View Full Version : That Silly Proctor!!!!

I was playing at recess today. Me and my friends were pretending we were Pokemon. Then some proctor came up to us and said that we aren't allowed to play Pokemon. How angry I was!! When we asked her why, she just said it was against the rules and refused to explain why. We didn't break any of the estimated 999,999,999,999,999,999 rules. Who else has met people like that?

um... a very long time ago during the Pokemon "Golden Age", a lot of people wants to be famous and well known. So they do all they can to rid this great popular show in order to leave a name in the record of history (and they tried that too to Harry Potter).

One of those weird and pointless argument is that kids are "possessed" by the show, pretending to be a Pokemon. They will lose their identity until one day they will lose their mind as a human being, or some mumble jumbo like that. Their evidence is that one kid died pretending to be a pidgey and fly out the window, only to have his neck got caught in those bars between the window, suffocating to death. (but really did Pokemon killed this kid? i think not...)

so this is a possible reason... or maybe the proctor just hated pokemon... *shrugs*

Where were you then?
Where does he/she get the right of stopping people play Pokemon?
Pokemon is not illegal!
I'd kick that person instantly if I were you!

What does proctor mean?

I was in school, it was a school proctor, and if I'd have kicked her, I would be suspended. But I felt like giving her a piece of my mind.

Along with Pokemon's Golden Age came the over religous people that thought it was "evil". These people said that Magic the Gathering, Dragon Ball, all animes are work of the devil... bunch of crazy gits

I think people think anime is evil because it comes from a country that hardly believes in any gods. like, 0.8% was christian and there are other small parts that have a religion.

I'm just a silly 10-year-old and I usually do nothing at recess but wait until the whistle blows. We looked pretty dumb playing that but we don't have anything else to do. If we play tag, someone tells us not to. If we race, someone tells us not to. So who would blame us? Also, please don't use curse words.

So, what is a proctor? I know jynx already asked, but it didn't seem like he/she got an answer. (Sorry jynx, I don't know which you are.) I remember when Pokemon was popular. Everyone played it in lunch. We didn't have recess from 3rd grade on up, so we couldn't play it then. Finally the teachers decided it was "getting out of hand" and confiscated all the cards we had with us. We didn't see them again until the end of the school year. Unless you were extra good and promised not to bring them again. Now I'm the only one still playing, well, collecting, seems how I have no one to battle against.

A school proctor is a person who patrols around the school and when someone does anything that's against the rules she comes over and tells them not to do it. My school was great until 5th grade. Then instead of having about 20 reasonable rules it had about 999,999,999,999,999,999 unreasonable ones.

Well, I'm in Secondary school too!And I'm even near to my GCSEs!
My school never stops me from playing Pokemon (though I don't often play it)
I downloaded bunches of Pokemon songs and I am ALWAYS on Pokemon sites!

I still don't understand why they can stop you from playing Pokemon!
Everyone has thier own right to do what they want. No one has the right to take away your freedom!

Rules always work like this, even for this forum. The "host" makes up these laws/rules that he/she thinks is reasonable. He/She has a bunch of people to enforce it. You may complain all day long about freedom of rights, but, in reality it's nothing but this:

"You either obey them, or get out of here."

if you don't like the rules, go somewhere where those rules don't exist. Reality is cruel.

k before this leads into a flammable topic of discussion about the infamous "oh my god" phrase let's cut it now. Save it for PM discussions.

also continuing on discussing about this will result in violating the religious rule.

Nope. We didn't even touch each other. Maybe she (It was a she.) thought Pokemon is a violent game full of gore. We weren't pretending we were "battling".

I really don't know why people got so hyped about Pokmon. It actually teaches good values and/or lessons for kids or the young at heart. ^_^ But because it's Japanese, these people had to frown upon it. If you ask me, there are American cartoons that are TEN TIMES worse than Pokmon. I.E.: South Park (indefinitely ^^;), any cartoon that involves anvils being slammed on characters' heads randomly; why doesn't anyone make a big deal about that? Because it's American and anything that's American in America can slide right by the censors without question. For some stupid reason parents freaked out probably because they didn't want to be bothered spending all their money on what they thought was completely worthless and going against religions of the sort. It just baffles me and it made me totally miffed..._ Pokmon is just an enjoyable hobby as worthy as any other. Case closed. I should become a lawyer. ^___^

P.S. -- I wouldn't worry too much about that proctor telling you not to play what you wanted to which was obviously Pokmon, pika-mew. Heck, at my school I have people who yell at us for playing CARDS and tell us to put them away. Why? Because it's supposedly classified as "gambling" even though you'd just be playing it for fun out of boredom. It's a REALLY crazy world out there.

let's not drag political reasonings or opinions into this post.

Some people are just over-sensitive of things, like the card incident you have Sayuri no Hoshi. They are just afraid that you and your friends maybe gambling so they ban that immediately. It's just over-sensitivity.

I don't think it's wrong at all to state opinions in message boards -- that's pretty much half the reason why we have them. I was just debating...it's okay...

i believe in that too... it pains to see that religious and political comments are banned. Because some people in the past and even now cannot handle these topics maturely with an open mind, and led them to flame wars. To prevent flaming the admins are forced to put a ban on these topics... it's very sad...

either way i'm going off topic now... sorry...

I thought the mainstream religion in Japan, Shinto, believed in numerous gods? Just because they don't believe in ONE god...

Eh, just follow the rules and play Pokmon in private, like after school or something. While rebelling may seem fun, it's not worth it because teachers are rule nazis.

*Geez, you can't even say "Oh my god" anymore? What happened to this place?*

Myself, as a Christian, would prefer that is not said. Anyway, back on topic before some Blaziken Flamethrowers me

When I'm here, I am always switching the windows if I am at risk of being seen. Same with playing my Ruby Rom [of course, the computer admin has a vendetta against Emulators, as well], I can't be seen or I face undue troubles. There was a time, however, when I was able to play the TCG at lunch, until the other players stopped bringing their cards. I miss those days, although we were often verbally abused, and occasionally someone would throw the cards around.

I thought Shinto was ancestor worship? Anyway...next year is my last in high school (O_O;;)...if someone asked me if I liked Pokmon, well yes I do. Is there a problem? Harry Potter has some respect there. I can't even bring my Magic: The Gathering cards to school without someone looking at me amused or upset. *sigh* In art class, if your style even resembles anime, you're gonna get a lecture, like it or not. Realism and "Western style cartoon" only.
