I was a little bored so I decided to test one of the hacks in here and this one isn't actually so bad (don't like playing FireRed hacks that much) :)

I'm still at the very beginning - got "Moocow" or something like that and just asked to go to see the "rival". There are a couple of "emotion glitches" (you can already move but the script ends afterwards) but they aren't too bad. I'd fix them myself but don't think they bother that many players.

I would like to see more of a linear journey; it was difficult going through a forest and a few routes to get to a gym, and then retracing your steps back before the forest, and finding another route. The same follows with some of the action sequences. There is often a time where you might have to revisit a town, which can be somewhat repetitive. Also, some of the sprites could be done much better, however, a handful of them were really good. I enjoyed using Fauxphur, and hope that the game develops further. Great job on Hack ROM of the Year!

I'm guessing it's because of exams coming up and wanting to have more of a life, or even a girl friend. I'm not sure, but they could be the reasons.

i manged to defeat 7 gym leaders .. yet, i'm stock .. i donno what to do .. i went to the 8th gym and i couldn't enter .. there is a note on the gym door .. the leader is travelling for some sort of league business .. also , i cant enter the TV station to help the PROF .. and there is a an entrance to a jungle with team Rocket members not allowing me to enter .. and its hard to move around cuz "FLY" doesn't work at all ..
i tried searching and youtubing but there isn't any progress ..

i simply cant do anything after defeating the 7th gym leader ..

Beta 3 ends once you've beaten the seventh Gym Leader. You'll have to wait for the next one to continue the story :P

Hey, I tried to patch beta 3.1 to a Fire Red ROM, but it won't open in VBA. I used a v1.1 ROM that I dumped myself and a V1.0 ROM that I downloaded. Neither one will patch to the .IPS Patch. Please help!

I think HackMew also did this before you. Not trying to say that hes better or anything but you need to realize that this is a community so no need to get mad. I think that the OW changing script can be used to change into a Pikachu and take over the world or find Meowth and thunderbolt him;)

I haven't seen Hackmew's OW change script. But I've seen Shinyquasgire's and his happens to be different.
His uses items to be able to change sprite.
As for this by the looks you just talk to the NPC?

Noticed a few bugs when going to battle Haroun.
1/ The Mum doesn't heal your Pokemon. I went to heal after Max and my Pokemon were still the same.
EDIT: For some reason this only happened the first time.
2/ First question needs changed lol. Atm the answer to that question would, in fact, be no.
3/ Th trainers don't turn to face you when you get a question wrong (even though it was right >_>).

You can get into Colt Forest if you have the save type of Sienna set to Flash 128k. Most emulators should be able to do this, and if you want to save properly in any FireRed hack (and Pokémon games in general) you'll need to use Flash 128k anyway. Not sure what emulator you're using for psp, but it should have a menu option that lets you change save types, or at least have an easy-to-edit file for game configuration in the root folder (use your computer and Notepad to edit that). I have the exact same problem as cgj using both gpSP (for the PSP) and VBA set to 128k Flash

That's odd, I tested it on three different emulators (gpsp for gp2x wiz, vba for windows xp and vbag for Nokia N95) and I got into Colt Forest fine. In VBA, Go to Emulator -> and set it to both Flash (where Automatic used to be ticked) and Flash 128k. Reset the game afterwards for the changes to take effect. When you try to enter, you'll be greeted by a buggy looking version of the forest entry image and it will fade into the actual map.

First, let me say this is really good. Being a mapper, I love seeing other's work, and these maps are great! I really like what you did with the path tiles in Nile City, and the "nobody's home" scripts on doors was a nice touch. I really enjoyed getting the item to battle the 2nd gym, and your unconventional use of non gym locations as gyms was a cool touch. (the pokemon tower and fighting dojo). Also, the scripts have a nice level of "mature" humor, like the music guy in Nile City, to the guy who now hates me cause i didn't like his shorts, and several others (I lol'd so hard at the guy outside the 2nd gym, and the Fox ad.)

I have run in to a small snag though, i've beaten the first and second gym, and was t5old to go back to the starting town, however, I don't have cut to get rid of the tree... (i don't have any HMs actually). I'm assuming I've missed something... could you give me a little hint on what i need to do?

Again, great game, love pretty much all of it (the first gym was a little hard to navigate, maybe doing like deford gym in RSE and expanding the "light circle" would be nice...). Keep up the work, and can't wait for further releases!

If you change the settings of VisualBoy Advance (assuming you're using it because it's pretty much the best gba emulator) to match the ones I displayed in the image I posted in the spoiler earlier, then reset, you shouldn't get the message and you should save properly. Pokémon games use a different save type (Flash 128k) so you can't save properly in-game until you change the emulator to match.

Well Grumpig [and Spoink] learn the move Splash at lv 1. I believe it's because the japanese move can be translated as either splash or hop [hence why Hopip learns Splash]

Yeah, I knew that much (Buneary learns it too); but Spoink/Grumpig learn at least 4 more moves between 1 and 21, so that Splash is still in its moveset is surprising. Especially as this particular trainer awaits after I've already gotten the 4th badge.
I'm also commenting on the fact that Grumpig is 11 levels underleveled, but this far from the first underleveled, so I'm guessing its a conscious choice.

Edit: In other news, the Dark-type gym spammed ice and water type moves; I didn't encounter a single Dark-type move the entire time. How does Umbreon even learn Aurora Beam?

Anyways, I haven't downloaded this hack yet (I don't do demos, it is either the full game or nothing for me), but the KOTOR style "you can choose to be good or evil" gimmick definately will have me keeping my eye out for this hacks completion. Playing as Mr. Selfless hero who will stop evil at all costs gets very boring after awhile.

Anyways, to the guys about a page back, (Ashton and that other guy with the circuit board saving issue), did you manage to fix your problem with the game freezing at the forest? I too, play my GBA games on gpSP, and I was wondering if you finally managed to find a solution to your problems. Having to put my save file on my computer and play into the forest on another emulator, than re-saving and transferring the ROM back to my PSP emulator everytime I want to enter that forest will get really triesome really fast. Hopefully, when the full version comes out, this issue will be fixed, I understand the hack creator said he doesn't support any non-VBA emulators, but if the issue could possibly be looked into, I (and my fellow PSP emulator users) would be grateful.

It doesn't really matter to me what gym is coming up, I don't mind training Pokes early. That sucks, though. Maybe I'll have to find a replacement for a water type then.

Just started playing it about half an hour ago, here's my initial thoughts. The fact that these are incredibly minor quibbles indicates what good quality this is. The intro to Colt Path with the flunkies doesn't shake for me when it probably should be shaking - it jumps back and forth about half a screen diagonally every few seconds. Wild fortraceans should probably start out with an offensive move, especially when they can be encountered before their preevolution. They don't seem to be an intermediate form like a metapod, so a growl-only moveset is a bit inappropriate. I'm a little unsure about the game-balance implications of getting razor leaf at level 6. I suppose it *is* the bread and butter grass attack, but still feels a little weird. EDIT: What the heck? I can't create newlines on this forum? That's bizarre.

thing is, I was in this village, i think it was described as the dead-end town of the region. i tried to fly somewhere, but all i got was a blue screen with the sprite's head/icon, and the cursor scrolling left to right uncontrollably until i had to load and old savestate.

dude, I wanted to say that this is quite possibly the best hack I've ever played, only contested with Ruby Destiny. Except I rage quit late in the game because of the bugs, namely the Byan City freezing and the fact that if you use fly a lot the game will freeze is you use it later. Mostly it was the fly glitch but can you please address that. It's a huge problem and I know I am not the only person that feels this way.

I'm not going to get everyone's hopes up... but the entire of Voultan may or may not be finished :). I've had the Orange Islands in place as a after-league adventure as a request from the Pokémon Academy you get into for around two years and I started some maps on it a while ago and I need some advice on whether you guys would actually be interested in the Orange Islands or not.

What's going to happen is I'll watch an anime episode or something and then re-map the islands and routes based on my thoughts on them. Here's an example of Sunburst Island that involves the Crystal Onix side-quest:

Your hack is compatible with Gameboid on Android phones. Alot of other ROMs here aren't.

Played for a good hour without crashes, the game doesn't save but Gameboid has save states.

I've been reading up on the previous posts, and i adore the fact that you put team Rocket into that, deeply appreciated. but i have a quick concern/question about this team Enigma that you were thinking about, i know it seems a bit late in but why not add Enigma as a side source much like they did in the Pokemon games of Ruby and Sapphire? But instead of mortal enemies, they could be in Co-hoots with one another with a common goal, yet Enigma could be more Evil, going for the case of Destroying the fixed era of Rocket being the main force, but to become even worse later on? Also, did my research on Rocket, they are either black with red, or White with red, so a color for Enigma might have to be a bit more out there, Perhaps a mix of Orange and Blue with black? But i digress, i love the fact that it is a "Pokemon Game" with retrospect of everything that has ever been done and is considered a classic game. So Kudos on what has been done because it all looks so Great!

I've gotten to a certain point in the game where you get to pick one evolutionary stone out of a list and the dawn stone isn't in that list so I don't think it's in the game at all.. Eventhough anything might be possible..

Also Phanpy only learns Flail on 17 and nothing else in between 10 and 21, I'll level mine to see whether it is actually bugged or not.

Also, I'm still wondering about the shiny Larvitar, I've been all through the route but no luck so far, can anyone specify where exactly the tile is? And does it work with Max Repels on (since it's an event and not a random encounter)

So I downloaded the beta and have to say that I'm liking it so far, but one thing is bothering me. I'm very interested in joining Team Rocket (I haven't read the entire thread so I don't know if its been answered yet or not) but when does it allow you to choose? I've gotten my third badge and just beat Team Rocket in one of the towns and got the old amber. Has this aspect been incorporated yet? To be honest, it was the only thing that made me curious enough to download the beta.

This is a great hack, I'm having more fun than I did with the main series games :D I really like the fakemon and the well-structured RPG feel.

At the moment I have a bunch of questions:

1. Where can I find a Mallmag (rubber ducky) and a Chartail (orange-yellow bird)?
2. Is it possible to get an amulet coin?
3. Is there a department store where I can get TMs?
4. Is there a list of sprites that I can find on the web somewhere?
5. Is the development halted, and if so is it permanent? I got to the town with the well and when I tried to fly crashes the game... This really needs a fix

I think what Manipulation is saying is that you said that MOST hacking tools aren't usable with the ROM, when, according to Manipulation, ALL hacking tools are not usable. That's what I interpreted it as.

Anyway, I'd say good luck with your hack, but it seems that you'v already finished it. XD Anyway, I will be waiting patiently for when/if you release it. This is a favourite hack of mine, and it'd be good to see how much effort you've put into it. :D

I really like this hack (the main reason I joined this site lol). Although it's really fun, I find it annoying that I can't use fly, or the pokenav.... I know I downloaded/installed everything right b/c I went to a youtube video to show me how haha.

Despite it being 100% done and 100% tested I'm not going to release it today because people will be too sceptical because of the date and all that jazz. So... I'm going to release it on Wednesday as it's a date special to me. If you don't want to wait that long and aren't sceptical of the date then PM me and I'll send you link to the Beta Testing version of Sienna (note: some bugs still exist in that version). i hope i'm not too late for feedback! i have just realized a problem with some fakemon.

First of all, i really loved all of them and i have put as many of them as possible in my team. The thing is that during the game i realized that they were kinda weak and after some quick "investigation" i realized that most of their stats don't match their type.

Let me explain... fluffow, being an ice type (special attack type till gen 3) has much more attack than sp. attack, therefore its utily decreases a lot being that its own elemental attacks always become the weakest in its pool. It also learns muddy water which is really useful, but same thing happens, and only Take Down makes a really good damage. My fluffow is lv. 38...

Same thing happens with almost every fakemon :(

I have just caught a kelpony, and even though it's water/grass type (both special) it has much higher attack than sp. attack. The exact same thing happens to my lv. 36 eliphreeze, with 90 attack and 69 sp. atk.; Talush lv 31 with 66 atk adn 46 sp. atk; lv 34 insomb with 108 atk adn 84 sp. atk (being fire/dark, both special).

with squirrox (normal/psychic) and bouldotem (rock/psychic), the thing is that they also have greater atk tah sp atk, therefore their psichic skills get really reduced... this is mostly a problem in squirrox, whose psychic attacks are the main reason why i (and i guess everyone else) wanted it in the team and trained it (after, of course, the eagerness to "see how it came out").

I really hope this is just a quick fix you can do before the final release (i propouse that you invert their atk adn sp. atk stats, nothing else!). Ii really enjoy trying new pokemon out and yours were really excellent! I'd really like it if i could make a whole team of Sienna-exclusive pokemon :) BTW, fortracean is my strongest pokemon, and his stats are jus cool.

Hope you get my feedback, you have made the greatest hack i played so far! I congratulate you and anxiously wait for this awesome release!

I just want to know will the final version of sienna have fakemon? I'm really praying it doesn't but i'll be fine with it if it does include them.

i'm sorry to tell you that there's a major bug with fly on this hack. At the begining i could use it few times, but now every time i try to do that, my game crashes. You should save every time before selecting fly... sadly, i don't know any way to get out of the blue screen. I guess you should restart and save A LOT next time... and that's ALWAYS a good advice when it comes to hacks.

It's not about him being lazy, he has a life, as do the rest of us. Also, it's not april fools unless it's april 1st, and it's the 5th at the time I'm posting. I say we all just give him time. Maybe, just maybe, he's getting ready to post it in the next 24 hours (don't hold me on that)
P.S: Most of you wouldn't even be bugging him if he didn't give us a release date, and he could have just released it on a set date, without any notice. (which is what I would do in a time like this) Anyways, just give him time.

How hard is it to just come online and upload a very small file? It would only take a couple of minutes, we are not talking about something that takes hours and hours to do. I have to agree with Damned to an extent to be honest. Manipulation probably shouldn't have said a release date to be honest, and it is two days overdue now. And as Damned said, Manipulation has logged into PC both Wednesday and Thursday. :\ The last I heard he was fixing some bugs though, so I guess something could have gone wrong, but I am starting to lose hope. :\
