Don't we all love Monster Houses, we all have gotten into one if we played any of the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon games.

The Question is, what moves do you use when you're caught in a Monster house?

I usually use Blizzard for the most part and if not I"m screwed D:

Oh dear god. In the originals, I remember Silver Current. Gayest dungeon ever...but yet I didn't ever go there twice. Had the best friend ever, who saved me every time.

Anyway, all the monster houses were hell for me...I just leaf bladed endlessly, as I was a sceptile. In Mystery Dungeon 2, I use Earthquake a lot and hope that I hit...

I think I always died. I don't remember. I probably used Faint Attack, Shadow Ball, and Blaze Kick (Umbreon and Blaziken).

I always just used vacum cut, lots and lots of times. It actually worked, to my surprise.

I really hate monster houses and I use my Venusaur's best attacks (Razor Leaf, Solarbeam if it's sunny and those two, I haven't played for a long time). My Feraligatr has Blizzard but it's too stupid and just uses something like Water Gun.

In PMD1 I never found Monster House to be much of a threat because all the wild pokemon do like 1 damage to me with their normal attacks.

In PMD2 I use a roomwide move not named Vacuum Cut (18 damage sucks) if possible, or just use a room-wide orb. I carry a bunch of Foe-seal orb on most expeditions just to guard against potential mosnter houses, and it works pretty well.

I like to use Earthquake. The trouble is, my partner is Fire type. >.<

Lol, I started with a Turtwig.

I usually use Mirror Move with my lv. 100 Blaziken, just for the lulz. When I get bored I just use the regular attack. (It OHKOes almost anything except Shedinja.)

Since I got Pikachu as partner on both RRT and EoD , I just use Discharge !
Also on EoD I recruited Dialga n when I take him along I use RoT !

Pachy
September 15th, 2009, 12:38 PM
I'd use Discharge until they were all dead...unless there was a pokemon there on the map with lighningrod ability, then I'm pretty much screwed royally. xD

Me too...
Since RoT is of Dialga , and I take him only occasionally .

I am such a lazy person that I use an Orb that stops every Pokemon on their steps. Or, if not, I'll use Blizzard.

In the old games I just ran for it and hoped to find the stairs quickly. However, now I take to using Petrify or Foe-Hold orbs, turning off my partners' attacks and running for it. Seeing as how I don't want to evolve from a Charmander, I can never learn Heat Wave, another tactic I used in my last games, but if I feel like fighting I'll turn off my partner Pik the Pikachu's except for Discharge and Thunderbolt, and for myself will just use moves such as Flamethrower and stuff.

(Of course, I've already used Wonder Mail to get Golden Seeds for me and my partner Pokemon, so unless I'm in a later dungeon I don't really need to worry that much =3)

I usually have dialga spam his Roar of Time since it usually kills all the pokemon in 1 hit, and its useful for those kinds of situations. Other times I just go to a hallway and try getting them all one by one.

God, I think going up to Rayquaza I had 6, and eventually I just gave up and turned the game boy off. As their were Shedinja's and only I was the fire pokemon (partner was Squirtle) only I could kill him so my partner couldn't save me (if that makes sense).

Vacuum Cut, and Shock Wave.

September 19th, 2009, 09:22 AM
Vacuum Cut. That's what I used in the beginning,in the end after I finished the game or atleast close to the end,I just use a massive wipe attack.

Usually Lava Plume but even using that I'm generally screwed.

Earthquake + Blizzard = antiMH

In a Monster House, since I almost always carry a Petrify Orb, I immediately use that. Else I just go with the flow and hope I succeed.

OK, something annoying, though, is when, in PMD2: EoT, I was going on a mission to arrest a bad Pokemon. Long story short, as soon as I entered that floor, I not only encountered the bad Pokemon (and I do believe when you encounter something like that, you can't use Orbs), but I landed in a Monster House >.>

I still used the Petrify Orb after defeating the bad guy, thankfully. My partner's Hydro Pump really came in handy that time.

Man looks like everyone gets pretty screwed up .
I once used Earthquaqe with a Gabite I was taking along in Mid EoD , But since I was a Torchic and Partner Pikachu.... decided NOT to use this :)

DDDDDDD:
The first time I had a Monster house (in the first MD game for the GBA), I nearly had a HEART ATTACK.
That music...! O_____o;;
On my EoT, I *always* have Petrify Orbs on me. Individual pwnage then ensues.
But I think there are Pokes (like Arbok?) who snap out of it really soon. That's annoying... and reaaally freaky.

I use Foe-fear orbs, and other attacks. I also use Foe-Seal orbs, so they can't move.

Princess Pichu
September 26th, 2009, 01:32 AM
I used Discharge and Vacumme cut alot, well, my partner did (Pikachu)...I spammed Mega Drain just to stay alive. (I was a Treeko)

PMD EoD I use my Cyndaquil's Lava Plume/ Pikachu's Discharge.
I know, Ground types screw me.

Tachibana Azumi
September 27th, 2009, 01:23 PM
I used Vacuum Cut at first, but after I (as a Pikachu) learned Discharge, it was my Monster House sweeping move.

If there was a Lightning Rod Pokemon I would use the Foe-Hold/Petrify Orb and get the HELL out of there.

DarkPikaMan

Discharge in 2 as im a pikachu and i just kept using leafblade in 1

If there was a Lightning Rod Pokemon I would use the Foe-Hold/Petrify Orb and get the HELL out of there.

If there was a lightning rod pokemon i'd just use dig as all lightningrod pokemon are weak to ground type attacks and it does 100 hp damage at a time on nearly all pokemon never mind pokemon that are weak to it

(EoD) What I do with Pikachu is use a Foe-Seal or Slumber Orb, and jump in the middle and use thunderbolt. When I level up far enough as a Charizard I simply use heat wave. Not too bad, most times. I also usually bring Dia or 'Kia, so I use their moves and it's essentially an OHKO most of the time.

Monster Houses are personally no problem for me, I use Wide Slash all the time in thoses situations. In fact, i think Monster Houses are fun. :)

October 17th, 2009, 04:47 AM
I personally carry spurn orbs for when it's a horrible monster house or Foe-Seal orbs to kill them all.

Ash493
October 17th, 2009, 10:14 AM
I really like this feature mainly in PMD Sky :D
Since I can pwn them by using Petrify Orb :D
And it gives me tons of exps :)

Trap-Eds
October 17th, 2009, 07:53 PM
Well, I use Petrify Orbs, Foe-Hold Orbs, fight 'em all one by one, a powerful move that hits them all, or escape.

And if none of those work, groan in frustration.

Foe-Fear Orb + Blast Burn = epic pwnage.

I never really counter attacks on monster house. I always bring Foe-Hold, Petrify, or Spurn Orb to stops their movements/warp them. I attack only when I need some experiences. XD

Monster houses make up for their hardness by having the best music in the game... Nonetheless, normally use my Spinx Discharge them away. In Time, I normally used a Petrify or Spurn Orb to disfuse them. In Blue, I lost to them most of the time, because my team never had a decent counter :(

It always happens to me when I'm not prepared at all. I just bullet seed as much as possible, with my trusty Bulbasaur<3

Eisa
October 23rd, 2009, 10:29 PM
Well, I don't know what I like doing in Explorers of Sky yet especially since I'm a different Pokemon lol, but I would have my Bulbasaur put all the Pokemon around her to sleep xD And then my partner Pikachu use Discharge...although I hate the stupid lightningrod bit. >.< But sleep and then lots of bullet seed/vine whip moves xD

Pyrax
October 24th, 2009, 09:07 AM
I either..

Go into a hall and fight them one by one.
Use a Foe Fear Orb.
Use Vacuum Cut.

In one instance I stepped into several monster houses on the same floor.

Moves AND Items?
Items - I'd use a Petrify Orb and kill the enemies I need to kill.

Moves - Basically any move that hits everyone.

I would use earthquake, it mostly hits. : (

I fight my way out like a man.

I didn't really have any roomwide moves to use, see. ;D

Mostly just petrify orb then kill them all slowly and painfully.

VantonnageShipper
November 3rd, 2009, 08:34 PM
I usually just use a foe-seal orb and then attack one pokemon at a time

Heart's Soul
November 3rd, 2009, 10:20 PM
Foe-Seal Orbs, then I let Pikachu use Thunderbolt (partner, I'm a Riolu, I just OHKO them)

November 6th, 2009, 05:17 AM
No-ones mentioned this yet... My brother always used to use Agility, then he and his partners would just dash straight through them, killing them before they could move. Was a farily effective strategy. After seeing it work so well for him I used to bring a partner with agility in RRT so they could speed me up when I needed it. These days I just use plain tactics and what's already been mentioned by others.

Ash493
November 6th, 2009, 01:49 PM
Yeah Agility is good idea...
But what is great also is Dark Pulse.
Because of its one-tile-away range :)

Have Porygon2 start up with Agility to boost Porygon-Z, who then procedes to Nasty-Plot and Discharge. Meheheheheheheheh...
