Look in the old Game Dev Resource Thread. Wichu Posted all HGSS NPC's and HGSS Overworlds, including all forms, and all shinies. They are ready to be used in RMXP.

Hey, does anyone have a template or blank rubric for 4th gen OW characters. You know how RSE, FRLG, and DPP all have different styles for spriting characters? Like, just the body shape or w/e?

Does anyone know where I can get a simple tileset for the Johnto (I think, the first region) with everything like buildings, surroundings (trees, grass, etc), etc? I need it in a format that is easy to humanly understand, and the objects can't have breaks in them (so basically a building must be on one line), I'd also prefer it to be in geological order (such as surroundings, then pallet town, then the city after that, etc.

It would also help very much if surroundings where in on file, and each cities buildings in their own file, or if the building is generic inside a generic buildings file.

If there isn't one out there, could someone make one? It would be greatly appreciated. The reason I would like them is I am making a browser-based pokemon game (emulator style) and the tilesets that I've seen so far can't be parsed properly with CSS (to my knowledge).

Ah.. I guess this is more question than request, so sorry if this is the wrong place (because I'd probably feel terrible asking for something when I seriously don't know when/if I'm gonna be working on my project again)

Has there been anyone doing clean, RMXP formatted rips of Mystery Dungeon sprites? I've tried making some of my own but they always turn out terrible, and it was before the HGSS Pokemon overworlds came around but those are still not exactly what I wanted (because for some I need their attack animations too). Thankfully it's not like I need all of them either, but I still don't want to bother someone with such a project unless they've been working on it already (Or they seriously want to, because I kinda doubt I've been the only one wanting them).

The problem with asking for those tiles is...
1) the tiles you're asking for would be nearly impossible to make as an autotile. The waves that go up and down appear in a repeating 2x2 tile grid. Same thing with rock tiles.
2) you'd have to construct an event for those waves in order to keep them looking normal (shrinking the size will just make it look bad)
3) without those waves, the ocean animation would look useless.

I'm sorry if I'm driving the nail in, but it would just be easier to do the DPPt water tiles/animations for now.

im using the pokemon starter kit by poccil and have been searching everywhere for tilesets in the same 32X32 px per tile format i would really appriciate it if someone could send me a link that might have at least some of them on it

if the HGSS water animation is so impossible, why can't I find an animated DPPt water autotile like everyone says we should use? If someone could provide a link or embed one it would help a LOT. Thanks in advance for anyone who does.

Sorry to repeat my post, but there is a few things I need to add to my wish list:
-Animated DPPt water autotile
-Rock Climb tiles (in front, left, right and back if possible)(DPPt or HGSS, whatever works)
-Moving DPPt door character sets. (i.e. to replace the frlg ones in the starter kit)
-A collection of animation sets to make the battle move animations with. (DS ones would be preferred)
All credit will be made where it is due.


Secondly a quick question - when it says BADGEFORDIVE can that be changed to BADGEFORDIG and have dig replace dive as an HM? It would take some scripting I'm sure so any help is appreciated.


Also, following playing Pokemon ranger I have been throwing an idea around and I - being a noob scripter - was wondering if it was possible: Can it be made that HMs, rather than being a physical item, are rather an ability that is permanently unlocked by a person, allowed by a badge and usable by any Pokemon who could learn the move at any time?

i.e. I beat a gym that allows SURF. An aide tells me that the professor wants me, and that the easiest way to get back is by surfing across a river, so he teaches me how to surf. From now on, provided I have a Pokemon with me that previously would have been taught the SURF HM - say Blastoise - I can now surf whenever i like. However if I was to put Blastoise into the box and my party now consisted of Pidgey and Oddish I could no longer surf until I had a Pokemon who was able.

It would remove the need for HM slaves and also free up move slots for a team. The HMs themselves could be rendered as regular moves, and the new 'abilities' could be listed in a sub window of the trainer card or something.

Does anyone have a RMXP tileset of Saurav's tilesheet That is transparent already.
I cannot give link because I don't have 15 post but if you search saurav you will find it. The the thread is named "Saurav's sprites and tilesets project"
I want all the tiles except the d/p ones. I will credit whoever makes it for me. I would make it myself but I tried to make transparent and it ruined the whole thing.

Can i have someone do a front and back battler sprite for me of the fakemon in the attachment? I don't mind if it is scratched, spliced, mutated or whatever. DO NOT do a shiny, it's not necessary. Just a few notes before you do it though:
It is a starter - don't make it too big or small.
It is a sheep - the green fleece however is rather short (unlike mareep's) and as such should not be fluffed up too much
The yellow thing on it's back is a flowerbud and the brown thing on it's head is kind of like a helmet/downed ears.
Also, the pic is an old image i made on inkscape, so it must be known that the toes are supposed to be like chikoritas.
The sprite need not be the same pose, by all means make it more...action-y.

Hopefully someone can help. All credit will be provided where it is due.

Also, magicbus, i have compiled a bunch of graphics into an outside tileset, credits are long and varied (and some belong to me) so if you want it pm me and give credit to all of the people involved.

the only advice i can give you is to gather the 'un-diverse' ones that are all over the place then collate them into one that suits you. that's what i have done and i have most of the graphics from both games. so good luck and get to work.

sorry, but the pokemon essentials starter kit is for RPG Maker XP. 2003 doesn't have the scripting capabilities that allow XP to be able to make and play Pokemon games. I suggest you get RPG Maker XP and start from there. XP is better than 2003 anyway.

Considering that fact that the games are still a recent release, I think you'll have to wait a while for someone to patiently rip the tiles through screenshots, then manually edit them so that they no longer have the 3D perspective and appear as proper 2D representations of the 3D models that the HG/SS maps are built on.

I've been lurking around the forum for a while now, checking out each thread here in the resource forum to see if I could find what I was looking for, but had no luck with it so I'm going to put down a request.

I noticed that Rm2k3Kid has an expansive collection of 4th Gen overworld sprites in the form of charsets for Rpg Maker XP. I also noticed that somewhere, someone mentioned that he converted these leading me to believe that they were first made in the form that Rpg Maker 2003 recognizes as there are programs that convert 2k3 to XP.

I can go and complie RM2k3 sets myself, but if the work has already been done and they exist somewhere out there, I could spend that time on actual game development and the custom sprite that are needed.

if you've gone to the effort of making team aqua ones why not just modify the incomplete kyledove ones so that they are complete? It's not that hard to do - i've done it before with some other overworlds. And correct me if i'm wrong, but aren't those overworlds private? i forget.

evidently they arent private because i got them from a google search, but the reason i made team aqua is because it was relatively easy, and as for completeing kyledoves set that is not my project that is his i dont mess with another persons work

That's where Paint comes in handy. Resize by 200%. Easy but time-consuming.

Thanks Maruno, but but that does not work, only makes a zoom not resize. I tried with many programs, but all pixel sprites. I have only a pack with the first frame, uploaded by Wichu, I have been unable to find more.

So you want higher resolution sprites, rather than just double sized ones (which are then shrunk by half when playing the game in a tiny window)?

There's plenty around here - use the search function and google. If it isn't what you are looking for, get what you want from the tilesets and make your own compilations. But remember to credit the person who ripped the tiles (pr made them in the case of customs)

I need Lucas' Platinum overworld sprite.

I have some, not sure if it's platinum, but i hope it's sufficient. See the attachments.
EDIT: I noticed the colours are a bit screwy. I added a slightly incomplete one that maybe you can fix it with. Might be more effort than you wanna use though. Hope it helps.

If it isn't too much I was hoping maybe a title that looks just like the fire red version, but instead of it saying FIRERED VERSION, make it say FROZEN LANDS, if any more details are needed just let me know, I'm in no rush, and I will gladly add you to the credits for my game.

Hi! I'm new to the whole map-making things, and I was wondering if anyone has any indoor tiles other than kyledove's? I was planning on making a game using Pokémon-esque cityscapes, however I can only find diversity in the OUTDOOR tiles... any help is greatly appreciated.

I especially need tiles for the Pokemon Mansion, some tiles from any 4th gen "lab" (couldn't think of a better way to put it, as i couldn't think of a location), and the tiles to either the Pokéathlon Dome, or the Contest Dome in Hearthome.

Also, any of the tiles for gyms would be great...

Essentials already has shadows in it. Look in the notes to find out how to use them (you need a light source in order to cast shadows).

I can, and so can you! Open your nearest copy of Paint, select everything, then click the "resize" button. The rest is even simpler than that!

Assuming your sprites have transparency in them, though, go download yourself a free copy of Paint.NET, and do pretty much as above. It's not difficult, just tedious.

Probably because you don't have the setting right. If you used paint.net then there should be a drop down option that appears when you select the whole image. It normally says Quality: smooth, change it to pixelated then resize the image.

Nearest Neighbour doubles up the pixels without blurring anything (which is what all the default graphics in Essentials are like). Paint.NET only has three resize methods, and it's not difficult to test them all just to see what they do.

Obviously you can't get a sharp large image out of a smaller one. However you resize it, it's going to be blurry in one way or another.

Thanks I found it. One more Question. How do you make a light source that casts a shadow at night but not in the day. Someone said use Outdoorlight but that just changes the light intensity not the shadow intensity. Thanks ahead of time if someone can help with this.

For everyone asking for specific tiles from a DS game, here is the easiest do it yourself solution.
1) Download a DS emulator
2) Start the rom in the emulator and take screenshots of the game
3) Use an image editor to arange them so you can import them
4) Import the new images
That should help a whole lot of you guys, well I hope it does.

Would it be possible to write a script which allows you to ride the pokemon in your party as opposed to riding a bike? Ie: Riding Arcanine while walking/running, or your Gyarados (instead of the typical Wailmer) when surfing, or your Aerodactyl comes to pick you up and fly you instead of whatever the default is (I think it's a pidgey).

Ok so I'm the one that is i need of digimon stuff lol. Ok so I need the following:


The outside and insides tiles (i guess you could call them that) from Digimon World DS, Dawn/Dusk.
The tiles of the areas that you go to.
The attack animations (like if Aguman were to do Pepper Breath, i would need the fire ball)


I think that is all. No you don't have to get all of these or every single thing for one of those three, if you can at least get me something I will be happy :)

Hi everybody, Chugwig here. I already posted/pitched my I idea for Pokemon Xenon & Cesium [you have to go to the drawing board and look at it since I cant post links] and I have started making the game. I have come into a few delemas but one of the major ones is the lack of sprites. On spriters resource there are pokemon sprites (Using dungeon ones) and some basic moves (using the main games) but I would appreciate if everyone here on pokecommunity.com would do there part by submitting pokemon sprites (need animated) but more than that I definetly need moves (animated again(need the real ones but you can submit your own, but I will then need statistics for the move and it will just get messy)) and backgrounds (routes towns (can be ripped from the games, just sprites that I will have to put together, or custom made town)). If you want you can also submit your own pokemon mixes, new pokemon, or evolutions but they will not be in the first release, I will ask for them when I need them, but If you want submit them and again they must be animated. By the way by animated I mean like the ones on spriters resource (you will have to go to the website go to the mystery dungeon 2 sprites and look at one of the pokemon like bulbasuar or butterfree since I cant post links) and preferably moves seperate but I can seperate those. If I use your sprites you will obviously get credit and thanks in advance. P.S. If I should split this into 3 threads asking for the stuff I need I can, I just thought I would get into trouble for triple posting threads...

EDIT: By the way after looking at other things people are asking for (since my game is rpg not turn based) the sprites are scarce and probably harder to make so I am so grateful and credit will be given.

First time I have ever requested something and I know that this request may be pretty hard to fulfill but would anybody mind making a tsutaja OW set for rmvx? If so this would be highly appreciated and all needed credit will be given.

I have the trainer backs, not animated, just one frame sorry. I ripped both >_> you can credit if you want.

I have them, they are in the attachments, I dont have the gym tiles either, im trying to wip some of them from hg/ss but everytime i attack a pokemon and kill it the game freezes, im only aple to wip soo much tiles.if any 1 can send me PNG format screens of the gyms i can wip them.

Here (http://spriters-resource.com/ds/pokeheartgoldsoulsilver/sheet/26778) are the sprites for Hibiki. They are not in RMXP format.

Hey can I get the R/S/E or better Fog animation set, all animations preferably if possible please and thank you.

The ones I found for the bedroom and the markets are Pink.

As for Gym Tiles...I didnt find any.

If you have a set of inside tiles the just recolor them and make your own. Or make them like the ones you want

I know, but every time i try to resize, add pixels the walking is reversed so its like II then /\ \= walk forward left /= walk forwar right |= stand still.

This isn't the hacking forum. We do not do stuff for pokemon ruby. So go to the EMULATION forum and look there.

Well, like how there are separate tiles you use for Dive maps; I want to simulate a flooded and sunken route, both above and below the water, but I dont have any tiles to make an Underwater route to show how flooded the route was. I hope that helped

Well try and be less vague. If you mean by "sprite" in-battle sprite, you can find it on TSR. If you mean the overworld sprite, you can find that on TSR as well.

You want to resize all of the sprites in the character sheet, so select the entire canvas and resize it.

I wonder if someone has such a sprite/picture or would be willing to create one for me.

For a game intro I need an anime like picture of an adult (it doesn't matter if it is a man or a woman) dressed in rural and a bit mystic clothes with a lantern in one hand.

For an example look at the attachment :)

Since this is a very specific request, I couldn't find it anywhere... I need this for the intro of my first RPXP game^^

The hero goes for a walk late at night and this person sees him and tells him to go back to bed. At the same time gender and name is asked of you and the next day the adventure begins.

When Mapped, they show a pink outline.As for the tall grass, it shows a white outline from when I tried to fix it myself.

There's nothing wrong with them. when you're inserting it, make the pink the transparent color. Same for the white.

You import the tiles using the resource manager and set the transparency to the colour you want, left click being transparent right click being semi-transparent. Quite an easy thing to do for most people who've used rmxp for more than 5 minutes xD.

I'm looking for completely finished plug&play D/P tilesets and charsets. The ones that are recommended here (yes, I've read the earlier posts) don't work correctly with RPGXP... The position of the tiles is off.

I will credit you of course once my game thread is available in the Drawing Board, it is not, so I guess I did something wrong...

ALSO: I used the HGSS Cyclist as a guide :D and you can just use the color pallet from the front and back views

o, btw, for the see through water, just make a tile of exactly that, what you see in the screenie, and set terrain tag to surf. Like, geta a cave tile, and wuth paint.net, set opacity to whatever and paste it on top. Also, you´ll have to animate it.

Hey Guys its been awhile and i cant find the request center >.>, but I was wondering if anyone can make a script, or show me. How do i change the picture of something ex:

I click something, it has a bunch of themes i click it and it changes the theme and saves.


Also: d/p/pt naked character sprites, and can someone show me how to make a 16x16 game, because everytime i do it the text is too big, or when i enter a Pkmn battle u can only see a section of the screen.

Okay I am trying to create a button that jumps to a section of the bag. like key items jump to Berrys, and Berry can jump to battle items, instead of have to keep pressing left and right. Here is my script of the function, and I am having errors with it.
