Britney and her new husband Kevin Federline have jetted in to Fiji for their honeymoon on an exclusive island resort.

The couple, who exchanged vows last month but didn't formalise their marriage until last week, stepped off a private jet at Nadi airport on Monday.

They were dressed casually, with leis draped around their necks and carrying plastic shopping bags.

The diva and her dancer husband then transferred to a sea plane and were whisked away to their private hideaway on Turtle Island.

The island, the setting for the Brooke Shields movie Blue Lagoon, is a renowned resort specialising in weddings and honeymoons where the very basic lodge costs about $2700 a night.

But if the newlyweds really hoped to get away from it all, then they may have taken the option to rent the entire island - a mere $345,000 for the week.

Other celebrities who have holidayed there include Nicole Kidman, Ringo Starr, Michelle Pfeiffer and Pierce Brosnan.
