As topic says, I need some help with raising my team. just note that the order ive written them down and their movesets are not the order that i use them.

i need some help in movesets, EVs (as i dont know how to even find out what my pokemon's EVs are...), stats and items... i really need to remove the 10% boosters and amulet coin so i need help there..
my pokemon are not maxed out nither they are on lvl 100. im keeping them to what they are now so i can train them properly to lvl 100 nicely. rite now they in average are all on level 52.17. since they're not on lvl 100 i wont post the stats but if u want me to i will.

Gardevior - lv52 @ Jolly nature & Synchronize - Magnet
Psychic
Thunderbolt
Flash
Hypnosis

Blaziken - lv51 @ Docile nature & Blaze - Charcoal
Overheat
Bulk Up
Focus Punch
Blaze Kick

Crobat - lv51 @ Lonely nature & Inner Focus - Amulet Coin
Fly (i find this move very effective for battles so i dont want to remove it even though its only 70-95 in power and accuracy)
Poison Fang
Return (dont wanna remove this too cos it deals LOTSA damage)
Wing Attack

Aggron - lv53 @ Jolly nature & Rock Head - Quick Claw (its speed is only 82)
Strength
Take Down (i didnt find the TM to Double Edge...)
Earthquake
Iron Defense

Walrein - lv52 @ Modest nature & Thick Fat - Mystic Water
Surf
Blizzard
Waterfall
Dive (60-100... close to fly....)
(its kinda my hm slave but waterfall and dive got to go)

Shiftry - lv54 @ Serious nature & Chlorophyll - Leftovers
Giga Drain
Shadow Ball
Solarbeam
Sunny Day
(my best moveset)

i its kinda weak and my Walrein needs LOTS of help. this is my team on Ruby. not on a rom or netbattle. im gonna use this team for netbattle too after i download it. right now its just used to beat my friends. i need some help with my Crobat maybe... its something... something... weak... cept for Fly and Return which work excellent for me.

so.. er... what can u help me with on this team?

Let's see - Gardevior - gotta get rid of Flash...

Gardevior@Lum/Petaya Berry
EV: 252 Sp Att, 252 Speed, 6 Sp Def
Nature: + Sp Att, - Att
Psychic
Calm Mind
Thunderbolt
Destiny Bond

Blaziken - keep Overheat, the rest has to go...

Blaziken@Salac Berry
EV: 252 Att, 252 Speed, 6 Sp Def
Overheat
Swords Dance
Brick Break/Double Kick
HP Ghost/Rock Slide

Crobat@Lum Berry
EV: 252 Speed, 252 Att, 6 Def
Nature: + Speed, - Sp Att
Return
Shadow Ball
Aerial Ace
HP Fighting

Aggron - level him up a few more levels, he learns Double-Edge naturally. And it's not a TM, but a Move Tutor move from FR/LG.

Aggron@Liechi Berry
EV: 252 Att, 129 HP, 129 Def
Nature: + Att, - Sp Att
Rock Slide/Earthquake
HP Steel
Double-Edge
Swords Dance

Walrein - scrap everything apart from Surf:

Walerin@Chesto Berry
EV: 252 Sp Att, 129 HP, 129 Sp Def
Rest
Ice Beam
Encore
Surf

Works wonders for me

Shiftry@Lum Berry
EV: 252 Sp Att, speed up to 198, rest in HP
Sunny Day
Solarbeam
HP Fire
Torment

Minor annoyance factor, otherwise somewhat standard sunnybeamer

Hmm.... I would have put Sludge Bomb on there somewhere for Crobat, cause it gets STAB and might poison. Maybe instead of the Hidden Power, but that's just a personal preference. I trained my Crobat alot, and Sludge Bomb always works wonders for me.

Toothache

Good point with the Sludge Bomb. Might be wise to lose Aerial Ace or HP Fighting for SB, but I like having a way to deal with Rock/Steel types. I'd rather lose AA for Sludge Bomb.

Crobat@Lum Berry
EV: 252 Speed, 252 Att, 6 Def
Nature: + Speed, - Sp Att
Sludge Bomb
Shadow Ball
Aerial Ace
HP Fighting

Sludge Bomb does more damage then return anyways against everything thats not ghost/poison/steel, the other 3 attacks can take those opponents down :)

my crobat needs a lil more something annoying..... i went with fly cos it annoyed the people so.... something for crobat?

annoyer Crobat is long dead since it can suddenly learn both shadow ball and sludgebomb, greatly expanding its physical movepool by twice as big... plus, it never really worked that well as an annoyer anyway...

Crobat- [speed + / sp.atk -] @ leftovers
EV: speed max, hp + def
-toxic
-confuse ray/protect
-fly/protect
-torment/protect

Torment is quite underrated...

LanceLite

Crobat annoyer is dead? o great.... then i guess i'll go with ur crobat frosty. the others dont really seem that nice for me right now.... but what does torment do?

Blaziken@Leftovers/Salac
- Swords Dance
- Brick Break
- Earthquake
- Rock Slide/Overheat

First use Swords Dance then sweep, Salac for speed boost.

Blaziken@Leftovers/Salac/Liechi
- Rock Slide
- Endure
- Reversal
- Overheat

Endrevver, Rock Slide for Flying/Ghost, Salac for speed boost, Liechi for attack boost, choose whatever you want.

Shiftry@Leftovers
- Sunny Day
- Solar Beam
- HP Fire
- Explosion/Torment

Sunny Beamer, HP Fire gets boost from Sunny Day too. Explosion for if you are about to die. Torment for annoyance

Shiftry@Leftovers/Choice Band
- Explosion
- Aerial Ace
- Shadow Ball
- Swords Dance/Return

Swords Dance goes with Leftovers/Salac, Return goes with Choice Band. Choicebanded Explosion is always nice.

Gardevoir@Leftovers/Salac
- Calm Mind
- Psychic
- Thunderbolt
- Ice Punch/Fire Punch/Wish/Destiny Bond/Will-O-Wisp/Reflect

Standard, Ice and Fire Punch are Emerald only, Wish for healing, Destiny Bond for taking your opponent with you and WoW and Reflect to help her with her still below average defenses, choose what fits your team best

Frostweaver

the opponent cannot use an attack consectutively (sp?). The opponent cannot use thunderbolt/thunderbolt/thunderbolt but instead thunderbolt/HP Ice/Thunderbolt instead under torment. If used correctly, it really increases a Pokemon's survivability. Weezing uses it quite well in my opinion.

Demonion
October 30th, 2004, 11:30 AM
Torment is quiet usefull i guess, i always have problems when someone uses torment :(. I'm starting to hate Weezing since whatever i do it always dies when i use it and i never dies when others use it :P

LanceLite
October 31st, 2004, 05:07 PM
wow.... demonion ur movesets for blaze and shift are cool... im gonna try it out soon on netbattle. weezing actually goes good? i thought poison types were the worst types..

Demonion
October 31st, 2004, 07:27 PM
Weezing has the "Levitate" Ability which makes him immune to ground attacks so its only weakness are Psychic type attacks

LanceLite
November 1st, 2004, 04:34 PM
..and not many use psychic type attacks which makes it an excellent pokemon... great!! thats going next on my team.

NiNGi
November 1st, 2004, 06:31 PM
mmmm i have never tought of this about weezing o.o'
I always hate poison type pokemon, but now i guess I could insert weezing in my team for some special occasions ^_^
anyway LanceLite, I think the best way of seeing the effectiveness of your team is to challenge other trainers for real, not in netbattle.... i dont actually like netbattle, i think it is different from the real one and the damage/HP system functions differently.... They even state It somewhere in the about section i think.

Demonion
November 1st, 2004, 07:05 PM
it is 100% the same as the real games i guess

Toothache
November 1st, 2004, 07:41 PM
Not completely, the ability to create any Pokemon at will, with maximum stats and EVs to distribute as you choose rather than gain. No one in real life will be fighting with a completely perfect team, after all, but NB comes close to that.

Demonion
November 1st, 2004, 07:57 PM
with 100% the same i meant the formulae for the battles and the EV/IV and Hidden Power systems.

Toothache
November 1st, 2004, 08:14 PM
Yeah, it's about as close as you can get to the real thing in that respect. Wonder if I'd be able to get the source code for NB and implement the things in there for the RM2k CBS... *ponders*

Ice demon
November 1st, 2004, 08:51 PM
Blaziken[jolly]
EVs - max Sp, Att, Def
overheat
quick attack
earthquake
brick break/sky uppercut

thats an alternative option for blaziken

as for gardevoir i prefer WoW

u's all better be wrong about the perfect teams. cos it doesnt NEVER let uber pokemon allowed.... u can never have ur dream team EVER.

whats the catch here? i've tried all the posted teams but my team rating does not rise from 59% neither decrease. i cant seem to defeat anyone either... whats wrong with my netbattle machine?

i agree about using the GBAs to battle. but where i am im the only guy in the neighbourhood who really PLAYS the gba properly... or has a good team. the kid down the block has really weak pokemon and isnt any challenge. i defeated him loadsa times with my first team that i posted.

Frostweaver
November 3rd, 2004, 12:03 AM
The team rating number is rather useless... as it looks a lot at the total stats of all the Pokemon. If you see any team higher than 62%, MASSIVE OU is in store, and perhaps 1 or even more legendaries. Mass ubars result in 80%+.

Can't seem to defeat anyone? What do you mean?

LanceLite
November 9th, 2004, 01:15 PM
i made an all offensive.... sorta... team and got 62%. i made an all uber now.. hehe 82% yay!!

i'll post the 62% soon.

im not winning meaning.. i dont win.... what other meanings are there?

Mana Lugia
November 9th, 2004, 03:37 PM
Note to Toothy: The original Netbattle had a randomizer, so you'd sit there and create a pokemon, and keep rerolling its stats until you get a good DV. Public outcry. Changed to the system we have now, that is on par with RSbot/GSbot

Lance:
Netbattle allows you to use ubers, it's individual servers which don't.

Also, you may be losing because you're not a very good battler, or your team could use work. One of the two always apply.

LanceLite
November 10th, 2004, 06:55 AM
make that the first reason. coolboyman the hacker kicked my @$$ yesterday with a 62% team when i used my 82% uber team.... but it was only cos i didnt give enough evs for speed to my pokemon.... Salac Berry dont work either...

Frostweaver
November 10th, 2004, 07:20 AM
Salacs only activate when your hp is below 25% you know... (hence why you need 4 sub to activate a berry, not just 3 sub like what SPP claims to be, activating at 1/3 hp... perhaps that's true for gameboy? But for balance's sake perhaps, NB took below 25% to activate the berry)

Plus, there are many times where something with a low percentage wins against something higher... Ever watched Kangaskan sweep 3 Pokemon, then Quagsire + Clefable destroying the rest of the OU team? =D

LanceLite
November 10th, 2004, 07:48 AM
sure kangashkhan's a great pokemon. its only wipeout is by fighting types... Clefable all fattened up in stats its great too. same by fighting types. and quagsire would need a grass pokemon. ... ive seen kanga's destroying teams all the time.... but quags and clefs are unbelieaveable.

Frostweaver
November 10th, 2004, 07:53 AM
Wha...? How are they unbelievable? O.o; Kangaskan dooms Crobat/Aerodactyl/Dugtrio easily... early bird rest makes it hard for the opponent too if they can't swords dance or dragon dance. Quagsire has always been a pure evil Pokemon. High hp and decent defense makes things difficult especially with counter, and yawn forcing switches for focus punch and disabling. Clefable is just a miracle calm minding tank with self heal.

However, Subpunch Gengar > all 3 together =/
Kangaskan and Quagsire can't hit it, and Clefable gets slaughtered by focus punch... Kangaskan can learn shadow ball, but I just didn't take it... guess I can consider that, but that means dropping my only fighting attack on the whole team too for another shadow ball user...? (Other shadow ball user is Yanma, who's slower than Gengar anyway)

LanceLite
November 10th, 2004, 08:01 AM
shadow ball has only 80 base attack how can u keep it on? i just saw that crobat is horribly weak in GSC. it cant learn slugebomb or... shadow ball. how come?

if i go with another pokemon for ur trio like dusclops. i THINK it can learn both sunny day and solarbeam. that goes for quagsire and maybe a good seismic toss with a high level 100 dusclops should do some stuff with the other two... and shadow ball for clefable. its psychic aint it?

kirby00
November 11th, 2004, 12:37 AM
dusclops shouldnt have attacks b/c its a tank. dont give it sunny day/solar beam. siesmic is ok for the 100 dam guaranteed hits.

LanceLite
November 11th, 2004, 01:17 PM
i really dont understand the stuff about tanks, stabs physical sweepers and all that. i just now... a little about them.... so all the pokemon i use must go for both defence and attack and everything at the same time.

Dusclops is ONLY good for being a tank (pokemon designed to take damage) due to the unbelieveably high defences. It's attack/sp.atk power pretty much goes down hill which is why Dusclops is no good with attacks.

Frostweaver
November 11th, 2004, 09:29 PM
If Dusclops is to have an attack, then you only got 2 choices: shadow ball or earthquake. All the other attacks are not strong enough in base power. Attacking Dusclops can give many surprises, but it is just a LOT harder to use, and requires much more skill. If you're still confused about all the different aspects of the game, then I'll suggest you to not try having Dusclops to attack besides night shade or seismic toss, because it's harder to control. And feel free to PM someone if you're still confused about all those "roles," so we can explain it to you or even proof it to you on NB.

LanceLite
November 12th, 2004, 07:24 AM
tanks are pokemon to take the damage? u mean something like CurseLax? Im not using dusclops, but at that time i was just trying to suggest that a ghost pokemon with solarbeam and seismic toss could defeat Quagsire, Clefable and Kangashkhan....

Frostweaver
November 12th, 2004, 09:36 AM
And regardless of what a Dusclops is capable of doing besides mean look/curse/rest/double team, it cannot possibly beat Clefable ;) And even that, it's based on luck along with stallwar.

Tanking pokemon is someone to take damage. That is correct. Snorlax is one who can take damage and sweep at the same time (not necessarily Curselax... just any Snorlax besides Drumlax)

LanceLite
November 12th, 2004, 10:02 AM
whats a stallwar? if im correct in just making from the term.. it means someone who stalls for time and battles or something?

my snorlax in NB is just a curselax i use on battle. Curse, Seismic Toss, Rest, Sleep Talk.

Frostweaver
November 12th, 2004, 10:32 AM
stallwar is where the battle drags on and on, with both side stalling their butt off, prolonging death in an irritating manner. GSC battles are 80% stallwar.

That is not a curselax... that's just a Snorlax with curse (a fancy name for defense curl in this case). Seismic toss isn't affected by attack power anyway... so why use it? Also, sleep talk is quite weak now that rest cannot be used when you're already asleep.

Curselax- [atk or sp.def + / sp.atk -] @ chesto berry
EV: hp, atk, def, sp.def
-curse
-rest
-double edge
-shadow ball

Of course... If I must use Snorlax... Sublax all the way (much faster in setup compare to Curselax, and it's gurantee death against *something* as long as Substitute is used safely, which isn't hard at all)

LanceLite
November 12th, 2004, 01:25 PM
substitutes break easily.... i never went for them much..... hehe my simple curselax works wonders for me most of the time...... it could be a buggy bug but when i had my NB version 1 less than the beta1 of advance it could use Rest during Sleep Talk...
