Go to your User Control Panel, go to Edit Options (http://www.pokecommunity.com/profile.php?do=editoptions#misc) and select "The Stand Nexus".Introducing The Stand NexusA theme by Hiroshi Sotomura.

It's been in beta for a little while, but it's finally ready for everyone! I aimed to make it the best yet, but I still want to know what you guys think about it.

If you like hexagon motifs, you'll enjoy this. Or maybe you don't. Oh well. (I'll eat you for dinner, fenyx.) The Stand Nexus features a hexagonal motif and also a little bit of the checkerboard motif in B/W.

http://www.pokecommunity.com/images/styles/ForeverStanding2/announcement/variablewidth-m.png (http://www.pokecommunity.com/images/styles/ForeverStanding2/announcement/variablewidth.png)

Three display modes to choose from
Who's to say one design suits all? There are three modes to choose from. (Click to enlarge.)
http://www.pokecommunity.com/images/styles/ForeverStanding2/announcement/fixedwidth-t.png (http://www.pokecommunity.com/images/styles/ForeverStanding2/announcement/fixedwidth.png) http://www.pokecommunity.com/images/styles/ForeverStanding2/announcement/variablewidth-t.png (http://www.pokecommunity.com/images/styles/ForeverStanding2/announcement/variablewidth.png) http://www.pokecommunity.com/images/styles/ForeverStanding2/announcement/minimal-t.png (http://www.pokecommunity.com/images/styles/ForeverStanding2/announcement/minimal.png)

From left to right, we have:
Fixed-width mode. Some of us don't like our content stretching all across our screens, and so by default, The Stand Nexus defaults to fixed-width.
Variable-width mode. I get it, I get it. Narrow styles waste the space our widescreen monitors have.
Reduced mode. And for those who are at an internet café or something and want to have a style that isn't so Pokémon-like, or for those who don't want a huge banner up top.

You can change the preferred mode by going to the Miscellaneous panel under Edit Options in your User CP (http://www.pokecommunity.com/profile.php?do=editoptions#misc) and looking for this option:
http://www.pokecommunity.com/images/styles/ForeverStanding2/announcement/ModeSwitch.png
(These modes work in other styles too, such as The Johto Elite!)

A small look at the big things

And the small things
The Context Bar was pretty much made for The Stand Nexus (though I realise it debuted in The Johto Elite first):

I'd really like to hear your comments. :D[css-div="clear: right;"][/css-div]

It's a really neat theme that you released Jake! I'll be using this in fixed-width since that's enough for me and whatnot, but I love it anyway. ♥ Good job on it!

I was using this theme since the beta version. I love this theme, especially the hexagonal motif. You outdid yourself, Jake. (b'-')b

You may not know this Jake, but your hexagonal motifs, are just sexy. Gonna use this style now since it has the fluid-width, which I love. Only thing I could point out is that the grey area for the user- header thing (the part with user information in a post) could be just a tad darker, as it seems a little too light for my liking.

Wow... this new forum style is just perfect... and fits with the Black & White theme so much that it's so... well, I think I'm running out of words. The new buttons are a great touch, too!

I loved Route 167. But this is definitely my fave now. Really good style. Thanks a bunch, bro.I have to disagree. Although I LOVE this theme, Route 167 was just fantastic.

Just a question, why does the skin keep changing every like, 4 weeks?

Just a matter of preferences, really. And I used 167+ more than 167, just for the record. XD;

I love it, it's very clean and professional and is just easy to use. What I mean is it's one of those where you like everything about it, the colours and icons etc. Whereas other themes I do have my varying opinions about - this one is just great. And it's simple to put it that way. I'd say good job :) It would be awesome if you got around to having different colour themes for it.

I'm still going to use Azure Fantasy though cuz it rocks :D

I did use it since it was in beta but I found a better one. I do like the fast you can change the variants.

Yeah, refuse to do that currently because of technical limitations which weren't an issue with the New Thread button. There's a way I want to do it and I'm having problems with it. So yeah.

I was using this theme while still in beta, and I love it. Fantastic work!

EDIT: Though I'm not a fan of the pixelated B/W rivals on the Post Reply/New Thread buttons, even in the "Reduced" mode... Any chance of a change for that?

One question tho; is the battlewiki supposed to be there? It just inserts a # into the URL.

Why do you bother commenting on someone's hard work by telling them that you're using something else? That's really rude and really brings down someone's confidence; even if you're putting it down for something else that they happened to make.

Flawless yet exquisite style, I am very impressed. However, users online button could be better, it's the one thing that bothers me even for such a minimal flaw. Though I congratulate the creator for taking their time to make a fresh looking style.

I've already been using this Theme, but still, Wow! It really gets Black and White feel. It definitely looks new, and I love it. Hexagons, Cheren, Bianca, everything!
Only, I wish there was at least one N on the theme. XP
Other than that, awesome job. =D

I am loving the icons and how they have changed.

April 4th, 2011, 02:16 AM
I really like this. Especially the option for the reduced mode. It's a shame it's default, because I wanted to choose it myself.

Keep in mind that people are going to start nagging about the broken link to the BattleWiki, so you may want to hide it for the meantime. :cer_laugh:

Last I checked, I'm allowed to say my opion. Also, you aren't a mod, so don't tell me what to do. :/

I liekd the theme, it's just I prefer Route 167. Is that a big deal?

But I think you could keep your preferences to yourself. If you like the theme then comment on why you like it. You can even include why you prefer Route 167 over The Stand Nexus as that kind of critic can help improve this theme.

I love Forever Standing and so naturally I thought I'd love this theme, great name by the way. But I kept Forever Standing because I still think the very white overall background, especially where our eyes are kept most while scrolling the forum.

If you really would want to release an update, I would just suggest bringing it a bit darker, but definitely not opaque black, I'm glad you never chose that haha.

But yeah just my thoughts.

Looks professional, I might use it if it were IE6-compatible.

How long did it take to put together?

But I think you could keep your preferences to yourself.
Which would diminish the point of a forum.

Me: Look at this theme, Pokemon Black. It's so...dark.
Boyfriend: I would use that.
Me: And look at White, it's so bright! I can't take it!
Boyfriend: I agree, too white.
Me: Now look at this one, it's so balanced! X3

I like how the black and white are balanced so it's not completely dark but not all white either, like the other two B/W themes. I would agree with the suggestion to make the white background slightly darker though, maybe a light gray between #CDCDCD and #949494. Just my two cents :3

Never.

A while. Took two weeks of having a concept up before I actually got round to completing it

Which would diminish the point of a forum.
Incidentally, the post in question is almost devoid of actual constructive criticism/content that I could've removed it as SPAM.

The Stand Nexus really kicks tail. How did you know that medium gray was my favorite color? Aheheh... just kidding.

All jokes aside, I think this new theme has the ultimate technological feel compared to some of the other themes, and I'm big into high-tech themes nonetheless. One thing I'd like to see – and I'm sure that I'm not alone on this – would be that the majority of the interface buttons have mouseOver events much like the "Post Reply" button. Other than that, Stand Nexus looks great.

Absolutely amazing. My all time favourite skin out of all of them.

The main titles, the colour scheme, the buttons - everything is just gorgeous. My one complaint is the characters in the banner. They seem out of place to me.

It's not completely horrible, it's just the colors are meh. I'd rather see something colorful.

I really like the design this time around. It looks more mature. The last ones were too colorful and made it look too kiddy. This time, it feels neutral and more manly! :D

April 9th, 2011, 10:45 PM
I think I'm loving this style. Making this the default style helps, too. It's just... so nice. If there is something that could be improved upon, it's the colours. How about an option for different colours/shades?

Hmm... is it just me, or does the combination of a context bar, Special display mode and enabling beta features in certain styles cause The Stand Nexus to always display in fixed-width mode? What's up?

EDIT: Hmm... apparently, when you allow beta features, you lose fluid-width styles. I think I solved my problem... with a workaround.

If you set it to the reduced version as explained the OP, it cuts out all of the characters, leaving a subtle plain banner, which I personally prefer.

Certainly a very classy style, one that differentiates this forum from others. A little bland, but I guess for a such a great community a more rock polished style is needed. The hexagons give it this more cyber taste which in my opinion shows us how the forums are a global meetup for many trainers. The Black and White motif, well come on, it is the newest Pokemon game out so far, so why not? 8/10 for the style.

To put it more politely, it doesn't look that great to me. Like some have said, there is a lack of color. This makes Beige look appealing. The characters at the top look out of place, and the layout is just plain boring. It also creates more of a dreadful environment, for me anyways. Maybe next time...
