Rattata or Pidgey?

In pokemon Fire Red, which is better to start out with? Rattata or Pidgey? Please give your reasons, cause I need them.

Well, Pidgey can eventually be taught Fly, which is a good move. And Ratatta can learn Super Fang. If you're having trouble with making an in-game team, I suggest using the in-game team help section, as this isn't really the place for it.
