Minecraft is a sandbox construction game created by Markus Persson, the game is currently in pre release alpha. Minecraft development started around the 10th of May 2009, pre-orders for the full game started being accepted on the 13th of June.

The game involves players creating and destroying various types of blocks in a three dimensional environment. The player takes an avatar that can destroy or create blocks, forming fantastic structures, creations and artwork across the various multiplayer servers in multiple game modes.
This game has changed a lot since its beginning, and now it has a pre-paid bonus: Indev.
indev, or Indev Survival is an in-development mode with survival aspects, and you can only create what you gather from destroying blocks. The terrain is randomly generated, so you will never know what map you will get. You can craft weapons to kill various creatures, otherwise known as "mobs". These are:

-Pig: Friendly, gives you meat when killed. These are known to push people off cliffs.

-Sheep: Friendly, gives you wool.

-Creepers, the jihad of the mobs, scuttles up to you and kills you with the signature S-S-S-S-SSSSS-BOOM. These drop gunpowder.

-Skeletons, they kill people with arrows, and drop arrows when killed.

-Zombie, A basic, but quiet killer. It walks up to you and attacks you, drops feathers.

-Spiders, the worst. While the others are 2 blocks high, 1 wide, this is 2 wide, 2 deep, one high. These jump and have glowing eyes, but only attack you at night or when provoked. These drop string.

There is also a really new mode, infdev, which experiments with infinite worlds, generating new terrain on the fly.

There is also multiplayer creative-sandbox mode for free, but you have to pay the pre-purchase if you want any custom skins now. That will be paid-only when the game is finished, along want Multiplayer Survival, which will soon come out.

You can get it for 15 euros now, and get everything when it is finished being made, or pay the full 30 euro price when it is finished. The finished product will include the current modes, plus zombie defense, CTF, and other unannounced things.

Oh, and the earliest survival mode with no crafting or night-day is available for free, along with the free-to-make-anything "creative" mode.

Smells like advertisement.

While your keen sense of smell is on the money, your post lacks the fourth word needed for posts.

This thread does seem awfully advertising-friendly, so I'll go ahead and lock it. If you want to make a discussion for the game and not advertise for it, then be my guest, but until then...
