This might come off as a personal rant or whatever.. but I think that it could bring up some discussion.

Have you thought that you knew someone, but they turn out to be completely different? Did they backstab you etc?

Well... I got this thread due to a personal matter that I won't go in depth about. There is this guy I know who just got released from prison not too long ago. (1 year and a half if not less) I knew he was kind of a tough guy, and a big jerk... but he just did something that I thought he would never do. That is, he shot someone. :/ He is now on the run.

I am personally am not fazed, or at least not as much I should be, because I don't particularly like the person. I feel more sympathy for the man he shot. I also feel bad for my brother(the guy was his dad) and my mom(they were "dating".)

Basically, just discuss any random whims that people you know(or you) do. They can be serious, or light in heart.

Ah well there's been plenty of times that I've been backstabbed. It's mostly all been on the internet, but a few of the occurrences have been in real life. I'll just go through a couple of the ones on the internet. They've all, at least as far as I can recall, been in the subject of staff positions on various sites. I was an Administrator of a forum and was what I considered a really good friend with the Root Admin, but obviously not. We merged with another site and the guy took away all of my power to the point that I could actually do more in the Mod CP than the Admin CP. It was just anger for the most part because I would complain to the root admin and he said he would look into it. I went a couple months without anything really happening, and then the site just fell apart because the guys we merged with pretty much destroyed it.

Also on IRC Networks with involvement in the same site. We were part of another website's IRC network, and I was an IRCOp. Well, there was a split between the two networks and we had our own made. I was really good friends with everybody on the network we had originally been on, but then everybody(or at least everybody who cared about the split) hated me, and I was even glined once for a bit for complaining. What amazes me though is that even after the split of the sites I mentioned in my first example the guy made me a netadmin. Then another netadmin basically ruined everything and drove off EVERYBODY. We were part of another site then, as well...

Just a couple of the internet examples. I don't really feel like explaining the ones in real life.

Backstabbing and me is not a fun thing, rawwwrr. :V I've lost many 'best friends' over stupid things and little issues we've never settled. The person I consider my best friend now has stabbed me in the back quite a few times times and used me in so many situations. It's like I can't see it being any way else, and I'd miss him too much if he were gone so I put up with lots of stuff, I keep all of the secrets he tells me hidden even if I know it'd be better if certain people knew, I feel like I'm emotionally abused lots of times, and so on and so forth... but I can't imagine life any other way and he means so much to me, so whatever. I still love him, through and through. The good outweighs the bad, usually.

TL;DR: Been backstabbed, and bad relationship with my current best friend 'cause of backstabbing. BUT, life goes on~

Of course I've been stabbed in the back. That's just life for you, I guess. Toughen up, and move on. I just took what happened as an advantage to change who I am.

Mm... Happens to everyone at least once in their lifetime.

When I was 12, I wrote a small novel by hand. Nothing big, but it took me a few months to do. I pretty much broke my wrists between sharpening the pencil and writing lol then my "best friend" took it out of jealousy and dumped it in a bucket of water. She blamed it on the wind. There was no wind that day >>

Another thing was when that same "friend" got angry at me and forgot to pick me up to attend a party. She knew I needed that ride, yet she deliberately forgot me; I can't remember why, but I think I irritated her in some way and she venged herself by excluding me from that person's party. Not only did I lose out, but so did the birthday girl.

Kinda minor things compared to yours, OP, but they were moreso personal attacks. I'm just glad I'm in good hands atm.
