At first I ignored this, but now it's become too serious. What's up with these messages in signatures? There are some claiming to have adopted people...and they are only 15! And people claiming to be lesbians...at 14! And one I saw said he was married and the member was 11! Is there some kind of hidden joke I am missing?

By this I'm assuming you mean the pairing up aspect of things. It's basically a bit of fun within the forums, and does NOT extend to real life or anything, before you ask. It's extension is solely the forums, and isn't really something to be taken seriously. For more information, go to Other Chat. As that's where all of them originate in some form or another.

It's just a bit of fun. Honest ^_^

Mewman, we have "pairings" on Pokecommunity -they're just role plays where people pair up and pretend to get married -it's not serious ^^;
With adoptions, we have a Pet Thread, where some members role play pets, and some role play owners
Regarding their sexuality, there is no age limit on that kind of thing, so that's not an issue ^^;

For the most part, it's just for fun. People think it's "cool" and everything to be paired up. As for the other thing... some people are well aware of their orientation at the age of 14. o_o;

well my pair just asked me to pair up with him one PM after he asked to be my friend (ninetales_001 freaked me out then 0_o I got really surprised.) so it isn't dating anymore
