Question about a certain Pokemon

Hey, guys. I'm sort of new to Pokemon but I have experienced the great joys of it in the past. I've become intrigued by a certain Pokemon that I remember seeing in one of the movies. It came in groups and they was shaped like these weird letters with eyes. They floated around, I forgot what they did but apparently these things were very special and not much known about them. Does anyone here know what I'm talking about?

Ah, thank you. I found these Unown Pokemon as hidden images in the spectograph of the modified Ruins of Alph theme and I wanted to know what they were and why they were in there.
