Alright, so, people have told me that flash games and in-browser games actually download stuff onto your computer. It doesn't seem logical to me, but I don't have enough information to support my thoughts. Exactly how factual is this?

Everything you see is downloaded and put in a temporary folder hidden somewhere in My Documents or the like. I found it once but can't recall where, it's called TEMP and has many subfolders with names like {23413208571407100 which contain cached images, flash content, videos, etc.

So yeah, for viewing this page you've put my avatar somewhere on your computer. xD

O.o that's kinda scary, yo.
especially considering some of the site I've been to... xD

Do we know exactly what it's for? Or did MS just wanna have a laugh?

The purpose of caching content is so that you don't have to reload the same content if it reappears on another page (or if you reload the same page). Flash also stores some website-specific settings information, I believe. Additionally, Microsoft doesn't make Flash, Adobe does.

You can clear your cached files using something like CCleaner (http://www.ccleaner.com/), and I believe you can delete Flash's cache by visiting this page (http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager07.html), though I'm not sure if that's the same thing.

I was... joking about the little scratched out bit... And I didn't state that Microsoft made Flash. ;)

Anyways, thanks.
