Please rate my team and tell me any changes/improvements I can make to help me beat the Elite 4! [currently playing on Sapphire]
Ninetails lvl41
FIRE SPIN
CONFUSE RAY
SAFEGUARD
FLAMETHROWER
KYOGRE lvl48 [most likely will keep him in lineup]
BODY SLAM
WATERFALL
ICE BEAM
HYDRO PUMP
HARIYAMA [Makit] lvl36
EARTHQUAKE
STRENGTH
VITAL THROW
SURF
MANECTRIC lvl42
SPARK
THUNDERWAVE
THUNDERBOLT
BITE
SWAMPERT lvl38
ROCK SMASH
TAKE DOWN
DIVE
BLIZZARD
SWELLOW lvl31 [eep, needs training]
FLY
WING ATTACK
AERIAL ACE
STEEL WING
------------------
I think Swellow should be replaced with a diff PKMN, but which one? I don't know. So, erm I am not asking for a rating, but what should I switch/change about my team so I can beat the E4?
NOTE: Don't say I need training -- I KNOW I DO AND I AM

Try to get your Pokemon into the 50's at least, the movesets forum is more for what you do AFTER the Elite 4, for challenging other human players.

Heh, yeah, I KNOW, but what about switching/changing any pokemon?! Dont you think Swellow should be replaced with something else, but what?
EDIT: Flying-type attacks aren't really useful for battling the E4, are they?

These guys are right. The Pokemon are good, but you do need to level them up a bit more.
Ian
October 24th, 2004, 01:12 AM
So, I don't really need to change any pokemon with any other pokemon? I have all the right pokemon in my lineup -- now just training? Wow...? xD *needs confirmation*

It's good. Make sure Kyogre learns some good Ice attacks, and you should do well. I beat all the elite 4 with just my kyogre!
Ian
October 24th, 2004, 01:15 AM
Wow, talk about lucky! :)
Erm, Kyogre has Ice Beam and Swampert has Blizzard, what other type of Ice-attacks are there? What are their names...and where can I get them?

Lol, don't overdo it with the ice attcks. That ice beam should be good enought. Also, make sure one of your party members knows Thunder.
Ian
October 24th, 2004, 12:45 PM
Yes, Manectric will be learning Thunder here soon, after he levels up a bit. (it's a learnt attack at lvl45) ^^
So Swellow or Ninetails shouldn't be switched?! I just looked through the Pokemon Recommendations in my players guide and I dont see anywhere where you use fire-type attacks. o_O Grr......
Wait, maybe I do... for Steven's Metagross and Skarmory... Hmm.... gah!

To save yourself from extreme misery if you ever even considered competitive battling...

There's a move Kyogre learns called Sheer Cold. It only has a 30% chance to hit, but if it does, it's an instant KO. I believe there are items and moves that can increase the accuracy of Ice Type moves. You're team is excellent, just do what everyone else said and level them up. That way you should have no problem taking down the Elite 4.

Well i would shame
but misery works
Well it would help u become a better trainer and as a consequence a better battler
So that u won't put 2 moves of the same type on one pokemon
eg manectric with spark and thunderbolt
and so that u would understand what are each pokemons strengths and how to use them
eg - u put body slam on kyroge which makes no sense
and much,much more
Ian

Body Slam came with Kyogre o_O

Kyorge can learn Thunder? That would be a wise move to learn due to the constant rain (meaning thunder's accuracy is bumped up to 100%).

Yes it can........as a result not even water types can stand up to this wet dude.

especially since he gave exact lvl values for each.

I wonder why it rules other opponents???
Maybe its the cheap 00ber kyorge??
I wonder............
So lets exclude Kyorge for a moment: 3 of those pokemon are done with grass moves[2 of them with a 4x weakness], and blaziken and raichu are done to anything faster than them with earthquake to its name <cough>aerodactyle<cough>
And as for kyorge any Physical sweeper or shedinja can deal with it..
As for the rest of the post i'll let someone deal with you..........i'm way to tired...

And which opponents would it be ruling? Ones that can kill water types pretty easily?

Ice demon you're REALLY ticking me off... *tries not to go on a cussing spree*
You are SO critical, I am asking for CONSTRUCTIVE CRITISM not MEAN critism.
Ok thanks... Just leveling up. I am getting some help w/ my moves and switching them around so it's right. Geez... -_-

And there's no better way for the two of you to prove a point without setting up a semi-decent team (for now, the two of you has some rather silly suggestions that's best to be ignored should that person plan to competitive battle.) How hard can it be to beat the ingame trainers that you need specific Pokemon? Just high level, and let even Pokemon like Beautifly single-handedly sweep the entire Elite 4...
As for the quote, yeah I guess that it's only 90% true... Some truths are worth celebrating about, yet within the realm of strategy and gameboy games in PC, it's definitely 100% true. The more it seems "insulting" to you, the more likely it's the way to go. Afterall, we don't netbattle with nothing. Or try to netbattle any of us and test whose skills come out top.

If Kyogre has thunder, then Manectric is next to useless. Actually, Kyogre by itself can sweep most of the elite 4, just bring lots of elixers along so you don't run out of moves. The only problem may be Glacia because her Pokemon have a tendency to use hail, thus wiping out Kyogre's main advantage. Hariyama as backup, especially if it has thick fat, is great. I forget, did yours have brickbreak?
Ian
October 29th, 2004, 12:21 AM
I have that TM... But haven't used it. Shall I teach it to Hariyama?

Hariyama[adamant]@leftovers
EVs - hp, def, Att
whirlwind
toxic
knock off

it works.............too bad u don't have access to the FRLG move tutors
could have done alot more..........at least u won't run into gengar
but skarm is still a threat.

Yeah, but the in game trainer, if they're lucky enough to be programmed with a skarm, would be overly mentally challenged to use it correctly and they'd be all "OMG SKARM HAS SWIFT FLY PECK STEEL WING WTF I WIN" and you'd be like "HA HA YOU LOSE" And they'd be like "OMG I AM ONLY THE IN GAME WTF YOU DIDNT USE STRATEGY AT ALL"

if, God forbid, they have some skill and also have skarm this set would be screwed.
