I think France is a really cool country, and recently I've been listening to some French pop songs which my pen pal recommended to me. I haven't heard very many songs yet, but the ones I've listened to so far seemed really good. My favorite ones are these:

Fleur de saison (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UMDunGVx7uU)by (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UMDunGVx7uU) Emilie Simon (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UMDunGVx7uU)
Nos rendez-vous by Natasha St Pier (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xxXNwZLZn0g&feature=related)
L'amour est un soleil by Helene Segara (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x20sQMaQ-p0&feature=related)
Appelle mon numero by Mylene Farmer (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HjYi2zEJzi8)

Does anybody else like French music? If so, what are your favorite French songs? Also, do you like the ones I posted?

We listened to a few songs as part of listening exercises in French class. :3 I think one was called 'Ne Retion Pas Tes Larmes', or something like that. o_O; It was ages ago, but I did like it. I've also listened to French rap... Which is slightly odd, in my opinion. XD

I think it bears repeating. French rap really is weird. Case in point (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iDJ0McwKCwQ).

I don't really listen to much French music, but I like me an occasional song by old timey favorite Édith Piaf.

French House and French Electro is awesome to listen to. Personally couldn't dance to it, but love to listen to it at home and what not.

I feel like Yann Tiersen is such a common answer, but he's brilliant. And mildly attractive.

I've been meaning to check out more of his work. Any favorite material in general from him? :P

Hard decision, he's done so much. My number one favorite composition is probably Le Matin from the album Les Retrouvailles. I suggest you obtain the Amelie soundtrack, which is an obvious choice, but a great start. Good Bye Lenin! is wonderful, too.
