"Poison," "Badly Poisoned" (Not Toxic)?

So... what's the difference? I'm making a team of Pokemon I never get usually--this is a PvE, not PvP team (I know those terms are for MMO's, but they fit here, too, right? :P--and this Crobat learns "Poison Fang" which says "May Badly Poison" and not just "May Poison." So... what's the difference? is Poison Fang like a Toxic IN a damage move? or just a harder poison? Thanks. :P

Poison Fang can inflict Toxic status.

Regular poison inflicts steady damage, Toxic damage builds over time.

Toxic = Badly Poisoned, In addition to Poison Fang and Toxic, using Toxic Spikes twice or using Fling with the Toxic Orb cause "badly poisoned" status.

Under Badly Poisoned, it starts by taking 1/16 of total HP. Next turn it increases to 2/16, then 3/16 and so on. Switching out (3rd/4th gen) doesn't get rid of the Badly Poison status, but when the Pokemon is brought back out, it starts out at 1/16 again. (In 1st/2nd gen it became regular Poison upon switching out).

Standard Poison takes out 1/8 of total HP each turn. (1/16 in 1st gen.)
