I come with the assumption that at least one administrator came to a decision of thirty six characters maximum for names. I'm just wondering why such an apparently arbitrary number?
If there's no particular reason or if the admins didn't choose it (coding limitation or somesuch?) so be it.

I am not asking for the limit to be changed... because chances are someone's going to take it that way, somehow, possibly even if I say this.

All forms usually have a 36 character spacing for first names.

As in triple barrelled names.. blahblahblah-hehehehehehe-moomoomoo
A single name can have 11 characters triple that, then add the hyphens.

When they say "a picture says a thousand words", they weren't lying:

I'm not joking though - that will happen. (I could just turn on word wrap, but then double-liner names would be… ick.) You're right though - it's very, very arbitrary.

You think I didn't know the thread was for me?

Actually, that was a very, very big coincidence. (http://tf2wiki.net/w/images/b/be/Announcer_cart_attacker_finalwarning5.wav) >> <<
