How do you (very n00bish XD) get a moving avatar?

Well moving avatars are called .gif files. Not all gif files will be animated but a fair few of them are. Type something into google with gif at the end and you're likely to find an animated avatar of the subject you want.

I assume you mean an animated avatar, as long as it's within the dimension of 130 x 130 and the size limit for regular members, you can find an animated image and upload it as your avatar, they're usually saved in the GIF format and aren't too hard to come by, unless you decide to make your own. Whatever floats your boat.

EDIT: Beaten, this is what I get for eating a sandwich.

If you want to, make your own! Just make a couple of pictures that make cense (an animation) and go to Iaza.com Upload the first picture, then click animate, then ad the rest of the pictures in the right order.

I'm trying to find an animated avatar of something from Homeworld or any related sequels. I tried KUUN-LAN.gif, but nothing appeared (The KUUN-LAN is the ship that is my avatar :D)

I would be so glad to give you a good post comment if someone could find me something Homeworld related for me.

Ever heard of Printscreen, MS Paint, and http://www.iaza.com?

I've only heard of Paint, but not the others. How am I supposed to animate a picture? *really confused*

Could someone do it for me?

This is the only Homeworld (2) GIF you'll find, since I made it, a long time ago actually:
http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o29/Hotaru-Aoiro/HW2PDS7HAC-IIB.gif
Vaygr HAC-IIB fighters from the PDS mod, so don't worry if you don't recognise it.
Even if that was 130px wide it'd still be over 300KB, no way it'd be usable here.

Capture a video (but first turn the game HUD off) using Fraps or some such program, open video file (.avi) in Microsoft GIf Animator (Google it, not too hard to find, and yes it is freeware), cut lotsa frames out until the animation is about, say, five frames per second, save it to wherever you usually save things.
Resize the image using GIMP (unless you have Photoshop or something already; again, Google it, it is also freeware); be sure to resize all layers, in the case of this site, to the largest dimension being 130px.

Even once you've done all of this though, you will find that the image size limit on this site is atrociously low for the pixel dimensions they allow, so your avatar would have to be something like 80px wide, and at such sizes it's really not worth anyone's effort; watching dark spaceships fight in a dark space in a very small box beside a post on a forum is... pointless.
In the end all I can say to you is not to bother, the most frames you can put up in an avatar on this site is about six, and that's not even enough for me to use any simple 100x100 animated avatar I've found on any other site.

Take note of the website that 非常に高いレベル mentioned.

Thanks.
I don't mind if it doesn't work on this site, I can use it on my own forums :)

Actually, would it be possible for the admin to raise the limits, just so I can put up my image, then lower them again? I don't mind though if you don't want to.

I don't think they're going to change something just for you and then change it back. That's so unfair to everyone else who may want to make something as their avatar or something along those lines but can't.

Besides, what have you done to deserve such special treatment? :|

Nothing, I only SUGGESTED it. No need to go so defensive.

Uh, I think this thread merits being closed now. Woah 7 people viewing at the same time? Spey, your threads are popular for a reason. You always seem to start some drama, how about you google some things hey? I mean asking where to find avatars in CQ+F is pretty silly.

I've asked this question of the inimitable Mr. Spey many a time.
