato. No one comes close to drawing the charecters as well IMO. =p

I like the art of Magical Pokémon Journey too.It's not the typical Pokémon art but very cute and funny.

But i think Magical Journey isn't the Manga Fixen hates.This is it right?

I read that before...the storyline is so weird! And the way the artist draws the characters is...let's say "unique". :/ Well, it's better than anything I could do...but I don't like his style that much.

The artist drew Gary like (quoting from somewhere) "a DBZ wannabe."

i've never read that b'fore...but the cover page's enough for me.*ahem! weird!* anyway, the best pokemon manga artist for me is mato and satoshi yamamoto.
although i'd say that mato gets one mark above satoshi! :dead:

Yes. Imagine pikachu and clefairy eating or crapping every other page in the manga. I once borrowed it from a comic library in Hong Kong, and I looked at it and I go, "Geez..." and threw it aside.

I mean, seriously, everyone has a DBZ face, and the storyline's messed up. It creeps me out.

I have small portions of it from a KoroKoro manga book I bought...at least the Pokemon (some of them) are drawn well? But I hate how he draws humans!! The Pichu inside the story and the Entei looked okay...

MATO is the bomb. I love his work because not only is it cute and SD, it's pretty mature as well.

Pity he stopped drawing cause I'm unfortunately, not a fan of Yamamoto Satoshi's work.

That probably won't happen. A change in artists is usually permanent.

If MATO's back to drawing mangas, he's probably going to make some other title.

My favorite artist would have to Toshihiro Ono. Alot of people don't like him because of his mature comics and stuff. I think he's the best! He draws his characters and Pokemon with such realism.

But why did he change the way he drew Misty in the middle of the series?

Well, I would choose Mato for his chibi style of drawing and the later pokemon adventures artist , Satoshi and Fudaka for their style too!
