What are some of the best lyrics you've heard? How about a whole song in general?

I think-
Beat song lyricwise-Words I Never Said by Lupe Fiasco & Changes by Tupac

Best lyrics-It's all in disarray this parade I walk
They get amazed when they catch a chain I toss
Amidst disarray a different way as I talk
And it hangs from your brain if my chain you caught
from B.o.B Past My Shades ft. Lupe Fiasco, second verse
I think that all the silence is worse than all the violence
Fear is such a weak emotion that's why I despise it
We scared of almost everything, afraid to even tell the truth
So scared of what you think of me, I’m scared of even telling you
Sometimes I’m like the only person I feel safe to tell it to
I’m locked inside a cell in me, I know that there’s a jail in you
Consider this your bailing out, so take a breath, inhale a few
My screams is finally getting free, my thoughts is finally yelling through from Lupe Fiasco Words I Never Said ft. Skylar Grey, third verse.

Best lyricist-Lupe Fiasco

What do you think are the best lyrics?

I'm not really a fan of rap or whatever, but I love KiD CuDi.
I may be biased, growing up in Cleveland as well, but every song he puts out has at least one part that hits something deep.

The people I've met and the places I've been
are all what make me the man I so proudly am
but I wanna know one thing
when did I become a ghost?

I'm mostly confused about the world I live in
You think that I'm lonely well, I probably am.
One thing that still gets me
when did I become a ghost? yeah.

It's pretty self-explanatory, except for the ghost part, which I can relate to a bit. Spends all this time in all these places and with these people, but the people that really matter ignore him - like he's a ghost.

Also, although I don't personally like Kanye West, I think he's a lyrical god, and I can respect that. He's bit for "Erase Me" by KiD CuDi is genius.

Aside from rap, I think Sick Puppies have some nice lyrics. "Odd One" by Sick Puppies is pretty good, as well as just a good sound (and an incredibly attractive bassist /drool). I think for more... lyrically central music, I look back to The Doors or Pink Floyd.

I don't need no arms around me
And I dont need no drugs to calm me.
I have seen the writing on the wall.
Don't think I need anything at all.
No! Don't think I'll need anything at all.
All in all it was all just bricks in the wall.
All in all you were all just bricks in the wall.
