View Full Version : The Elimination Challenge!

Hacki101
April 2nd, 2011, 04:07 AM
In this challenge you can only ever have 1 Pokemon of any type (If you have caught Sigilyph you cant have Emolga as they are both Flying) and if a Pokemon faints you can never use their type(s) again! You must battle through each game to completion (E4 Champion or Red) without having all your types eliminated. Choose your Pokemon wisely!

Basically here are the rules:

1) You can only use one Pokemon of each type
2) If your Pokemon faints it is released/ boxed forever
3) If your Pokemon dies you cannot replace it with another of the same type
4) Game over if all your Pokemon die
5) No legends

Optional rules:

1) If your Pokemon dies you cannot use the same type MOVES as the Pokemon that died ever again
2) You can only have 10 types
3) NO HM slaves unless you cannot get past the object with any of your Pokemon
4) You must train 6 Pokemon equally in your team once you have assembled it (recommended)
5) If a Pokemon of dual typing is used you may choose 1 of the types to eliminate instead of both

Hacks are not preferable but are allowed as long as the hack is finished and has a definite finishing point.

Added you to the Challengers list. Have fun!

Time for my first update:

Chose Oshawott as my starter as it is the second best water type in gen 5 in my opinion behind carracosta but that is part rock and I want a different rock Pokemon. Emboar is outclassed by Darmanitan which also lets me use another Fighting type. Seperior is alright but i prefer another Grass type.
Caught Lillipup as you need 2 Pokemon after the 1st gym and it is the best Pokemon available around now and Stoutland is almost as good as Bouffalant anyway.
Defeated Cheren and Bianca easily
Defeated Chilan with Lillipup and a few Potions
Then disaster struck so early- Was swept by +2 Att Overgrown boosted Vine Whip from Cheren's Snivy.
Restarted the game :( and did everything the same except for a got a worse Lillipup ability and nature wise :( but trained Lillipup more than Oshawott because it is more useful at the start of the game
Defeated Chilan easily
Then failed to kill a bideing Patrat which was left with 1HP and had to choose to sacrifice Lillipup or Oshawott :(
Patrat killed Oshawott- I need Lillipup for Cheren.
Grinded Lillipup into a Herdier.
Caught Munna because I had to (Munna> Purrloin> Pansear) to get past the twins double battle
OHKO both Cheren's Pokemon :D Revenge is sweet.
Impressions:
Normal
Herdier Lv.17
Take Down
Tackle
Work Up
Bite

Was stronger than Oshawott in both playthroughs although +SpAtt -Speed is helping no-one. He is the staple of the team and is my Pokemon to go to when needed.

Psychic
Munna Lv.14
Psybeam
Lucky Chant
Yawn
Defense Curl

Is alright I guess, havn't really used her much but Psybeam is good- a vast improvement on Psywave anyway. -Sp.Att nature also sucks.

Water(Eliminated)
Oshawott Lv.12
Water Gun
Cut
Water Sport
Tail Whip

Disappointing to lose him, good enough against lesser trainers but really wasn't that helpful against stronger opponents. Shame I had to waste one of the best types in the game but I needed Lillipup/Herdier for Cheren.

Types yet to use: Flying, Fire, Ghost, Grass, Electric, Dark, Ice, Ground, Dragon, Bug, Rock, Fighting, Poison, Steel

I will sign up but I need to clear my UMC first (which I haven't yet started..)

But just to clear things up, correct me if I'm wrong. You go through a game or games in the case of an Ultimate using only One Pokémon and once or if that Pokémon faints say it's a Bulbasaur you cannot use another grass type and you then move onto another type say Poison i.e Weezing and you can only use 10 types or the challenge is failed.. correct? (and if it's an ultimate can you use 10 different types for every game?)

Hiker Anthony! I have had trouble with him before, always catching you off guard! This kind of thing reminds me of bad times Nuzlocking, but probably why I enjoy these types of challenges so much.

I will sign you up when you start. You are allowed all 17 types unless you use the corresponding optional rule that limits you to 10. Your example with Bulbasaur is partially correct as, yes, if you obtain Bulbasaur you cannot obtain another Grass or Poison type Pokemon (so you couldn't catch Weezing) unless you used the optional rule where you can choose which of Grass and Poison Bulbasaur counts as.

If its ultimate you start each game as if you start from a blank plate.

Hope that clears things up!

No, you can use a full team of Pokemon, just not the types you've already in use/previously used.

Update:

Caught Blitzle in the grass whom i have never used before, should be interesting. I chose him over Galvantula as the spider is overrated in my opinion and is the worst bug type in the game (I have have done a Bug monotype). Tynamo is too difficult to evolve but Eelektross is very strong and would of been used. Stunfisk I didn't think about and Emolga only just lost out to Blitzle due t earliness you can catch Blitzle
Helped Cheren defeat Team Plasma (I hate Patrat's after the last update)
Caught my 4th team member, Roggenrola. I have used him before and Gigalith is amazing to have at Lv.25 with all the late evolutions in this game so hopefully he will survive until then. Plus I needed him fro Aloe so I chose him over the fossils and I have a better Bug type than Crustle up my sleeve.
Made my way through Route 3 without problems with a bit of grinding.
Caught Timburr in Pinwheel forest as again Conkeldurr at level 25 is crazy (I love trade evolutions). This was a tough one to choose as it came down to personal preference over Throh. Sawk is frailer so wouldn't be that great in this or Nuzlocke. I also like Scraggy but didn't really want to lose the Dark type yet.
Beat Aloe with a mixture of Roggenrola and Timburr more easily than I thought I would.
Caught Sewaddle in the forest the most underrated Pokemon in the game imo. It is only really weak against Fire, Flying, and Bug but is super effective against 6 types, plus it has a good Att and Speed Base stat when it evolves plus access to Leaf Storm, Leaf Blade, X- Scissor and Swords Dance by level up :)
With a complete team I moved through the inside forest without much problem and Sewaddle evolved into Swadloon at Lv. 20
Made my way to Castella and up to route 4.
Caught a Darumaka to beat the gym. Dropped the worst member of my team, Blitzle.
Burgh got owned.
Bianca got owned, as did Cheren.
DISASTER struck in the form of a Blitzle in the Desert Resort. The trainer also had a Darumaka who I had taken out with Roggenrola who hit Lv.25 so i would of switched him out for evolution purposes to Swadloon as he had about 60% health and I didnt want to risk him. However, I forgot about Flame Charge so quickly switched him back in walling the move. But Blitzle being BLITZle was quicker than me that surprisingly knocked out my Roggenrola with Shock Wave crit. In hindsight, I didn't realize how low Roggenrola's Sp. Def was. Timburr finished off the fight to also hit lv 25. Timburr evolved as you might expect but then new to gen V (I think) so did Roggenrola! (usually one 1 pokemon evolves at a time and fainted Pokemon don't evolve) but I cancelled it.
Ironically Blitzle was called back up to the team.
Blitzle then died in one hit to an Audino as I tried to train him up >>
Evolved Gurdurr into Conkeldurr :D
Taught Sychronize to Munna over Psybeam thinking it was a normal move so Munna now has no decent attacking moves.
Swadloon evolved into Leavanny :D.
Decided to go catch a Trubbish to make up the team as there are no decent Poison types in this game apart from Scolipede.
Caught a Trubbish in the dark grass at almost same level as my team, a double mistake.
As i tried to get out the dark grass a Liepard and Minccino attacked. Thinking Leavanny was quicker I ran but could not escape due to -Speed nature :(. Leavanny then got double teamed by them both and fainted :(.
Realized Trubbish had overwritten Acid Spray for either Swallow or Stockpile so he sucks. :(
Audino trained a bit (Apparently I need it!)
Impressions to follow.

Current team:

Munna Lv. 26

Synchronoise
Return
Moonlight
Yawn

Munna has been my defensive/ support Pokemon, being able to inflict sleep and capable of taking many hits. However, replacing Psybeam for Sychronoise was a massive mistake- I dont see the point of Sychronoise can someone explain it? Return was taught so it could do some damage but is very weak as Munna is heavily biased to the Sp. Att side. Yawn is my opinion is more effective than Hypnosis and is useful for catching Pokemon. I am pleasantly surprised with Munna as a Pokemon and has been reliable so far, however, its use will now be limited until I find a decent TM or learns something by Level Up. 7/10

Trubbish Lv. 26

Take Down
Sludge
Stockpile
Swallow

I cant wait to teach this guy Acid Spray by heart scale! It is pretty poor so far as Sludge does not do a lot to anything. A lot like Blitzle in that it is only strong in Speed and nothing else, but at least it has better defense than Blitzle. Also no Toxic Spikes :(

Conkeldurr Lv. 28

Wake-Up Slap
Rock Throw
Leer
Strength

Massively Physical and was reliable as a Timburr but now is some kind of monster. All it needs now is some decent moves and this guy will be the ace in my pack for a while. The pokemon to turn to if I am in trouble and rarely lets me down. Done well so far! 10/10

Herdier Lv. 27

Return
Rock Smash
Crunch
Work Up

Quite a quiet Pokemon due to being a normal type but has been reliable and strong when needed. It is quite often the Pokemon with the lowest overall Exp. Points due to not being switched into a type advantage. I will not forget its importance at the start of the game though and I am looking forward to it evolving. I am bit annoying I got Sand Rush as my ability though. 8/10

Darumaka Lv.27

Fire Punch
Work Up
Fire Fang
Facade

Adamant nature Darumaka is amazing! Teamed up with Hustle this thing will OHKO pretty much anything but the not very effective ones. Its problem however, lies with Hustle. I am not sure how much it actually needs the attack boost and the accuracy drop is very frustating and will probably end up dying because of this ability. So far so good and hopefully that can contine for a long time. 9/10

The Deceased:

Leavanny Lv 26 - Sad this guy has gone was very strong and although he probably wouldn't of made the end due to a random Aerial Ace or something, I wished he would of stayed longer. 7/10

Roggenrola Lv 25 - Should be a Gigalith and the tank of the team now, very disappointed he is gone I wanted him until the end. Shame. 7/10

Blitzle Lv 19 - Not good at all, couldn't do damage, couldn't take a hit, leveled up slowly. Very poor 3/10 I wouldn't recommend using him.

Oshawott Lv 12 - See last update, I never keep my starter in Nuzlocke/ Elimination :(

so let me get this straight. If I have Infernape which is Fire/Fighting I can't also have Lucario which is Steel/Fighting or do I pick one type of the pokemon and not get another of that one type for either of the two types of the other pokemon? Like the optional rule number 5?

Under normal rules you wold not be able to have both Lucario and Infernape as they both share the Fighting type. Infernape will be your allocated Fire AND Fighting type and no more Fire or Fighting types can be obtained.

However, if you are playing with optional rule 5 then if you choose Infernape to be your Fighting type Pokemon, you can also have Lucario as your Steel type.

I hope that helped. Hyperblast81 I look forward to your update :D you have been added to the challengers list.

So don't think this is the quality you'll get for the rest, the rest will be longer.. Ugh.

-Started Game
-Named self Antwon (Joke between me and IRL friends)
-Named rival Jordan
-Did early game boring crap
-Picked Piplup as starter
-Named him Riptide

-Went to Sandgem, got pokeballs.
-Went to Jubilife, got Poketch and fought rival the first time. Won after about 5 minutes of Pound and Bubble spamming
-Got to Oreburgh, caught Primal the Machop.
-Did the events at the Coal Mine

-Had a decent Gym Leader seperate post that I lost.. at least for how simple of a gym that it was.

The team so far:

Riptide, the Timid Piplup (Good nature is good)
moves: Pound, Bubble, Peck, Growl
Rating: 8/10 so far, does what he needs to, and does it well, can't wait for a better STAB attack!

Primal, the Lonely Machop
Moves: Low Kick, Karate Chop, Focus Energy, Leer
Rating: 10/10 so far: Has done everything I wanted him to do and more. Probably because he's had a type advantage against all of it! I hope he stays for the long haul so I can make him Machamp!

Well, that concludes the first update, stay tuned folks!

PS: If you want to know what happened, I'm not sure, I just typed it out, clicked publish, and only the 'Team' part of the post was there.. not sure what's up with that..

Here's my first update:

Started a new game. Obtained my first Pokemon, Vulcan the Torchic, that's the first of ten types down and nine to go.Had a good fight with may almost lost (thank arceus I didn't). Got my pokedex after waiting my whole life to get it. Got my second Pokemon, Patrick (pat for short) the poochyena, so that's two out of 10. After a little bit (30 minutes) I finally found a ralts and caught it. So now I have 3 out of ten. Finally got to petalvlburg and went to see my father. Wally showed me how to catch Pokemon. Then i was off to the first gym leader.Patrick died against a lv.7 zigzagoon. Too bad I didn't like him anyway. But he was avenged by my lv 6 Artemis.Got to rustboro City and trained Artemis and Vulcan for the gym. Vulcan evolved into combusken and now have 4 types. Challenged Roxanne. Artemis died from geodudes critical rock tomb. So I now have 1 Pokemon and 6 types left. Vulcan double kicked his way too victory.

Team:
Vulcan - Combusken lv 17
Ember
Peck
Double Kick
Growl

Dead:
Artemis - Ralts - Lv 16
Patrick - Poochyena - Lv 5

So let's recap on the few events of today's Pokeymanz..

-Ran into Jordan as i was exiting Oreburgh City
-Ran into Team Galactic for the very first time up north of Jubilife
-Riptide evolved after the battle and learned Metal Claw!
-Went up the route between Jubilife and Floaroma taking out all the trainers in my way with Primal.
-Reached Floaroma, healed up, got the TM for Pluck from that little girl and saved for the night.

The Team so Far:

Riptide the Timid Prinplup
Moves: Bubble, Growl, Metal Claw, Peck
Level: 16
Rating: Same as before. Not much changed besides gaining a bit more type coverage.

Primal, the Lonely Machop
Moves: Karate Chop, Low Kick, Leer, Rock Smash
Level: 16
Rating: Not much has changed besides a few levels higher and replacing Focus Energy for Rock Smash, as I needed it to progress.

Alright, so.. I really don't know what to catch next. I haven't played platinum in such a long time so i've forgotten what I have access to. Any reccomendations? All I have planned for sure is that I want to get Houndour as soon as possible..

Shinx would be a good choice if you can train him up. Otherwise, Parichisu (spelling) is a good defensive choice. Also, Buneary and Misdreavus(in Pearl anyway) are decent choices not too far away. Also, Gible is found in the secret cave under the cycling bridge :)

named rival NOOB
named bulbasaur "Grass,,,"
almost a humiliating loss to NOOB because he got a critical hit, but Green... pulled through
got pokedex
old man taught me how to catch a pokemon
entered forest
caught "Yellow..." the pikachu
healed at center, going to grind my new "Yellow..."

But I'm thinking Bulbasaur as a starter, Pikachu in Forest, Growlithe at route 7, lapras from the employee, chansey/kangkaskan in safari zone, and dratini in safari zone or game corner. by the end of the game, i'll try to have this team.

Good luck keeping them all alive, I would advise maybe catching a Mankey at the start for extra support. Anyway, I have added you to the Challengers list.

So I played for a little while again, and here be the results.

-Loaded game up in Floaroma, make one last round to make sure I got everything
-Head over and beat the grunt guarding the entrance to the Valley Windworks, and the coward locks the door.
-Head into the grass and catch my next pokemon, A Shinx!
-Named him Overload and started using.
-Head on over to the Meadow and using the good ole switch in and out method slowly started to get Overload caught up.
-Successfully rescued the Honey man and recovered the Windwork's key!
-Took out Mars' 2 grunts and then engaged in a battle with her.

Mini-boss: Galactic Commander Mars:

-So I led off with Overdrive against Zubat and switched out to Riptide as she landed the Toxic.
-I hit it with a few Bubble's and then decided the toxic was hurting too much and healed it.
-Finished off Zubat with a critical Bubble from half health.
-Purugly came out and I switched to Primal (I'm still on shift)
-I'm thinking, "Well, this things fat, lets hit it with a Low Kick" and yeah, it does about 66%, activating the Oran Berry.. ON THE SECOND TURN!
-It hits me for about 30% of my health with Fake Out and another 30% with Scratch the next turn.
-At this point, I don't want to risk dying to a crit, so I do some Potionspamming (It did about 16-18 damage so I slowly gained health)
-When I was finally at the point where I thought I could survive a crit, I finish off Purugly with a Karate Chop!

-Team Galactic leaves and I head back to town to heal, and then accidentally fight the first trainer on the route to Eterna, where I beat his Ponyta.
-Afterwards, I quickly fight a Shellos in the grass with Overload and OHKO it with Spark.
-Ding! Level 15. Goodbye Shinx! Hello Luxio!
-Save and stop for a while.

The Team so Far:

Riptide, the Timid Prinplup
Ability: Torrent
Moves: Peck, Bubble, Metal Claw, Growl

Analysis: 6/10: Getting worse and worse as I go on, He really needs a better water attack than Bubble. It should be cool when I get BubbleBeam though.

Primal, the Lonely Machop
Ability: No Guard
Moves: Low Kick, Rock Smash, Karate Chop, Leer

Analysis: 9/10: Can do whatever he freakin' wants! No but seriously, he's solid, he can hit even resisting targets for a good 2 / 3 hit KO. Can't wait for Machamp.

Overload, the Jolly Luxio (What is it with these good natures!?)
Ability: Rivalry
Moves: Spark, Charge, Tackle, Leer

Analysis: ?/10: Was extremely frail before evolving, perhaps evolution has changed that fact. Only time will tell.

I'll sign up for an Ultimate, but won't play/update until I finish my UMC electric, so, yeah:

Name: Zeus2398
Games: Red, Crystal, Emerald, Platinum, Black
Optional Rules: 5

So will start at some point in the near future, but not yet

EDIT: Am starting now, but I might not be frequently posting, since this is not the only challenge. Won't be an update for a while

EDIT 2: Am gonna postpone this for a while, to finish my UMC off. I like to have all my time devoted to one challenge

Just lost in the most embarrassing way possible

So I was going through Eterna Forest with Cheryl, using Riptide. The first set of trainers was a Pachirisu and Beautifly. I quickly Metal Claw the Pachirisu, forgetting it was electric. You guess what happens next.

Pachirisu used Spark.
Its super effective
A critical Hit!
Riptide fainted.

At this point, I'm in some kind of rage, I send in Primal and he gets parahaxed to death by spark and gust..

Then, I finish off the fight with Overdrive, and on my way back to Floaroma to give the dead a proper burial, I forgot I had skipped a hiker, and he fights me with a Geodude that I can do NOTHING to (I dont have Bite yet). So I try and spamtackle it down but it wins the tackle fight (Out of items from Mars, forgot to restock.)

GG game.. GG.

I have added Zeus and Ganton to the Challengers list, and Ganton will also be put onto the failures list along with hyperblast81. Seems this challenge is harder than expected. Anyway, I had lost my r4 for a week or so but have new just found it so I can resume my challenge :)

PS. I would love some more updates/challengers ;)

EDIT 2: Forgot Jespoke already tried the challenge, so one person might be joining instead of two...

Thank you :) I look forward to your updates as you seem to be getting through your Electric UMC quickly.

EDIT: Just a small update.

Caught Vannilite outside the cool storage Lv.26. He should sit around in my team as backup for now until he evolves... so frail... but Vanillish is alright and Vanilluxe is decent.
Dawg the Herdier evolved into Dawg the Stoutland :)
Cleaned out Cold Storage and Route 6
Shofu the Conkeldurr defeated Clay single handedly with a nice attack boost from Krokorok's Swagger.
Next Stop: Electric Stone Cave

Current Team: (Wont do impressions yet)

Shofu the Conkeldurr Lv.33
Dawg the Stoutland Lv.32
Alla Dat! the Darumaka Lv.31
Friday the Trubbish Lv. 27
Coco the Vannilite Lv. 26
Munna the Munna Lv. 26

Yeah... good spot :) do you know what reference Trubbish is??

Yeah I watched Shofu as well a while back (Before I had BW). Not a clue where Friday the Trubbish comes from though... I spend too much time on the computer looking at updates on challenges, I need to speed up on Platinum section of my Electric UMC (Two badges, soon to be three :))

Um, yeah, a question. If you have pokemon in storage, and your whole team faints, can you carry on, or is it game over :0? Also, if you fail an Ultimate, do you start fully again, or from the start of the region (Depending if you wanna continue). Cause if you fail in the E4 on Black, on an Ulti, then people are gonna be on a rampage... Also, say you have a Nidoran, but using optional rule 5, you use it as a Ground type, and it faints, because it is not yet a ground type, does it rule out Ground (as you meant it to be), or Poison?

Yeah I have been watching him recently but have stopped now because I spent too much time wathing Youtube and I have just got my first full time job. Yeah, again I spend to much time reading other updates on this forum too but I am wayyy slower than you at completing challenges.

As for your questions, Nidoran can only be Poison type using optional rule 5 and you can catch another ground type whatever happens to it. If you aren't using optional rule 5 and it faints before it is Nidoking/queen then you can still catch a ground type as you have never had a ground type. Another example would be you can have a Chimchar and a Machop but Chimchar CANNOT evolve.

If you get swept and have Pokemon in your box then it is your call (I would personally continue). As for the Ultimate each you only have to restart the region, otherwise it would be quite harsh. Especially because the start of the game is proving to be quite difficult for people and sometimes you can be unlucky.

For the Trubish: Rebecca Black? If thats the case, it fits well :P

For the Nidoran: I think you cant use pokemon for a type they're not yet.

Correct it is Rebecca Black :D and you are correct for Nidoran :)

Scolipede is the best Bug-type in my opinion but is heavily let down by its second type compared to the others I used (Leavanny, Crustle, Galvantula, Durant, Volcarona) so much I dropped it for Shuckle after the E4 (which pretty much soloed to second E4). Remember to give Scolipede Megahorn via heart scale though. What is your planned team if you have one?

RE: last sentence: Thank you :) I kind of designed the challenge for interesting reading seeing which Pokemon people choose (why I dont like the 5th optional rule lol) and how they do. I find Nuzlocke a lot more intersting to read than say a duo species challenege.

I'm gotta use Scolipede, Crustle, Durant, Volcarona (With people always say appears too late to use, through you can get the egg after 6. gym) and maybe Galvantula. I cant trade, so i cant get Accelgor and Escavalier though

Um, I'm gonna re-sign up, becuase I've decided to change a few things:

Username: Zeus2398
In-game name: Zeus
Games: FR, HG, Ruby, Platinum, Black
Ultimate: Yes
Starters: Squirtle, Cyndaquil, Treecko, Chimchar, Oshawott
Optional rules: 3, 5

Also, maybe as an optional rule, you can use Revives (:0) but ONLY against really hard people e.g E4, Red, Champion etc? Also, what if you're given a pokemon without wanting to, such as the Lapras in Silph.co? Do you have to use it (If you don't already have it's type(s)?

Also, still got ages to go before taking on this challenge, still because I need to conquer the Electric UMC (Three badges, took a while to train Rotom :)), and the favourite challenge. Gonna spend ages on this challenge, overlevelling FTW! (No emulator, all actual, so...)

No problem, but not against gym leaders (E4 is the first time you can and lets say each Pokemon gets an added life if you want). As for Lapras etc. You don't have to use it, release ASAP if you arent going to use it.

Anyway update time!

Started making my way through Chargestone Cave (this took forvever!)
Had a scare with Friday the Trubbish against a Hone Claws x1 Pursuit as I switched out. 8HP left...
Had a scare again with friday against a 3x Quiver Dancing Lilligant, switched into Alla Dat! (Darumaka) got Teeter Danced hit by confusion, switched to Shofu (Conkeldurr) to just about clean up.
Got outside and went straight for the move relearner. Found out I only had 1 heart scale :( (I wanted 4)
Went back to Driftevil to get another one
Re-taught Munna Psybeam (he is useful again :D) *Remember I taught Schoyronise over it as its only attacking move*
Taught Dawg (Stoutland) Thunder Fang for the next gym
Felt bad for not giving Trubbish Toxic Spikes and Acid Spray but he had just learnt Slugde Bomb
Alla Dat! evolved in Darmanitan :D
Saved in Route 7
Current Team:

Shofu the Conkeldurr Lv 35: Wake Up Slap, Rock Slide, Bulldoze, Bulk Up

Just about takes the MVP title so far. A hard hitting physical tank at this point in the game, nothing has got close to taking it out except for a 3x Quiver Dancing Lilligant but Shofu got the job done as usual.

Alla Dat! the Darmanitan Lv 35: Flare Blitz, Flame Punch, Hammer Arm, Work Up

Second place MVP and will most likely take that mantle from here. Has just learnt Flare Blitz (this guy learns great moves early on), removed Hustle for Sheer Force (one of the best abilities) and now has extra coverage with Hammer Arm. Plus he looks awesome :D Looking forward to training him further.

Dawg the Stoutland Lv 34: Return, Crunch, Thunder Fang, Work Up

3rd place goes to Dawg because at this point in the game he is brilliant. Although no stats jump out at you like the above two he is a great all rounder and a handy go to for a quick kill. I am hoping Thunder Fang will help preserve him from here as Normal types only go downhill from this stage. (No type advantage) However, I must remember how much I relied on him at the start of the game (I needed him over Oshawott)

Friday the Trubbish Lv 31: Sludge Bomb, Take Down, Stockplie, Swallow

Ughhh, I hate Poison types, he has a type advantage over a whole 1 type and no moves to change that. I wish he had Acid Spray so he can sweep and Toxic Spikes for support if I ever need that with my top 3. I haven't looked when he evolves but I hope he does soon (don't tell me) and he has a significant improvement. On the plus side however he can take a hit.

Coco the Vannilite Lv 29: Avalanche, Mirror Shot, Taunt, Mist

Again she is soooooooo frail... I have to be extra careful with her. She as spent most of the time sitting at the front of the party with a Lucky Egg (this guy levels up slowly remember about 4 levels behind with the same amount of Exp) being switched out from anything that isn't Sandile or pathetically weak to keep up with the rest (kind of). Hopefully she can help out against Skyla as Shofu won't be doing much and Ice Beam will be great when he finally evolves into Vanillite.

Munna the Munna Lv 29: Psybeam(new), Charge Beam(also new), Nightmare (again this is new), Yawn

A completely new moveset for a Pokemon that was so useless I couldn't be bothered to train it (this was my fault however). I haven't used it yet- only switch baited it up to a decent level. Hopefully it is as decent as it was before and I will wait until it learns Psychic before evolving it unless it is absolutely useless. LVP at the moment but that may shift to Coco or Friday soon if he is any good now.

The deceased: (Read my earlier updates to see what I thought of them)

Oshawott Lv.12
Roggenrola Lv.25
Blitzle Lv.18
Leavanny Lv.26

Types left to use: Dark, Flying, Ground, Ghost, Dragon, Steel

Planned catches: Bisharp, Golurk and Haxorus OR Cofagrigus, Excadrill, Mandibuzz and Haxorus depending on what happens.

Wait, an extra life for E4 battles, or just if it ever dies, it can be revived (Like, healed, not using actual revives) once, in the whole game? Um, are you gonna add it to the rules, or ? Also, why are you on the failed list?

No I meant if you are going to heal a fainted Pokemon you can only ever do this once per Pokemon and only during the E4 or Red. I am not going to put this on the rules list because I don't want lots of people doing it.

I am on the failed list because I lost to Cheren after the 1st badge but have started again.

No I am not going to use revives! It will take away the satisfaction of completing the challenge imo. I may not defeat Alder in my game as the end of the game is boring and i hate grinding so I doubt I will ever beat Red, maybe the E4 the second time after Johto though.

Very short update...

I battled 3 trainers on Route 7 and lost Shofu to a rain boosted Scald 2HKO however I survived the hits (I knew I would) but the second one burnt me with 5 HP left so I defeated the Simipour and fainted after burn damage :(.
The very next trainer I lost Coco to a Future Sight attack from a Solosis.

I may have to go for the second team now as I am running low on Pokemon.

-Bought some Potions and head up route 2 (? The one before Striaton) and caught a Lillipup, because, well, I need him for the gym and there's no other good Normal types in Unova.
-Entered Striaton, healed and saved for the session.

The team so far:

FullForce, the Lonely Tepig
Ability: Blaze
Attacks: Tackle, Ember, Tail Whip, Odor Sleuth

Fredrick, the Jolly (OMG) Lillipup
Ability: Vital Spirit
Attacks: Leer, Tackle, Odor Sleuth, Bite

No impressions, because the beginning is boring.

So no Darmanitan for you! Now we have 3 people who have updated on B/W with 3 different starters. Not that mine lasted long anyway.

Anyway, in new controversial news...

If you have not updated in 1 month then you are placed on the failed list until you complete the challenge, as I will assume you are too embarassed to post that you have failed and your repuation as a hardened Pokemon challenger will be tarnished!

In other controversial news I have added jespoke to the failed list as he quit :) gasp...

Anyway kinda small update:

After my recent small disaster (lost Conkeldurr and Vanillite) I decide I need some more team members.
Therefore my decent options are Yamask and Drillbur form my types left.
Caught Phar-oh? the Yamask and Rufus the Drillbur
Audinos became my best friend once again, for an hour or so.
Taught Friday(Trubbish) Acid Spray by Heart Scale (finally)
Rufus evolved into Excadrill
Phar-oh evolved into Cofagrigus
Munna learnt Psychic and evolved into Musharna
Friday evolved into Garbodor :) never thought I would see the day when I first got him.
With my new fully evolved team I took out the Celestial Tower and every trainer in Route 7.
Mishralton Gym Trainers went n-nyts
Musharna and Charge Beam swept Skyla.
Team (in usefulness order and then Badges obtained)
Alla Dat! the Lv.38 Darmanitan, 4
Dawg the Lv.38 Stoutland, 6
Musharna the Lv.40 Musharna, 5
Rufus the Lv.36 Excadrill, 1
Phar-oh? the Lv.36 Cofagrigus, 1
Friday the Lv.36 Garbodor, 3
Left to catch (Planned) Axew, Vullaby

Right ok, so Porygon Z (who was so close), misteryman1, pokepokemo and Slash Arena have all been put into the HALL OF SHAME.

So after 1 and a half months, 70 something replies and about 10 failures, I have not crowned a single champion!!! Do you guys want your final teams to be put up on the first page with impressions when/if you win? because I may do some overall thread awards as well. (ideas are welcome)

Zeus, I have changed you from Ultimate to Crystal on the challengers list.

Kinda hoping someone will do a video playthrough ;)

After I got the pokeballs I caught Geodude(Rock),Hoothoot(Flying) and Spinarak(Bug).Grinded ,but Flying died.RIP Flying, beated Bellsprout Tower and challenged the Gym,defeated it, got the Togepi egg saved and went to do some things for school.

Bug the Spinarak lvl 12

I would like to try the challenge.

I will be playing on Pokemon Yellow, I will be playing with optional rules 1, 2, 3, and 4. This should be...interesting. I suppose I should try to blind-man dark cave.

In addition, because it isn't really clear with the Rule 1 and Rule 2 combo, I am going to interpret that as I have a max of 10 types of moves as well. So Pikachu, with his starting growl and thundershock uses two of my max types of moves (Electric and Normal) but he does not take up the spot of my normal Pokemon, should I want one.

Obviously, my starter will be Pikachu.

First Update:

I woke up utterly bored in Pallet town one day. Mom suggested I look for work over the summer. I ran away. When I was running, some old guy chased me down and demanded that I come with him because it's dangerous out in the wilderness. Yeah right! Like ravenous pokemon stalk the wilds, waiting for poor chaps like me to get fed up with boring life in Pallet town and choose to ohmygod it's a ravenous pikachu stalking the wilds waiting for poor chaps like me to get fed up with boring life in Pallet town!

Several hours of lecturing later, he gave me the pikachu (Oh boy. I get to walk around with a wild, untamed beast.) and forced me to use it to fight his grandson's dog-fox-thing. It made some really sparks and shocked the other guy's pet to death. COOL! I oughta get me one of...oh right. I did. The old man, angry that I killed his grandson's pet, threw me out of town and sent me on an errand to get something for him or else he'd tell my Mom. Well...crap. I saddled up my cool new friend and we went to the next town to pick it up.

Along the way, birds and rats pecked and bit at us, but the little beast took care of all of them. I decided to call it Burst. I really started liking it.

Burst and I grabbed the mysterious package from under the counter of a shady shop and hustled back to the creepy old guy. I suspected it contained a ball of drugs. He affirmed that and revealed his Grandson, who had been following me secretly with a video camera. He had me on tape purchasing the drugs. Oh no! The creepy old guy demanded that I go collect some data for him or else he would release the video to the police. What could I do? I agreed.

Back in Viridian City, I traveled west a bit. I ran into a Spearow. I thought it would make a good friend for Burst, so I sent him over to say Hi. Unfortunately, I forgot that Burst, while cool, is a wild untamed beast. He shocked the poor bird to death in one blast of light.

One pile of ash later, we found a cool Monkey-abomination and decided to befriend it. Thankfully, it was tough enough to get over Burst being Burst. I named our new pal Dudders (Mankey, Fighting).

I patched Dudders up and we three fast friends wandered around town throwing rocks (and electric bolts of death, mayhem, and destruction) at birds, watching them scatter. (Or die, in the case of Burst's targets)

I think Dudders really looked up to Burst. He worked hard on getting as cool as Burst while we went. Still. He was weak compared to Burst.

We headed north into a great Forest. So many bugs...so little bug spray. Burst had lots of fun zapping everything that came near him. I just wish he'd stop zapping me too...

I let Dudders take the lead, scratching out the eyes of everything that came near us in honor of Burst. He did marvelously against the pesky bugs, but occasionally, a bird swooped by and Burst had to help him out. Oh, the shame! At one point, a caterpillar nearly took him out after the bird pecked at him!

I never would have been able to live down losing one of my pokemon types to a caterpie.

Thankfully, Burst saved him, just in the nick of time.

After healing and returning, Dudders put his game face on. Unfortunately, right off the bat, we ran into a bird double the level of Dudders. I sent Burst out to save the day. He didn't disappoint.

After that episode, we went through the forest, beating up any kids we found and taking their lunch money. Tee hee. The three of us bonded over the cruel psychological damage we were inflicting on minors. Burst would finally smile at me!

Finally, we cleared our way through the Forest. After patching ourselves up, we went to explore the town. We quickly got bored when we noticed the only entertainment was a museum. We decided to leave the city behind, but some git refused to let us past unless we beat some guy named Brock in some gym.

There were witnesses nearby, so I made sure Burst didn't just kill the idiot. We sighed and headed over to the building indicated to find this "Brock". Dudders, made strong by the rigorous toils in the forest, demolished the two pets guarding the entrance to the gym.

We decided to try, after healing, to take down this Brock fellow. Dudders is Level 11 and Burst is level 10.
Gulp.

Well, my fears were completely wrong. Dudders lived up to Burst's skill and tore Brock apart. Tee hee. Back to taking money from kids to the east. Huzzah!

Dudders and Burst alternated between bullying the kids. Boy, I'm going to get rich on this adventure!

Eventually, we came to a great cave entrance. Just inside, there were monsters and even more people with larger pockets!

It looks like I'll have to decide now...Should I catch a fairy to sell later, or keep my team to two until I can get better choices?

I think I'll end there for today.

Pokemon:

Burst, the Pikachu
Level 14
Thundershock, Quick Attack, Tail Whip, Thunder Wave

This little guy has been rocking most of the trainer fights and a majority of the wilderness. I had to make sure to take him off several times just to help Dudders keep up!

Dudders, the Mankey
Level 14
Scratch, Leer, Low Kick

Dudders is the MVP of gyms so far, obviously. We'll see if he can keep the good work up. He is nice for those pesky Rat trainers and I think he will be good for running around the cave, but he just doesn't seem to have the explosive skill of Burst.

Pokemon Types (Colored = used):

Fire, Water, Bug, Grass, Poison, Ground, Rock, Electric, Psychic, Ghost, Dragon, Flying, Normal, Fighting, Ice

Move Types:

Fire, Water, Bug, Grass, Poison, Ground, Rock, Electric, Psychic, Ghost, Dragon, Flying, Normal, Fighting, Ice

Future Desired Pokemon:
Diglett, Drowzee (Or maybe Mr. Mime...Abra is used too much!), Tangela, Ponyta, Staryu (I have never gotten around to using that one...I don't know why)

The other three slots I'll save for a normal, ice moves (Possibly switching for a dual water/ice, but I really want to try the star), and Poison moves. I doubt I'll get around to picking up a 10th pokemon to fill the poison slot...I hope I don't need it!

Now that I look at that list, I'm seeing a problem already...no one knows cut in time! Looks like I'll be switching Tangela for Bellsprout...Plus, if I want Mr. Mime I'll have to use up my normal catch with the Clefairy. Choices, choices.

Plus, for that matter, Staryu upgrades into a dual type...Doh! I'll need to figure something else out there.

Wow, what an unexpected update! It seems you have chosen t make this the hardest possible challenge you can think of! As for Mr. Mime... dont you need an Abra to obtain him or is it Clefairy.

One of my favourite things about this challenge is that you really do have to think about which Pokemon you use and you have made it very hard on yourself! Are you not going to use any starters(Bulb, charm, squirt)?

I would be surprised if you don't have to use your 10th spot though but good luck and keep up the awesome quality of updates :)

Abra is for Red/Blue. Clefairy is the needed trade in Yellow.

The starters are too...common. I want to go with ones I haven't used in the original 150. Or, in the very least, weird ones.

Yes, well, I may fall flat on my face once I get to Misty. I remember games when Starmie just demolished Pikachu...gulp.

Update: After I somehow managed to take down Misty, my rom had an issue. *sighs* Going to have to restart from a fresh file. It's a shame. Ringer (My snazzy new Bellsprout) and Burst took Misty down and taught her a few lessons...I was expecting a much tougher fight!

God, I really need to start this challenge... I'll do it when I complete my UMC Grass: Red section... But, I'm halfway through a run on Crystal... So, the games to have file I don't have a file on are: Firered, HG/SS, Ruby, Platinum, Black. However, I dont want to play it on Black, and Hoenn is my least fav region, so, Firered, HG/SS, or Platinum, hold on while I find a random list or something... Not doing Firered, because just done a Kanto game... Platinum! Right, sign me up for Platinum, sorry that I keep changing, lol.

Ghost: Gastly/Haunter/Gengar
Grass: Carnivine
Ground: Rhyhorn/Rhydon/Rhyperior
Ice: Snover/Abomasnow
Normal: Porygon/Porygon2/Porygon-Z
Poison: Tentacool/Tentacruel
Psychic: Ralts/Kirlia/Gardevoir
Rock: Cranidos/Rampardos (Will hack as soon as I get my explorer kit, hate the underground + really small chance of actually finding the fossil
Steel: Bronzor/Bronzong
Water: Magikarp/Gyarados

So, yeah, could make a pretty good team outta that :).

Zeus it is fine to hack them in, use a random generator or something for the nature/ ivs ;).

CWP, you cancelled your evolution?? interesting... and is Aron Rock or Steel? (combusken must be Fire btw). Are you doing the optional rule 5??

I am starting to realize I dont actually like optional rule 5... ho-hum...

Hacki, yeah i cancelled it cause i was looking at the wrong move let list that said Kirlia learns Psychic at lvl 36 and i was like may as well just grab it at 26. And i decided not to do the optional rule five so just count them as dual types. Though i kinda wanted to get both flygon and salamance :(

Very small update, just cause:

Name: Zeus
Rival: Barry
Starter: Chimchar

- Started game
- Did some beginning stuff
- Chose Chimchar
- Lost to Barry because of three crit Pounds
- Restarted
- Did all that again, except I won this time
- Got dragged to the lake, to find out I don't have any P-O-K-E-accent-balls
- Went to Sandgem
- Got pokedex
- Did everything up to Jubilife
- Beat trainers in school, got a potion
- Got Town Map
- Got Poketch
- Got Water the Magikarp (an almighty level six)
- Tried to train it, started pulling my hair, so I stopped >:O
- Gonna evolve Chimchar before taking on Barry (For some reason...) I've actually never done a Nuzlocke nor Elimination before, so yeah...

Fire the Bashful Chimchar, lv13
http://www.dragonflycave.com/plsprites-frame1/390m.png
Scratch, Leer, Ember, Taunt

Water the Careful Magikarp lv7

Can anyone suggest a training spot for Magikarp early on?

Oh ok! Fair point if that was true (I just did the same thing myself-looking at 5th gen Pokedex on serebii??) :P Flygon isn't even worth it imo, it has such a bad moveset and I tried it on Snakewood but got bored of it sucking.

Wow that is an early evolution(I evolve him for Roark)... I never have the patience to grind so much... probably why I can never complete Nuzlocke runs...

As for Magikarp... nope! You should train it up to Lv.20 when your other Pokemon are there, its quicker with higher exp ;).

2nd Update

Beat everyone on the beach at Slateport training up Ferric.
Went and cleaned out Team Aqua from the museum, Had a scare with ferric who dropped to 3 hp, Pulled through though like a champ and grew to lvl 15
Decided to go through the Trick house and disaster nearly struck down both Ferric and Vi! I nearly cried but Kylar subbed in pulled through killing the Marill and Skitty. Trick House finished with Ferric on lvl 16
Saw May, looked at my party and decided i didnt want to lose anyone yet so turned around and ran away like a little baby.

Went back to May,

Ferric beat Lombre, She sends out Marshstomp, I reply with Kylar. Double kick her once, does a crit doing over half hp. one she uses water gun. 1 hp left on Kylar Double kick again and kill Marshstomp just, nearly crying. Ferric finishes off Slugma and I teleport back to Slateport to worship Kylar for living for me.
Went around Mauville beating the trainers and raising my pokemon
Beat Wally with Vi. Trained a little bit more and went to Verdanturf Town.
Went back and got a bike and trained down cycling road
Vi evolve into Kirlia at lvl 26 after learning Psychic.:)
Decided theres no time like the present and charged into the Mauville gym
Last double battle of the trainers in my way and Ferric got double teamed and only survived with 3 hp :S
Wattson sucks. Nearly Killed my whole team, Vi - 1 hp - Ferric - 1 hp - Kylar - 13 hp Vi got lucky with her surviving i believe.. so did Ferric, Was surprised he didnt drop but good old Kylar Did it for me again! Love that guy :)
Sadly while challenging the Winstrates Ferric got OHKO'd by the old lady's Meditites Hi jump kick :( Though he was useless anyway..
Went through the cave and beat all the trainers to the soot fields.
While battling a little ninja Vi grew to level 30 and evolved into my beautiful Gardevoir
Went to meteor falls and scared off team magma with team aquas help.. (like i needed it though, team magma was running scared!)
Jumped out down near Rustboro town and beat some trainers and got some berries.
Teleported back to Falabour town with Vi's help.
Ran to Mt. Chimney! Had to have a breather once I got there, bloody big run there.
After resting up and having a little break decided Id go and pwn team magma, 1 Hit them all then 1 hit Maxie as well, hes an epic noober.
Walked through the Lavaridge gym with Vi.

Flannery:

1 hit all her pokemon with Psychic. Pretty boring really.
Finally got the go-goggles and went hunting for a trapinch.

Went to the mirage sandcastle and caught Durzo the trapinch
Hit head against wall when i read post from Hacki, though bonus that durzo was holding soft sand!
Saved in the tower.

Kylar the combusken:
Level 34
Scratch
Peck
Double Kick
Ember

My absolute savior, pretty much the only reason Vi has survived.

Viridiana the Gardevoir:
Level 33
Psychic
Confusion
Double Team
Teleport

My sweeper, my beautiful, my love <3

Durzo the Trapinch:
Dig
Bite
Sand Attack
Faint Attack

Best not be useless..

Rip:

Thanks Hacki, never got to see half your messages because of school, which, speaking of, has only got two weeks left :). Looking forward to that. I haven't actually played anything today, been on the computer all day. Btw, Hacki, I can't use random generator, I'm using AR DS, which is all complicated-y, so, yeah...they come with natures the same as wild ones would normally. So, completely random, so I don't need any nature changing stuff, ya know?

For all of them, or just the best ones? Here is one:

From Start to End:
A pokemon that survived and was useful from start to end.
Receivers: Jespoke: Poison(Nidoking)

That is my idea for an award setup. You can write the awards name, a description, and then the ones that have received it with:
username: nickname(species)

What do you think? :)

3rd update! Im updating every 2 gyms

So grinded Durzo for SOOOOOO long while getting him to evolve into Vibrava :)

Then I decided to go beat down Dad and ran back to Petalburg where I evolved Kylar into a Blaziken by taking down all the gym trainers

Dad:

Decided to level up Vi so had her go out first.
She OHKO'd all of Dads pokemon.
Went and caught ***** the zigzagoon and taught it surf :)

After Dad:

Made my way to the weather institution beating all trainers who opposed me!

May:

One hit her whole team.
Went to Lilycove, training on the way.
Teleported back to Fortree and 1 hit all the trainers up to Winona

Winona:

1 hit Swablu With Psychic
1 hit Pelipper with Psychic
1 hit Tropius with Blaze Kick
1 hit Skarmory with Blaze Kick
2 hit Altaria with Dragonbreath thanks to a crit :) and the 6th badge is mine muahahahahaha

Post 6th Badge:

Beat Team Aqua in their base, went to mossdeep and got my super rod and went hunting for Feebas!
6 ingame hours later I catch Feebas and name her Karris.
Spend halfa making good pokeblocks for her and got her beauty maxed
Evolved her into Milotic with a rare candy and taught her Surf.
Trained her in Team magma base as I kicked them outta the volcano.

Saved Back in Mossdeep.

Team:

Kylar the Blaziken:
Level 42
Slash
Peck
Double Kick
Blaze Kick

Basically my go to. If Im scared Kylar will sub in and get the job
done for me and survive!

Viridiana the Gardevoir:
Level 42
Psychic
Confusion
Double Team
Teleport

Beautiful, love her. Basically 1 hits anything that gets in the way
absolute sweeping machine.. (No wonder she's a she!)

Durzo the Vibrava:
Level 43
Crunch
Dragonbreath
Fly
Dig

Squishy as! But.. Since evolving into Vibrava hasnt come close to dying and pretty much does enough damage to survive any battle where hes
not getting critted or super effective against.

Karris the Milotic:
Level 36
Surf
Splash
Recover
Tackle

She is amazing, First Milotic Ive ever had. Actually so strong. Could become an amazing team member :)

Sooo much to catch up on!! Thanks guys :D

CWP, so Durzo has been grinded like crazy huh?? Very close to a Flygon will probably survive from then... and :O Milotic! You sir/mam have some patience :)

Darksualc, welcome to the challenge/thread! Good luck with your adventure through Hoenn... interesting that you 2 both chose Ralts. You shall be added to the challengers list.

Zeus, nice team, hopefully you wont have to dip into your reserves, although you have too many Pokemon for my liking! I may take the 5th optional rule away as it spoils the challenge in my opinion. Thoughts? people who are already using it can still use it though.

Jespoke, I like the layout/ award and will update the first post with it. You can give as many awards as you want! When someone completes the challenge, I am thinking they must give a unique award to one of their Pokemon and the awards the previous winners have made. Thoughts?

I think you shouldn't force them to think of an award, as it can result in really stupid awards :l

But letting the winners submit their own awards is a good idea, and having them get the same awards as the others (If they fit) is my good idea :P

Here are my last awards:

Most reliable OHKO'er:
A Pokemon that you could rely on being able to defeat opponents quickly.
Receivers: Jespoke: Flying (Dodrio)

The positive surprise:
A Pokemon that by far exceeded its expectations
Receivers: Jespoke: Fighting (Hitmonlee)

Fell free to edit the titles of these too, I'm not that good at thinking of original names (Except for my Pokemon in challenges where the nickname serves no specific purpose like this one :P)

Added to the challengers list, but I am confused with your last paragraph. I think you mean if you lose against the first battle you can carry on regardless, which is acceptable as the pre-game talks are sooo boring and all you have done is lose exp.

Caught Torkoal (Fire) in the fire-cave-thing (Can't remember the names in Emerald).
Got to the meteorite-cave-thing where I caught Seviper (Poison).
Beat team Magma down from the volcano.
Swept Flannery with water (her Torkoal survived one Bubblebeam but it only used Tackle).
Skipped the dessert for now and took to the 5th gym.
Defeated all the trainers but got cocky and thought Poison could survive a Sword Dance boosted Slash from a Zangoose. Poison died and Fire had to revenge him.
Took on Norman leading of with Grass and his Leaf Blade (he's still lvl 32:\). Then I proceed to use Fire who used Curse 6 times and slaughtered with Body Slam.
Went to that electric place and caught a Magnemite (Ele Steel).

Hi, sorry for no update, and no progress, was caught up in other (useless, unneeded) stuff. Currently training that damn Magikarp at Valley Windworks...DS is low on charge, gonna stick it on the charger, play it later... can't stand being tied to one place, I like freedom... Gonna stare at some nuzlocke comics/ Play grass UMC: Red.

EDIT: GBA is low on charge too, nuzlocke comics it is XD.

EDIT2: Sorry Hacki, dropping out, this is a harder nuzlocke, so I'm gonna do some of them first (On the nuzlocke forum, rather than here). I may try again some time!

Finished the game

At the Weather Institute I was forced to take a Castform so I named it Normal and trained it but when I caught Dark the Absol in the city shortly afterwards I boxed him.
Dark became my HM slave.
I found out that I didn't have enough types left to get a flying pokemon (All flying pokemons are dual types).
Defeated the 6th gym and did the Magma/Aqua stuff.
I Mossdeep City I defeated the Twins in the gym (Psychics Trace ability copied Levitate making it immune to Earthquake :bandit:)
Did more Aqua stuff and the Legend stuff.
Sweept the last gym with Grass and Ele Steel.
Trained everybody to lvl 50 and got through Victory Road.

The Elite Four:

Sidney was a joke with Fire and Ele Steel

Pheobe was taken out by Psychic and Ele Steel

Glacia was 5 OHKO's by Ele Steel and Fire

Drake was the first challenge with his Kingdra but with Water able to stall it I won fairly unharmed.

Wallace did give me some trouble.
I had to stall Milotec with Water but the rest was a joke...
Until Gyarados. That thing is scary. I send out Ele Steel to kill it with Thunderbolt but it was faster then me and used Earthquake.
Then I send in Grass to Power hit it and kill it that way but it survived a couple of hits and in the end had almost no HP left as it used Hyperbeam too kill Grass.
I send in Water and killed Gyarados with Return.

I'm now the Champion.

Btw did u ask if I want a unique reward? Or is it just Durzo? =)

I actually want to award Fire the Torkoal with a "Most Steady Pokemon" award since it always came out on top in its battle even though it was slower then a Snorlax.

Most reliable OHKO'er is a tie between Grass and Psychic so no award there.

Then there is "The Wall" award that goes to Water for being a wall in my battles against the Elite Four (and the last gym to some degree).

uhh, don't remember if I need anything else. Here goes! I'll try to be good with my screenshots this time. I'm just going to do thumbnails, because enlarging the pictures each time is a pain.

Beginning to Brock
So, I started with the usual, named myself A and Rival LOZER. Hehehe his parents don't love him.
I realized I haven't used a Starmie (my favorite Pokemon) in a while, so when asked which starter to use, I ruled out Squirtle. I also wanted to be able to use Fly, and since Charizard can't learn it, Bulbasaur it is. I asked him what his name was, and he said Planter.
LOZER was easy to beat.
Did Oak's Parcel quest. Then I caught a Spearow who went by the name of Radar.
After some grinding, we took on LOZER's team once more. He added a Pidgey to his roster. Is he doing this challenge too?
From there, I pretty much pecked my way through Viridian Forest, and then Vine Whipped my way through Brock.

Here's some screenies. Every important battle will have 2. One where it says I beat them, and one of the status of my team after the fight.

Brock to Misty
That wasn't too bad. Radar was getting a bit underleveled, so I fixed that problem by beating all the trainers to Mt. Moon with him.
Right in the entrance, I caught Cannonball the Geodude.
I caught him up in levels. Missed the screenie of Planter evolving
We then flew through Mt. Moon (yeah, I'm that good. I'm flying and I don't have the Thunderbadge yet.)
On the other side, I challenged LOZER to another fight real quick.
Sped through to Bill. Radar evolved in the process.
Planter handled Misty handily.

Sign me up on Emerald!
Starter: Mudkip (water + ground)

I started the game, picked the girl sprite and named myself Meri.
Picked Mudkip as starter (Jolly nature) and went to fight Brendan.
Caught a Poochyena (Adamant nature)
Beat all the trainers on route 102 and did the Wally thing.
Made my way through Rustboro Forest.

Challenging Roxanne!

Team:

Poochyena lvl 13, Adamant
Tackle
Sand-Attack
Howl
Bite

Mudkip lvl 13, Jolly
Tackle
Growl
Mud Slap
Water Gun

I hoped Poochyena would be of some use at least with Bite.
But no, the Rock attacks were too strong.
After two of Geodude's attacks Poochyena's Health reached the red zone.
So I had to switch into Mudkip. Who knocked out all of Roxanne's pokémon.
With that, the first badge is in!

Types used so far: Water, Ground, Dark
Types eliminated: None yet
Badges: 1

All right! Next part!

Did some training on route 116.
I caught a Hasty natured Whismur!
Caught a Nincada (CUT slave)
Mudkip evolved into Mashtomp!
Fought Brendan
Whismur evolved into Loudred!
Poochyena evolved into Mightyena!

Boxed Loudred and Mightyena until I need them again.
On to Dewford Town!
Caught a bashful natured Aron! (steel + rock)

Types used so far: Normal / Dark / Water / Ground / Rock / Steel
Types eliminated: none yet

Gym Battle!

Team:

Marshtomp lvl 25 (Jolly)
Mud shot
Mud-slap
Water gun
Tackle

Overall an easy victory.
Might have been a bit overleveled lol.

Finally Slateport!
Please welcome my 2 new teammembers!
The docile Gulpin (Poison) and sassy Electrike (electric)

Time for some serious grinding!

Types used so far: Normal / Dark / Water / Ground / Rock / Steel / Poison / Electric
Types eliminated: none yet

Gulpin soloed Brendan
Now it's on to the next gym!

Electrike fainted during a trainer battle!
Electric types have been eliminated!
Damn... Tough break... But I'll survive I hope...
Gulpin evolved into Swalot!
And disaster struck again...
Aron died to Hi Jump Kick.
It came out of nowhere, totally unexpected...
Steel types have been eliminated!
And that while I was planning to use Aron to beat the third gym...
Thank god I still have Marshtomp to pull that of.

Team:

Swalot lvl 26 (docile)
Yawn
Sludge
Body Slam
Amnesia

Marshtomp lvl 26 (Jolly)
Tackle
Water Gun
Mud-slap
Mud shot

Swalot took care of Voltorb and Electrike,
Marshtomp took care of Magneton and Manectric.
Easy even without Aron.

Taking Loudred out of storage so I have 3 members in my party again.

Taught Marshtomp Rock Smash.

Mightyena got killed by Magnitude 10 in it's first battle after being taken out of the box >.>
Dark types have been eliminated!

Up to mount chimney!

Types used so far: Normal / Dark / Water / Ground / Rock / Steel / Poison / Electric
Types eliminated: Dark / Rock / Steel / Electric

Oh boy, this looks like a fun way to infuriate people that want me to do things by spending even more time on Pokemon. The Ultimate challenge is all of them in a row starting at RBY, yes? And if I understand this correctly, at the start of each game the table is cleared and all types are available again, even previously eliminated ones? Well, sign me up, I'll update when I beat Misty probably with all of my incredible adventures in 8bitmusicalmigraineland.

Wow, I forgot about this until earlier this afternoon. Whoops.

Anyway, started today, got up the the beginning of the route to the Rock Tunnel.

Started off in Red. Starter was Bulbasaur (grass), ground it to level 12 before giving Oak his Parcel, then caught a Nidoran (m) (poison) and trained them both up to 13. By my figuring, these are the only things I'll actually need by the end of the game if I stockpile ethers and elixirs. Beat Brock with level 14 Nidoran and level 15 Bulbasaur, easy, no problems at all.

On the way to Mt Moon, both evolved. In Mt Moon, caught a Clefairy (Normal), ground Nidorino and Ivysaur up to 19 and 22, Clefable (whom I evolved with the moon stone, figuring Nidorino could afford to wait, even though the final moveset will be all TMs) to 17 before it ran out of PowerPoints. Rival Green nearly KO'd Nidorino, so I, you know, switched it out for Clefable and won. By the time I beat Misty they (Nido, Ivysaur and Clefable) were at levels 22, 24 and 21, respectively. Used TM for Bubblebeam on Nidorino, everything going as planned (making boltbeam + EQ).

Yada yada yada, went south to Vermillion, caught a Dugtrio at level 29 (ground) using Clefable's sing and Water Gun, took everybody to the SS Anne, Green gave me no problems, and went in to beat Surge. Used Thunderbolt TM on Nido, but tragedy struck- It seems I had not saved since before I beat Misty, and I accidentally taught T-Bolt over Bubblebeam. No HUGE tragedy- Surf is superior anyway, though it might be tough until I get the HM. Also had to teach Ivysaur cut, which is a drawback.

Current team, standing before the tree to the East of Cerulean:

Ivysaur (grass), level 26
Vine Whip
Cut
Leech Seed
Poison Powder

Dugtrio (ground), level 30
Dig
Body Slam
Sand Attack
Growl

Clefable (Normal), level 27
Mega Punch
Sing
Water Gun
Pound

Nidorino (Poison), level 28
Thunderbolt
Horn Attack
Poison Sting
Tackle

No deaths so far, though Nidorino was close once.

This is... A lot like the Nuzlocke challenge, give or take a couple rules. But the main one is still there - If a Pokemon faints, it's dead.

Huh. Maybe I'll have a go at it, as it's an interesting twist on what I'm used to.

Here is my Team:

Nova the Monferno, Lvl 19 (Male)
Flame Wheel, Ember, Mach Punch,Fury Swipes
He is the main attacker of team and he pretty defeated any type. I think he can survive for Pokemon League. But he still needs better moves. 9/10

Spark the Luxio, Lvl 19 (Male)
Spark,Bite,Tackle,Charge
He is so powerful and can counter many Water and Flying types with ease but still has low stats. But i trust he will be a Powerhouse when evolves into Luxray. 7/10

Ace the Staravia, Lvl 19 (Male)
Wing Attack,Quick Attack,Endeavor,Double Team
I like this guy :) He can counter any Bug or Grass types and also takes no damage from Ground. He also got Endeavor and Quick Attack and has high defense so i can endeave foe easily. 9/10

Petal the Budew, Lvl 18 (Male)
Mega Drain,Absorb,Stun Spore,Growth
For now he is powerless :( But he can lift anything up when he evolves. But still can't faint anything but Rock types. 4/10

Swamp the Shellos, Lvl 19 (Male)
Mud Bomb,Water Pulse,Hidden Power Electric,Mud Slap
I didn't used a Shellos before so i wondered about using it. And now i see he is powerful. Will be even powerful when he evolves to Gastrodon. Can counter any electric and flying(thanks to HP Electric :D) types with ease. 9/10

Queen the Combee, Lvl 19 (Female)
Bug Bite,Gust,Sweet Scent,Empty
Well, i really wanted to use this Pokemon after i battled Aaron's Vespiquen in Diamond. And is very powerful even as a Combee, will be most powerful member of my team when it evolves into Vespiquen. 10/10

Boxed
Cute the Buneary , Lvl 11 (Male)
Spook the Drifloon , Lvl 15 (Male)

Deceased
-None-

Types Left
Fire,Grass,Water,Electric,Ground,Flying,Poison,Fighthing,Psyhic,Bug,Rock,Normal, Ghost,Ice,Dragon,Steel,Dark

Went into Mt. Moon
Wait, before that, I caught Nitrogen, the Electrike!
Then came Mt. Moon....
OMFG!HOLY CRAP! IT'S A FREAKING BAGON!
Couldn't resist myself. Caught it, and named it Dynal
That means Cottonball is mah flying type. I almost lost Flarezard because of that Bagon....
Mt. Moon: CLEAR!
