Questions:

What is the bad egg?
Does it ever hatch?
If so, to what?
I tried putting in a code to get a torchic in my pc, and it came up as bad egg, why?
Is there a way to get bad egg without cheats or trading with someone who didnt use cheats?

I heard that it hatches into a random pokemon and take 33,200 steps to hatch. Agian that is what I heard. Also I believe the game is programmed to block out cheaters by giving them bad eggs instead of what the code is supposed to do.

no a bad egg does not hatch
it is usually the result of corrupt data either through cheating
or through some glitch while trading
or the game turning off when its not supposed to

The Bad Egg DOES hatch, and when it hatches it corrupts your save file! ^_^ But it does take an obscene amount of time to hatch (like 32000 steps).

You must have gotten a bad egg when you inputted a Cheating Code in incorrectly. You cannot get the Bad Egg without cheating, since you need to cheat to input it incorrectly XD

As for the Deoxys rumour... *Rubber stamps it as FALSE*

I got an ODD EGG from the daycare people, when I'd never put any pokemon in on that game. It hatched into an igglybuff. What's with that?

Simon
October 15th, 2004, 01:52 AM
That wouldn't even be close to 32,000 steps. You'd have to go back and forth like 10 times...

You probably won't even be able to see it. According to Adam and a few other people who've hatched their Bad Eggs, the screen just turns black with the music going on.

What about the odd egg that was in the daycare?

Mr Cat Dog
October 15th, 2004, 12:22 PM
The bad egg doesn't actually hatch. By the term hatch.. I mean it filling your data, screen turning back, and save file corrupted basically. About your odd egg Kiri... that's a new one to me.

I'm going to move this to Breeders Corner, since the RSE element of it hasn't played a big part in it.

so...if you accidentally get a bad egg, is there a way to get rid of it as to not destroy your game?

i would assume trading it to a sacrificial game then making a new one...deleting the 'Bad Egg' from the memory totally and replacing it with brand new game data.

but for that to work you would need a second copy of either RSE to sacrifice. or you could just leave it in your pc...id assume the step 'counter' wouldnt take effect if its not actually 'going anywere' if you know what i mean. or just trade it to a friends game *grins evily* and tell them that it hatches into a Deoxi or whatever they are called :) but thats just bloody mean.

trade it to your 'trade game'...u know the one were u just trade to/from to get the trade evolves and the occasional rare you can only get in that version..and wen u go to pokemon hunt on that one trade back again and keep doing it...should work i suppose

hope i made sence..i think i even confused myself there.

all up trade to someone else and let it be their problem or get in a deletable game and get rid of it that way

Or the easiest and safest thing to do is to not cheat at all. Seriously, if you're going to use a cheating device for whatever means, there has to be some consequences.

Mew42003, trust me, you don't want something that destroys your gamefile completely. That's why it's a bad egg.

It Does Hatch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It Took My Friend 134,654 Steps And It Hatched ((so Calculated By Him)) It Came Out Into A Shiny Mew ((he Did The Super Long Mew Cheat)) And There Is A Easier Way To Get A Torchic, The Catch Him In The Wild Cheat Code. What Game? And I Can Give It To You. Straight From Action Replay ((if That Is The Device Your Using)) Database.

TOOTHACHE? ANYONE? Why do you get an odd egg?

Shikon no Tama
December 5th, 2004, 09:43 PM
A bad egg? I think I may have an easy explaination for that.

1) If you have ever seen a Shadow Pokemon(one that is black or grey in shiny form) and you caught it, chances are it was a bug due to trading or just a bad glitch due to that.

2) If you used a cheat code or saw a shiny legendary, your game might respond to that as a malufuntion and might have deleted your file.

3) Or it could've been one of those action replays doing damage to your game.

Those are the only ways I know of that you might've gotten a bad egg. It occured to my worst enemy at my old complex when he used a Shiny Celebi cheat. So, if you got a bad egg and didn't do those things, then it's a mystery.

The odd egg hatches into Magby or Igglybuff or... hold on this is RSE not GS. So I'm also confused.

This is a big difference in odd eggs and bad eggs.

1) An odd egg is a little even that happens when you get to a certain point in your game, get all the stars or go something good or bad to trigger an egg to become redataed. Once that happens, an egg can become totally random and hatch into either a baby Pokemon or just at random.

2) A bad egg is when you cheat, use Action Replay or trade over from someone who has a bad egg or has used Action Replay, this making an egg a Bad Egg and causing it not to hatch for 32,000 steps and to trigger a blackened screen and the music playing or just deleting your file entirely.

So Action Replays can do that to your game? lol. *throws her action replay across the room* never using that agian... Ive never personally gotten a "bad egg" but my cousin got one once. erased his game.

Shikon no Tama
December 5th, 2004, 11:08 PM
Well if you use your Action Replay too much, your game is programed to then give you a bad egg. It's like a punishment for overusing it and cheating. I'd say if you used about 20 times then you get one, so I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Airiesca
December 5th, 2004, 11:13 PM
Ive used mine way more times than that in one game. I stopped using the cheats awhile back anyways. They kill any fun in the game. I used it mainly to whip my cousin (he is like 10 and has sooo much time to train and I don't. hehe)

What ever you do, do not hatch a Bad Egg.

It will completly freeze your game...Completly!

It doesn't hatch into anything except a glitch.

It is resulted from using to many cheats all together
or to many at one time.

This is all true. Beleive me, I've done it.

The only thing I've ever used AR for is the Walk Through Walls, lol.

Seriously though, Bad Eggs aren't worth it, so don't cheat :3
