There's been too many threads asking for help on how to run and save Heart Gold/Soul Silver with emulators, so one general thread would be much better. From now on, every thread posted in Emulation about this will be moved here.

Rules

Heart Gold/Soul Silver emulation problems only.
No linking to ROMs.

Anybody who is having the black screen after Oak issue, follow the megaupload link posted below:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=XYATR5X1

This is a download for the pokefix patcher. Simply follow the instructions that come bundled with.

This does not contain the rom, ofcourse.

Anybody who is having saving issues, I don't really know what to tell you. Make sure you have your NDS Cartridge Backup Media set correctly in the No$GBA setup. I have mine set to "Flash 512KBytes."
After the patch and making sure it's set correctly saving turns out just fine for me.

I need some help. Everytime I play, eventually after like 20 minutes I get a "ROM Image has crashed" and even if I saved, it won't say I did and I have to start from a random save point before. How do I stop this?

You may have a bad rom, which is a little hard to believe.

Another thing; Under your no$GBA emulation settings (if that's what you're using), if you are playing the patched version of HG/SS make sure you have it set under Reset/Startup Entrypoint to GBA BIOS (Nintendo Logo).
Make sure the save type is set to Flash512KBytes under NDS Cartridge Backup Media too.

I've had the rom image crash error before, but it was because my computer had too much running which resulted in the rom running incredibly slow until it just crashed.

The only other thing I could recommend if it still doesn't work is just try it with another emulator.

1. In your emulator, go to your emulator settings(F11). In Reset/Startup Entrypoint, choose GBA BIOS(Nintendo Logo). Then press OK. After that save the settings.
2. Get biosnds7.rom(16 kb)* , biosnds9.rom(4 kb)* and firmware (It is a bin file. 256 kb)* If you are a pro in DS hacking, get the files directly from it, otherwise download it.
Now if open your emulator, it will show the ds starup and menu. But still, the game won't work.
3. Get eNDryptS Advanced*, place the rom in the directory where you have stored eNDryptS Advanced. Open eNDryptS and choose the first option. The rom will be encrypted.
4. Open the encrypted rom and have fun!!!
NO$GBA is much faster than desmume and ideas.

Also, remember to save often. It may freeze sometimes. You won't be able to use the reset option after this.
*Linking to these files is illegal

When I do this, I get to the main DS startup screen. I click the Game, and I get a "Rom crashed" message.

EDIT: Also, when I do NOT do this, my game freezes after I KO a pokemon (in my first battle)

Yeah, that's my problem too! If I run form a battle it will still work, but it freezes whenever I knock out the pokemon. Trainer battles make it freeze too.

for Ctep:
I can tell you what you can do not to play again. Save often. After you save, File -> Cartridge Menu (Filename) -> choose ROM and open it or turn emulator off and then back on. Then you can continue where you started. It is important, that it is you, who ends the game, not the error.

I have the same problem as the two users above. The game runs nicely until I get into the battle. If I run it doesn't get frozen, but If I knockout a wild Pokemon or in trainer battle the screen freezes and it doesn't continue. It just...stops.

If anyone could help, I would really appreiate it. I have no DS and the emulator is the only way to play this kind of game in my country :(

ive been playing soul silver on dsemume, but that runs at about 70 percent. ive also tried no$ and put in the code to make it work, but after a while i get the "rom image has crashed" message, and i have to start from where i restarted my emulator last, which is a big pain. so my question would be either how to make dsemume run at about 150 percent or how to make sure no$ doesnt give me that message.

Do you mean after the title screen? If so, that's normal, just choose the bottom bubble. If not, then I can't help you.

OKay, it worked fine for me and I played kinda cautiously and saved alot but then I turned it off and back on and I started and the same place that I started the first time, as if I had never saved =/.

( I started and played 20 min saved and turned it off -> loaded the game and played saving alot in between and turned it off at 1:15 -> when I tried to load it, it was back at 20 min)

Any ideas what I did wrong?

And btw, the battles work for me.

EDIT: Actually I think I found a solution, I guess I'll post it just in case anyone else needs it. You have to make the NDS Rom Backup media Flash 512kBytes.

EDIT2: Okay now I'm having problems with this again and I lost 30 more min of game...

For me, I'm trying out the rom on No$GBA. What you all have mentioned, I've experienced before. THis is how I ensure that I get minimal crash possibilities, but making sure my save is there.

1. Saving in the game frequently doesn't equate that the save file will be there. If you want to make sure your save file will be created properly, after saving, close the emulator. Upon closing, the actual save file will be re-created.
2. Turn it back on, your latest save should be there.

Do these often and you won't lose your save data.

I also get a enter-battle bug(you are supposed to enter a battle but the screen freezes, music plays in-game battle) that I have no choice but to hope my latest save is not that far off.

Well, there are a few things wrong the ROM I was playing...

Well, for one, there is a problem in Sprout Tower: Don't get that first PokéBall on the top floor, or your game will freeze in battle with that first monk.

Second, the save isn't working properly. Apparently, I'm saving my game after everything I've done now, and I even set it to Flash 512K, and it still brings me back to nearly the beginning.

Thirdly, occasionally, my game will freeze at a certain point, and say "The ROM image has crashed."

So here's my question:
Should I just make save states if I want to progress further in the game?

Skully
September 13th, 2009, 08:58 AM
@Wind:
1. Thats just your ROM, it's fine with me.

2. Make sure your sound isn't on Digital Mono, it has to be Stereo.

3. It happens to everyone.

I solved my saving problem by opening same rom again after saving, I always do that and it always saves that. As I start my game I'm in DS menu and I think game wants to quit there too, so that's why I always do that. It works with me. I didn't have any problems with Sprout Tower. I'm using NO$Gba.

My game just crashes randomly as I said up there.

Guess we may have to live with the random crashes, but save and restart your emulator often and it shouldn't be a big problem.

I have not encountered the save finish and crash immediately issue. =.=

Btw guys, I notice from some screenshots, they are quite colored. I'm using No$GBA, but the colors are quite...dull to say the least. Anyone knows how or why to rectify this issue?

I think you need to change the Emulation Setup then the NDS-Cartridge Backup Media to FLASH 512. Oh and thanks to everyone who posted Saving issues and that you have to turn the ROM off directly after saving. I had no idea you had to do that, and lost my game every time! Thanks so much!

First up, ThatGuy, check the first page, they have dealed with that problem,

Secondly, Variety, I had the same problem, however it turned out just to be the ROM. I got a new one of the net and now my saves work fine. Just remember, after you save, close straight away and reopen your ROM.

Alright, I'm having crashing issues.
I've just beaten whitney (I've had no problems prior to this).
Now, when I try to use a Super Potion, then save, the game comes up with "The rom image has crashed".
The funny thing is that this only happens after using a Super Potion, and it hasn't happened prior to this.

hi, i am experiencing some problems too, ok what i know by now, if you arent using no$gba 2.6a, they will spot the piracy and you will only have a blue screen with japanese letters, then, if you start, and have the black screen, then or use the download on first post or use the cheat ( wich i use ), next when it freezes, you will normally start back from where you saved last, when it says " the rom image has crashed " you start back from when you saved and closed the emu, then when you catch a scyther in the bug catching contest, it will allways say " the rom image has crashed " right before you go to look who won ( when it is black screen ) or right after you won, then, the closer you come to ecruteack city, the more "the rom image has crashed " right after saving happens, and from the moment you are in ecruteack and you have talked to bill and got the key item from the man in the house left from the pokecenter, it allways crashed right after saving, wich means you can't save in ecruteack city, that's what happenend with me till now ... i hope there will be some fixes for this soon :)

Well this kinda depends on what emulator your playing on. For most people no$gba runs the game the fastest. On no$gba my game usually runs at about 80% outside and 100% inside.

Long story short, I wrote up this whole epic bit about how this patch won't work for me, but then the stupid "no link posting" thing came up, and everything I wrote went "poof", so I'll sum it up as quickly as I can.

I'm running NO$Zoomer2.0.3.2 through NO$GBA2.6 running
4159_-_Pokemon_Heart_Gold_(J)(Xenophobia) downloaded from Romulation.

I downloaded the pokefix patch, and I can extract the folder just fine. But then I go into the folder, and it wont let me extract the BIOS and the Firmware.

I'm about ready to punt a kitten, I've been searching the net for SOME solution, to no avail, and this looks promising.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I need some help. Everytime I play, eventually after like 20 minutes I get a "ROM Image has crashed" and even if I saved, it won't say I did and I have to start from a random save point before. How do I stop this?

Yeah, this happens to me too.

What i eventually realised was that it reverts to the previous save made BEFORE a crash.

in other words, if you normally save then turn the emulator off, then turn it back on. the save is permanent.

if you save, but dont quit the emulator, and it crashes, it doesnt register as a proper save for whatever reason.

so, every time you save, exit the emulator, then restart it.

Doing that seems to help, although I have no idea why. It's a pain, but in my experience it does work.

I'm having some problems with the DeSmuME emu. On one account on my computer it works with HG/SS, but on another, everytime I try to open up the rom, I get a black screen. At the top, it just sits there saying (99%) DeSmuME 0.9.4 x86 and won't open. Help please?

EDIT: I have to go, so if somebody could please VM or PM me with help, it would be greatly appreciated and I'd give you a credit in my trade thread if you're interested.

I'm going to be playing my game on an R4 and I was wondering what anti-freeze/piracy patch works well or has the best success rate with the R4?

Right, so here's my problem.
Using No$GBA, I've layed through with the freeze fix/blackscreen fix code on and everything is fine and dandy.
Random crashing/freezing every now and then, nothing a little closing and reopening and playing from a previous save can't fix but now...

I've defeated Whitney and obtained the Squirtbottle.
Any wild pokemon/trainer pokemon I faint, it freezes and then crashes.
Anytime I save right outside or inside National Park building or exterior, it freezes and then crashes.
I cannot continue if this keeps up as I must fight at least one trainer and Sudowoodo before I can progress.

I tried downloading and patch the freeze fix patch on and whilst that worked as it was supposed to, it did not rectify my problem as I still have it.
I even tried using the patch and code at the same time. No use.

Any suggestions?
Playing it on ANY other emulator is useless as they can't even get me as far as I've gotten without constantly freezing/blackscreening/crashing earlier on than No$GBA.

Help?

EDIT:

No, yvette, they aren't seperate roms because we're not allowed link roms here.
You just patch the patch to your existing rom and continue playing.

They don't fix my problem above anyway.

I downloaded the first file for my Soul Silver ROM. The .rar File had 2 Folders. The first one was SS_Localized and the other SS_Katakana. I copied my ROM in the SS_Localized folder and then draged it to the "DragUntrimmedROMhere.bat" file. Then I get the message :
"Patching...
xdelta3: target window checksum mismatch: XD3_INVALID_INPUT

The xdelta patching utility was unable to apply the patch. Make sure to use the original <unpatched, untrimmed> ROM and extract all of the patch files to the same folder before running this."

I don't know what to do know.

P.S.: What's this patch.PAT file??

Hey, Pokemon League Champion.
I did download the patch and I did do it correctly as it patched perfectly, but it did not sort out my freezing problem.
So no, it doesn't fix all freezing problems, just most of them.
Besides, the roms had many errors to begin with.

I'ma give it another whirl after leaving the emulator and rom alone for a while and see if it works now.

I did use the patch in the localized folder. Should I have used the Katakana one instead?

EDIT: Okay. New problem.
Using the patch, in conjunction with the code to stop the blackscreen after name screens.
Up to Sudowoodo, no freezing after I left it for a while...
BUT...
The minute I save game, BOOM! The Rom Image Has Crashed!

Now, this would be a minor thing if No$GBA had some proper save stating, not that stupid snapshot crap. Snapshots crash the minute you try loading them.

Any help?
Freezing/Blackscreens are no longer an issue. It's just the saving.
Saving didn't bother me up until now.
I have it set to Auto and that has worked. Now, I could try Flash 512K or whatever it is but that'd only cause the same effect I think.

Help?

EDIT EDIT: I HAVE SORTED OUT MY SAVING ISSUES.
Just after the save sound rings, there is like two seconds before the Rom Image Has Crashed window appears.
I attempted to close the emulator just after the ringing but before the Crashed window could appear.
And I loaded it back up and voila there it was, in the position I closed it at just after the save sound rang.
GO ME! I'm so happy I can continue now.

By the way, I have to say, that frikkin english patch is awesome, whoever made it(The guys' names on the english titlescreen).
It's great to be able to play with items and moves and some other things in english so that it's not entirely annoying to read the Japanese.
This way, I won't end up deleting moves that are useful for moves that aren't.

EDIT X 3: Something I just noticed. If you turn the sound off on No$GBA and then faint a pokemon, it just freezes before it drops, after it's HP is all gone.
I found this funny so I turned the sound back on whilst it was still frozen and lo and behold, it rang the faint sound and it continued with no problem.
Funny indeed.

I'm having the black screen after Oak problem, i can hear my bedroom music but see nothing...

Ive tried the patch at the beginning of the thread but everytime I change my Reset/Startup Entrypoint to Game BIOS it tells me the ROM image has crashed.
Without that step it still goes black after Oak.

Is there anyway at all I can get past this black screen? The game works on Desmume but its terribly slow so I'm finding NO$GBA works better but I cant even play it past the naming...

Thanks in advance for the help!

Go to the Utility Menu > Cheats > Add New
Enter this code:
020DD9E4 E1A00000
020D3820 E1A00000

Mark the Action Replay DS Box, hit ok.
Now a thing should appear in the code menu, it has a check box.
DOUBLE-click it to make the tick appear in the box.
Then hit ok.
And it should now get you past the black screen after Oak and on your way to playing your game.

ENJOY!

I don't know what English patch you or anyone else in this thread are using, but mine translate almost everything minus the dialogue of everyone... the items, the Pokemon names, the moves and stats...

What's the name of the translator... the one I use is from KazoWAR/Magius... his thread is here (http://projectpokemon.org/forums/showthread.php?t=4534) but you can't view it unless you're a member of that forum... so to save the wasted time of joining... he made a thread here (http://www.pokecommunity.com/showthread.php?t=194342). Just get them there.

Currently it's on version 5 but I was using version 4 and I don't experience those saving crashes... however, I still experience random crashing and some hanging in certain areas (these hangs can be restarted from your last save point) so it's better to be safe and save and close and re-open.

Yeah, that's my problem too! If I run form a battle it will still work, but it freezes whenever I knock out the pokemon. Trainer battles make it freeze too.

The issue (in case it hasn't been answered yet; I haven't read the whole thread) is that you have the sound on your emulator to "off", "mute", or something similar. 4th generation games depend on the sound to be produced for the game to proceed. I believe this was considered to be one of Nintendo's anti-piracy measures with Diamond/Pearl.

I don't know if this belongs here, and if it doesn't, please tell me. :S

On to the problem at hand, I was messing around with the HGSS Pokesav Version 0.02 last Sunday, and I ticked the 'All Key Items' cheat. After that, I turned on my game and discovered that I had all the key items from Platinum and not Heart Gold. (xD...). Is there any way I can reverse/fix this and get my original Heart Gold key items back, or will I have to wait till the creator of the HGSS Pokesav to add in all the Heart Gold items? Since it's still generation IV (Heart Gold), I'm still able to use stuff like the Bike. But I lost important stuff like the Team Rocket keycards and whatnot. Great. D:

o.o I don't think it's possible however, you can remove those Platinum items that you added by modifying them and deleting them?

Did you back up your save file just in case, cause if you didn't you're going to have a lot of problems there. Either you restart or wait for a new version of Pokesav for HGSS to come out. I actually only use Pokesav for editing the stats of my Pokemon and giving me those items that can either be sold or discarded... I don't like messing with the Key Items since that Pokesav uses the engine D/P/Pt originally uses... DX

Why the hell do you keep calling them ignorant people when the problem is not the patch you gave but rather something else that keeps freezing or crashing their ROMs and as much as they try to explain it, you still keep on insisting the Clean ROMs, hmm?
---

And wtf are you talking about when it comes to Action Replays? no$GBA has its own cheats window where you can put your AR codes on, and majority of the people who uses flashcarts will eventually set up the AR codes in their own carts, so you're still going to use them eventually.

Criticize eh? Well if you didn't seem so rude when it comes to answering people's complaints, you'd probably never gotten anything from me in the first place... and possibly the reason why no one posted that patch you gave is probably because the one that first came out works for people who already tried it, don't you agree?

Oh yeah, your PM to me was amusing, you thought I was having problems with my game when clearly I wasn't. Stop assuming something that isn't true, okay?

o.o I don't think it's possible however, you can remove those Platinum items that you added by modifying them and deleting them?

Did you back up your save file just in case, cause if you didn't you're going to have a lot of problems there. Either you restart or wait for a new version of Pokesav for HGSS to come out. I actually only use Pokesav for editing the stats of my Pokemon and giving me those items that can either be sold or discarded... I don't like messing with the Key Items since that Pokesav uses the engine D/P/Pt originally uses... DX

Um... the problem is, I don't know how to delete them, and even if I do, I won't have any key items! That's even worse than having the Platinum ones. :x

I don't think I did, but I'll check (most probably not). I guess I'll have to wait, but it's not that bad. At least the 'universal' key items (like the Bicycle) work on HGSS.

Yeah, maybe that's why. I can't even edit Pokemon with the HGSS Pokesav, since it's all in some weird font that's not even Japanese. :( When I saw the 'All Key Items' option, I automatically assumed they meant all key items for HGSS, so I ticked it.

I want to complain. What a misleading option, especially since it's the HGSS Pokesav! Not even any warnings, or anything! >:0

Hey, for all of you using flash-carts:

I have an EDGE. (They recently went out of production :( )
HeartGold and SoulSilver both work fine, you can save, battle Pokemon and Trainers and possible even complete the game, but it still will freeze!!

Examples:
Accessing the Menu*
After Battles*
Entering/Exiting Buildings*
Randomly as you walk*
After Talking to People*
etc.
* = Only Sometimes, not always.

I haven't tried to test them in an emulator though.
Also are we allowed to say where we got our roms from without actually linking to the roms?? If so I have a speedy little download for you...

Lawlz, I just find you amusing for even calling me "ignorent". Lawlz. Oh yeah, I knew it was a different version, so does it still matter? Besides, some people here say your "found" patches are too outdated now. Also, next time you want to insult someone or anyone for that matter, check your spellings first. Chances are, you'll just be laughed at and possibly trolled rather than left alone.

Um... the problem is, I don't know how to delete them, and even if I do, I won't have any key items! That's even worse than having the Platinum ones. :x

Now that's a problem there... DX I suppose it is best to wait for a new version... or start a new game and transfer all the Pokemon you already have in your current party into your new save (also, the HGSS Pokesav, my last use of it, can only edit your current Party Pokemon, the box edit option seems to be disabled)... but as for the Japanese fonts giving out weird symbols, maybe you should get AppLocale (you can Google it and run Pokesav from there, unless you're working on Vista, then you can just set your Regional and Languages option to Japanese, you can do this on XP but you need to restart, so it's a hassle) and install some Japanese fonts into your computer so you can see the Japanese text better... and so that it won't mess up your save file after you're done messing with the new save... xD;;

Holy crap dude, it worked. Thanks man. I had the sound turned off so no$gba will run better, so i just turned itt o the middle option, muted it cuz the sound is annoying when its running fast or running slow, and it worked! I ****ed up a pidgey for the first time, thanks to you :D

:P Really now? Then you suck even more for even bothering arguing with me. :) So what if you're 13... you know what, an eleven-year-old can spell even better than you, and what's even worse, they don't even live in the US and English is their second language. How about that?

And I like to argue, because you plainly keep on insulting without you even realizing it. It just makes me laugh that you can't swallow you own pride and admit that you were wrong on some parts. Yes, I did made some mistakes here and there... does that make you happy? :) How about you, who just keeps on telling people they suck because you think you're so damn better than everyone else... hmm?

If you're really helping them, then you shouldn't really call them stupid or ignorant, now would you? Instead, you will be patient in helping them, asking them questions on what their problem is, so that other people viewing this thread can jump in and help, even if you didn't make that damn patch you were directing to.

If you want me to stop, then I suggest you stop insulting people, and if you do insult them, make sure it's worth reading and not worth laughing at, okay?

---

Editman: I need to know the following before I can help you with your problem, dude:
- What patch are you using, if any? If none, you should try looking for Magius' patch in the Progressive Hacks section.
- The emulator you're using (if it's NO$GBA, what version)?

If you can go mess around your emulator settings, try changing the save type to 512KB... that might help.

Yep, you should get the latest, which is 2.6a, though you have to google it since the main site itself asks for donation to get the program... which btw, I heard the donation thing isn't working...

So how exactly did you do the patch...?

There were two methods in Maguis/KazoWAR's patch, if I recall correctly, if you can't run the program itself, you could use the alternative batch method included in the rar/zip file which uses the good old Command Prompt to execute it, have you tried editing that .bat file in notepad (also, I recommend renaming and shortening the file name of the clean rom to at least 7 letters just in case)?

Maybe more details on how you tried doing the patch... and we might figure out how to work it for ya... (also, back-up that Xenophobia rom you downloaded, make sure it's untouched so you can experiment with the patch until it works...)

For everyone trying to play HG/SS on No$GBA:

Save yourself a headache by deleting the roms and all the stuff for it off of your computer. Seriously, the game will not let you save your game/load a save past Ecruteak after beating Morty and from all the searching I've done for any possible fix for this I've found nothing. So that's it, just save up some money for the actual games and bear with the lack of a speed up tool.

Okay the league glitch is caused because of the black screen code and we cannot save bcoz of it.
So the trick is to turn off the code before the save after defeating lance and reapply the code when the game starts again for future events thats how i got rid of crash.

They released 0.9.5? I started using 0.9.4 after I beat Morty on No$gba with no problems at all. Then, I beat Clair. Upon entering the Dragon's Den (which area text was in Japanese), I get the usual sprite glitches. After that, if I do anything,(ie. open my bag or pokegear, go down the lader, etc.) the game freezes. Not the anti-piracy freeze where the music loops, but flat out freezes.

I was really enjoying playing this since I can't play my Gold or Crystal games since the internal battery died.

This has happened to me many times and no matter how many times you use the save then turn off trick and then replay it, saving it after beating Whitney, or sometimes, after beating Morty, or anywhere inside Goldenrod or Ecruteak, often causes this problem:
The Rom Image has crashed!

Idk know if this has been answered yet but for all those having the "Black Screen" problem, make sure this Action Replay code is on in your emulator at all times and make sure RAW is checked:

020DD9E4 E1A00000

I know this works for SoulSilver because that's what I'm playing. It should work for HeartGold as well.

If you're going to utterly lie, atleast try to sound intelligent. Oh, and by the way, uploading ROMs to this forum is against the rules. Not to mention the English ROM, when it's available, will probably have more pirate checks, so it will freeze more often then the Japanese ones do now. I'd like to know what you base your logic on. Just because it's in English, it "can't have any crashes and freezes"?

Anyway, with the ROM image crashing thing, I just went "what the heck," and decided to convert my savefile and use the HGSS PokeSav on it to level up my Pokemon a bit. I figured, if it always crashes, what's the problem in poking around a bit? When I converted it back to No$GBA's save format, it loaded back up. So I would try either converting the savefile to something else and back, or converting, editing something stupid and unneeded if you're against cheating, and converting back. It worked for me.

As far as Emulating goes, I've had a lot of luck with No$Zoomer.

Unpack it into the same directory as No$GBA, and just run No$Zoomer.

When I used it in conjunction with the codes:

020DD9E4 E1A00000
020D3820 E1A00000

I found it to be fully playable, with no save issues.

Hope this helps,

11235

P.S. This MUST be used with No$GBA 2.6a... Apparently, it won't really provide any benefits if used with a lower version (Though I haven't tested this).

Just go here everyone:
Soul silver: [had to remove this from the quote cause I don't have enough posts to post links]
Heart gold: [see above]
I didnt make it btw!
these downloads translate the text and stop the freezing (it stops all random freezing aswell)!
also it should run at top speed including flash carts!

What if the ROM I've been using already has a patch? Should I just download a new, unpatched one? If I do, do I rename the ROM to whatever my save file name was? Also, will the patch put the ROM in english? Also, whether or not I have to add an english patch after this patch, won't it mess the game up, since it'll be slightly different than the one I had? Sorry I'm asking so many questions, I just want to be clear with this whole process.

I'm having the problem where the rom image crashes when I try to save after beating Whitney on SoulSilver. I've tried multiple patches and no$zoomer but nothing's helped. Any fix for this yet?

Well looks like people will have to wait for the english rom or for the people with a DS themselves can buy it next month when it hits the stores.. But it'd be nice to know where the working english patches are.

I need a patch that would make the KOREAN HGSS work under NO$GBA.

The problem with Korean versions is exactly the same as with Japanese - after Oak Intro the screen blacks out and you can hear muted New Bark Music. I've tried patching it with the same patch that I used for Japanese version but it didn't work.

I really need patch for KOREAN versions.

And yes, I have the most recent NO$GBA version.

Use the Pokemon Heart Gold or Pokemon Soul Silver Roms from the "HG/SS ORIGINAL Rom" folder to do the following:

STEP 1 - Patch Original Rom with the "No-Freeze RUDOLPH PATCH".

STEP 2 - [Optional - ONLY if you want the menus, Pokemon, attacks, etc. in English]
Patch with the ENGLISH PATCH

(I use KAZOWAR's english patch v6)

STEP 3 - Patch with the CHEAT PATCH.
[It patches the No-Black Screen AR cheat into the game to stop the Black Screen.]

sTEP 4 - Use the ROM DECRYPTER.

STEP 5 - Go into No$GBA's Emulator Settings and make sure the Reset/Startup Entrypoint is set to "GBA BIOS (Nintendo Logo)" before playing.

--------------
As it happens, I think I'm not allowed to post the links. These are easily found on the Internet, do a Google search. If you become tired of enabling DS cheats manually every time you start up No$GBA download an auto trainer called DSATM. It can patch a rom PERMANENTLY with an anti-black screen code, like this one:

020DD9E4 E1A00000
020D3820 E1A00000

Patches? Rudolph's anti freeze is the best. Follow the instructions above for the best result.

Save often and exit when you do. No$GBA 2.6a only writes SAVs when you exit the emulator. ROM running slow?

Set the EMULATION SPEED in options to Unlimited MHZ disaster 50% NDS catridge backup to Auto. Put Sound Output to DIGITAL MONO and Sample rate to LOW.

Can't help those with DESMUME. The best you can do with this is set the FRAMERATE up higher. Speed up codes for NO$GBA 2.6a (DOES NOT WORK WITH DESMUME):

HOW TO FIX THE INTRO UP
Experiencing Black-Screen? This is because you haven't ENCRYPTED your ROM yet

HAVING PROBLEMS FINDING THINGS I'VE MENTIONED?
I downloaded a compilation of all the aforementioned programs from EVILCLOWNBOBO. *hint hint*

Lol, shouldn't be anymore emulation problems now ^_^

Is that where the Ho-oh/Lugia is? That's wrong. You don't need to encrypt it. All you need to do is change the 3D settings. I never patched my rom ONCE and I had that work correctly.

How to get Japan/Korea/French/Any/English version working flawlessly without codes.

Get latest no$gba and latest no$zoomer

Obtain the BIOS by dumping from your DS (sorry, that is the only legal way of doing it)

Put the firmware.bin, BIOSNDS7.ROM, BIOS NDS9.ROM, and BIOSGBA.ROM into the same folder as no$gba and no$zoomer

Go to emulation options and change the Reset/Startup entry to GBA BIOS, save options.

Load the game again and victory achieved!

I have a file type question. I have the Japanese HG Rom running on No$gba 2.6a, and I am going to get the English Rom. If i change the file name on the english ROM to match the .sav file name of the Japanese Rom can they work together. Can I run the English ROM using the Sav file that was made with the JP ROM?

SOLUTION FOR THE NO$GBA USERS!!!

Follow these instructions:
- Download the latest NO$GBA (2.6a) and NO$ZOOMER (2.3.0.2)
- Download biosnds7.rom and biosnds9.rom.
- Put them together in the same directory with the game.nds and the emulators.
- Open your NO$ZOOMER and change the startup entrypoint to: GBA Bios (Nintendo Logo)
- Your HG/SS game will open normally and successfully pass the black screen.
- You may get a freeze every 20-25 minutes so be sure to save often.
