Final Thoughts
Well, it's finally over, and I was too lazy to do the final standings, ha ha. So sue me >_<. Well, this last IBT was actually very well done IMHO in terms of participation, especially since all the battles were done in round 1! PokemonElite2000 did not live up to expectations, but the battles were very close, and losing that one win was crucial since they did have the KOs to match. Serebii performed better than expected, considering there's no really affirmation that they recognize Netbattle as a valid online battling simulator. PokeCommunity overcame much adversity and takes home the championship, what a great sight to behold, considering they had some trouble scrapping a team of five. All in all, a successful tournament, and perhaps IBT 2 will rise around Christmas, so prepare to defend your honour against some old and maybe even new forums, PC! (Serebii may or may not participate next time, since it's impossible to make a thread about tournaments there without being locked for no reason).

And that's it!

I wasn't able to battle in the second round. My opponent was having computer troubles.

Next time, all the battles should be done in the same window of time, such as three hours. The tournament wasn't very structured.

Other rounds could be done on other days; but again, in a similar window of time (i.e. 11:00 - 13:00 GMT). I realise many people live in different time zones, but it could be done on weekends.

Who's Sidney Crosby? Anyway, wow, I won something, and congrats to everyone who took part, especially those people who won their matches for us. I couldn't find my opponent to battle, whenever I did he disappeared offline.

To HellishHades: No. Never. That format has been tried so many times that it's laughable at the fact that none of them ever worked. There's no way for 16 people to show up at the same time on the same day, you'd be lucky if 5 showed up at all (exception: Cutoff for default win, ha ha). The only way to hold a tourney that has more than 8 people is to do it in a given timeframe, asking them to complete the round ASAP. Anyhow, the second round was a disappointment, but 2 of 5 battles is actually decent for a tourney turnout for me. If you consider it, btw, giving people a timeframe of 2 weeks is saying "Find some time where the 2 of you can both be online at the same time", which is 13 people less than saying "Lets have all 15 ppl online at the same time! And then including me!"

To Toochache: Sidney Crosby is that kid who plays for the Quebec minor Major Hockey League who's expected to be the next big thing (hey, the great one himself said it :p), so basically the award for the person who everyone must watch for in the next tourney :p

Also, the thread for the finals may be unstickied if needed :)

I'm the next big thing huh? Cool

Sure, I'll unsticky. Any idea when the next Interboard Tourney will be? I suggest sometime in the new year.

It *should* be Christmas... no school during that time for most of the little kids in North America (too bad for the old folks, like Toothy ;p), so we actually have time to play. =D

I got nothing to do this Christmas except for furiously marking millions of fanfics for the Christmas fanfic contest (that'll last only about 5 days though, and I don't have to mark non-stop ^^; ), and can certainly play in a NB battle without interference this time.

Alright then, Christmas it is. I can definately live with that. Just means I've got to cook up a new team then.

Why isn't frosty on MSN when you need him? ;-)

Jeez...that sucks...I costed my forum the win...I gotta think a little bit harder for the next time I do this, I got thrashed in that last matchup...

Heh, that's not true, because had you not battled, your forum would still have lost 1-0, and it's bad sportsmanship to cower from a fight just so you won't lose :p

Anyways, the next IBT is indeed planned for Christmas, but we'll see how that goes. Prepare for harder opponents, new challenges, and romance!

Well, maybe not romance, but I like romance, so >_>
