My mum is allowing me to get one of five mobile phones. I really know nothing about phones and I thought I'd ask you guys for advice. Which of the 5 phones would you pick and why?

Nokia E63 (http://www.nokia.com.au/find-products/all-phones/nokia-e63)
Nokia N6500 (http://www.lifeatmost.com/mobile-phone/nokia-6500-slide-specs-price-and-release-date/)
Samsung F480 (http://www.samsung.com/au/f480/)
Sony Ericsson C510 (http://www.sonyericsson.com/cws/products/mobilephones/overview/c510)
Samsung S7330 (http://au.samsungmobile.com/mobile-phone/GT-S7330-overview)

I'm currently going for the third one which is pretty obvious why; it looks a lot better than the others but looks aren't everything right?

I don't care too much about music and I'm certainly not an audiophile but I would like one that takes decent photos and videos. The only camera I have right now is my DSi which is horrendous. I accidentally broke my current mobile phone's camera function by dropping it in water last year at school camp. xD

Also, I have to admit, though a little sad, I use my DS quite a lot for videos and mp3 playback (MoonShell2 ftw) if it relates in anyway.

Oh this is certainly my department of expertise. *wakes up in interest*
The Nokia e63-As you can see it has a lot of buttons. That is due to it being a business phone. For our age I do not see how exactly a business phone would actually benefit so scratch that one out. Unless you like business phones. I dunno.
The Nokia N6500-Its stylish its sleek and it has a good camera resolution. But it has Symbian. My god is symbian tedious. If you can get used to it sure but I just cannot find the appeal to it. Seriously. Also the 6500 comes in slide and candybar.
The SE C510-Best option imo and I am not saying it cause I am an SE fanboy. This phone is sleek the buttons are a bit tiny but they are great with some excellent tactile feedback and the camera is pretty cool. And it is fairly cheap.
The samsung F480-Its a samsung. If you want go for it but the camera is not all that great and the build quality is well fairish.
The Samsung S7330-Again its a Samsung. The quality is pretty good better then above but hey its your choice. I will provide links to a site I trust for their reviews and maybe you can get more of an insight. Careful its a long read:
6500 candybar (http://www.gsmarena.com/nokia_6500_classic-review-177.php)
6500 slider (http://www.gsmarena.com/nokia_6500_slide-review-198.php)
E63 (http://www.gsmarena.com/nokia_e63-review-305.php)
F480 (http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_f480-review-236.php)
S7300 I cannot find it.
C510 they do not have it but I can say its an excellent phone. I hope this was any help to you.

Wow, that's a tough choice though I think my dad has the Nokia E63 and it's pretty neat though that Sony Ericsson is pretty sleak and sexy looking.

I'd probably go with the Ericsson

Firstly What are you looking for in a phone?
Like Music camera extras etc?

Erm... xD

Music isn't too important but I would like one that takes decent photos and videos.

I would go for the Sony!
I have a similar model to that and it works nicely and does everything I need it too :D

No it is not. If the best buy were to chosen the split would be between the E63 and the Sony Ericsson 510. and it is not a Sony. Anyway the phone with the most available and easy UI or platform is the C510 with the A200. It is easy its made by SE and best of yet is so awesome. Also if you know how you can tweak things up quite a bit. The symbian platform as I said is tedious and annoying. Samsung has well something.

I do agree with your point on the first one. I am currently not on a plan with erm... how should I put it... internet. Sorry I'm really bad at mobile phone terminology. I hardly ever use the internet and I've only ever used it to access Facebook for a free trial on my "3" plan. Don't ask if you don't know what I'm talking about. I also rarely ever text anyone (maybe 10 times a month) so a QWERTY keyboard isn't really needed I suppose.

Thanks to everyone who's given advice so far. Keep them coming. =)

I'm currently mainly deciding between the Sony Ericsson C510 and Samsung F480.

Well that is certainly your fairest split choice. Now then for the camera and music!(oh god I might confuse you a bit so read carefully.really carefully) And nah your terminology is correct and I get it "3" is a mobile carrier over i Australia. So then to music and Camera! Before that click here to get a review for the C510:

Music-Well the C510 is obviously a Cybershot SE which means that it technically doesn't do as well as its Sony Ericsson counterpart line of Walkman phones. But the sound quality is decent you cannot say it is not. The Samsung well I haven't done much to see what its capabilities are with in store models so yeah. (yes I do sit in stores sometimes and check phones out at 30 minutes or more XD)
Camera-Its all about the Cam Sensor. And the SE does not dissapoint. As a Cybershot Phone it has one of the best 3.2MP sensors and the picture quality is great. Add the great flash and you got a winner. The Samsung. Well the sensor is decent not exactly the best and well the flash is horrible.

Also the SE has a fairly good screen in the sunlight. Cannot say much bout the Samsung though.
