One year in my Ruby version has passed but the rocket guy inthe space centre has gone back to the start again. Does trading to fire red fix the berry update glitch?

Yep. ^_^ Other things you may want to consider are trading from Colosseum, Trading from Emerald (if you have a legit copy) or sending it to Nintendo, where they shall also give you a free gift as well. ^_^ Talk about win-win XD

It also affects the Lilycove Lottery and all Berry related events. That's wy many people call it the Berry Glitch. ^_^
