I mean, honestly.

I attempt to post up a signature gallery, as I love creating graphics and like to show them off - when, wait, what? I have to have fifteen posts to post a URL?

inb4 "it's to prevent spam", I completely understand what it's there for. Regardless, I firstly don't see why it's fifteen posts, as what spam bots make more than one without linking something, and secondly, I don't see why I cannot link URLs in tags. Honestly, when have you seen a spam bot or advertiser post an [i]image?

You can say I'm a noob and to get over it, but I dislike it, as I have to force myself to make conversation in areas I normally wouldn't enter just to post something I want to share.

I just find it pointless and annoying. Why not five posts? And if you say, "Oh, a normal member could make an account and make five posts, then put a spam bot on," I'll just reply the fact that they can do it at the moment, with the slight drawback of ten more posts. Hazzah.

Not even I can say that. Haha.

When we actually get around to changing the number (takes a while) we'll mention that we did and you'll find out when it's no longer relevant to you.

Probably so. I appreciate the response, all the same. Guess I'm off to make another eleven posts. -sigh-

If you like Graphics.. Then I don't think you'll have any problems getting 15 posts by posting around in the graphic section.. You don't exactly have to force your self to make conversations with anyone... You can simply post in the Gallery's of other people until you have enough posts to make your own...

There are also other section that give a + in post count.. Such as this one.. And creating a welcome thread 1+.... And if you reply to the threads you make.. Thats a more +.... So...

You can look at it as a bonus.. You give people a good rating on their banners.. Then when you can post your own gallery the people will return the favor and comment on your gallery... ;)

I suppose you're right; I'm probably just overreacting. ^-^'

D: Hopefully you don't have to force yourself too hard to post, since this is forum.. ^^; but yeah, 15 posts can come real easy in almost any area. If you wanted to stay within the Graphics section, just comment on some people's art for a few minutes. o.o That should get it done. (b ' ')b

Yeah, I suppose I'm just being stupid. I overreact a lot, I guess. xD

And wow, a fellow end-your-username-with-a-full-stop person. ;3

Well, I remember feeling the same outrage at that rule when I was a newbie (back in 2004), but it's there to stop spammers or trolls from joining, and posting really disgusting images everywhere. (as an inb4b& laugh)

It helps to isolate trolls and spammers who have to burn through 15 posts to post images and links (15 posts is more than enough to raise staff attention, especially if most of those posts are ignoring the rules.) Other Voting Polls is a fun place to burn off posts, without needing a whole lot of thought.

Yeah, you're right. As I said, I was seriously overreacting - I almost have fifteen posts now anywho. Not as much of a perilous annoyance as I thought it would be. ;3

My main reason for wanting it so high is... porn spammers. Since we invoked this "you need a postcount of 15 to post images, links, etc." limit, we have never once had an issue with random porn spammers. You know, the ones that join just to post hentai on a Pokemon forum because they're bored. Considering I haven't had to see guro or disgusting images on the job in so long, it's a small trade-off, I think.

Well at least you have over 15 posts now! :) Yeah,I also found it kind of annoying when I first joined.
