I'm only On for a few mins, but, thats not Oaks place, that is a team rocket hideout! Actually, oak will be a playable character in this game! (Only for short while...) Also, the RTP has to do with The rocket hideout, not oaks place. Actually, the way the game will work, is that the story will be introduced, your life will be shown, and what is going on around the pokemon world will be shown (By playing the events out) and then you will play the real story. Summing that up. The first portion of the game introduces you to the story. After the first town you are in, you proceed to the true pokemon adventure. Rocket will play a big part in this games story. Also, that is actually REAL oak, the black and white was done purposly, for lighting purposes. I may add a little more color to the scene, but I am not sure. This game will be very story based, and there will be alot of cutscene type things within it. (Read the news on the website if you would like to help! I need a few people to help me on this one!)

I can't really explain more, without revealing the story, so, sorry, guess you will just have to stare at the pics and make your own decisions, but, thats all I can reveal about the screens preety much. Again, if you would like to help, read the news on the site, and get the info, and maybe you could help. The game is going good as an alone project, but 2-3 people more could help. I need someone to do a title, someone to do a hoenn region(no events, I could do those) and a Pokemon Stat-ologist, meaning they know how strong a move is, moves and levels a move is learned at, ect.. Also, maybe they could help develop my CBS, which is actually close to done, but, is having only a few issues. Thanx. Remember, visit the site for more info!

Well, everything's alright about the CBS except for the fact that the pokemon are
facing the wrong direction. I'm sure there was an attachment with all the pokemon
that was posted. Don't you have any plans to use the group battle system though?

I don't really understand the group battle system (Surprisingly), so, I've given up all hope of using it. Also, that was an early edition of the cbs. The new version has that corrected.

Hey people, check out the title screen of the game, its in my Sig! Also, I'd like to announce, that a new feature has been implimented into my game, called Trainer Center, where you can Buy, Sell, Trade (Items or Pokemon) Battle in Random Tournaments, Or Bet on (Yes, I said Bet) battles. The Game is making preety good progress, considering school has caused me to only be able to work on the game during weekends. Note to everyone: I'm looking for someone to do a Hoenn region for my game, so, if you would like to make one (no events required), or have a game with the Hoenn Region, that has been canned, or they would like to merge with mine, by all means, join up! I don't really understand the group battle system (Surprisingly), so, I've given up all hope of using it. Also, that was an early edition of the cbs. The new version has that corrected.
It is good that you have given up on the old version, the new one is very near. I remembered some other things which need to be fixed like level and HP display (in numbers)..
I don't remember too well, did the old version have a test map? The new one does and it has a whole heap of stuff on it to help you add events, the variables are named to help you add your own things in, and I am gonna work on a few readme's. Good luck with your game, the title screen looks good.
If you still need that underwater chipset, Rm2k3kid posted one a while ago in the resources thread. I don't know of any games with maps from Hoenn yet.. Sorry

Oh, again with the screen, that just how it uploaded, not how it exactly is. P.S. I called it "Pokemon of the Wood", because the new Region I've added to the game is Called, Birchwood. The game will encompass all of the former regions, and also this one. Right now though, I am looking for someone that could do a Hoenn Region (doesn't have to have events if someone did it, actually, preferred), so I could continue work on the Birchwood Region. The demo will be up when both Hoenn and Birchwood are completed, as they both are important to the story. If someone does a Hoenn for me, I predict a demo by X-mas. If not, probably, Feb. Also, I've just added some new pics on the site (in the past few mins) including the Birchwood Region map, check it out!

I've added Two new pics on the website, showing off the second town in the game, Scarlet Town. I will add two new pics for each town once a month, for now on, until a demo is released. Check out the site, its in my sig. I've made alot of updates, as over the past two weeks, alot of work has gone into the game.

Wow, a really good collections of screens.. i like your idea of trainer center and all that.. but 1 thing came to my mind.

You know the birchwood region map.. i looks strangely familiar.. very similar to GTA Vice City Map. Oh well.. your game looks good.. keep up the good work! :)

Maybe I'll get it, but there alot of games coming out/out I want (Call of duty, finest Hour, Lord ot Rings Third age, Prince of Persia Warrior Within, Nintendo DS, THUGS 2, NFSU 2, Mario Tennis, Goldeneye: Rouge Agent.) So, I don't think I'll get it right away, if I do. I'll probably wait for the price to drop.

Updating: I've been working out technical things and glitches this weekend, fine tuning the game. I've also been working on a few Routes. I'm at this time, trying to peice together the game, and make it flow a little better. Progress has been slowing down though, due to a few issues with some chipsets only showing the upper layer, and some technical things that I thought would be easy to fix, that took longer to fix, than expected. I'm still now, more than ever, looking for mappers, if anyone would like to help with the project. Also, I am willing to merge my project with someone elses, to allow for a bigger POTW Universe, if anyone would like to do this, to expand the team. So, if anyone is losing hope for their game, and would like to revitalize it, contact me, and we can work together on it, and on POTW, if you understand that. I'm still holding firm on a Jan 30th Demo release, but, things have been slowing up, leading me to question that a little, without mapping help. Oh, and check out the site, added a pic of Rt. H.

I'm kinda on the fence with this rule. One one hand, it's in direct violation of one of PC's main rules. On the other hand, it's not advertising a forum (which is why the rule exists).

Back when I joined PC (gosh, years ago...) I was pretty pissed off at how all the mods would blindly follow the rules just because they were there without understanding the reason for why they are. So I made a big "speech." Ah... memories. So no, I'm not going to do anything about it.

Hey guys and gals, today, I worked on a weather system, and its done! I'm proud to say, so, check out the site, I have a pic up! (The lines are just how the pic uploaded, its actually rain) Notice the drops on the water! This is supposed to be a full fledged storm, so, leaves fly by, raindrops show up on water, thunder, lightning, the works. Its cool. It even gets darker for storms!

unfortunatly, can't do that. Obviously, the people that don't care and aren't willing to spend 30 secs to sign up, are either lazy, or don't deserve to see the video, or obviously don't care enough to see the video. And, if you don't care, then, I don't want you to see the video anyways. Its you're loss. (I'm really in a bad mood tonight, so, accepting no BS Comments tonight)
I don't see how it's our loss. The idea of releasing a video is to generate interest in your game, so you should want us to see it. I'm not signing up to any smaller forums just to boost the member count. Either post the video here or you've wasted your time making it.

Guess Whos back??? Pokemon of the Wood is! I've re-taken control of the project, and am now in a comfortable postition to begin work again, from where I last left off. GOTS will be in no way affected by this move. I'm waiting for some graphics to be done (which could be a while) and, then I'll continue with that, pausing this. My solution, is to swap back and forth between the two, and work on them both evenly. So, Horray, POTW is back!

I didn't see all of the game cause some files were missing. But from what I saw,I really liked it. Especially the music! It was not only Pokemon music,for example some of it were from Zelda Oot!

I didn't get to see much of the battle system either(missing files),but from what I saw it looks a lot like the one in Pok�mon Lunar. But if you'll get it to work I'm sure this game will become great!

The original progress made the game look not so good. However, as I went through the topic and got up to where this game is at now, I've seen a lot of progress and it really looks like this will be yet another great game. Good sprites.

Finally, an update, because it needed to be done. I will not have a set release date for this game, but, setbacks (losing staff, school, home, work, etc) should push the Demo release back to around June. (Yes, its a while, but, could be sooner, could be later) I want to get Everything Right before I release a Demo. I only have 3 more towns/cities to complete, and quite a few Routes/caves etc... I expect the entire Birchwood Region Maps to be done within the next couple of months, including Interiors. Any other questions, post here or at my forum. Trust me, the game is going well right now. (Heltes Town is so cool!) Also, on a final note, I'm fixing up the first town in the game (some may have seen the Original Screen). I just feel that it doesn't fit the overall "vibe" of POTW.

Just have to stick with the Heltes town Pics I revealed around X-mas. At this time, I am fixing up some lose ends, and designing the layout for a new town (on paper). When I get that town completed, I'll upload a pic. (Probably this weekend (2 days))

Added One Screen to the Site. Just shows a Route Between Crystalline Cave and Heltes Town (Oops, shouldn't have said that)well, I guess I'll get screens of Crystalline Cave up eventually, the mapping for it is Insane( the place is huge, 4 floors, a legendary will be located here, 4th floor is Ice, Bottom two floors 75% water, with waterfalls, 3rd floor is a labrynth.) Designing the Cave alone has taken a few months, to piece everything together. On another note, I have been working on the betting System at trainer Center. If anyone wants to be a random trainer at the Trainer Center, give a pic of your character (in battle) out of battle, and the name of you're pokemons used. Then, list what you would like to be doing (betting, fighting, trading, buying, etc...)
