Definitely when Uxie and Mesprit used Future Sight in DP151.
The Future Sight hit the back of J's ship and caused the engines to malfunction.
Her ship sank into Lake Valor, only to blow into smithereens underwater seconds later.
I dunno about you, but that's the first time I've seen a serious potential death to a human in Pokemon.
I'm saying potential cause no one knows for sure if J actually died.
Even when you KNOW there is no way she could've survived that.. but you know how the anime is. :x

there have been a few.
That toxicroak scene is 1.
Then when Pikachu fought that Raichu that could use volt tackle (an earlier D/P ep) & raichu used it's tail to hold pikachu to a rock by it's throat & hyper beamed it's face.

I also watched the episode in which Toxicroak PWNed t3h ass of Croagunk .
Apart from the explosion of the ship in the episode in which J died , that seemed the most brutal thing I've ever seen in Pokemon !

Though it didn't happen, When Ash fought the Bug Catcher in Viridian forest, he imagined Pinsir cutting his Metapod in half.
Then of course there was the insane Rhyhorn that was eating those Pinkin berries. That pink Rhyhorn was horrible.

From the world of the manga, I gotta say Green's Charmeleon cutting Koga's Arbok in two. Or Deoxys piercing Aero's wings, that was pretty brutal as well.
The brawl from the first movie was fairly intense as well.

4. charizard seismic tossed articuno looked painfull
5. abamasnow slammed grotles head into the snow completely curshing him
6. garchomp brick breaking torterras head
7. super clone charizard stomps charizard into the dirt
8. enteir stomped on charizards neck
9. after being defeated by suicune, onix wakced tyranitar into the sea

I don't really know about the anime but there's a ton of violence in the manga: Arbok being decapitated, Norman being burned to death (he comes back to life but still), Marge being crushed in a land slide, Yellow taking a bonemerang to the stomach, are the most brutal things I can think of.

Not in that case, the Arbok in question got better. In the same chapter there's a Psyduck zombie that I recall quite vividly, though.

Finally, I'm not the only one that thinks so. At first I thought that I worried too much about the antagonist's feelings, but then I realized that my thoughts were perfectly fine. I don't have anything against Ash, but I think we need some other character to teach him so he wouldn't be so harsh on Team Rocket.

It really is impossible to answer correctly this as it's impossible to remember every single battle from every single pokemon episode/movie created,.
Saying that remember Raichu beating up Pikachu quite badly in Lt Surge gym near the start of the Kanto anime.

I think i remember that epp. was the SS Anne upside down?
i was watching Pokemon this morning and i saw ash getting crushed by Drapion and pikachu pounced on its eyes ( i think it was scratching them) and drapion didn't let go so ash kicked drapion in the other eye. i was a little shocked to see a permanently damaging injury given out by ash himself.
and in that very same episode J's salamance caused a bush fire and shot hyper beams at ash.

There was this one 2nd-gen episode where a Dragonite turns evil and ravages a forest. It does some other psycho things such as slapping Ash's Pikachu in the face, slamming a Dragonair to the ground, taking out a Charizard (I think it was Ash's), and spewing hyperbeams all around. It was so cool, I even made an amv out of it.

I forgot about what Azelf and Mesprit did. Come to think of it, I don't think I even like them near as much as I used to. I'm sorta starting to hate wild Pokémon to death (not in Ranger or Mystery Dungeon, though.) They are (usually, but with exceptions) cold, mean, unfeeling, and inconsiderate (to humans.) Everyone (in the anime) cares about them more than they do fellow humans or captured Pokémon. I wish Team Rocket would successfully steal a wild Pokémon, especially a mean one. I'm awfully sorry if I offend anyone, and I'm upset with myself for typing this. I was way too harsh, but why hasn't any character pointed out that what Uxie Mesprit did was wrong?

I kinda like the Pokemon Zombies rotting away in the manga, myself. Maybe not violent, but that was more brutal images than the anime would show. And of course the Arbok getting cut in half was just kick ass.
Lets look up the word 'violent' in the dictionary...
Hmm...

I love the Elite Four's kind of violence. Lorelei surprised me at how she wanted to pretty much kill all of them, and she wanted that Pikachu, and she was going to go out of her way to kill it, even going as far as to kill others if she had to.
****ing awesome.

The moment I saw the thread title, I thought of this. Dang, that could have killed Croagunk! ;_;
I've not seen the episode where the Lake Trio 'kill' J. I suppose I should.
I thought it was pretty horrid in the Jirachi film where Butler was torturing Jirachi to keep its eye open. That was horrid. ;_;
This thread has taught me that it's a good thing I don't read the manga. ;_;

I have to agree that that was incredibly disturbing. It took me completely by surprise.
If the manga counts, the Arbok getting chopped in half is the most violent thing ever. This is even more disturbing when you take into account the fact that one of the good guys did it. Sure, he was trying the kill them, but still.

When someone say that Pokemon is a kids' show, one who had stuck to the series could remember some of the most violent animal fighting ever witnessed in anime history.
I remembered Charizard giving Blaine's Magmar that Seismic Toss. I thought it was brutal, as seeing that Charizard really flew Magmar that far and brought it back to crust. Ugh.

Oh, goodness! I remember seeing that Seismic Toss and thinking it looked reeeaally painful! I remember in the same episode where one of Ash's Pokemon fell into the magma. I remember thinking it couldn't possibly have survived it! D8

What im saying now isnt what a pokemon has done, but its what it could do...
In " Cream of the Couagunk crop" Brocks croagunk used brick break and chopped straight through a stack of 10 bricks....
now thing about a pokemon being brick breaked... it would shatter their skull..

Speaking of the first movie, Mewtwo Strikes Back, I think the most violent thing that a Pokémon has done was when Mewtwo blew up the whole New Island, killing all the scientists on it. ;_;

I do wonder about some Pokemon moves, Brick Break being a fine example of a move with the potential to be very damaging.
For some reason, I've always found the move Psycho Cut sounds quite threatening. It just seems like a horrid move.
Mewtwo attacking those scientists was horrible, yes!
Thinking about Mewtwo's reminded me of yet another thing; though this time, though it involved Mewtwo, it was a human thing. Slightly off-topic, I know, but I thought it was horrid in Mewtwo Returns when Gio tried to force Mewtwo to subject to his will and trying to defy the machine almost got it killed!
Now, Arceus Film spoilers:
When all the Pokemon violently attack Arceus and nearly kill it with their electric attacks. Now that was horrid. >_<
Speaking more on Pokemon potential - in Ash's Gym Battle against Brock, when Onix uses wrap on Pikachu. Frankly, that could be disastruous (<<-spelling??)! I thought it looked horrid then, but it could easily squash or crush anything.
Psychic Pokemon, I've found, have the potential for quite horrid acts.
Another - and probably the last thing; the third film - The Unown have quite terrifying powers, don't you think? As well as this, I found Molly Hale's fake Pokemon terrifyingly strong. Watching her battles with Brock and I was about to write Hermione XD Misty was scary.
I suppose that's it for now. I bet our friends over at Pokemopolis would love this thread

I remember in the manga with the ruby/sapphire series, the guy at the end (forgot his name) was choking Winona with a Tentecruel and burned the seals off Wallace's Pokeballs. Also, Red getting killed (his team, not the actual Red) by Deoxys in the FR/LG saga. The mangas tend to be more violent, not kid directed.

Well.....In the first movie the pokemon trying to kill each other.... But the first thing I thought of when I saw this thread was the episode were ash battled giovanni and every time the opponents pokemon got hit with an attack the trainer can feel their pokemons pain. Giovanni tore pikachu up and ash was on the ground screaming in agony....(in case no one remembers I think it was the episode were team rocket stole togepi and tried to give it to giovanni and when he asked what it was good for and Jessie didn't know and she said a paperweight XD)

Sure, it's a necropost but, the last two moves used in DP147 against Lyra and Khoury are worth mentioning... First was that Flame wheel against Chikorita after it got supercharged certainly caused it to fly, and came to a stop on it's face. Followed by that Mach Punch used on Totodile... Actually, it was funny to see it do that corkscrew through the air.
Also as some of you mentioned, the destruction and death by Mewtwo at the beginning of The First Movie.
Then the battle against Sho's Raichu in DP074 was pretty crazy... Raichu knocks back Pikachu until it's weak enough, then, WHAP. Pikachu is pinned to a tree (I think?) by his neck by Raichu's tail and eats a Hyper Beam... To the face.
In Great Bowls of Fire, that Dragonite rampage was pretty violent.
PlatinumDude
