Unova Pack for Pokémon Essentials

I made a Unova Pack (download in http://www.mediafire.com/?ss185bjkw0jj62w) to put Unova pokémon in Pokémon Essentials. This pack include normal, back and shinies sprites, icons, cries, and pokemon.txt to put they in game. This kit also have a tm.txt with all gen 3/4/5 TMs and Move Tutors (except the XD ones). Some had alterate forms sprites in this pack.

Thank You so mych i have all bw icons cries sprites but icons are not for essentials yet just have few.

Here are 46 icons from bw dex for essentials i will have done all in few days. Oh and i ahd somewhere all bw dex entry.

all of the cries all already in .wav form. and venom, some of your icons are discolored, due to bad ripping.Sorry, I didn't find the cries and confused with midi format. The wav is the correct one.
And I didn't found the discolored venom12 icons (the second post ones).

I made the Unova pokémon backsprite in 160x160 HgSs style. Some won't fit good, they are too small! For the worst I resized some.
This isn't fit perfect, but is better that nothing if you wish to put this pokémon in your gen IV style game.
This pack include the shinies, different forms like Shikijika and gender differences like Pururiru.

I put all in a Unova Pack

I plan on putting the hold itens and correct the evolution of the old Pokemon in txt.Done

New notes:
-For 493 first pokémon I only touch on movepool, hold itens and correct evolutions. Nosepass and Magneton evolve trade with Metal Coat and Eevee evolve to Leafeon and Glaceon with Shiny Stone and Dusk Stone respectively. Itens like Dusk Stone need to be put in script to work.
-I put the BW Wild itens for ALL pokémon. Some of them exist in essentials but don´t work like the Sticky Barb. You can make them sold only itens.
-The Pokémon Essentials doesn't support 100% chance of holding a item. For the 100% itens I put 55% chance.
-From gen4 hold itens to gen5 hold itens, only the Gen5 new pokémon and Pikachu, Chansey, Electabuzz, Magmar, Shuckle, Elekid, MagbyA and Happiny had different hold itens. All these itens exist in gen4.

there aren't sam moves in "Moves.txt"Sorry, I forget to mention that is pack is only to put Unova pokémon in Poccil Kit, no moves, no Abilities. Both require a script knowledge to be implemented. The moves can be put without effects, but is better to this wait the english names cames out.

By the way, what essentials version you are using? The last had gen4 moves (but no effect), I put him in this post.

If in your version don't have the Gen4 attack, download the moves.txt in my above post. This function can make some moves to work.

In "PokeBattle_Move", in the end change

Pokemon DS? by venom12Technically its a Pokémon Essentials DS question because I use the standart method for add a pokémon in essentials to make this kit, but I try to help you with this.
I check the Pokémon Essentials DS and notice that pokémon have 2 frame animation (you can pick and put the same one) and a overworld sprite (you can put a placeholder).

I put the "kind" in uppercase or in lowercase?
I was thinking in uppercase because the POKÉMON, without script is aways uppercase in Pokédex.

the Internal names are like the english patches!I see some errors like SERPEIOR and ENBUOH and I only see the first ones. I personally think that is strange the first 493 pokémon names in upper case and the last ones in lower case.

I had consecutive delays but now is update time! I put the english names, kind and pokédex entries. I put all kind in upper case, include the gen 4 pokémon.
I fix the Happiny evolution, in the original txt this pokémon evolues with Nugget so I charge to Oval Stone.
For some reason the Plusle have 30 of Battler Altitude in previous releases, I corrected in this version.
The abilities.txt is also on pack.

I was wondering, do you have an updated version of tm.txt?
I have plans to make one even with gen4 TMs and Platinum and HgSs Tutors, but only for pokémon that learns they in game. Some TMs like Dragon Pulse only have gen4 pokémon, but some like Charge Beam had the gen5 ones.

I start to make tm.txt . Some form like Sky Shaymin learn some TMs like Air Cutter but it can't be normally add the learnset to form differences. I should completely ignores any extra forms?

ATTENTION! I MISSPELLED "KROKODILE" WHEN THE RIGHT IS "KROOKODILE". I FIX IN THE NEW VERSION.
And, thanks tho Venom12, now Its have the BW moves.txt! I also update the pokemon.txt to have this moves.
I also created the tm.txt with all gen 3/4/5 TMs and Move Tutors (except the XD ones). You can eve delete the new pokémon names in tm.txt and use without Unova pokémon!

I'm pretty sure you didn't run editor.exe after placing the files into your game. Either that, or your PBS folder lacks the file with the Pokemon in it. Go to PBS/Pokemon.txt, and look for Tepig's name. If it isn't there, then try the kit again.

Do you add 5 th gen. pokemon to pbs/pokemon file? The base Essentials DS have pokemon 1 - 4 th gen.Using the standart method to add new pokémon (or fakemon) in Essentials.
I only edit the pokemon.txt with pokémon data, add the cry SE, the pokémon icon and four battlers (front, back, front-shiny, back-shiny). It's easy, but time consuming.

I thinks that the latest versions of Essentials DS have the Unova Pack.

Did you try compiling the data in the editor? As that's the only thing I can think of with that error.

Oh god, I remember that problem. The pokemon essentials ds compiler, ain't exactly that great. just copy the script from the original pokemon essentials compiler and paste over the ds compiler script,
then after words, compile with your editor, and it should work fine.
Thats what i did and my game works fine except for that stupid i can't catch pokemon bug *but that bug was already in the pokemon essentials ds*

I have been having the same problem.. I tried to compile but that doesnt work also I tried to copy the compiler for the original essentials and it keeps saying about an error on line 14 anyways can anyone help with this??

Nevermind.

Had a question, but i found the answer to it. I guess i'll tell what happened as a tip:

When you replace the files, if after compiling them, if you can't see the names, just the numbers, run the game on RPG Maker. That will do and the names will appear.

For the ones who uses the 2011 October Essentials release or after: You don't need to put the moves.txt that comes with Unova Pack. Simply don't move this file to you game folder or even delete it in winzip.

I made an updated version of pokemon.txt (zipped due to forum limit size for Attachments) with new things like new Abilities, HiddenAbility, Lowercase names, regional numbers for Kanto and Johto (turn National Dex "ON" on settings to see the others pokémon) and adjusted Battler Position for HeartGold and SoulSilver Graphics (if you don't like they, put "Reposition All" in Editor). Credits goes also to IceGod64 and dannyboy601

The Unova Pack moves.txt and abilities.txt aren't needed for new versions of Essentials. To use tm.txt find and replace all "MR_MIME" to "MRMIME"

If you change something using external editor (like reposition one sprite), the editor erase ALL the regional numbers! To fix this open the editor scripts (to do this temporarily rename the EditorScripts.rxdata to Scripts.rxdata). In PokemonEditor, after the line 'eggEmerald=File.open("Data/eggEmerald.dat","rb")' add:

It won't break anything, no, however, you're going to have to do a lot of copying and renaming of the sprite files because in v7, the female forms have their own files. You'll need to duplicate animated sprites and rename them to fit into the female spots otherwise those won't work. It also doesn't include the sprites for alternately formed pokemon. So if anything, it's now just a bit incomplete.

This must be something that Maruno change in newer versions.
The game shouldn't immediately crash when adding new species, but there will be form-recording problems later on. That's the only thing I've changed in that regard.

It just makes sense to start a new game when you've made such a big change as adding a new species, though. "Start a new game" should be step 1 when it comes to troubleshooting any problem.

ok i thin i've missed something here. i've taken everything from the unova pack (sound effects, graphics and .txt files) and placed them in their proper folders within essentials and replaced the old .txt files with your ones. it excepted this but then i have an in game problem. every time in debug mode i attempt to give myself a unova pokemon it gives me this error message:

I am making a new pack with BW2 forms, but I can't find TherianLandorus, TherianThundurus, TherianTornadus cries. Does anyone have theses cries?

arent they using the cries from normal forms?

Pack updated with BW2 data (forms) and others things that I don't put before like Genosect forms and females icons of Unfezant, Frillish and Jellicent.

I didn't noticed your edit. For some reason theses cries have a big file size (around 350 kb), but I added. If someone has/know a method of reduce this file size, let me know!

Good! I upgraded the kit with these cries with reduced size. The cries sizes now (around 43 kb) still are bigger than regular cries (around 20 kb).

I keep running into this same issue. Somehow my Pokemon TXT file in the PBS folder decides to magically delete a certain amount of pokemon from the bottom. One time it cut me off at #40 (Yes it only went up to Wigglytuff) now I get errors about my own pokemon not being existent. It stops at Uxie.....I still need all 649 AND they better have that base EXP thing fixed. Last time i downloaded it everyone was 0.

the newest version of essentials actually has Gen V pokemon so you can easily copy and replace the pokemon txt file with the one in the newest version. i personally only use this for Gen V backsprites because in the latest version of essentials they are very small
