A worthwhile Blog System?

I'm sick and tiref of trying to find a good blog system. I just want the cool calender and an easy layout system. I *hate* having to decode all these places stupid codes and stuff.

Those are both pretty good. But they aren't stand-alone scripts unless you want to go to the trouble to install it yourself with the code at livejournal.org

Even if you go for LJ you can still do some pretty cool stuff, for example my LJ (www.livejournal.com/~jedi_amara) doesn't look like a default LJ, it has a decent layout o_O
